The service was good, but the food was very average. An egg sandwich for 100 riyals seems overpriced.

We joined the queue around 12 and waited for an hour. You order online from the menu using a QR code. Once we sat down, our orders arrived quickly. The sandwiches were delicious; the matcha wasn't really my thing, but my friends loved it. Overall, it's a tasty and worthwhile breakfast, but whether it's worth waiting that long in the sun on the bridge is debatable.

It was definitely good. You should at least try their toasts; we liked the meat one the most. The egg one was very plain, and the shrimp one with sauces and everything wasn't very appealing to us. We went twice, and the only reason we went one time was for their brown sugar lattes. We really liked their coffees, and the toasts are worth trying at least once.

I did not even get to try the famous sandwiches. I get that the places are small and there isn't enough space, but if you have 50-100 people waiting to try your food (which i guess is perfect in taste) you should think of growing your business and get a larger room for your restaurant. Each day Chun looses a lot of people because of the long queue.

Compared to everything I ate in Amsterdam, the food was below average and the queue was too long. Try something new, it's better.

We were there at 10:00 AM, opening time. We waited in line for about 30 minutes in the sun. There was no waiter to take orders or payments. You had to scan the QR code on the table to place your order and pay, after which your order arrived. We paid a total of 60 Euros for 3 toasts and 3 lattes, which was a very high price. The packaging of the toast looked very fancy, but it was just a standard slice of toast bread with a hole in the top, about the size of a matchbox, filled with a stuffing, and then topped it with sauce to hide it ☺️ After the first bite, you're left with a hat of sauce and egg, a walnut-sized filling, and disappointment. I think it's a kind of South Korean-style rip-off, a kind of business-like extortionist.

I had a very disappointing experience. I first went to one of your locations, where there was an extremely long queue. After waiting for about 30 minutes, we were told to go to another branch, which was a 15-minute walk away. When we arrived, there was another huge queue, and I've now been waiting for over an hour. The line barely moves. The biggest issue is that customers who only want takeaway have to wait in the same queue as customers who are dining in. Since dine-in orders naturally take much longer, this creates unnecessarily long waiting times for everyone. It is a very inefficient system and should be improved.

The sandwiches are good, a little greasy because of the buttered toast and the sauces on top, but it's still nice to try once, the place is pleasant.

We were waiting in a line which wasn't moving at all, meanwhile staff member advised us to go to another location where there is no line at all, but there actually was a bigger line

Takeaway is the key to avoid long waits. There are only 5 tables for 2-3 people. Move to the takeaway queue by the bridge to avoid blocking neighbors. (See my pic) I will update the food review after. The drink looks solid with quality matcha. (Yeah, being from California, we know our boba and matcha drinks)

Well worth the wait (about 30-45 minutes)

We had read that there were long lines and decided to arrive before they opened, and it was a good thing we did because within minutes a long line had formed. This had raised our expectations. My husband ordered the Garlic Shrimp and loved it. He said it was very good, but he still felt the price was high for what they offered. I ordered the Rib Eye Bulgogi. I had read reviews saying it was very, very good, but honestly, I didn't like it at all. They just put a sliced ​​egg on top, and the beef was extremely sweet. It wasn't pleasant at all; on the contrary, I felt like I needed tea to be able to keep eating it. So, I don't recommend that toast. If you find sweet things cloying, this toast isn't for you. In short, I feel the products are overpriced for what they offer. The total bill was 41 Euros 💶 2 toasts, a coffee and a strawberry matcha tea, which was indeed delicious.

We tried to get a spot here before, and back then the line was 1.5 hours. This time, we were waiting outside just past 10 and were inside within 10 minutes. The food and drinks were definitely worth the hype. We would love to eat here again.

Get there early! Otherwise you'll probably be waiting around the block. The ribeye ragoli is very good!

Tried the shrimp sandwich from Chun and it definitely lived up to the hype 😍 Not overrated at all. The queue was literally over the bridge, but it actually moved pretty quickly so it wasn’t bad. You can choose to eat in or take away. I’d say take away is the faster option, and there are plenty of places nearby to sit outside and enjoy your food. Definitely worth the wait

Decent service we had to wait outside we had a takeaway with coffee. I had the pulled pork what was very good but rich tasting. My partner had the bacon egg and cheese very good but not a lot of bacon. Overall great. Very expensive tho. €42

Luckily, we didn't have to wait in line. The people at the checkout and the servers were very friendly, everything was super fast, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the avocado egg cheese toast, and it was amazing. We'd definitely come back! 🫶🏻

Their sandwiches are, without a doubt, some of the best I've ever had. That said, there's usually quite a queue to get a table or order, as the place is very small. Even so, the wait is totally worth it.

I would spend my precious money for this! Definitely recommended. Happy to be in the line on a rainy day because the taste is just good and fillings in the sandwich are generous. Sandwiches and Drinks both are flavorful. Definitely cheaper than flying to Korea and having authentic toasts there. Try ribeye and Garlic Shrimp for best experience.

