What a gem of a place in the middle of Amsterdam. My friend and I found this little cafe and were welcomed by a lovely member of staff who was friendly, chatty and really made us feel comfortable. We had pancakes which were delicious. A great place for a coffee and food. Would highly recommend.

We had a great experience at the Davies Amsterdam. We arrived there in a Saturday afternoon and there was a few tables available, the space is small but still have a cute vibe. We asked for the chefs recommendation which is the Lelie Pastrami sandwich. The sandwich was really tasty and they serve a really good mustard as well. Service super friendly, which is not very common in Amsterdam. I definitely recommend this place and will pay another visit soon .

My family visited because of the good reviews but we our experience was underwhelming. For 13 euro I had the coppa sandwich which contained toasted baguette of poor quality, a few coppa slices which were just ok, a smear of ricotta cheese (weird combination and tasteless), and a few super thin slices of cardboard tomato and red onions. Any neighborhood bar in Spain caters better sandwiches for a fraction of the price. My husband had the pastrami sandwich which was just ok but nothing amazing. The sandwiches took 20 minutes to make. We were disappointed and would not recommend the place.

A very sweet sandwich shop located in the Jordan district. We tried the chef's signature Lelie pastrami sandwich. I thought it was quite delicious, but I have one small criticism: the pastrami can be a bit standard. A more intense smoked flavor would elevate the sandwich. If you're in the area, definitely give it a try. (If you don't like hot mustard, ask them to use less.)

A cozy little place with character, with seating both inside and outside. But beware: when it's busy, it becomes a game of musical chairs. Finding a seat—especially outside—is truly a matter of luck. The pastrami sandwich? Highly recommended! Perfectly balanced: the fresh acidity, spicy mustard, and that delicious smoked meat… Every bite was a hit. I'll definitely be back for that. The Mumbai—the only vegetarian option on the menu—surprised me. A hearty, well-filled roll with creamy melted cheddar. The flavor had a nice kick: not scorching hot, but a sharp edge that lingers just a little. Perhaps a bit on the firm side for some. In short: a charming place with sandwiches that will make you happy. Definitely worth cycling or making a detour!

While waiting on my order someone came in to tell the chef it was the best sandwich he ever had. I wanted to regret ordering a different sandwich than this ecstatic customer, but mine was still incredibly tasty. Guess I have no other choice but to come back asap to try it :)

Yes, these are them. Well-filled sandwiches. Broodje Lelie was really great! Meat was abundantly present and the sourness with it made it well balanced. Bread looked nice and did not fall apart, ..... so really great to slide such a whole thing inside! The steak tartare sandwich was also completely it. Crispy potato on it was just enough for that bite to finish it off. If you love animals, then you really have to go here!

Staff is super pleasant and accomodating. Small shop with not a lot of seating, but the food is absolutely worth it!

Davie’s Amsterdam is a must visit when coming to Amsterdam. The food is delicious and the people that works in the shop are great. We had the vitello tonnato sandwich and a classic sandwich. The ingredients are fresh and Davie makes everything himself, the bread is sourced from special local suppliers and the final result a selection of gourmet sandwiches that beyond looking fantastic they are also delicious! The staff is super helpful and friendly, they are always available to provide recommendations!

The mustard was sharper than I'm used to, so I didn’t enjoy it much. But the bread was really good, and the meat was absolutely amazing. Definitely a place worth trying, and the staff were very kind.

It was a place we were very curious about in Amsterdam. We chose the Lelie sandwich upon the recommendation of a Turk who lived next to us and was very good :) The mustard on the sandwich was especially good. There is nothing to complain about the special meat inside. The owners of the place were also very friendly and cheerful. Definitely add it to your Amsterdam list.

Based on nice stories and good reviews Davies was already on 'the list'. Small business but cozy. Nice people. You feel like a guest and welcome. The expectations were high and were more than fulfilled. Delicious !!! Too bad because now we have to go back to A'dam a few more times to try the rest of the menu :-)

Great sandwiches in the heart of Jordaan! I had the vegetarian one with curry and potatoes in white bread. Crispy, hot and cheesy! Delicious sandwich! The other ones with meat also looks fantastic! Small menu but high quality. The staff is really kind and welcoming. The have a few cool books next to the seating area on the right, like Anthony Bourdain‘s Kitchen Confidential. Can recommend! Would be great to have a couple more vegetarian options.

