10/10 all around!! We came here as a group of 9 for a birthday party and were soo happy with the food, drinks and service. We all went for “A bit of this, a bit of that” and absolutely devoured it. We even got to take home the extra pittas we did not get to 😊 super nice staff. Thank you all!

This restaurant steals middle eastern dishes and calls it lIsraeli. These dishes have been invented before this country ever existed. Shame.

This is a fantastic place if you're craving some high quality hummus. The dishes are quite big and everything was delicious (especially the pickled onions). The services was fast and everyone was friendly. I highly recommend the lamb dish with hummus and the roasted cauliflower. The lemonade was also super fresh and tasty. Im definitely coming back. The only minus is that the music was bit loud and the bathroom door doesn't lock properly.

Friendly service and a varity of delicous small dishes served with a fantastic pita bread. Shaksuka was so-so but the other dishes quality did compensated for that. Small but tasty selection of beer and wine. I will definitely come back!

It's a lovely and humble place with great service and a variety of delicious middle eastern dishes, at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend the hummus and the halva desert.

I had the hummus with cauliflower and a lemonade, they were very good! Unfortunately, my tip was charged 8 euros too much. Unfortunately I'm disappointed. -> Update: Thanks for the quick and super uncomplicated clarification of the misunderstanding! I am now very satisfied and would love to come back!

I had a great dinner for two here. The service was very friendly and fifteen minutes (!) after arrival the table was full of delicious Middle Eastern snacks. Both the shakshuka and hummus were delicious and the fa-love-fel is my favorite of the evening. The portions were nice and large: 3 dishes were more than enough for the two of us, and the price was not too bad. In short: highly recommended!

Anytime I’ve got people over and we want to go for a bite, I take them here. The food is amazing, their hummus and pita are freshly made everyday (and it’s probably some of the best I’ve had) it’s a shared dining concept and I would describe it as middle eastern tapas. I’ve done take away and ate it in parks also sat in and the vibe is always amazing. The staff is really nice. Probably my favorite place in Amsterdam east. Two dishes I’d recommend are the roasted eggplant and their shakshouka.

Het restaurant zit op een fijne locatie dichtbij de RAI. Binnen is er genoeg ruimte, je zit niet opgepropt. We hadden het tasting menu en kregen een tafel vol met allerlei verschillende verse hapjes, en zaten daarna goed vol. Leuk restaurant om met vrienden te zitten.

Everything is so delicious, the music and the atmosphere are fun and the staff is kind and helpful. Despite the short visit, it was decided to return to the restaurant on the same trip to enjoy it again 🙏

The Israeli representations in the restaurant made me feel uncomfortable. I can’t support this restaurant if they claim Arab food as Israeli.

Humus was good, waitress super nice but the music was loud. Asked twice if it could be softer. It made it difficult for us to talk to each other. In the end we escaped outside. Too bad, but perhaps we were not the target group. 3 ladies of about 60.....😆

A lovely location found by accident when trying to escape the rain with a friend. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and ready to give food and drink recommendations based on preferences. I’ve ordered hummus with a mini shakshuka and a sage tea, and my friend got the falafel from the special menu. We both really enjoyed the food but I must say her choice was better. The egg on my shakshuka was very overcooked, I wish I was asked how I’d like the egg before. The food was really good nonetheless. Tea didn’t taste like much, just had a strong sage scent. The restaurant is really cozy and has a very warm vibe. It was great for a catchup with a friend. Will definitely be back whenever in the area!

Cada vez que estoy en Amsterdam vuelvo a este lugar. Los sabores son inigualables y se me antoja cuando vuelvo al Reino Unido. Si estás planeando ir a cenar o cuando hace un poco de cuerda intenta reservar ya que los asientos interiores son bastante limitados pero nunca he tenido ningún problema.

I called the restaraunt to ask where the head chef is from. As a Lebanese, I prefer not to eat at an Israeli establishment, especially when arab food is served (which they claim, but is also older than their country hahaha). I was told the head chef was Syrian. I insisted on asking more questions. She then admitted the head chef is Israeli (why lie?), but did not want to get into it. Every customer has the right to know where they are eating, and should not be lied to just for a cheap buck. I get to choose where I want to eat and will not be manipulated through lies. If I had fell for this lie and ate at the restaraunt, I would have been deeply disappointed. Respect your customers.

While searching for Middle Eastern food in Amsterdam, we came across this bistro located at 3 places and wanted to check it out. We chose D&A Oost one for a lunch on a fine Sunday afternoon. We had an amazing lunch and absolutely loved our experience. For the drinks we ordered the Alexander beer and Kombucha Iced tea. We ordered the Shakshuka, and it was perfectly spiced with fresh ingredients that made each bite a burst of flavour. The accompanying salad was refreshing and vibrant, with a great mix of textures and tastes that complemented the dish beautifully. And let’s not forget the warm, fluffy pita bread; it was soft and perfect for scooping up the Shakshuka. We also indulged in hummus chicken. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, tender, and paired nicely with the creamy hummus. The dish was really tasty, garnished with fresh herbs and a drizzle of olive oil that added a nice touch. At the last, we could not resist Knafeh for dessert. It was not too sweet or bland, and we loved every bite of it. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We would like to visit the place again for sure.