The best sandwich I've ever eaten! Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. The brioche bread is filled with egg all the way to the bottom, and in my opinion, it's absolutely worth the price for this quality! The matcha is also very, very good!

The famous egg and shrimp brioche. The line starts next to the bridge across the street. Good presentation and service; takeout orders are served faster. The downside was that it wasn't very memorable and had very little shrimp. I didn't think it was good value for money.

I honestly don’t understand the hype around this place. We waited in line for almost an hour just to eat one of the most ordinary sandwiches I’ve ever had. Expensive ones. The presentation very instagramable, but that’s where the positives ended. The toast was dry, and both the meat and the shrimp lacked any real flavor. The interior also felt like it was put together as cheaply as possible, without much character or atmosphere. The only real highlight was the service – the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. I’ve had similar sandwiches in many places across Europe, and in those places they were actually memorable and worth the wait. Unfortunately, this place wasn’t.

For years I’ve wanted to try Chun, but I never felt like standing in line; partly because of the waiting and partly on principle. I decided to give it a try today anyway when I passed by again. I waited in the somewhat humiliating TikTok queue of shame across the street, which fortunately went quickly. After about ten minutes, I was allowed to move on to the next level, the short line in front of the store. The guy standing there to keep things running smoothly is great, by the way: very patient and polite to all the tourists who don't realize the line starts elsewhere. Perhaps the store could advertise a bit better visually about the fact that there are two new branches not too far away, to spread out the visitors a bit. I ordered the shoyu egg salad sandwich and enjoyed it quite a bit. The bread is really delicious (could it be otherwise, prepared in presumably a whole mountain of butter?). I found the egg salad to be average. Not super flavorful, and I would have liked a bit more greens in it. Of course it's overpriced for a simple sandwich of two slices of white bread, but I still don't rule out trying another version someday.

30+ waiting line, but it is worth it for their sandwiches and easy going self order service.

Really good place if you want the best sandwich of your life. Me and my girlfriend went there, and the only thing we were regret is not buying 22. There is a bit of a lineup in which you have to wait on the bridge above the canal, but the wait is worth it.

Definitely worth of the wait and all the hype! This is the best egg sandwiches we've had. I do wish the store was a bit bigger with more sitting room, and just space to wait for our order so it didn't feel like we were invading anyone's personal space. Thankfully, it was nice enough outside we took our food togo and sat on a nice bench outside.

Customer service is practically non-existent. I understand that long waiting times are part of the experience here, and while the burger is good, I personally don’t think it’s worth the lengthy wait or the high price. That said, I chose to come here knowing that and accepted it. My real issue is with the after-sales support. Due to a system error, I was charged twice for the same order. When I reported the problem immediately, I was told that since the duplicate order had not gone through, the charge would be automatically refunded. More than 20 days have now passed, and I still haven’t received the refund. I also sent an email as soon as I realized the payment had not been reversed, but I never received any response. As a result, I ended up paying twice for a burger that is already quite expensive. Mistakes can happen, but the complete lack of customer support and communication is simply unacceptable.

To be honest, it wasn't as good as the hype. Some people even said it was worth the wait! I waited in line for about 35 minutes and ordered avocado toast. It was good, but not amazing. I think this is the standard of breakfast restaurants in Amsterdam. Besides that, the place is very cramped, and I canceled my cold coffee after I saw a worker looking at the ice pack and his fingers in the ice!

You have to arrive very early/well in advance or be prepared to wait a long time...!! Once seated, the service is quick. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, especially the Rib Eye Bulgogi.

It is a lovely spot for matcha and Korean-style toast. The food is tasty, nicely presented and feels a bit different from the usual café options. The toast is soft, filling and full of flavour, and the matcha is smooth and enjoyable. That said, it is quite expensive for what it is, and they do not have a huge variation of options. It can also get busy, but overall it is still a nice place to try, especially if you enjoy aesthetic cafés and sweet-savoury flavours. The staff is also very friendly.

It was a normal egg sandwich experience. You can fry an egg at home, put it in a toasted sandwich with avocado, and eat it; it will taste the same. There's no need to pay 20 Euros for it. The taste is never bad, but it's not something you should try; it's purely popular culture.

The portions were just right, but we ended up ordering three different toasts for two because we wanted to experience more of the menu. We tried the Rib-Eye Bulgogi, Garlic Shrimp Egg, and Avocado Egg Cheese, and every single one was outstanding. When we arrived on a Saturday, the line stretched all the way to the bridge over the canal. The staff member managing the queue informed us that the waiting time would be around 45–60 minutes. Fortunately, since we were ordering takeaway, we were able to skip the dine-in line, grab our toasts, and enjoy them by the canal while the weather stayed dry. The interior of the shop was beautiful, and the matcha drinks were excellent as well. Without a doubt, one of the highlights of our Amsterdam trip. Highly recommended.

