City Café in Stadshart

This morning I had "Christmas coffee" with about 35 fellow athletes, and we were given delicious Christmas bread by the café owner, Edgar. Fantastic! What great service.

A very lovely café inside the library — a perfect spot for a break while walking around Stadshart. The food is generally enjoyable, and I especially love their scones and the caprese sandwich on focaccia. The coffee, however, could be improved. The milk texture in the latte is often not quite right, and combined with a rather dark-roasted espresso, it results in a drink that lacks balance. I hope to see some improvements in the future, so we won’t have to travel far for a truly good cup of coffee.

Terrible service, arrogant woman behind the counter, girl calm down. The vibe was awful. I just wanted normal service, but she thought differently.

First day in the Netherlands for us French. First bar stop for a drink too. We were greeted by a very welcoming and accommodating young woman (especially regarding the outdoor heater 👌🏻). She took the time to chat with us, answer our questions, and teach us a few Dutch words. Thank you so much, we'll cherish this first memory of the country!
