Tasty, original, not too expensive, friendly staff

Everythings is amazing here. Food, service and atmosphere. Top notch local spot. Service is very kind and attention to detail is on spot.

Lovely lunch café on the corner, nostalgic for me, retains the old atmosphere, and is very friendly. It makes the neighborhood more inviting.

Cozy place, good beers. I didn't eat. The only thing I could do with is the acoustics. It's quite noisy, especially with a larger group.

Abbey was a delight. One of those local gems that make a trip memorable. The food is inventive and flavourful. I had a roasted leek in mustard sauce appetizer than was bursting with taste. Then I had a white fish in miso main course that was delicious and so well balanced. Everything was so good, that I capped it off with a scrumptious Baba and Rum. The sauce was so delectable that I was scraping it off the plate with my spoon to get as much as I could. The service was impeccable, the wait staff was welcoming and conversational. The ambiance is homey and cozy, not fancy or pretentious. This place is a real neighborhood gem. I will absolutely come back to Abbey the next time I am in Amsterdam.

Fantastic food. Cheery staff. A little noisey, but I think it's because we had our reservation for 18.00 and the after work crowd were still there. It settled down after that. Will definitely go back.

Food is average, maybe less. Not bad, but definitely not great. Service is cute but not well trained, the question about recommendations overwhelmed them a bit haha but super friendly and attentive they are!

The best for Amsterdam. The place not to be missed!!! It's a little outside the center but definitely worth the trip... the tram stops right in front. Great service, very attentive even though we understood almost nothing in English. The menu is translated into French if you scan the QR code. The waitress was very attentive, the meal is of high quality, we saw the kitchens: very professional and very clean!!! We had a great time! A huge thank you for this great time! We will come back as soon as possible! Bravo to the chef!

The reviews are all spot-on! Incredible food.... you simply must go. We tried the risotto (SO good) and Cordon Bleu (also unreal - with homemade pastrami inside). The veal croquettes and even the French fries were perfection. Please do yourself a favor and eat here. Thanks to the chef and the front of house staff 🧡. Wonderful experience

It’s not easy to find great food in this area, but Abbey is an absolute gem. The food is fantastic, the beer is top-notch — and the staff? Easily some of the friendliest I’ve ever met. I’d 100% come back next time I’m in Amsterdam!

A very interesting place for food and drinks. The sangria we had was fantastic, as was the chicken, which came with a good salad and a large bowl of crispy fries. I highly recommend it. Great food and service.

Friendly service, a great menu, a surprising kimchi toastie, and a generous pastrami sandwich. Surprising and enjoyable. It was a quiet day, so it was lovely to sit on the terrace.

Delicious sandwiches and very nice terrace

Visiting Amsterdam for the F1 race in Zandvoort, race over late on a Sunday and needed some food. We passed this place on the tram a few times and it was close to the hotel. We showed up close to closing but fit us in, thankfully. Server was absolutely exceptional, service was exceptional, food was exceptional. I can't wait to come back to Amsterdam and come eat here again.

We have just come back from Dinner at Abbey’s. We can see why it is so popular! We are visiting from the UK and we felt like locals for the night. The food was delicious. The best we have had in Amsterdam to date. The home made fries need special mention. Thank you so much for squeezing us in on a fully booked Friday night.

A great terasse for sunny days, the food is delicious (especially the salmon)! The staff was lovely (a bit of a slower service but the restaurant was busy + I was hungry and everything looked delicious which made the waiting's feeling longer - but definitely worth the bit of wait!). Definitely I will come back!

It doesn't look like much from the outside. It’s excellent! I don't eat meat and my husband does the opposite and we found flavors for both of us. It's very refined and full of flavors. I recommend it to you!

The Abbey in Amsterdam is an absolute hidden gem! Their cordon bleu is simply outstanding — crispy on the outside, juicy and perfectly melted inside. Paired with golden, hand-cut frites and a trio of rich homemade sauces, every bite is pure comfort and flavor. You can feel the love and craft in every detail. Cozy atmosphere, warm service, and honest, delicious food. One of the best meals we had in the city — unforgettable!

The slow-cooked half chicken is very tender and the sauce is amazing (herbs + lemon juice) The braised beef was delicious. It was originally served with rice but it was not available that day, so it was replaced with mashed potatoes. The service is also very good

One of the nicest pubs outside of the main Amsterdam area. Friendly service and food was good. Price as expected. You can sit outside or inside. Have some details like heaters outside if it gets cold. Within a relaxed suburb. Great for a beer and finger food day. Recommended.