The price/performance ratio is okay, especially for Amsterdam prices. The ambiance is average, there's plenty of seating inside, and the service is friendly and quick. The taste is very delicious!

Great Cafe/Sandwich shop tucked down a side street. We called just for a sandwich which was very good and good value. We had a bit of a wait as it was busy and the sandwiches are freshly made. There is seating inside but it is small and limited.

I've finally found a proper pastrami sandwich in Amsterdam that isn't pekelvlees!!! Don't get me wrong, I love pekelvees, but it's not pastrami. Everyone working here is very nice, helpful, and informative about their meats. Can't wait to get back here 😋!!

The classic Pastramy is amazing and the staff is more than cool. Brought the wrong sandwiche and gave one from the house. Heads up for this starting enthousiast. Simple but steady. Love it!

Delicious pastrami sandwich! Of all the sandwiches on the menu, this is by far the tastiest in my opinion, perfectly seasoned and always fresh. Add to that the friendly staff, and you have a place you will gladly return to. Absolute recommendation!

We were very pleased, only the mustard could have been less or we had to remove it, it was too difficult to eat. Sometimes it overpowered the taste of the meat. The bread and meat are really delicious. The price is also reasonable for this meat ratio, 14eu

This was a must do on our list after seeing it appear from a food Vlogger and did not disappoint! We went for the Pastrami Sandwhich on marbled bread, the pastrami itself was super tender and there was plenty of it though a little tasteless I would say but the quality was brilliant! We only got the 1 as it was around 18 euros for the sanwhich but we shared as we really wanted to tick this off our list and we were tempted to get another for the train journey home on our last day! Would definitely try another of their sandwiches or other options, the staff were really friendly and happy to chat about the local area and suggestions so overall a really nice atmosphere and is tucked down a cute little street so you can have a rest bite out of the way!

The pastrami sandwich is one of the best snacks I've ever had! Very good quality meat and paired with a spicy, absolutely perfect sauce with horseradish and mustard, plus the crispy bread. Really a highlight! 😌

We had the pastrami sandwiches, the pastrami was tough as an old boot and the taste was just not there, really bland. Felt like they cooked the meat for 10 mins in no rub. Really disappointed after reading so many great reviews! Maybe it was just an off day

We tried pastrami’s sandwich and Salmon focaccia. The first one was good but too much pepper and too much mustard, but we’re italian so we know we don’t really like mustard, this is my opinion. I suggest not to put mustard in the sandwich , maybe change it with garlic creme or something light like that. The focaccia was good! I really appreciated the service !

They recommended it to us and the couple seemed very attentive, but they didn't have ice, the sandwiches were served with a mustard so strong that it didn't taste like anything else, I would only recommend asking before adding so much mustard or reducing it with a milder sauce, I had to run away if I hadn't told them personally.

The employees are very attentive, and I think the prices are quite good. The meat is really high quality and delicious. If you're nearby, I definitely recommend you stop by. You can fill up with a sandwich. Only the ventilation inside was a bit inadequate when we went there. we stink :(

If you come as a tourist, do not come here and expect an incredible taste after visiting many different tastes and restaurants. The sandwiches and meat are really high quality. You can see how it's done in the open kitchen. It's a flavor worth trying for those who haven't eaten Pastrami before, but it's nothing more than a good sandwich. The employees are friendly.

Fantastic food. Between us we had the steak tartare, the pastrami and the cured salmon sandwiches and all were stunning. I had the pastrami and it was perfection, a world away from any other pastrami I have had. The pickles and mustard were perfectly judged. The ingredients are spectacular and treated with such respect and love. We had a taste of the Coppa Ibérica and it was beautiful and melted in the mouth. It is not remotely Japanese but it reminded us of the Japanese culture of doing one or a very few related things to perfection; the best ingredients and perfect execution. So if you want a deli menu with 40 different sandwich options then you’ll be disappointed but if you fancy anything on their menu and come and try it, I can’t imagine you’d be disappointed.
