Copper Branch in Wijk 06 Binnenstad

De onion rings waren teleurstellend: slap van structuur en vrijwel zonder smaak, wat deed denken aan slecht gefrituurd deeg. De cornribs waren acceptabel, maar het ontbrak aan basisvoorzieningen zoals een bord of kom om de afgekloven ribs apart te leggen. Hierdoor moesten ze terug in hetzelfde bakje als de nog onaangeraakte ribs, wat niet bepaald hygiënisch of praktisch was. De Inspiring-Indonesian Bowl oogde veelbelovend qua ingrediënten, zoals vermeld op de menukaart, maar bleek in de uitvoering smaakloos en weinig inspirerend. De Blue Burger had een goed smakende vleesvervanger, maar het geheel was mager samengesteld: het broodje was karig belegd en qua formaat eerder geschikt voor een kind dan voor een volwassene. De bediening liet helaas ook te wensen over. De borden van het voorgerecht bleven op tafel staan toen het hoofdgerecht werd geserveerd, waardoor we tijdens het eten uitkeken op vuile vaat. De Engelssprekende serveerster met lang, bruin krullend haar informeerde niet of we nog iets wilden drinken, noch vroeg ze na afloop of alles naar wens was geweest. Al met al was de ervaring ondermaats en niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Ideal vegan cafe in Utrecht, very broad menu and all well priced.

It's a purely vegetarian restaurant, which we didn't know before our visit, as it's not clearly labeled as such. Unfortunately, the "crispy chicken" burger (pictured) was absolutely tasteless and had a strange texture. The Aztec bowl was also completely unappealing. Instead of salt, they poured oil on the quinoa, and the falafels were dry and unseasoned. It's a shame... but the location is very nice and the staff very friendly.

This place is such a gem!!! The vibes are so cozy and sweet, the waiter was so polite and patient, and the food!! Light, healthy and filling and it’s all plant based! We absolutely loveddd everything we ordered, it was all so so delicious. For dessert we got their chocolate chip cookies and red jam cheese cake- omg BOMB!!! Sooo good, the cookies were soft, nutty, sweet and chewy, absolutely perfect. And the cheesecake was so so good with the jam, paired perfectly! They had cute coloring books with markers too which was such a cute idea, we were coloring a bit before the food came!

Lots of great food options. The staff were friendly and attentive. The mango smoothies was delicious. The toilets were also very clean and provided sanitary towels which is very progressive

The food was delicious! And the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, I was the only one there; a bit more activity would have been even better.

A lovely spot on a busy shopping street where there's a lot going on. Friendly service. The food was a bit disappointing. It has a "healthy and green" image, but most of it is fried. The "club sandwich" doesn't even remotely resemble a club sandwich. In fact, the "perfect pesto sandwich" and the "club sandwich" were visually indistinguishable.

It used to be my go-to vegan restaurant because it was good and affordable. Unfortunately, that's changed, and I now pay around 10 euros more per person for the same food, which isn't worth the price.

I had the Trybeforeyoudie Truffle Burger and it was so delicious and surprisingly light, really enjoyed the exotic smoothie as well! Would come back to check out the other dishes.

Had a wonderful lunch! The focaccia was excellent and the service was super friendly. When I mentioned how much I loved the pecans, they spontaneously gave me an extra portion. The kitchen and service are a great team. Great atmosphere and delicious food!

This year I "discovered" Copper Branch Utrecht, and it's become a regular spot for a delicious lunch. We always order something different from the menu, and it's even inspired me to cook more vegan food at home, which I'm very pleased with. The food is high quality, and the menu offers many delicious and healthy dishes. The decor, now complete with the floral entrance, is also charming and a little different. The service is incredibly customer-focused and friendly, and the location near the train station is excellent. Thank you, and I've already made my next reservation. I'm already looking forward to it!

Smaakvolle vegan gerechten, zonder dat je doorhebt dat je vegan aan het eten bent. Voor blauwe kaas liefhebbers is er een waanzinnig lekkere vegan variant. Drink dan het druivensap erbij. Hele goede combinatie. Kortom, echt de moeite waard om te gaan eten of af te halen. Dat is ook een optie.