Great spot for those who wish to treat themselves. The service was warm, welcoming, and carefully engaging. Starters were on spot, served with lovely dips. Main dishes were served delightfully, although an extra touch was missing in my opinion. Great balanced atmosphere, cozy with a touch of intimacy.

Food is ok but very noisy when you are having dinner at night time…

I had a very good experience till the last 2 weeks. I have autism and adopted a ESA (ESA are support animals part of treatment plans for people with mental health conditions or invisible disability, it is prescribed by a psychiatrist and very official). My dog was not accepted as one of the employee is allergic to dogs. I understand the struggle but then it is crazy to say you accept animals. They advise me to call every-time before I come and if the person who is allergic is not here then I can come. I find it very discriminating for people with mental health condition or neurodivergent for who it is already hard enough to have a stable life to be confronted to this additional layer of exclusion. I am very disappointed. First time I had to sit outside and the waitress who is allergic to dog came actually to serve me and was 20cm from the dog… and then told me it is not a problem outside for her. Just inside is an issue. My dog is 1,8kg. Lighter than a newborn ! She sleeps in a cross body bag against my chest. If I didn’t say it was a dog people would believe it is a baby. I could as well seat far from her, in a corner. I think she really overreacted and to kick out disabled clients for this reason without giving alternative AT ALL… it is a shame.

We got a few appetizers and cocktails and everything was AMAZING! Our waitress was super friendly and gave us an English version of the menu. Excellent service and great food.

We already dine at Abbey several times since we move to this neighborhood. We really like the chill vibe at the terrace outside during the summer but it’s just next to the road so sometimes it can be noisy. It can become very cozy inside the restaurant on a chill night as well. We always satisfy with the dish we ordered. They always serve fresh ingredients and they cook our beef perfectly as what we ordered. My husband really likes their lasagna. They have quite limited menus so we can’t go there too often as it’s gonna almost the same dish everytime we go. We visit once in a while so we won’t get bored. The staffs are always assist you with their big smiles and that’s the biggest points here.

This is our local eatery and cafe place. We love the fact it is in our neighbourhood and we love all the friendly staff. Had a great meal here a few times. The chef is talented, the food is delicious and the presentation in particular is superb. Lots of outside terrace space now which great. Excellent job by all the team. Highly recommended!

Had the most bizarre experience here. I checked Google, confirmed the place was pet-friendly, made a reservation, and showed up with my dog. Only to be denied service because one of the waiters is allergic to dogs. Apparently, the place is only pet-friendly when the person is not on shift? Am I supposed to check the waiter’s schedule before making a reservation now? Really bizarre.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food! Bread with dips to start - fresh and tasty. I had Risotto which was perfect especially with additional burrata. My husband had chicken which he enjoyed with a couple of glasses of Weiss bier.

Had lunch at Abbey’s yesterday. The staff was friendly, but service very poor. We asked for a menu 40 mins after being seated, they forgot about us. Lunch arrived 1.45 hours after we arrived. I ordered a burrata sandwich, which had a few tiny bits of the filling of a burrata on there, but it wasn’t even enough to fill 1/4 of the sandwich. I guess they were out of burrata, but for €12,- I would expect at last half a burrata, or at least enough to fill 1 of the 2 sandwiches. Wouldn’t come here again.

Everything was top notch so that the end of my day in Amsterdam was quiet. My tapas were delicious, the gin and tonic after the beer was great. And a warm welcome. A quiet place in Amsterdam and it feels good.

What a treat! Abbey was our first booked table in Amsterdam and we never wanted to leave: we tried the bar snacks, the starters, the mains and the Gin & Tonics and each course was just a triumph. We snacked on Crunchy, spicy kimchi croquettes and local delights « Bitterballen » made of a creamy slow cooked meat stew. The locally grown wild white asparagus were in season and melting in our mouths with a sumptuous, decadent hollandaise vibing with orange zest and fried barley, generously bathing a top quality subtly smoked salmon. The veal tartar is delicious and has a lot of character with a mustard-forward seasoning albeit the knife-cut veal dices could have been smaller for our taste. We wrapped the early dinner with a cod dish that was superbly balanced, the whole plate working as a palate cleanser if clean, unaltered flavors of great fresh produce. Service was the friendliest, coziest and just exactly what you need on a neighborhood bistro like Abbey - someone that enjoys making people feel at home and does it with grace and a smile. Worth the trip if you are staying somewhere else in town. We can’t wait to be back!

Everything they make has a special touch that makes it different and is very well cooked, just right. I liked everything I ate (olives, anchovies, eggs Benedict and half a marinated chicken). The employees are very friendly and attentive and the place is very nice.

The food in the restaurant is excellent, and the side vegetable dishes are very tasty. If you're a vegetarian, this place is also a great choice.
