Club Smokey in Grachtengordel-Zuid

We went out to party at Smokey's on Friday and had a blast! The cocktails were delicious, the music was great, and the service was super friendly! However, the cleaning lady in the restroom was incredibly rude and only interested in collecting money instead of actually cleaning. One toilet was free, but someone had urinated in front of it. She kept demanding that we use it, and when we said we were waiting because we wanted to use the other one, she became incredibly rude and malicious. In her anger, she grabbed the mop, wiped up the urine, and then used the same mop she had just been using to clean the floor to wipe the toilet seat! Absolutely disgusting! After that, she continued to insult everyone who was waiting. We would gladly come again, but if she's there again, we'll leave immediately, since you pay €1 for every use of the restroom, and you should expect a clean one.

The bouncer (some bald guy in Friday night shift) pushed me violently just because i didn’t know the exit. The worst treatment I ever received in a club.

Absolutely disappointing experience at Club Smokey. This place is the definition of a tourist trap. The music was so loud and chaotic it genuinely made the atmosphere uncomfortable instead of enjoyable. Nobody seemed relaxed — just irritated and trying to escape the noise. The service was even worse. The Italian waitress was incredibly rude and acted like basic customer service was a personal inconvenience. We ordered a plain waffle with chocolate sauce, and apparently the sauce was sold out. Instead of asking if we still wanted it WITHOUT the sauce, she just brought a dry waffle to the table like that was normal. No apology, no explanation, nothing. Then my straw accidentally fell on the floor, and when I politely asked for a new one, she completely ignored it. We also ordered 7Up and got sparkling water instead. At that point it honestly felt like they just didn’t care about customers at all. Overpriced, bad service, terrible atmosphere, and zero attention to customer satisfaction. There are so many better coffeeshops in Amsterdam — avoid this one unless you enjoy being treated badly while listening to stressful music.

The staff at Club Smokey was really incredible! After a fun night out in the club, I had left behind my jacket. With only a couple days left in Amsterdam I wasn’t sure I would be able to get it back, but I was able to connect with the manager Waylon and his staff was able to help me get it back! We even spent a nice evening on our last day, sitting on the patio with a hookah chatting with some more of the staff. I cannot thank everyone enough for their help, and I highly recommend Club Smokey for a casual evening or a fun night!!

A good coffee shop for cocktails and more. Nice ambiance and a pleasant atmosphere. However, the waitresses were quite unfriendly.

Worst place you can be in Amsterdam. The bartender is racist,arrogant and illtreats ,abuses people with color.Security guards were okay and respectful. They charge 2€ per toilet visit. The place is tiny and packed. people smoke inside the pub. Crowd is also not great . After multiple bad experience with bartender and staff, I stopped going to this place and I don't recommend it to anyone.

Club Smokey one of the best spots on Rembrandtplein if you want to dance! The energy is always high, and the DJ plays a great mix of commercial hits and house music. The neon lighting inside makes for a cool atmosphere and great photos. Perfect for an international crowd looking for a fun night out.

The bartender gave me a different drink than the one I ordered.

We were looking forward to a good night out, but this venue didn’t feel welcoming from the start. It was extremely quiet for a Friday night, and our interaction with security quickly became uncomfortable. I was asked to remove my hoodie, which I did without hesitation, but the way it was handled felt unnecessarily confrontational and security became aggressive rather than calming the situation. At the same time, there was an argument inside the club that went on for quite a while and didn’t seem to be addressed, which further impacted the atmosphere. It wasn’t a terrible night overall — thankfully we moved on to other venues that were busier and far more friendly — but this place fell well short of expectations.

Stayed in Amsterdam weekend of 19th December with my stepdaughter as have city breaks for her birthday, found ourselves Enjoying the vibe of Rembrandt Square, sat outside this club to enjoy a passing beer and my stepdaughter who is 24 went inside and asked the staff where the toilet was and one of the male staff replied " come here and I will show you where the toilet is" in a learing, lack of respect for women kind of way! As a result I would not recommend this place! She told me later the evening of this exchange but personally I think its a absolutely disgusting response!!!

Everything was good until one Bartender thinks he is the boss and can do whatever he wants. Clearly he is the most ignorant and stupid person I have ever met in Bar. Behaved like a beggars.

Prices are very high, and even if you're buying something at the bar, they charge you €1 every time you use the restroom. I understand that might be acceptable for non-buyers, but for regular customers, it's outrageous.

Very much a tourist trap but good vibes if you're staying in Rembrandtplein or close. Steep stairs now have handrails all the way down... Was sad to see the pool tables have been replaced by more seating... V expensive compared to walking a bit further.. All in all my 10th trip to Rembrandtplein and I love popping in here first thing when leave hotel!

