Went there at midnight around closing time, considering that, there is still no excuse for the following. Fish and chips were inedible, like a plate full of chum. They couldn't split the bill. And on top of everything, it was the most expensive restaurant in the entire duration of the trip. In addition, the staff was adamant that they can serve us, yet what we ended up getting was rushed subpar service with greedy undertones.

Incredible location near the bustling markets, central Amsterdam would be lost without unique little restaurants like this one. Clean, fresh food with taste at the forefront, Downtown burger boasts a variety of dishes to suit all taste buds, including the little ones to which Mario provides splendid entertainment. Lovely eatery a must try.

Terrible experience. I asked for a red beer recommendation and what they brought was not a beer at all — it was basically a berry juice. To make it worse, they served it already opened. When I asked for a replacement, they told me they couldn’t change it because it was already open. Completely unacceptable and disrespectful to customers. WORST BEER IN AMSTERDAM. Definitely do not recommend this place.

The food is terrible and above average in Amsterdam. The service is nice but low competent. I wish I had not chosen it. It was definitely a bad choice.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much, but I gave the rump steak a chance. The steak was really delicious! Perfectly medium as requested, and tasted really average! Fries were good too. The salad was also very good. The staff were pushy when ordering. They tried to push me at any price.

You're lured in with big promises of quality and portion size. Ultimately, you're disappointed. The only good thing about the burger is the bread and the price. A classic tourist rip-off. Only the location is good. The restaurant also offers almost all types of food, from burgers to fish to Wiener schnitzel.

The extremely rude and insolent waiter, an older foreign man of about 65, repeatedly harassed my 17-year-old daughter by trying to seduce her—when she could have been his granddaughter. I had to confront him about this three times. This behavior was not only unprofessional but also disrespectful and completely inappropriate. On top of that, the food wasn't good either 😡

I recently dined at this establishment with my daughter, where a waiter, I estimate to be about sixty-five years old, behaved in an extremely rude and inappropriate manner. He repeatedly attempted to seduce my seventeen-year-old daughter, which I had to correct several times. This behavior was not only unprofessional but also disrespectful and completely inappropriate.

I had a lovely time as soon as we sat down they were very friendly mario is such a lovely guy aswell as the rest off them one off the workers escorted my mum over the road , so over tall great service they were very funny people , food was amazing ! I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was probably one off the best I've ever had the sauce was not fake at all it was rich and delicious and the perfect amount to fill you up my mum said her food was also lovely she had the quesadillas they were cheesy and delicious over all id say this place is a great place to go as they will take care off you !

The owner is super rude and intense. He keeps screaming very loudly at his stuff in the most rude way. Made a lot of people move tables so he could fit in more people. As soon as we paid he asked us to make the table free even though one person of us was just at the toilet. Food was not good as well.

So dreadful. We spent as a group 1000 euros. We had to ask for every drink the table was full of dirty glasses and no service at all. . Toilets were so dirty and the staff so rude. I would never go to this place again. It was appalling and they should be ashamed to treat clients like that. Go anywhere but not here. The bar next door was much better so choose that instead.

They told us we were still in time for dinner, but then they rushed us to order because the kitchen was closing. We couldn't eat in peace. They gave us a large, and therefore more expensive, drink without asking us if we wanted it. And the soda seemed like it came from a bottle, as it barely had any carbonation. The mustard that accompanied the bitterballen tasted like a dead rat. Not at all recommended.

We visited Downtown Burger in Amsterdam expecting a decent meal, but unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. The food was mediocre at best — bland, overcooked, and definitely not worth the price. But what really ruined the night was the manager’s behavior. He was incredibly rude, not just to us, but also to his own staff, shouting and speaking disrespectfully in front of everyone. It made the whole atmosphere uncomfortable and unprofessional. There are so many better places to eat in Amsterdam — I strongly advise avoiding this one.

We were called Germans when we arrived, and a soda is 4,50. Absolute tourist trap.

The location of this restaurant is truly beautiful — right on the square, with lots of potential for a nice dining experience. But unfortunately, the food and overall experience just didn’t live up to it. I ordered a 300g steak, and I honestly doubt it was the full portion — especially since it arrived already slightly cut on the plate (which I found quite odd and unprofessional). It just didn’t look fresh, and the side dishes felt like they had been pre-prepared long ago and thrown together at the last minute. The taste? Not bad, but really not great either. Just plain average. Another thing: if you're dining alone or with one other person, don’t expect to get a seat with a view. I was seated near the entrance, probably one of the least pleasant spots in the place. The waiter kept walking past constantly, which made it hard to relax. I saw a couple try to get a table near the front, but they were told “you’re only two,” and then they just left. In summary: beautiful setting, very average food, and poor table allocation unless you’re a big group. A classic case of style over substance. I wouldn’t return.
