Extremely Disappointing Experience – Unhygienic and Unprofessional! Our visit to this restaurant was absolutely terrible. We found a hair in our biryani, and when we brought it up to the owner, he didn’t even acknowledge the issue or apologize. Such a lack of hygiene and professionalism is unacceptable. We will not be returning and strongly recommend others reconsider dining here.

Decent food. More home like taste. If you are roaming around since days and want to eat from back home then it’s a good pit stop.

Looks can be deceiving; although the place looks a bit sketchy it is really good food with a really nice owner and his family. Food is cheap and a lot and traditional Indian. Many vegetarian options as well. Special shoutout to the rice

probably the most authentic pakistani biryani in all of amsterdam. the chai was spot on as well! the qawali in the background literally transports you back to pakistani highway restaurants.

I was roaming around in Amsterdam. I suddenly saw an Indian Pakistani restaurant and went inside.His behaviour was very good and his food was also very good. I really enjoyed it. After meeting him and eating there, I recommend this restaurant to all of you. You will like it.

This restaurant deserves 0 rating for the food they provide and the hygiene they maintain in this restaurant. To start with they serve raw some kind of bread in the name of naan - keep chewing a bite 320 times and it still will feel weird . Dal makhni was „yellow moong daal with chic peas ( white chhole)“ 😅 . It was hilarious how confident the chef was about it and challenged us in indirect words when we questioned him about it . If you want to check on the hygiene of the restaurant notice the hands of the cook / the plates and general cleanliness of the area where the food is kept on display ( same is also heated and served as your order ) Only thing we could eat ( and had to because we were hungry and tired af to go anywhere else at that hour ) was rice and dal tadka - for which I give this restaurant 1 . We ordered several other things ( Shrek kababs, paneer , chicken tikka) - they all tasted old and stale and poorly prepared . This place should be checked by authorities for quality control and hygiene management. The worst Indian/ Pakistani restaurant we have ever been to. If you want a good experience in Amsterdam, think twice and read this again before entering this place .

Liar and fraud. They did fraud to me, forced me to pay more than what was the actual bill. The person misbehaved with me I told him that I am new here and will come daily he said I don't care if you don't come again and charged more without any reason. Very pathetic and rude behavior. Shame on them

Poor hygiene, dirty toilet, stinky table , can’t believe this restaurant exist middle of the city. Someone must do something about it. Also looks to me the guys working there are illegal immigrants from Pakistan.

The people were very nice. We were in a hurry and they tried their best to get food ready in a few minutes. They charged us much lower than the list price.

Not a good food at all and a bit expensive as well. Chicken biryani which gave funny belly a soft drink and tea cost 24 €

Omg, the food here is so delicious and cheap. They give you so much stew. The owners are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Disgusting Nasty Unhygienic overpriced food with some of the worst and rudest people ever! This place needs to shut down. I don't understand how are they still in operation in Amsterdam city center. Dirty Place and the owner will try to overcharge you. Will not accept credit card payment when it clearly mentioned on their door that they do accept credit cards. Avoid at any cost. I have warned you!! The place smells so so bad 👎 😫 Awful!!

I was disappointed with the restaurant's high prices considering the low quality of the food. The dishes lacked flavor, and the overall dining experience did not justify the cost. I expected better value for the money spent.please don’t visit this restaurant

My recent visit to Curry Express (Pakistani restaurant) in Amsterdam was deeply disappointing. As a Pakistani, I anticipated fair treatment, but instead, we were overcharged and undervalued. Despite our shared heritage, the owner saw fit to charge €45 for a chicken karahi that lacked freshness and flavor. Additionally, the total bill exceeded €100 for a modest meal, including one plate of kebab, naan, drinks, and the aforementioned karahi.

It's the most homely South Asian food experience. It's probably run by a single family. You'll find their relatives/friends serving, and kids running, and that really makes it feel like you're eating at your own home while your family is doing their thing. And the food tastes amazing. Don't go for any aesthetic, just go for the tasty food.

Very friendly and kind staff. Probably the best lamb biryani I’ve ever had. The Vindaloo and saag were also amazingly tasty.

Does not accept Maestro, Bancontact and Mastercard cards. The tea was very good.

Food was v warm. Cleanliness I have doubts. Naans were freshly baked. Potato cauliflower curry, cauliflower was not cooked well. Biryani was ok. Chicken curry had 2 heaped tablespoon full green coriander. Though the curry on display looked tasty but what theu brought on table was like chicken with green coriander but anyways we were hungy n food was hot.🙂

Don't go for sitting or ambience, this is the best Pakistani or Indian food in Amsterdam. Runs by a small family, it feels like home cooked food. Highly recommended.

Eten is heerlijk, ook redelijk goedkoop in verhouding met andere plekken. Je krijgt een vol bakje mee. Voor ons is het zeker een vaste eetplek.

I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to eat Indian/Pakistani food just like what we get back in our country. We really liked their Aloo Parantha, onion pakoda and Milk Tea. A not so fancy place but the owner is very kind and the food is reasonably priced.

Curry Express is a snack bar combination of shoarma and kebab outlet and an Indian - Pakistani eatery specialising in dishes from the Punjab. It would not be an obvious choice for anyone wishing to dine out with curry, due to its small space, shortage of tables and lack of restaurant ambience. It does however offer some of the take away food available at very reasonable pricing. Curry Express offer a daily vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian meal for under €10. Notes in denominations of €50 and above are not accepted. There is a good selection of tandoori specialities, as well as chicken, lamb, fish, King prawn, biriyani and vegetarian dishes, available in mild, medium and spicy versions. This is a family run business. Authentic and delightful tasting curries are lovingly prepared in the kitchen in the rear. The restaurant also produces a "Son of India" range of dishes designed to cater for between 1 and 6 persons. Ordering on line is a bit of a 'hit and miss' affair and definitely a question of luck. The menu is often featured on delivery sites such as Thuisbezorgd but then vanishes for weeks on end, presumably as most deliveries are done by members of staff. When deliveries are in effect, these are carried out promptly and courteously. Curry Express is open till midnight and is definitely one of the city's best takeaways.

Food wasn’t fresh, no taste of the food, if you want to wash the hands toilet is full of trash bags, too expensive for the quality they provide, it’s written the accept bank cards but actually they don’t ask for cash so ran to two ATMs as one was off line, and please check you are charged correctly because I was charged 3 euros extra as my bill was 26 and they charged me 29.

I was looking for a halaal eating place and was told to walk along Spuistraat and I would be sure to find one. I entered the establishment with a healthy appetite hoping to find something to eat that would be both filling and delicious. Sadly I was disappointed on teh latter criterion. The food was bland and had evidently been prepared several hours before so had lost its freshness. The meatballs lacked flavour and were a disappointment. The general ambience was tired and a bit neglected. Th eowner/chef was a stern man who did not reach out to make conversation or offer a welcoming smile. Pity!

Estábamos buscando almuerzo indio, pero la mayoría de los restaurantes indios abren solo por la noche. Encontramos Curry Express y otro restaurante indio Ashoka. Curry Express es un lugar muy pequeño con capacidad para 7 a 8 personas. Pero la persona que lo dirige es una buena persona. Tuvimos buena comida a un costo razonable.

After a long walking tour, found this restaurant, had 3 person lunch menu ( 27 Euro), was good, 4 curries, rice, roti, hotel was small, but the guy was very honest, Taste was really good.