The end of an unforgettable night in Amsterdam on a Wednesday(!) evening. Very good music. Possibly also two-story. Fenced outdoor area. Clientele great. We had a legendary party. Unfortunately everyone was thrown out after 3 a.m. because the club closed then. Otherwise we probably would have stayed until 6am. Don't miss this. Thanks Smokey!

i’ve never seen this in my entire life!! the bouncer literally started strip searched a kid, started reaching his hands into his pockets?? full hand into his jeans pockets and found a couple bags of coke/or whatever after going through ever single pocket and then started shoving him. literally this guy had a couple bags. i saw it with my own eyes because the bouncer started showing everyone. he 100%. obviously wasn’t a dealer, just some random kid trying to get in, and they were giving a straight up strip search! he wasn’t even drunk. i talked to him afterwards and he he was perfectly normal guy going to the bars, not wasted, and looked like a normal guy . first off that’s illegal as hell, you can’t search a persons pocket in amsterdam and reach you hands into the jean pockets of people even if their entering a private business, plus you can’t do that on the side walk in front of a bar. i heard another two guys say they both had cash missing after the same thing happened to them. i was just watching this all night long. the bouncer literally are reaching their hands in pockets and flipping them inside out at a bar?? holy smokes this place is ridiculous. Two people said they definitely had money missing afterwards inside!! also the guy started showing everyone what the kid had in his pocket, it was like two little bags. we saw him put it in his pocket, and then act like he throw something into the smoking ash tray. STAY THE HELL AWAY!! UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SEARCHED LIKE YOUR GETTING BOOKED INTO PRISON, OR WANT TO GET THROW OUT BECAUSE YOUR DANCING.

On this date 05/02/2025 I was in this place and everything was nice. It was my first night in this place. I paid €300 and you can check this with the employee in the bar. I came the other day and was thrown out by the security guard for no reason. What kind of immoral behavior is this?

Honestly we had really fun on a Sunday. We ordered some cocktails and although they were expensive they were really well filled with alcohol. After 2 cocktails i already felt tipsy. The bar man we’re really nice and offered us a shot. Around 11 o’clock more people arrived and the music started and you could dance. We come from the Netherlands but don’t go out that often in Amsterdam. We didn’t need to smoke we just come for the good vibes.

Don’t go there! I had a trial day ( which should be just 2 hours) and they wanted me to stay the whole night until closing. I didn’t mind because I knew I would have to get paid. The first thing one of their employees told me when I asked where to put my bottle of water during the shift, was “ you can put it in my ass”. After 3.5 hours of working I decided to stop and when I asked to get paid they said they don’t pay the trial day! Which is illegal. I made more than 20€ tips that they of course kept and shared. If you want safe and fare working conditions, don’t go there!!!

We sat here for a while in the evening and enjoyed Amsterdam on a beautiful street. Hookah was the best I've had in Europe. I thought the waiter was Meedo, he was very attentive ☺️

We went there yesterday, years after my brain haemorrhage I tried to go to the disco again and unfortunately this was a traumatic experience for me. The security was very annoying and mean and started shouting all the time and keeping an eye on us while we did nothing. I sat on the stairs so I could put on my shoes, there was almost no place to sit and I couldn't put my shoes on while standing, suddenly the security came to me very unfriendly and impatient, he attacked me like a dog and shouted at me. my that I had to get out of there! He could also indicate this in a normal way and in addition there were many men standing at the stairs all the time, so that was possible🤮🤢I was discriminated against because of my physical disability, I think if they let someone like that in with a handcap then they should treat the target group normally or simply not let them in, in addition, many of the Pakistani men, including many Arabs, were being annoying, they were attacking us all the time and the security simply saw that and did not intervene, but I did complain that I had to sit on the stairs for two minutes to put on shoes! I really don't recommend and especially if something is wrong with you!!! you can't dance there because of the annoying guests, the music hanging around there was okay but the atmosphere was not nice and if you want to have a nice evening in Amsterdam I won't go there

This place had the absolute worst service I have ever experienced! The staff was incredibly rude and showed no concern for customers. The light-skinned girl at the bar had an awful attitude, and the Surinamese man was just as bad! The women at the bathroom door were unbelievably rude—I've never encountered such terrible service in my life. The security staff was also far from professional. Overall, the people here were extremely unpleasant and disrespectful.

So me and my partner come Amsterdam ALOT. We would spend most of the evening here with a shisha and sit outside. Went last week and it was lovely to have "a shisha as sweet as me" from the lovely bloke who always serves us. Until further into our holiday we go mid-day (literally so quiet) and on the door is 2 security (1 man and 1 woman) I smile and ask about us getting our shisha to which the woman comes in my face demanding to search me. i say "dont you even want to see my ID?" she said no and before i could say well ill just leave she starts pulling stuff out my pockets. Then the bloke said we couldn't come in as my partner was wearing trackies (wore them every other 25 times we have been) Never saw this security before and it seemed the female one was on a massive power trip and really rude.

Yesterday night the dj set was amaging, so great vibes💚 Water too expensive, why don let people having a free glass of can water? It would make it a greater club

Het percentage hasj in de cake is erg laag. Ik heb niets gevoeld, ondanks dat ik twee verschillende soorten heb geprobeerd. De prijzen zijn duurder dan op andere plaatsen. De meeste bezoekers van de plaats zijn toeristen.

Nettes Personal und man kann draußen warm sitzen. Shisha ist mit 25 € ziemlich teuer, dafür ist sie aber gut.

Wir haben dort erst gechillt. Später wurde es dann zum Club (wir durften an unserem platz innen nahe der theke sitzen bleiben). Musik und DJ waren echt top. Service war okay und Getränkpreise vielleicht etwas teuerer, aber noch im Rahmen! Die Glocke an der Bar wurde vom Personal öfters mal geläutet, aber Freigetränke gab es keine... 😭😅 Kurzum: Laden mit guter Musik und (bei uns) freundlichem, aber erkennbar teils semi-professionellem Personal. achja... keine cappys erlaubt, wenn dann nur nach hinten rum aufgesetzt... sicherheit und so (kameras)

Came here to end the night from a Pub Crawl. Good music, people were also pretty chill. Pay to use the toilets, unfortunately. Most of the other bars and clubs I had been to had free toilets, so that was a bummer at the end of the night. But other than that, place is pretty cool.