Wonderful small place to eat delicious food. Falafel is the best I had ever, hummus is creamy and slightly sweet, the chilli sauce is amazing, a combination of chilli and cilantro ans parsley, never liked cilantro but now I adore it. Meatballs are very good, mix of lamb and beef ground meat, very tasty. Also loved the Israeli beer, for IPA lovers, the Alexander green is amazing, slightly sweet and bitter

Tenía humus de pollo y el aceite de oliva era divino. Un gin tonic especial con especias y rodajas de naranja lo hizo aún mejor. Muy recomendable.

2 years later I am finally making this review feeling compelled to share our lovely experience all the way from Australia. Unassuming yet beautiful restaurant. We had very little idea how to navigate the food scene in Amsterdam but so so glad we stumbled across this place. The food was absolutely incredible. Still now, my husband and I regularly refer back to the amazing Israeli food we had here. My husband typically being skeptical of majority vegetarian dishes, he was so surprised how much he enjoyed the variety and flavours in each dish. I found myself ‘happy dancing’ with each mouthful. We had a lovely waitress that gave great suggestions and made our dining experience very enjoyable. If ever we are lucky enough to travel to Amsterdam again, we will certainly be visiting!

This type of food is not my thing but even if it was,the chicken was floating in a see of hummus in my plate. It was so heavy it took me hours to digest it. The waiters were friendly and fast, but way overpriced for the food quality though.

Such a delight having brunch here in Amsterdam! Hummus with chicken was okay but the chicken was not as great as I was hoping for, however their hummus with cauliflower was absolutely bangin and it comes with a lovely mix of little side salads, dip n breads. Their 5 falafel balls served with tahini is also really great and also goes well together with the hummus with cauliflower. I wouldn’t recommend their roasted eggplant as I didn’t enjoy that one as much. Service was friendly, the prices are fair. They make good cappuccino too! If you like hummus and falafels, this is definitely a great place worth checking out! Looking forward to try the shakshuka too next time.

You can visit this bistro in three different places in Amsterdam: East, South and West. We went to East. A nice menu with various tasty dishes. For those who cannot make a choice, there is a mini-tasting. That's what we went for. Very tasty! You get just enough food. Not too little and not too much. It's a pity that the dishes were not explained at the table, but that didn't spoil the fun (taste). Various meat and vegetarian dishes. Unfortunately no fish as part of the tasting. We had a delicious meal. You can sit outside (covered) or inside. Atmospheric bistro where you can also peek into the kitchen.

Great location outside of the noise of the city center. The walks from the center is worth while. The food is balanced, tasty, carefully served with a delicious taste. We randomly walked in for a late lunch and really enjoyed it. Will definitely come back!

Super nice food in a comfortable setting. I was slightly sceptical of the size of the dishes, but I had the cauliflower hummus and was completely stuffed by the end. The pitas are amazing and all the small side salads are a great addition. Would highly recommend!

For years I have been getting the tastiest falafel sandwich to take away at D & A on the Westerstraat. (Started at 7 euros and is now 13.50, not cheap but really delicious) Today I wanted to get it too, but once I arrived it was closed. So because I was really looking forward to it, I took the bus to the other location. So here too I asked for a pita falafel. The waitress said we don't have that. The cook shouted but I can make it for you. I said that would be great. Then the owner came and said no, we don't do that. There were 3 people in the tent. Where is your customer service?

Food was horrible and I got food poisoning after eating here. Appetizers did not compliment food.

This gem of a restaurant is easily overlooked, tucked in at the head of the Czaar Peterstraat, across from brouwerij het IJ. The atmosphere is warm and hip, with quirky lamps, leafy plants, and artful tilework. The staff is so welcoming and lovely, whether I come with friends or with kids (who they always provide with pencils to draw). I am so in love with the hummus and cauliflower dish, that I keep coming back from more. The falafel is fresh and crispy, just as it should be. The halva parfait is a perfect desert. You can sit outside (can be covered when it rains) or inside. The perfect spot for a (big) lunch or lovely dinner. You can make it quick or take your time, this place will accommodate your wishes. Prices are very reasonable, especially since the quality and taste is *chef's kiss*. Enjoy!

As someone who loves hummus, I think this is where I ate the best of my life, and you can find it in lots of varieties. We were very well advised and welcomed in a warm manner, like at home, a real pleasure. A restaurant not to be missed under any circumstances if you are in Amsterdam, don't hesitate to drive a little, it's definitely worth it!

We had the literal best time here. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was unbelievable, the staff was so friendly we felt like we were part of the family. It would be a shame if you missed this restaurant during a visit to Amsterdam. There is also a very cool brewery with a Windmill across the street as well. We will miss this place.
