Chupitos Utrecht in Wijk 06 Binnenstad

I hadn't even been at Chupitos for half an hour when I was harassed by an annoying guy, but the security guard's actions kept my evening from being completely ruined. My complaint was taken very seriously, and he was eventually kicked out. So much love and respect for the security!

Terrible, so many poorly dressed people... and with horrible shoes. Security kicked me out for wearing sandals... when there were even worse people, and I was well-dressed, the only difference being that I was wearing flip-flops... that security service was terrible. After I'd paid.

We were out with friends for a birthday. We had paid €18 for drinks but in the end we got nothing. We reported this to the bartender, but he said that we had not ordered anything. Astonished, we indicated that we had and showed the statement (from 5 minutes earlier). The bartender reacted angrily and indicated that we were lying. We indicated that we had ordered those drinks. He then threatened to have us thrown out of the bar. In the end we got half of our drinks as compensation, but certainly not worth the €18 for drinks. The way in which these were provided to us was done with a lot of reluctance and gave us the feeling that we were not very welcome the entire evening. Very unfortunate…

They don’t let me in because I was lonely, and this is very bad because I come from far away just for this club. The bodyguard was very rude, he actually don’t know to speak with the clients.

Very disappointed, very nice in Amsterdam, but very sexist bartenders and security guards in Utrecht who do not know how to behave. Very unfortunate

Nice bar if you like to do shots. There is often a line from 12 noon on weekends. Highly recommended if you want to try something surprising, ask at the bar for the flower bulb shot (I don't know the exact name of the shot, but the bar staff knows what you mean)

Arrogant security guard at Chupitos Utrecht is seen as a burden in advance. They make you feel like they hate you while you just want to have a nice time in the pub. I was already inside, but I went outside for a moment and then unceremoniously I couldn't come back in

We went to this tent for a nice evening. Fairly small but with a lot of choice of shots. Then halfway through the evening I was grabbed by the arm and thrown outside. I wasn't allowed in anymore because I was “too drunk”… nothing could be further from the truth, we had only finished 2 shots and I wasn't even allowed to take my jacket. Terrible security guards, extremely racist and hypocritical bar staff.

Guards do not take people with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) seriously, you will be kicked out if you have to use the only sitting toilet

Great place to drink alcohol quickly for €3 per shot. Staff helps quickly and is quite attentive The toilet could really be a bit cleaner. I arrived quite early in the evening and there was literally a puddle on the floor. It was impossible to tell whether it was water or something else. Shoes were quite wet.

Forgot my jacket in this club a few days ago. Emailed, called, but no answer. I ended up visiting when the club was supposed to be open. After a long wait, someone finally opened the door and said that you should always email first for lost items. I was absolutely not allowed in. Never received an answer to the email of course, and if you come by specifically, you are flatly rejected. This meeting really sums up the entire experience in this club. Definitely not recommended! And if you think this is a great place, think again. This club is so inaccessible that they would ask you to send a smoke signal before they help you! Save yourself the trouble and find another place.

Very special; Apparently you're not allowed to go in alone. Treated quite anti-social and smart by security. Never experienced this before....

Unfortunately many false promises from the DJ. He was supposed to play Murder on the Dance Floor, my favorite song, but ultimately didn't do so. A huge downer after a fun night out :(

I love chupitos and it’s my favorite bar but the doorman Len with braids is very stup1d and rude. The blonde girl from the bar is also very stup1d and looks everyone with contempt. The place should be more inviting and have a better crew. G3t b3tt3r people to work there or you’ll n33d to cl0se this bar. The better two security and the dj got fired and now there’s some we1rd and n4sty people working there.

My friend wasn’t let in because of his turban, the bouncer told him „no entrance in hats” and despise us explaining to him that it’s for religious reasons, he said that’s none of his concern and he’s not coming in in a „hat”.

Been here for the first time today. Very cool how the shots are made here. Inside it is smaller than I expected, but super cozy. I had a great kind of chupitos initiation, and it was not at all what I expected, but it was fun!👍🏻

Crappy tent. Security is downright ridiculous and racist towards your own customers. Based on skin color, clothing, and even that women with small breasts are not allowed in. You are a joke to society. Hope the owner reads this and takes active action against this ridiculous behavior.

What a terrible club this is! Yesterday I got into a heated argument with the guard because they are incredibly racist. A friend of mine was not allowed in because he was supposedly too "black". The guard said several times that I was no longer welcome on the street as a foreigner and the guard was also physically and started pulling and pushing.

Edit: I actually liked coming here, but Jesus, some of the staff behind the bar. Or actually: specifically one (the only? blonde) girl... How incredibly grumpy and passive can you be? She stands there TIME AND TIME AGAIN with so much reluctance and is too lazy to be proactive. Of course you can sometimes not feel like doing your job... But I have worked in the catering industry (also behind the bar) for years, and this attitude is really terrible. Certainly only hired because she looks nice. I wouldn't have let her continue working like that... I read a lot of complaints about security/doormen, but this is a problem throughout Utrecht... I cannot deny that the security guards, here too, are quite (unnecessarily) rude jerks if you don't know them. But once you "know" them, they are the sweetest/nicest/nicest/funniest people... But yes, that does not apply to everyone. I have also experienced/seen what they are like when that is not the case. Selective and unnecessarily harsh sometimes. Too bad... Because they are good people and the atmosphere is always good inside at Chupitos!

