Are they british or why arent there any spices in the meat?

They don’t know how to make good burgers. The patty was dry, the tomato was way too thick and cold, and the sauce was the only thing I could appreciate. Unacceptable for the price

I went to buy a burger on September 17, 2025, and was rudely served by a fair-skinned woman with long, black hair, apparently under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The company should check the health status of its employees.

Food was super good. My wife got the veggie burger and my toddler had chicken tenders. A++ The service was great! Can't wait to come back!

I was really disappointed with my visit. The burgers looked promising, but the reality was very different. The patty was dry and overcooked, the bun fell apart immediately, and the toppings tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. On top of that, the fries were soggy and greasy. The service didn’t make things better either slow, inattentive, and it felt like we were bothering the staff just by being there. For the price they charge, I expected way better quality and a more welcoming experience. Definitely not worth the money. I won’t be coming back, and I can’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a decent burger.

You’ll be full, but not amazed. The fries (thick-cut chips) were extra, but they were tasty and worth adding on. It’s a solid, satisfying meal, but don’t expect anything extraordinary.

Worthless restaurant. Take an order, don't deliver, can't be reached by phone and then close the place. I wonder if the money will be returned. Unreliable.

One of the worst experiences ever. I had to wait over 25 minutes for a cheeseburger, even though it was quiet. Completely confused employees. When the cheeseburger was finished with just a slice of cold cheese, I complained. Damn, the "boss," who hadn't been working the whole time, came over and said, "You're rude, you're not getting any food." I then got my money back. Stay away from that place.

Ordered the double smash burger which isnt a real smash burger. The burger bun wasnt really toasted, it was cold and raw. Fries werent crispy. Service took very long. The experience ruined my day for 10 minutes, which made my girlfriend angry too. Can recommend the natas from the portoguese guy to enjoy life again.

This review concern their collaboration with uber eats. You order through Uber, the order gets cancelled, the driver marks it as delivered and nobody notify you. Paid almost 30€, Uber cannot do anything and the butcher doesn’t even consider to give you an explanation or contact you for a refund. Wonderful when the driver told me on a phone call “my shift has ended, the restaurant ran out of stock, good luck”. Free money right? Tried to call them. Money gone.

Ordered here 2 times, both times the order never arrived and I didn’t get any money back. Nor any explanation or apology. My order was put on the status ‘delivered’ but nothing ever arrived. Because it’s supposedly ‘delivered’ uber won’t reimburse. Be warned, don’t order anything here because they scam you.

Really nice burgers. Juicy, perfectly on the point and a satisfying size.

I asked for a recomendation with my burger order and they said the one with cheese and i say ok. Then they give me a burger withput cheese. When i complain they just put cheese on top, they dont melt it and nothing. No nice.

I’m 43 and this is the best burger I have ever eaten. It’s not even close! Can’t believe that this isn’t rated higher. Had the double smash and, oh my god! We’re drinking and trying something for starter and main from each place… wish I’d just had more of these burgers! Unreal. Literally unreal.

The waiting time was ok, more or less 10 minutes. Surprising for a place this busy on Saturday. Food was pretty bad for the price (20 eur for a double cheeseburger that wasn’t exactly to die for, another 7 eur for sweet fries and sauces were extra). They have no trays, they give you all of your food in your hands with only one napkin per meal. Getting an order through was extremely hard as Nobody seemed to speak any proper English or Dutch. The kitchen seemed quite dirty.

I liked the veggie burger but my boyfriend found the meat patty to be in need of more salt. The fries were okay, we thought they could have given a bigger sauce container. The service was a bit slow but we thought they were understaffed so it’s not their fault.

The Burger was very good (the simple butcher) however it was not specified that you had to pay extra for the fries, the Burger itself was already €11.95

Slow and poor service, to say they look unhappy for you to come by is an understatement. Food is all right, a bit overpriced but that's on par with Foodhallen.

They used to have one of the best fish&chips in Amsterdam. Now they are serving you few pieces of kibbling with some fries on the side that are nowhere close to nice and big portion of cod+fries+two sauces that they used to have. Shame you're screwing your own products

Disappointing experience at The Butcher On the advice of my girlfriend, we decided to order from The Butcher, as I am usually eager for a good burger. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. To eat: The burger was cold and nothing special. For the price, I expected at least something unique, but the bun came across as uncharitable and seemed like it could just as well be a supermarket burger – which I can make much better at home. The fries were limp and not cooked properly, which made the whole thing even more disappointing. Service: The service was also disappointing. Of the five employees we encountered, not a single one cracked a smile. For a place that profiles itself as trendy and cozy, you would expect a bit more cheerfulness and spontaneity. All in all, a Big King XL from Burger King far exceeds what The Butcher offers in terms of taste and price-quality. This was my first and last time here; a waste of money and effort.

Overall I would say this is a passable burger by American standards. They call it smash but its not really. Flavor was kinda plain, its obvious they depend heavily on sauces for flavor. I dont know if it was my order size or what but they literally just hand you the burger and fries. No bag, no plate, nothing. I think there are better places on the food hall.

The Burger was very good. The meat is the main point from the whole thing. It is not an outer space burger but you will enjoy it. Price wise i would say a bit overpriced because with a burger fries and sauce u are around 20€.. but give it a try

Unfortunately the Aberdeen Angus burger tasted no differently to the normal beef burger and the truffle burger was distinctly lacking in truffle. A lot of hype and not worth the price. The food hall itself is pleasant enough.

Don't go here! Terrible service, overpriced food (nothing special) and the employees were very unfriendly. They overcharged me for a burger I ordered, assuming I ordered a 'double' burger, an assumption that really made no sense. Then indicated that I just wanted 1 burger, and they refused to give me my money back. Instead, they got mad at me for asking this and didn't understand the problem. Anyway, I'll never come back here again.

