When you walk in, order Nah Nah tea, and are asked if it's with or without sugar, you already know what time it is. And sure enough... Nah Nah tea with sugar was sweet and bitter, so not right. It's cold in this place. Hard chairs.

I ordered an Uber Eats from them, generous portions, great packaging, and it was fast and delicious, I recommend it!!

The bisara was mushy, the couscous was tasteless and not ripe yet...a shame; I might as well have ordered pizza. The delivery driver was the only positive one; he was on time and friendly...certainly no experience with Moroccan cuisine as it should be.

Subject: Order not received – very disappointed Today I placed an order with Couscousbar Amsterdam Oost through Thuisbezorgd. Unfortunately, the order didn't arrive, even though I did receive an email stating it had been delivered. This is therefore incorrect. My address and phone number were entered correctly, so it's unclear what went wrong. What makes it even more frustrating is that Couscousbar is unreachable by phone – they simply don't answer. This means I can't report the problem personally. I have since filed a complaint through Thuisbezorgd, but I also want to express my disappointment here. I regularly order food, and these kinds of experiences are very frustrating. In short: very disappointed with the service.

Can't ask for any more authentic couscous made by the awesome team! The vegetable stew with chicken on top of couscous mmmmhmmm!

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! I got food poisoning. I took one bite of the couscous and there was a nasty long hair in it. I went to report it and got a new one, but it was cold.

Went here for dinner last week with a colleague. I didn't enjoy it at all. Sorry, but this doesn't even come close to the Moroccan couscous I'm used to. Dry, tasteless, and definitely not worth the money. Worthless! If you're going to open a couscous bar and represent Moroccan cuisine, do it right, with love and flavor, and not just offer some vegetable poke bowl in the shape and name of COUSCOUS. What a shame!

I absolutely love the Kippendij couscous bowl with Moroccan vegetables and topped with olives. I do not get an upset stomach from it, I take the food out so I don't know what the atmosphere is like but the service ordering could be better / friendlier.

The food is decent, if you don’t mind playing russian roulette with a visit to the bathroom. I pretty much only feel safe ordering soup from here now, as the last two times I ordered the Couscous Royal (woefully overpriced) I was in a… bad way. Let’s just say that. The experience you have is entirely dependent on two things: A - when you order (order early so you don’t end up with the dregs of the gastronomes, this is why I suspect I get so ill there), and B - who is serving you. Nobody that has served me has been anything comparable or mistakable as “friendly”, but at least they gave me more than a sliver of bread to have with my soup and didn’t charge me an unspecified 75 cents extra at their discretion. One person working there gives me a healthy portion of bread with my soup, maybe too much, I haven’t seen her since so maybe they fired her. The last woman scowled at me, gave me a few crumbs and rounded my order up to the next euro. Go here if you hate knowing what to expect, hate any room in your house other than the bathroom, and love spending money for no reason.

What a great place this is!! Went here for dinner with a group of friends and the service and food was really great. Super nice owner and also a very nice cat!!

Way too little chicken in the portion (10%), I called them and was told these are the new rules. I had ordered more often and apparently the quality is different these days. I also had to wait more than an hour for my food.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience with Couscous Bar was genuinely disappointing. I received the wrong order and one of the meals I paid for was missing. Instead of calling to clarify or offer an alternative, they put cookies in the bag as an apology…? We don’t eat cookies, and they’re definitely not a replacement for dinner. One of the missing items was soup — which was specifically for my girlfriend — and instead of helping, the person I spoke to on the phone told me it was my fault for ordering too late. She then suggested I could come back tomorrow to fix it — on King’s Day, no less? 🤨🤨 When I tried to explain calmly that the issue was on their side, she raised her voice and then hung up on me, and ignored the phone when I called her back. No responsibility, no proper solution, just blame and poor customer service. Really disappointing, especially considering how much I was looking forward to trying their food.

The couscous dishes are really tasty en good portion. There is free water to grab. The owner is also very friendly.

Got food poisoning after ordering food here, we only ate this in the evening and became deathly ill during the night. Then we haven't even mentioned how small the portion was, 2 mini pieces of chicken, hardly any vegetables + 95% couscous. And that for about €40.- While we have also ordered here in the past and the portions were much better in proportion. There was just far too little this time, the container was far from full, which in retrospect is fortunate - because food poisoning is no fun, we will never eat here again!

So you pay €7.50 for 4 date cookies without dates. We ordered 12. For 12 pieces you pay €22.50 excluding delivery costs. You just get dry cookies with a very thin layer of date paste. You can hardly taste the dates. What a scam. This was not the case before. So this is doubly disappointing. Never again. An official complaint has now also been filed with Ubereats. What a shame for Moroccan cuisine.

The food wasn't as, hmm, as expected. The young lady seemed overwhelmed, but was very friendly. and since we were the only guests, it didn't feel comfortable. It's certainly very nice there when it's busy.

We paid 12 euros for some peas with pepper (Tangine mama Nadia). Does not look at all like the picture in the app we ordered through. Portion size also ridiculously small for the price (there is nothing taken out of the box yet this is exactly how it came). Taste was okay.

I ordered the tfaya chicken on Ubereats and the food was ok but lacking flavor. I felt the dish to be overpriced as they gave me mostly couscous and onions with a small amount of chicken.

Ordered the Tagine with chicken thigh fillet via Thuisbezorgd. There was a 1+1 free promotion at that time. I ordered it at the end of the morning for delivery at 6:00 PM The food arrived on time. The portions were generous and it tasted delicious. The chicken was tender, the vegetables had a light bite and it was wonderfully seasoned and deliciously spicy. I will definitely order here more often. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture, it looked so delicious that I completely forgot 😂

I was on the street by chance. I got a fairly large bowl of couscous with warm vegetables, chicken and parsley on top. For 16.50 euros it was plenty. A little broth to soak it all up. I also appreciated the service, fast, efficient and friendly. Definitely my new favorite place to eat in the East.

