This afternoon, July 24th, we wanted to relax on the beautiful terrace. The friendly waitress offered a bottle of water and (unsolicited) brought us a small plate of bread. We indicated we wanted to eat something a la carte—not particularly hungry—and ordered the ajo blanco and the bisque for my wife, and the chef's entremets and the trifle for me. My wife also received a glass of cava; I don't drink alcohol and stuck with water. The bill came to €102 afterward. I don't usually check the bill and simply paid it. It seemed a bit steep in the car. Calculating the menu, I came to €65, though not including the water and bread. I doubt it was €35. I can only conclude that I was charged twice for a two-course meal, and I feel quite ripped off. Furthermore, my wife initially received the wrong dish. According to the waitress, it was "in the kitchen," but then it took so long that I had already finished mine. In short: avoid it. If you want to spend (a lot of) money, drive to the Harbour Club in Vinkeveen. You'll also be right on the water there, and you won't be ripped off.

Mediocre staff. They don't pay attention to guests, but are constantly interacting with each other. They don't refill their dishes, forget bread, etc. We weren't allowed to eat outside. It was too hot inside, and there were flies. When we left, it turned out that tables had already been set outside, so after a while, we could eat outside. We really would have liked that. Time for a customer service course!

We had a delicious meal with a view of the passing boats and great service.

We had the lobster menu, but we didn't find everything equally delicious. The crème fraîche was too intense, and the red onion didn't complement the lobster. All in all, the lobster didn't quite shine in this menu. We've been here before, but this time it was disappointing.

We enjoyed a five-course lobster meal. Generous portions and a lovely wine pairing. The ambiance was great and the service was very attentive.

Delicious food. Authentic dishes. The menu was very well put together. The wine menu was also excellent. The service was super friendly and fast. Personally, I recommend going there at least once.

As always, a real treat! Oysters, eel, and Pata Negra. Three-course lunch, beautiful whitefish, and a delicious sweet dessert. Two delicious bottles of Meursault, a fine whiskey, and Irish coffee. Superb service. Pure enjoyment.

The staff is rude and not service-oriented; they prefer to chat with each other rather than serve the table. The last few times have been disappointing. We won't be going there again.

What an absolute must is Slangevegt. Here you come not only for delicious food, but also for an excellent ambiance. Both private and business very suitable. The trick is to reserve in time, so that you can still get a table on a day with nice weather. After a wonderful afternoon sailing with the sloop, we moored at the restaurant and then sat outside at a table by the water. The food was tasty. Something went wrong with the service when serving, but the missing dish was quickly delivered. Top experience.

We had the 5-course surprise me dinner with wine arrangement. The wine was delicious, the service very friendly and educated in the field of wine and that is where the positivity ends. The food was substandard, little and weak in taste. After 5 courses I was still hungry, no carbs to be found.

The food was not good, we had the 5 course dinner arrangement and it was not tasty/much, we went home hungry. Main course was ribeye, lots of tendons and fat and tasteless, no carbs, that was a loss. Wine arrangement was delicious and the service also great. Not to be repeated.

A M A Z I N G !!! What a place. The location is absolutely stunning, like stepping into a postcard. The food was fantastic, and the risotto was honestly the best I’ve ever had. What really made it special, though, was the lovely lady who served us-so warm and friendly, she made us feel completely at home. 🥰 Just a perfect experience all around. Can’t wait to go back.

We had a fantastic evening, sitting there by the water. The four-course menu was full of delicious taste surprises. My children were happy with the wine arrangement. What made it all complete was our great waitress. Her humor made our evening complete.

