Mr. Mokum in Haarlemmerbuurt

Came here recently on my trip to Amsterdam, and was treated with the loveliest service ive ever had to be honest. You can get lunch, coffee, merch soooo many hot sauces and even a tattoo. The lady downstairs in the shop was very nice and accommodating to myself and my friends, they had nachos and a range of dips to try and certainly know their stuff about everything they sell which is great. Me and one of my friends had tattoos done and the female tattoo artist was so warm and caring when I explained my tattoo and its meaning to her. She was chatty and so friendly so me and my friend wanted to give her a special thankyou. Recommend to everybody visiting Amsterdam 💗

They really have such a variety of sauces and so many delicious sauces to taste. Would 100% come back again.

If you're looking for hot sauce, *this* is the place to be. All the different flavours you could imagine, and everything from mild to blow your head off. There's tasters & the staff is also very knowledgeable.

A rollercoaster of the senses in a hotness paradise! As a self-proclaimed chili junkie, I couldn't resist paying a visit to Joe's Hotshop on our trip to Amsterdam. As soon as I walked through the door, I felt like a kid in a candy store - except everything here was designed to set my taste buds on fire. Mission: Find the hottest sauce I'm usually juggling 3 million Scoville drops to get my food up to temperature. But that should change here. After a brief consultation, I held the “Sudorfic” in my hands - a sauce that promised to deliver both flavor and spiciness. The taste test With shaking hands and a sweaty forehead, I took the first drop. BOOM! The spiciness exploded on my tongue like fireworks. But unlike many sauces from hell, there was actually still flavor left! It was like I had found the Holy Grail of hot sauces. Warning to beginners Be careful, dear newbies! This sauce is not for the faint of heart or untrained tongue. She could bring you to your knees and make you call for your mother. Conclusion Joes Hotshop took my heart by storm with the “Sudorfic”. Finally a sauce that is not only hot but also tastes good! My palate dances samba while my body simulates a sauna. Perfect for anyone who likes to dance on the culinary precipice. If you are visiting Amsterdam and love spicy food, you must stop by here. But remember: pack tissues and inform your relatives - you may need them!

A wonderful breakfast spot with delicious food and refreshing drinks! The friendly staff and lovely atmosphere make it a perfect start to the day.

It’s changed management and a local gem is now turned into a yet another tacky tourist shop. Gone are the good food, service and cozy vibe - all replaced with bottles of hot sauce only. All pics are of the old place so don’t look at the reviews. Such as shame it’s gone! The new owner should at least change the name and stop trying to ride on the previous rating!

This used to be one of the gems in Amsterdam. I used to recommend it to everyone. They’ve since made the menu smaller. Upped the prices significantly. Changed the opening hours to be like any other place in Amsterdam. And, aren’t even reliable to be open when they say they will. Really sad as that was everything that made it unique and why this was one of my favourites.

I was only there to get a tattoo. The owner is super nice. The establishment has its vibe. The tattoo artist, Alejandro, a great guy, with good karma 😉, close and an ink professional. Thank you very much for making me feel at home. See you soon, maybe!!! ⚜️

Hidden in plain sight! Doesn't really draw much attention from the street but you should definitely treat yourself with a lunch visit. Super nice atmosphere, the lunch buns are amazing and the service was a 5 star experience. The kind of place where you wanna stick around and hang-out with the people there.

The man at the cafe was very nice and friendly. The egg sandwiches are very good as well but a bit overpriced. Also the croissant was nice and comes with jam. The atmosphere is pretty cool as well but not so much space to sit. Simple and good.

We went there for breakfast. Stunning place in a retro environment that gives calm and tranquility. Kindness of the restaurateur. Delicious breakfast of biscuits, orange juice and cappuccino. The place also welcomes our furry friends and this gives me enormous pleasure. Thanks 😊

Such an amazing place with such a great vibe! The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the food is beyond belief. Managed to sit and play a game of Chess whilst eating our brunch and on top of that were surrounded by amazing art and shop products. Only regret is not finding this place sooner!