The food is bad and I don't think it represents pure Moroccan couscous. My stomach hurt right after eating there. The Dutch employee's treatment was unfriendly and while paying, they took an additional amount from us for the onions!! I don't recommend it!

This place instantly transports me to Morocco! 🇲🇦 The food was not only healthy but also incredibly delicious 🤤, and the portion sizes were just perfect! 😊

I LOVED this place for a long time, the food is delish. However, I recently ordered online, the vegan option i chose had 20% discount and i only got halve the meal and halve the toppings, honestly the box was literally halve empty...I ordered the same thing a week before and picked it up, i had to eat that amount of food in two stages..Sadly it seems they only try to keep customers happy that come to pick up food and rip of the ones that order online, very very shameful to have paid Euro 14,- for a few bites of couscous with hardly any toppings.

I ordered couscous with chicken thigh via home delivery. Received a little chicken, a few slices of carrot and two serving spoons of couscous. Really too little. Not a meal for an adult, and I'm not the biggest. I actually just feel robbed. I won't order from here again.

We passed by by chance And finally took a “harira” break. Very good Moroccan soup (the real flavor, I'm Moroccan 😉), served with real traditional bread, Restaurant decorated with great taste. I really liked it 🥰

After visiting this establishment I am seriously considering reporting the theft€23 for a portion of couscous that left both my wallet and my stomach in disarray. Where the price flew high, the portion size and quality plummeted. A 'composite' couscous, they say? More of a mish-mash of profit margins, if you ask me. Prospective visitors, be warned: the only filling you'll find here will be the emptiness of your wallet.

Veel en veel te duur geworden, smaak ik ook niet meer wat het is.. vooral heel veel couscous weinig groente en weinig kip.. de smaak van traditionele couscous is ver te zoeken (als Marokkaan weet ik wel hoe die moet smaken). Helaas want ze beginnen ooit echt goed. Maar misschien is dit couscous voor de niet Marokkaan.

Nice ambiance, looks neat and tidy. The couscous chicken, which costs almost €17, has about 70 grams of meat, few vegetables, a large portion of couscous and sufficient sauce (markah). The “richly” filled harira tasted OK, but not richly filled. Afterwards I saw that it should contain chickpeas, but unfortunately I didn't have any. I indicated this but received the answer that I did not cook it. With the €7.50 soup you get 2 bites of bread. My son and I were really hungry for Moroccan food, but there are much better and cheaper restaurants in Amsterdam. I would advise those who know Moroccan cuisine not to go here. It will be very disappointing to an expert. If you are not familiar with Moroccan cuisine, it is fun to try.

Medewerkers zijn niet klantvriendelijk en eten is niet vers! Medewerker gaf toe dat de couscous en het lamsvlees niet vers waren en als compensatie mocht ik een nieuw gerecht uitzoeken, dit aanbod heb ik afgeslagen. Ik heb hier dagenlang diarree aan overgehouden. Mocht je op zoek zijn naar verse en lekkere couscous dan ben je hier zeker aan het verkeerde adres!

While the food is quite tasty, the balance is a little off as you get a lot of couscous with too little topping. I would say that at the end you have more dry carbs than tasty toppings. Also, considering that you have to pay extra for some toppings, you get very little of them.

Definitely not what I was to consider a good couscous. And also way too expensive for the poor quality of all that I ordered. It just tasted as if it came from a factory. To me, nothing from my order tasted anywhere near like a proper home-cooked couscous.

Net voor het eerst gehaald en de dame die mij helpte vroeg ik om advies wat zij zou kiezen en ze heeft de beste combinatie gemaakt! Was verrukkelijk, ik zal zeker vaker terug komen. Super vriendelijk en een super leuke schone zaak!

Afgelopen woensdag erg goed geholpen door Laila!! Top service.. couscous op bestelling en wij waren tevreden met het resultaat.

Ik had per ongeluk de verkeerde maaltijd besteld, maar dit was geen probleem. Ik werd vriendelijk geholpen en kreeg zonder gedoe de maaltijd naar wens mee. Ik had de vegetarische couscous met kikkererwten. Het was ontzettend lekker! Veel groenten, lekker gekruid en niet duur! Ik was ook dankbaar voor de goede service😊

Couscous bar Amsterdam is DE perfecte plek om een stukje Marokkaanse cultuur en een explosie van smaak beleving, bij iedere hap die je binnen krijgt. Ik ben van Marokkaanse komaf en kan je garanderen dat je op geen andere plek een betere couscous zult krijgen dan hier. Het wordt tenslotte altijd geserveerd door mamma’s in de keuken en laten we nou eerlijk zijn, wie kunnen er nou beter koken dan zij doen?!

Het was zo onwijs lekker. Zoals altijd. De couscous is op traditionele wijze gestoomd en ernaast kun je kiezen uit verschillende opties/soorten couscous gerechten, zoals lamsvlees, kip, merqyez of vega. Ook heb je verschillende groenten en kan je ernaast kiezen voor extra’s toppings (zie foto) . De couscous smaakt werkelijk fantastisch en ik kom graag mijn gezonde en zeer voedzame maaltijd bij hen halen. Heerlijk genoten samen met vrienden. Je kan er namelijk ook gezellig zitten! Een aanrader mocht je heerlijk willen genieten van een Marokkaans traditioneel gerecht.