My coat got stolen, and the staff wasn't helpful at all. Also, I sent an email asking, and nobody replied back. This was a month ago.

If you fancy one or more tasty shots, definitely recommended, if you dare, the yolo or the ready set go is highly recommended. Super fun atmosphere, but every 30 seconds there is a different genre of music on. But definitely a nice bar/club

The security guards here are complete jerks to the point of being unreasonable. They are also always there to talk to you when they are feeling a lot and you are crazy. Once inside, the atmosphere is very different, the staff is very friendly, you can laugh with them and also provide good advice on shots ;)

A really annoying place, was refused after an evening while I had the choice to have a quiet chat outside or stand on the corner. I chose to talk quietly and I literally whispered but was not allowed in because the security guard thought I was too loud.

I've been to Chupitos several times with friends, but unfortunately every time I'm at the door I'm treated like I'm a criminal, in a disrespectful way. This is discrimination by security based on my background. The bar staff are very friendly, but security charges money from people with a foreign background. This is unacceptable! Always a nice place until tonight. A buddy of mine accidentally dropped his ID and was immediately told that you are too drunk, but this was not the case. I don't know what caused this, but it's a shame

EDIT: concerned bouncer from below is gone and the manager(?) kindly welcomed my buddy and me at the doorway. Great. The current security guard no longer allows entry here because "there are sometimes immigrant young people who do not know how to behave there." Been coming here for years, never received any complaints or been kicked out. Had sent a message about this to one of the bartenders, who then indicated that he would discuss it with his boss. Sent another message later, but still received no response.

Bartenders are too showy. I drank 3 Jägerbombs here and then spontaneously felt like watching a fight between two junkies outside.

Security guard gave unclear information about policy with coats/bags when the lockers were full, and then forcefully pulled one of our friends out by her arm because she still had her bag with her. He did not want to have a conversation in a normal way and was very aggressive in tone.

Was a very busy evening, we were told we could take our stuff inside if it didn't fit in the lockers as long as we kept these things with us. Then a friend who was wearing a backpack was very roughly pulled out by the security guard because 'bags were never allowed inside'. So first wrong information is given, then the security guard acts aggressively and then this security guard does not want to listen when we calmly ask why he is acting so disproportionately. He literally said: it's my word against yours. Then you also know that you are wrong.

The Chupi is no longer the Chupi. I used to come here with all my love. It was a place where everyone was welcome and could have a fantastic evening. Nowadays it's different We stood in line and had to wait. The first women were then allowed to enter straight past the queue. In addition, we were sent out once when they mistook us for someone else. Furthermore, you used to be able to go wild and party. The bartenders take off their shirts and party like crazy. If you also take off your shirt, you will be pulled out by your arm. Two stars, because it really used to be my favorite tent, but it's a shame to see how it has changed

Never had any problems getting in, sunny day of course wearing shorts and yes I am not allowed to enter because of my shorts okay?? You have to hand in your jacket and then you can't make it easier by wearing shorts. A little crazy.

Been twice and never again. The first time there was nothing wrong until when I left, a guest said he had a problem with me, after which he started pushing me in the hope that I would do something in return. The bouncers weren't really into it so luckily there were other customers who could take it off me. Bitter taste but nothing happened until I came back the following week. I was taken out of the line by the bouncer who calmly explained to me that I was no longer welcome because I had stolen someone's coat. No further proof needed and he "didn't argue with me". You are a burden first and a customer second so don't expect service here.

Service is very good, music and atmosphere are great. Average age around 20 years. Be sure to try the apple pie shot. This is a real show. The YOLO shot is also very cool. I recommend it more as a stopover.

Absolutely disgusting doormen. They harassed me and my friend about our appearance (we were wearing jumpers and jeans). Unnecessarily aggressive and rude. You lost custom because of them and you will lose a lot more if you continue to employ people like that.

I wish I could give no stars, my friend and I went, when we arrived at the door we were told our ID had not matched our appearance because we were told we must've had a nose job, never going back, horrible doormen.

I can't come in with my own driver's license. I understand that you have to be careful of fake IDs. But are you blind?! Are you blind?! Then have it put on your jacket. 'I'm a security guard and I'm blind' Then I wouldn't have been angry. But yes, don't go here because the security guards are blind so you are not safe. Some time ago I went to chupitos with a few colleagues. It was a Friday evening and the boys and I had a long day at work and we wanted to go into town. The guard standing at the door did not let us in because we were with 4 boys who all had a foreign background. He replied: "You understand that I won't let you in." He himself had a Moluccan appearance. I was completely amazed by his answer. The Syrian boys I was with said it was no problem and that they experience this often. That made me very sad and so I went home. This is the first time I am writing a review. However, this is something that still bothers me a bit, so I thought I would leave a comment.

Basically our fav for the whole last year, cute shots and old hits as we like them.

A very inadvisable pub. Every time my visit ends in a negative experience. This is due to a number of things: First of all, I was refused several times without the muscular bouncer wanting to give an explanation. In addition to the expensive drinks on offer, you pay 50 cents for a simple plaster wall that entails little cleaning costs. This is in addition to the 2(!) euros that the wardrobe costs; And if you tactically put your jacket in your bag, you have to hand it in separately and pay for it. This must be done in cash: if you only have a debit card with you after visiting the toilet, you will be thrown out without mercy.