It is a place that you would just walk past without thinking...don't do that! Delicious coffee, very relaxed atmosphere and nice street art to see. Just go there.

On the first sight you don't really notice the shop, but it's really a hidden treasure. It's in the middl of a shopping street but it's not a tourist trap like a lot of the other stores around there. You can eat nice soul food for a cheap price. Perfect for breakfast or brunch. One of our favorite spots in Amsterdam. They are really friendly and if you want you can get a tattoo there.

I was eating at the restaurant across the road, and noticed the steady queue of restaurant delivery couriers outside. Obviously very popular! Some of the dishes like egg bun is also on the restaurant’s menu, but at 50% the price

Hele mooie tattoo naam laten zetten door Reza. Ik kwam met een lettertype idee maar uiteindelijk heeft hij het zelf uit de vrije hand getekend. Waardoor het een hele mooie aparte tattoo is geworden. Heel erg blij mee✨

Very sweet place. The music it's génial. The personel are very top, and the food very good to. I recommand this resto/Shop with more stars. And a + : the toilet are very clean and it's not expensive when you see the big Burger 🤗

The egg buns are the best I’ve ever had, and the coffee rivals most places around the area. Tattoo shop upstairs with artists that are incredible at their craft!

My fiancé and I were in Amsterdam for 3 days as a part of our honeymoon and we stopped at Mokum each day. The coffee is great, the food is also great, very tasty snack! The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We ended up making friends with Fleur. We also ended up scheduling tattoos for the following day there with Tinta. His knowledge and skill within his specialty is top notch! I got my tattoo (line with w little shading) in a spot where my leg involuntarily twitched the whole time and it’s still GORGEOUS! We had the best time spending the afternoon chillin in Mr. Mokum. And when we return, it will also be a place we will return to 100%!

Wir waren auf der Suche nach schnellen und Preiswerten Essen. So kamen wir zu dem Landen. Die Bedienung war sehr hilfsbereit und nett. Und das Essen war sehr lecker würde den Laden jedem weiter empfehlen.

Such a nice and cute Restaurant, store and TATTOO-Shop. I was there only for the tattoo and you will get a drink 4 free if you get yourself a tattoo - how cool is that 😄. The tattoo-room was well organized and clean. The Artist (Spraycanartist) was such a lovely, kind and funny person. If i ever gonna get myself a tattoo in Amsterdam again, this is the place i would go again. Thank you so much for everything amd my tattoo.

Ein sehr cooler Ort. Das Essen ist sehr gut und macht auch fein satt. Dazu gibt es noch schönen Merch und wenn man möchte ein feines Tattoo. Die Bedienung ist äußerst nett und berät gern. Wir gehen hier seit 2021 immer wieder gern hin.

Super funky place! A tattoo parlor upstairs and a street store with quirky and gangsta item. If your a white boy that likes the current streetware hype you'll love this place. Okat now the food. Came here once for a quick snack and again for a lunch on our last day. Both times we were welcomed by the most friendly and accommodating staff, gave us info on places to go and best ways back to the airport. The food was 10/10 fries, chicken quesadillas, chicken burgers were the best we’d had and coffees were so good. Staff went above and beyond and the aesthetic inside is so nice.

This was one of my favorite stops in Amsterdam, and a proper place to get a coffee. Great service and wonderful food. Some very unique souvenir options, and a tattoo shop. The people here are very welcoming and they embody the aspect of Mokum. Find a way to visit this shop if you are in Amsterdam.

Chille tent met de beste broodjes en koffie! Kreeg espresso van het huis aangeboden tijdens het wachten, waar in Adam krijg je dat nog.

Echt een geweldige tent. Heel aardig personeel en het eten kwam snel en was heerlijk, en zeker niet duur. Er hing een heel chille sfeer met een chill muziekje, en t was erg rustig, wat ik niet snap. Het was echt totaal geen toeristen tent. Kortom geweldig

Absolutely delicious breakfast sandwich made with fresh ingredients and at very nice prices. Cozy, chilled place with a cool vibe. The service was very nice and accommodating. I was told they donate to charity, which earned extra points from me Will definitely go back.