It started off like a fairytale evening. The arrival at 18:00 at Buitenplaats Slangenvegt was great. Beautiful terrace, and we were assigned a nice spot by the water. We were helped by a very nice boy with curly hair. Friendly, humorous, hospitable. Probably too cozy with us because after that he was directed into the dishwashing kitchen and we didn't see him again until 22:15. Instead of him, a smart aunt with lots of tattoos and a nose ring came. Something you don't expect at an establishment like this. That wasn't so bad but during the evening she turned out to be a somewhat too free, almost rude waitress who doesn't really know her place and certainly didn't know what was being served. The blond curly boy had asked if there was anything they should take into account. Yes, no shellfish and no peppers. We had indicated in advance that we would go for the chef's menu, 6 courses. Expectations were high. Dish 1: fish with leek, varnished with shell and shellfish juice. Mistake!!!! No excuse but the message that it had not been communicated well. Putting down your own colleague. The fish was tasteless, overcooked. As beautifully presented as it was tasteless, the dish was. 2. A bouillabaisse of shellfish. Adapted for our allergic table companion. We had to be very careful because the glass and contents were piping hot! The taste was delicious. The temperature warm. But certainly not hot. (As soup should be eaten) 3. 3. Falafel with aubergine dip and a grey goo that we could not figure out what it was. The falafel was a kind of dry oil ball of chickpeas but here too quite tasteless. 4. 4. We were ready for something to nibble on. A meat dish. Again, it wasn’t really clear what it was, but it was streaked with fat and tendons and lay in a puddle of gravy that really stung the tongue. Was this the intention? Or had the fermentation process been set in motion. It stung the tongue so much that we wondered if ‘popping candy’ had been processed in the gravy. This tough piece of meat was accompanied by cauliflower. (I could have sworn it was Romanesco, but no, it really was cauliflower!) The ravioli was excellent! But that was all. In the meantime, the tattoo lady regularly came to our table without saying anything. Very uncomfortable. She also felt the need to loudly and clearly announce at a neighborhood table what strange guests she had had the night before. I wonder how we will be talked about the next evening. Downright indecent behavior. 5. 5. After this, for us, came the highlight of the evening. A cheese board with 5 excellent cheeses! Accompanied by a toasted sandwich, caramelized walnuts (delicious) and a cheese stick and sweet potato honey. Why was that cheese board so good? Because it wasn't made by the chef himself, I think. 6. Then came the dessert. First the cutlery was thrown on the table. Greek yoghurt with blueberries and pistachio ice cream that floated away on the plate. The yoghurt was strengthened with gelatin and a tasteless slice of it was served on a kind of tasteless blueberry cake. Disappointing. No blueberries seen but an amareno cherry. 1. 2. Time for coffee and tea. 'Do you have café au Lait? No, cappuccino but that's the same' according to the nose ring. I said that there is indeed a difference but the lady didn't agree with me. After all, they are the same ingredients. In short, we went from one surprise to the next the entire evening. With 4 people, a bottle of wine and an aperitif we spent €478!!! This was absolutely not worth it! What a worthless place and service! Except for the friendly curly boy who we gave a big compliment at the end of the evening because of his nice personality! In short: never again Slangenvegt! Give this place a wide berth and keep your money in your pocket! J.Boer

Lovely place on the Vecht. Cosy atmosphere and competent service. The food is tasty and beautifully presented. The only thing that was really disappointing was the dessert! The chef's dessert is a teaspoon of strawberry ice cream with 2 and a half strawberries. Even at my regular 2 star restaurant de Groene Lantaarn they call that a pre dessert or pallet cleanser. Really deeply sad!

One of our favourite restaurants for years, excellent cuisine, excellent service and the location on the Vecht is worth its weight in gold.

Quite last minute reservation on the busy terrace. Surprised with beautiful/tasty dishes from the chef. When ordering, I indicated that sweetbreads are my absolute favorite. Unfortunately, I only heard just before the main course that this had already been prepared with ingredients that were unsafe for me (allergy) and that it would therefore be something different. To then still serve a dish that did not disappoint, a perfect duck breast, has never happened to me before. Although the terrace was completely occupied, we found an average of an hour per course a bit long. Although the lovely shaded table and the well-kept glasses made the wait perfectly doable.

Slangevegt is located beautifully on the Vecht. The atmosphere is great but the price-quality is not great. The food is ok but not exceptional in particular the vegetarian options. Would not recommend.

We had drinks on the terras by the water during Cortana and returned yesterday for for dinner. What a great place! Lovely and attentive service, great atmosphere and quality food. Not cheap but worth every penny. We went back for drinks in the afternoon today. Again great vibe. Hope they expand the vermouth card.

One of the waiters was curt, seemed disinterested. After we asked if we could also get salt and olive oil with the bread, it was 'planted' on the table. He also served us the starter coolly, almost emotionlessly. But, the rest of the evening was more than made up for by a very friendly, good humored and professional lady. And the food was perfect!

Fantastic location on the water. You can sit outside very nicely and it is nicely decorated inside. The service is friendly, but not aware of everything they have. In addition, we went several times without anything to drink for some time. There were a lot of assumptions that caused a lot of miscommunication. This certainly created the atmosphere that evening.

Easter Monday menu used with family. In one word, great: the greeting upon arrival was warm, as was the service and very professional. The young man who brought the oysters was cheerfully talking about their origin, the young lady took into account the food preferences we had indicated. Overall a wonderful experience! Will come again for lunch soon!

Been several times and beautiful location. Unfortunately it was a bit chilly for the great terrace on the Vecht. Enjoyed another nice 3-course lunch menu, preceded by 2 amuses of your choice. Everything accompanied by a (bob) wine arrangement. So far everything is great. We also understand that there must always be room for a new generation of catering professionals in training. But our table lady was not yet ready to actively serve all the beautiful things. You can expect her to be able to tell you something about the dishes and wine, but that was not easy. Fortunately, her disarming smile and her work ethic made up for a lot, but she has to go back to school before she starts working as a waitress.