Bro, who cooks the buns, needs to slow down. He heats them, and then they're sat there for 15 minutes to go cold and dry. Food would be a lot better if the guys cared, but I've seen funerals with happier people. The aura is so low. Burger was burnt.

Very slow service, it took them 15 minutes to serve just fries. It wasn't crowded at all, only 3 people were waiting for their order.

So if you want a dry burger bun, an overcooked burger, and very bad service, go for it! But this was the worst butcher burger that I ever had, you should take the line and wipe that bloody face of it! That has then more facts

Chose the butcher at the food halls. Once ordered, we had to wait 30 minutes for 2 hamburgers and fries, when I asked they forgot to make the fries for us (it can happen), meanwhile our hamburgers were already ready. The fries were undercooked, but the burgers were super tasty. The prices of the burgers vary between 11-15 euros. All in all I won't be back anytime soon. (Ask you to send an email to discuss it further with them, but then they don't respond to the email!! Very bad service)

Simple, nothing special, burgers. The patty was totally well done, nothing close to the photos in ads, the bun was not roasted, the sauce is simple 1000 islands, in general just not-bad-simple-burger and too far from the ads and pictures in Internet.

Although things appear in the burger fever sometimes, the staff’s treatment is very bad, more than the description. It was the worst experience and I do not recommend it at all.

It's kind of good, but the staff need to be a bit more disciplined. Some employees insult customers while working, and this prevents us from trying it again.

The Crazy Chicken burgers and fries were delicious. Fast delivery on Amsterdam pride Day, which is amazing. They were open when the other locations were closed. They forgot the egg on the burger though.

Some of the fries were raw. Cheeseburger tastes like a BigMac for €13.

They order 2 hamburgers with fries and forget a hamburger and some fries. You try to have it brought to you a little later but it is impossible to contact them. Total, ruined dinner.

Smashed burger with fries ordered 3 times via Uber Eats. Received 3 burgers and only 1 fries. Tried to make contact, but they have no phone number and no response yet via Uber Eats. Burger was okay, but the fries were cold and limp. And you pay 19.50 per menu for that. Not recommended when ordering.

Very long waiting time. We spent more than 40 minutes waiting for 2 burgers. We weren't the only ones waiting for their orders. We finish the beer long before the burgers arrive. Regrettable :( I won't be back.

After walking a lottt and asking a lottt of people, we reached food hallen .We ordered The Butcher, alongiwth fries. They even gave us different mayo for free and even gave us ketchup. Read in a lot of reviews that they charge extra for ketchup. But not for us. Fries were not the best that we had, but the burger was good and the sauce also was good.

Guys, the guy that was cooking went to pee in the toilet WITH THE GLOVES ON!!! I ATE THE BURGER AND NOW I WANNA 🤮 🤮 I SWEAR I MET THE GUY IN THE TOILET, and when he got back he didn’t even bother to change gloves… I followed him. Ordered via Uber. I saw on the map that the delivery person was going to make a long detour, I immediately sent a message and saw that he turned around and drove well. This resulted in unnecessary time wasted. The fries were lukewarm and too much salt! For a change I ordered a double smashed burger with cheese. The burgers are very crispy and hard because they have been smashed. The bun was very greasy, which made the whole thing very greasy. There was also very little lettuce on it.

It was a great meal in a vibrant atmosphere…… I’m generally not a lover of burgers but the look and smell of them was far too much to resist.It was all fresh and delivered hot and full of flavour mine had a aubergine sauce which did not overwhelm the flavours of the burger or sweet salad . A great place to eat and enjoy against a lot of competition. Incidentally the service we received was friendly, professional and very attentive thank you team butcher hopefully see you soon

Niet doen!!! Veel te dure frietjes, waren o.k maar € 9.50 voor 2 kleine zakjes is écht over de top. Je krijgt er een lullig vingerhoedje 'mininaise' bij. Dat gaf ik meteen aan. Nee, niks aan te doen. Je krijgt er niks bij! Gewoon wéér naar de kassa en opnieuw afrekenen. Dan heb je nog bijna niks en 10,50 voor twee frietjes betaald. Niemand spreekt nederlands en er kon geen lachje af. Nooit meer hier; afrader!! 👎

The staff was so rude. From the beginning to the end. Asked for more ketchup and was told I had to get in line to pay for ketchup. Whaaaattttt??? Pay for ketchup for the fries I just bought? Okay, got in line, he said 50 cents for ketchup. Got him some money and he said he couldn’t accept money. My wallet was in my purse on the table with my people waiting for me to get back with some more ketchup… end of story I ended up getting back to my table without ketchup and very disappointed with their treatment. What a bad first impression of this city. Avoid!

Worst experience I've ever had. Food was barely average and service was poor. I asked for a side of ketchup after they gave me my food and they said I would have to go back to the register and stand in a 10 person line to order a side of ketchup when the lady that gave me my food could have just given it to me. Instead, the food gets cold while waiting in a long line. Absolutely, absurd and poposterist.

Far too expensive fries, they were ok but €9.50 for 2 small bags is really over the top. You get a lame thimble of 'mininaise' with it. I stated that immediately. No, nothing can be done about it. You don't get anything extra. Simply go back to the cash register and pay again. Then you still paid almost nothing and 10.50 for two fries. No one speaks Dutch and there was not a single smile. Never here again; not recommended!! 👎

We ate here for lunch during the week. Very little waiting, delicious sandwich and friendly staff, one of whom even spoke in Italian! :) Average cost of AMS