Very disappointed. I ordered a burger and a Greek salad. The burger is unbearably dry. I can't understand why they skimped on the sauce despite the high price. Even considering that the meat is plant-based (so it's not juicy), they could have added a reasonable amount of sauce. The Greek salad is edible, but the portion size was disappointing. If you want to eat something plant-based, I recommend not going to this place. It's undeservedly expensive and not tasty.

Genuinely the best vegan place that I have visited so far. Good food, cozy place, nice people!

Came back to give it another chance. Unfortunately, food hasn’t improved since the last three visits. Nachos were soggy and no longer crispy, the vegan mozzarella that is written on the menu seemed to be missing. Not enough sauce for the amount of nachos. The Red-Cool Salad was extremely sour, to a point where you couldn’t taste much else than vinegar. The Try Before You Die Truffle Burger was very heavy but the best part of the meal. The croissant was not crunchy anymore, but the redefine meat patty was prepared well, and the truffle taste was nice, although artificial. Strawberry matcha cake for dessert didn’t taste fruity, nor like matcha. It was more like a green vanilla cake with a sour lime frosting. Smoothie was ok, although small for the price. After this 4th try, I’ll call quits. I love that it’s all vegan, but I won’t be back

It was one of the first times I tried fully plant-based food, and I can tell you that it tasted delicious! I couldn’t even notice the difference. We had the burgers and a side of plant-based chicken nuggets. Those were also full of flavor and tasted great. You can order through a QR code, which is convenient, but if you prefer not to, the staff is happy to take your order, they’re super friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I can definitely recommend it if you’re looking to try plant-based food. It’s now officially on my permanent restaurant list!

We were hungry while strolling around. My wife is vegan. I'm not. Life is a compromise, but not here. I had a burger that was really good. Very fresh and well-served. The prices aren't surprising. They're in the upper mid-range, I'd say. Okay for the location. The value is good. Very friendly and fast service.

Had lunch here in May 2025. Delicious yoghurts with all sorts of goodies in them. And a super tasty smoothie with it. Very nice and cozy interior and staff is very friendly. Recommended!

Still great food and highly recommended! I personally find ordering via QR code less fun and it is not necessary here. It is not that busy. Toilets really need to be cleaned up a bit more. They really had enough time for this. Despite these points of attention, a really good place and I would like to come back

My husband and I really liked the food we ordered (signature Burger with cornribs for him and the inspiring-indonesian Bowl for me). The Tempeh was ultra delicious! All ingredients were fresh and of high quality. Perfect place if you want a fresh meal.

I was served by two beautiful twins on Saturday night. They were so helpful, kind and wonderful. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, good food, good atmosphere and great service.

We enjoyed the poke bowl with falafel and a burger...The falafel bowl only had 3 falafels, I see several photos here with multiple falafels...so that's not so kosher...It's nice that you don't have to look for a vegan option, because everything is vegan!😃 Everything delicious! 👍 English service... very friendly...

A lovely vegetarian restaurant with mostly vegan dishes. Their falafel wrap is just perfectly tasty. The copper themed interior with lots of green plants is a very nice atmosphere.

One of my best friends passed away last November, after a long ordeal as a result of a 2-meter fall into a cellar hatch of Copper Branch in Utrecht. When they contacted her, the operators/owners informed her and her husband that they saw no responsibility for this and blocked them everywhere. Reckless people. Lawsuit likely to follow. Hopefully. Everything is also on video.

A lovely spot to eat a great vegan meal. We had a bowl and a burger; both were delicious. The waitress was super friendly. We sat outside which was nice; but inside it looked like a fairy tale. Beautiful!

Delicious food! Very varied menu with so many tasty dishes that it is even difficult to choose. There really is something for everyone! The interior is very attractive and cozy. The service was great! This restaurant is highly recommended, even for those who are not necessarily vegan.

Nice place especially for lunch, we had dinner here in the evening but it felt much more like a lunch place. A great place for vegetarians or vegans with lots of choice. They don't have meat options. The service was not super fast, but we found out that you can also order online.