It was all a bit mediocre. The staff is mostly alright, but could be better on many points. We were with a group, 7 people at first, we all had a wine already. Our 8th person arrived and they totally forgot to ask him what to drink. The entire building looks like it's falling apart and also on the inside things started to break. There's moss on certain places, cutlery isn't always clean. The wine section is mediocre at best. The food was either boring but fine or interesting and not tasty. A lot of things are fine but you just expect better for the price. Can't recommend.

We enjoyed the "Valentine's menu" yesterday. The reason I put this in brackets is because there wasn't much Valentine about it. The food was delicious and the wines served with it were perfect. I just missed the whole love theme. No red, no pink and no hearts anywhere to be seen. It was like going out to eat any other day. A bit of a shame, but we ate well and sprinkled hearts at home 😍

Very friendly and hospitable. The apple pie I ordered came straight out of the refrigerator and was therefore too cold in my opinion. Shame.

We have had lunch here three times in the last three months, the first time with the two of us to taste and get an idea of ​​the atmosphere and service, the second time with a large group of 9, the last time on Easter Monday. April 1, 2024 with five participants. Because the participants at the lunch had different allergies and wishes, we opted for the chef's menu both last times. People were very alert to this, especially with regard to peanut allergies, the kitchen responded well to the various wishes, it was no problem. . It was very busy all three times (the first time on a Friday afternoon, mainly a lot of business lunches), yet people remained extremely friendly and correct, everything went reasonably within the normal time, really worth kudos! The food always tasted very good to us, prepared with care, with surprising flavor combinations. We were told that the menu changed every month so that we could taste different dishes three times. At the rear there is a terrace on the Vecht that seems to be interesting in the summer. You can also rent a boat for 15 people for a boat trip on the Vecht. Very large (free) parking space on site, which is really pleasant. In short: very good food, a bit on the pricey side, correct smooth service, pleasant atmosphere, parking available for free. Highly recommended! We will come back more often. EDIT: On Boxing Day 2024, we enjoyed the lunch menu here together with children and nun partners, each with different allergies and dietary requirements. It was fully booked, people were also sitting upstairs. The food remained surprising, and what I was very impressed with was that despite it being so busy, everyone was extremely correct and friendly, we hardly had to wait for our food, the coats were also found quickly upon departure, perfect kitchen , but also perfect service and perfect organization. You don't just eat a sandwich or salad for lunch here. It is quite expensive, so the price-quality is faltering. The chef's special (fish) was delicious, but 30 euros for a piece of fish with sauce and a little bit of other garnish is quite expensive for lunch. The vegetarian option, with different types of vegetables, was also just under 30 euros, which is really out of line. We were cold, and a small electric heater was immediately installed, which was a nice service! All in all a pleasant experience, but do realize that this is a luxurious place to join ;)

They took the time to go through the menu and provided detailed explanations of the dishes, such as the vegetarian options and the chef's menu. The enthusiasm with which they answered questions, even if it meant that they occasionally had to walk to the kitchen for additional information, showed how customer-oriented they work. Their smiles and eye contact gave the feeling that you are truly appreciated as a guest. The food was top quality. The dishes were beautifully presented and the plates perfectly matched the style of the restaurant. Everything was clean and tidy, from the shiny silverware to the glasses. Although the meat cooled a little faster due to the open plates and limited garnish, the taste was perfect and this was just a small detail in an otherwise excellent meal. We dined with a group. We opted for a four-course menu with matching wine. The food was ok. Starter was fish. Tasty. Intermediate course: rösti with a burrata sauce; tasty too. The main course ribeye with some side dishes. The ribeye was glassy and chewy. Dessert was also tasty. With one exception, service was substandard and completely uninspired. A waitress disinterestedly read the label of the bottle to tell us what wine it was. In total we paid €450 for this experience. Not worth it for us and certainly no reason to return here.

We had made a reservation on Sunday, October 27, 2024 for a lunch for 6 people. Reception, table reservation and ambiance were excellent. The service was excellent. It's a pity that the main course served for one of the ladies was unfortunately not in accordance with the ingredients mentioned in the text of the dish. It concerned the Surf & Turf Salad: no crayfish, no smoked halibut, but a few shrimps. This detracted from the lady in question's lunch. In the summer a beautiful terrace on the river Vecht, which provides extra atmosphere with all the boats sailing by. In autumn and winter a great location to enjoy the kitchen. The service is correct and pleasantly informal, without becoming too popular.

Such a magnificent restaurant; exceptional food and setting - we’ve visited several times before however this most recent visit was a complete disappointment. The staff were completely disinterested, non informative and generally seemed annoyed at us as guests. We spent two and half hours at the restaurant, waited forever for service, got one drink each only and generally were ignored for the better part of the afternoon. Had we not been familiar with the spot we would Never want to return - possibly the staff had a bad day or they’ve become complacent with their reputation. Was a real shame as we were celebrating a birthday, What a pity