Overhyped… the waiting time is way too long and the line starts somewhere else… not worth the money… you stand waiting on the bridge, but they did let people through who came straight to the store, which isn't fair to the people waiting on the bridge… and they let a couple take a seat who came inside (to pick up). Not customer-friendly.

I normally don’t queue for food. In fact, seeing a long line is usually enough for me to walk away. Chun is one of the exceptions. If the queue isn’t too crazy, recommend waiting. The sandwiches are genuinely good and lived up to the hype. Simple, flavorful and distinct. A small shout-out as well to the gentleman managing the queue outside. He was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and somehow made standing in line feel less like waiting and more like part of the experience.

The prices are also a bit high for my taste: around €15 for a sandwich seems excessive for what it is. It's good, but not good enough to fully justify the price. Another disappointing point: for people who like to have something sweet with their latte, there aren't really any interesting options. It was easily one of the best breakfast places we visited in Amsterdam. The matcha here deserves a special mention as well. I tried both the banana matcha and the strawberry matcha, and they were among the best matcha drinks I had in Amsterdam. If I had more time, I would have happily gone back again and again during my stay. A place I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the city.

There is a que across the bridge, but since it was good weather day and many people were taking takeaway order it was fast moving. We waited around 30minutes. The meat wasn’t quite for me personally, but it was very well marinated and full of flavor. The shop was really busy when we visited, but the wait wasn’t long and moved very quickly. The staff were friendly, which made the experience even better. Overall, a good place to try if you’re in the area.

This was a huge disappointment. After always seeing that line, I decided to try it myself. What a farce. The bun was too soggy, the matcha super blend, and despite the long wait (way too long for a sandwich), I wasn't even spoken to in a friendly manner.

Chun was by far the best place we got food at while visiting Amsterdam, the banana matcha is a MUST. The staff are so considerate and friendly, and manage the business in such a kind manner. I highly recommend this place even if there is a queue, it is definitely worth it.

We waited in line for almost 30 minutes, the line kept getting longer without decreasing. You create your own order by scanning the QR code on the table. There are similar and better alternatives for those who don't want to wait in line.

This is the longest we queued for a place to eat and I'll address a few points for others and the owners at the end of this review. Shout out to the doorman. Really nice guy and cheerful. Kids had a nice chat with him and came over to check how they liked the food. We ordered the Beef & Shrimp. The beef was definitely the winner of the two. The bread was delicious, crunchy and soft. It was stuffed with the delicious filling and the flavours were just all on point. A delicious creation. The prawn was also good, again stuffed with egg, prawns and lashings of sauce. We ordered the strawberry and banana matcha. The strawberry was the best we've had whilst in Amsterdam and we've had a few of them at various establishments. My son had the banana and that was also lovely. The banana cream on top was fantastic. Overall, the food was really simple but was done really well.. was it worth the queue... Yes, but the queue didn't need to be that big. Now the queue situation.... The queue for this place was pretty ridiculous tbh. Was not going to bother until my wife suggested I go with the kids to get some stuff and she'll wait in the queue. We were gone for 35 mins and she was at the front when we got back. It was disappointing that some people had finished but were just sat faffing about doing their make-up and probably on social media instead of making space for others. Having queued, people should be mindful and respectful to eat, enjoy and leave without loitering around holding up the small space. Something the waiters should probably address and us customers should adopt.

I took the Rib-eye sandwich and the garlic shrimp. I didn’t like them to be honest. It is sweet food and I don’t like it. The white lady with glasses is so rude! She doesn’t have the skills to communicate with people politely!. Not even a fake smile!

The food is very good overall.. loved the sandwich and honestly one of the best matcha’s i had in the city… however the long lines make the experience a bit underwhelming (not that its the stores fault tho) its just hard to plan to revisit it on a random day :/

The avocado egg cheese toast was genuinely amazing. The portion was super generous and they were really generous with the eggs too. Even though it was a weekday, we waited more than 30 minutes in line, but it was definitely worth it.

The toasts are definitely delicious, but whether they're worth the minimum hour wait is questionable. We waited exactly one hour at 10 am. Although we don't particularly like meat toast, we recommended the Rip Eye. The avocado egg is a regular omelet, but the portions are really filling. The strawberry macaroni doesn't have a very strong henna flavor, but it's quite sweet. If you want something refreshing and tangy to drink, you can opt for the orange juice. The staff are very polite and attentive.

This place is a tourist trap. I saw many viral insta reels and then waited in queue for an hour to get a take out order. I ordered egg avocado and bacon egg. The food is okay it's not bad but it's definitely not worth the hype.

We waited in the queue for a hour and I would 100% do it again. These breakfast sandwiches are not overrated, omg they were so good!! I got the shrimp & my boyfriend got one of the meat ones. Every bite was delicious! Even though you have to wait awhile, it’s very well organized & staff were all great.