Super delicious vegetarian food, with actually super good meat replacements! We had the onion rings, corn ribs, poke bowl, caesar bowl, crispy chicken wrap, and truffle burger, and they were very tasty! The homemade ice teas are also very nice and refreshing! The service however was a bit slow. We waited for 30 minutes for our order to be taken, and when we asked we were told we can also order on the phone. That was easy but we would have appreciated if we were told beforehand. Then we were told they do not have a brioche bun for the truffle burger and that it will take about 20 minutes to make new ones, and we were asked if we would like a normal bun. We were ok with it, but it took more than 20 minutes anyways to bring all the food from that point, and I think they could have just brought the apetizers first and we could have waited for the mains. They brought the apetizers and burger first and then it took a few more minutes to bring the rest. I think however it might have been just a one time experience as they seemed to be understaffed thwt night. The staff was friendly and thanked us for waiting. In terms of prices I would say the place is on the pricey side, but considering the quality of the food, I think it is justifiable. Also as a note, the burger does not come with fries. We made a reservation and I would recommend you to the same, as it was quite packed.

Tuvimos una mala experiencia hace algunos años en la sucursal de cobre, pero decidimos darle otra oportunidad (debido a las críticas). Esta vez fue aún peor. La ensalada roja fría no estaba fresca y sin apenas aderezo. La guarnición de patatas en cuña era demasiado gorda y no crujiente en absoluto. Los dos 'tazones indonesios inspiradores' eran terribles; secos e insípidos y el limón 'para refrescar las cosas' tenía que ser pescado fuera de la salsa sate. Sin fantasía, sin colores, sólo un tazón aburrido. Uno de los nuestros pidió una cerveza. Eso no estaba en stock. Otra: tampoco en stock. El tercero fue (Korenwolf Witbier) pero encontramos uno de los otros - que no estaba en stock - sin embargo, en nuestro recibo! Esto es lo que le da mala reputación a los restaurantes veganos. No volveremos. Lo único bueno es que la camarera era amable y hacía todo lo posible.

Cozy restaurant with vegetable-based dishes. It is a special experience to be able to choose from all dishes on the menu as a non-meat eater. The desserts are dangerously delicious.

We won a giveaway to eat dinner here and we really enjoyed it! My favourites were the blue burger and the pecan brownie. I must say I was a little sceptical about vegan blue cheese but the burger was delicious! We will definitely come back, maybe for lunch next time. :-)

Everything was perfect! Had a delicious meal, including the award-winning mille grazi burger. Tasty drinks, such as kambucha and pumpkin spice latte. The cakes and chocolate chip cookie with ice cream are also favorites. Very friendly employees who also think along with you if you want, fast service too. You can sit inside and outside.

Food was quick and great tasting. Went for the truffle burger, the pesto burger and the poke bowl. All for me, they were all great and different enough to really taste them Was so good I did actually have to come back while I was in town. I had the copper club sandwich, the exotic smoothie and the nutty mango bowl. Was unsurprisingly great. Left very satisfied

Food is more on the pricey side, but quality and taste are incredible. We were happily surprised about everything we tried. Loaded Nachos were great, my bowl was amazing and my Partners blue cheese burger was incredible! We came here with a non-veg couple and they also liked it a lot!

Nice and tasty restaurant in the middle of the city. Tastefully decorated and also fun with children because of the play corner. Everything here is plant-based, but this is also recommended for omnivores ;-). Our favorite is the truffle burger on a croissant, but we also like to eat the bowls and wraps.

Always excited for vegan places as I’m vegan for 8+ years so I’ll always support these places. But price quality wise this place is wayyyy to expensive. We paid € 5.90 for fries + €1,50 for a tiny bit of mayo this makes one small portion of fries € 7,40 which is absurd. At the cafeteria you have a family size bag of fries for 4 people for less and patatoes literally cost nothing. We also ordered a burger but the burger comes without fries and still you pay € 14,- for it. So for a burger and fries you pay close to € 22,- !!! The burger was definitely nothing fancy, for this price and you would at least expect fries with it. We ordered nachos as well. Nachos are corn triangles a bag of nachos cost maybe not even a €1,-. We got half a plate of nachos with some guacamole and a bit of sauce drip. But paying close to € 10,- for this is extremely over priced!! We had lunch with the three of us and had a bill of close to € 80,- which comes down to more than € 25,- a person for lunch. This is to me insane. Price - quality wise.

The music in the background completely matched the ambiance. It is not without reason that it is the best restaurant in Utrecht! Just walk around and have a nice and honest (vegetarian) meal here!

What started as a regular lunch at Copper Branch eventually became a food tasting event. Together with my dining companion we shared two dishes, and for dessert we were allowed to taste a new dish that was not yet on the menu. The flavors were fantastic. As an “omnivore” (not vegetarian or vegan) I would normally not eat in vegan restaurants, but the flavors were so good that I did not miss meat. Copper Branch is definitely a restaurant to go to for me, even as an inveterate meat eater. A sustainable choice. The team is extremely enthusiastic and will take you on the culinary journey if you ask. Their enthusiasm and passion more than completed the experience for me.

Wat begon als een gewone lunch bij Copper Branch, werd uiteindelijk een proeverij van gerechten. Samen met mijn tafelgenoot deelden we twee gerechten, en als toetje mochten we nog een nieuw gerecht proeven dat nog niet op de kaart stond. De smaken waren fantastisch. Als “alleseter” (niet vegetarisch of veganistisch) zou ik normaal gesproken niet snel gaan eten in veganistische restaurants, maar de smaken waren dusdanig goed dat ik vlees niet gemist heb. Copper Branch is voor mij absoluut een restaurant om naar toe te gaan, ook als verstokte vleeseter. Een duurzame keuze. Het team is enorm enthousiast, en neemt je mee op de culinaire reis, als je daarom vraagt. Hun enthousiasme en passie maakte voor mij de ervaring meer dan compleet.

Great. The entire menu is vegan and there are several hot and cold options for breakfast and lunch. also desserts and coffee. We ordered burgers and they were very delicious, I recommend! The attention is also very good.

They all tastes great, and the blue cheese in their burger is so melty. Makes me wonder how they figured out what to use to mimic the real ones. Service was so lovely, ambience was serene. An easy 5/5 from me!

Delicious food! Truly a paradise for vegetarians and vegan eaters. The burgers are really tasty and you can't taste the difference between real meat/real cheese and vegan meat/vegan cheese. I had the signature burger, which was very tasty. The signature sauce was also really tasty. It is all freshly prepared in the kitchen. This is the lunch spot!!

Hicimos reservas a este lugar y nos recibió una camarera amable. Encontramos la mesa reservada con el nombre de mi esposa en ella (buen toque! ) Tuvimos algunos aperitivos excelentes — aros de cebolla y nachos cargados. Teníamos dos platos de hamburguesa, un tazón de pique y un envoltorio. El plato de “prueba antes de morir” que compré fue un pequeño croissant con un tipo de hamburguesa más allá de la carne. Muy pequeño. Y por el precio, al menos podría haber sido servido con ensalada y / o patatas fritas. Aquí es donde baja cuesta abajo. Los dos pedidos que no requerían cocción no llegaron. Quince minutos después, alertamos a la camarera y nos dijeron que el pedido estaba siendo preparado. Veinte minutos, todavía sin orden. Otros diez minutos más tarde, la camarera nos dice que dio nuestras órdenes a la cocina pero “se olvidaron”. Nos dijeron que podemos comer postres en la casa. La camarera vuelve, todavía sin orden. Ahora estamos recibiendo bebidas en la casa. Llega la comida. No tienen el postre que pedí (se acabó, necesito hacer un lote nuevo). Me conformo con otra cosa. Nos vamos. Al final, la comida no era tan buena. Los interiores eran agradables.

Fantastic little restaurant in the heart of Utrecht. Food is unique and very tasty, fair prices, staff is super-friendly and atmosphere is relaxed. Not a crowded bulk restaurant where only the numbers count, but quality over quantity. Please give this hidden gem a try.

My husband and I had bowls which were fine, but my son had the kid burger and sadly we have to say it's the worse veggie burger we've ever tasted. The bun was too sweet and the massive amount of ketchup didn't manage to hide the sad cardboard taste of the fake meat. Next time we'll get him some falafel.

Sorry, but the food was really not good. The starters were already meager and not very tasty. But the most disappointing dish was a “taste before you die”-truffle burger, a main dish for around 18EUR. What we got was literally a standard Albert Heijn sized croissant with some meat replacement paddy and some not-so-tasty sauce. To round off this culinary trauma, the whole thing was cold and served with a few pieces of lettuce that were clearly not from today. I wasn’t sure whether I should laugh or cry. If I hadn’t been with a big group I certainly would have returned this.

I had lunch at Copper Branch in Utrecht, it was a plant-powered feast on my plate! Their dishes are a work of art of colors and flavors, and the portions are just right (no half bites here). Copper Branch is highly recommended. Plus, the atmosphere is so relaxed that you can linger there for hours.
