We had such a wonderful meal here on our first night in Amsterdam. The service and vibe is so friendly and welcoming and the building is amazing! The bread is fresh out of the oven and amazing. We had the 5 course tasting menu and they did lovely vegetarian variations of all the courses for me. The kohlrabi dish blew my mind! Can't recommend this place enough.

Originally, we booked the 5-course menu but were so captivated by the offerings that we opted for the 8-course instead. The highlight was the venison main course—perfectly cooked and complemented by a rich, flavorful sauce. Service was outstanding, with Christoph taking great care of our table. He was not only attentive but also knowledgeable, providing excellent insights into each dish. A truly memorable evening—highly recommended!

The Silverin Spiegel is a culinary cozy jewel in the heart of Amsterdam. The service was sublime, location really amazing. Located in a building from the XVII century and retains all of its allure, perfect blend of the 1600’s Dutch arquitecture with an elegant minimalist decor. The food was wonderful, modern and yet not too fru fru, devoid of that modernistic stuff, but very relevant, contemporary and simply wonderful. A must go. Sadly and I guess thanks to Instagram, and others, there are few locals eating here, this is becoming a theme in Europe, where iconic restaurants are now just where tourists come

From the warm welcome and the charm of the waiters to the absolutely excellent food and wine, De Silveren Spiegel never disappoints.

This will live on as one of my most memorable meals ever. The food was gorgeous and every bite somehow seemed to get better and better. The flavours and textures were inventive and on point in each and every dish. I really enjoyed the variety of fish, vegetarian and meat courses. The French champagne and wine pairing were fantastic with the dishes as well as stand alone. The Chablis served with the Sint Jacques course I think might have been my favourite, though it's hard to choose! We visited at lunch time, so maybe lost a little bit of the evening glow but the building is so historic it's still a magical setting. Of course the lunch menu offered a good price point. The 5 course including amuse, champagne aperitif and wine pairing was $165pp. Our server was very welcoming, passionate and informative. We will for sure be back!

We had a great evening! Went to eat at the Silveren Spiegel again after 10 years and immediately saw the same faces in the service. A beautiful restaurant where people still have a real passion for food & drinks and pay attention to the guests. More than worth every euro.

There are no words....these are some of the best bites we have ever tasted. Amazing. Would recommend. The atmosphere is also amazing because it is in a centuries-old house with slanted floors...I was obsessed with this place.

We celebrated new year 24/25 here with a wonderful dinner and wine fest! Several courses and they were all amazing on their own. Beautiful presentation and with every course a short explanation of what we were about to eat. Everything paired with amazing wine. For midnight we got sparkling wine and fun accessories to wear and enjoyed one of the most festive new years I have experienced! The Dutch really knows how to celebrate! I can recommend this whole-heartedly! Thank you for making our New Year’s Eve so special!

For two years now, my boyfriend and I have been closing the year with lunch on New Year's Day at this fantastic restaurant. That says a lot, because we are not people who often go to the same restaurant twice. But this restaurant stole our hearts. The quality of the food is exceptional. Every course is a true experience with so much attention to taste, presentation and detail. We have eaten at Michelin-starred restaurants before, and what we serve here is in no way inferior. Yet it's not just about the food: the warm atmosphere, personal service and genuine hospitality make it complete. Our compliments go out to the entire team. Cozy, authentic, feels like it's full of history and it is! Fine dining (with a little price tag, sure) but really with a wow feeling. Taste explosions and full of class🍴 You can sit downstairs or upstairs. The building is higgledy-piggledy, but that's why it has something to it :) Cheerful (possibly gay) men in the service. Speak English and Dutch. Loved it here! Perfect for a chic celebration or work dinner. Close to Amsterdam central. They also have a lovely matching wine arrangement, I always take half glasses, starting with a bit of bubbles, wonderfully cozy!🥂✨ There are even paintings of Mr. Mirror and the walls are decorated with classic frames and, of course, mirrors 🪞 Recommended!!🌟🌟🌟

Excellent restaurant fait pour le repas de noël. Des plats d'une grande saveur, une carte des vins à la hauteur. Il est incompréhensible que le Silveren Spiegel n 'est pas encore obtenu à minima une étoile au Michelin. Nous avons fait de nombreux étoilés en France qui n'ont pas les qualités de ce restaurant.

We went there for lunch for Christmas. It was truly a magnificent experience. 5-course Christmas menu with wine. Presentation, product quality, taste, variety, service and wines, everything was really at the top level. This restaurant deserves 2 Michelin stars without question. The boss is infinitely kind and full of humor. Even the bread was very good and yet for us French it is a sore point ;)

I will never get over my night at de Silveren Spiegel—I dreamed about it that night. It is more than worth the price from the service and presentation, to the symphony of flavors with each bite. My girlfriend and I had the seven-course dinner (which was essentially 12 different items) and ordered wine separately. The dishes appear small, but they are the "Hermione's Purse" of flavor and satisfaction. Menu is attached. The one resting on a white, textured rhombus, I couldn't begin to describe. I have no ability to describe flavor—I'm sorry. But when I tell you I left my body for a moment, you MUST try this. None of this meal disappointed. Trying to pick my least favorite dish feels unnecessary and difficult. It would be like trying to pick my least favorite song on a great artist's album. If you are in Amsterdam, you have to go to this restaurant. The waitstaff was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable (and could make it graspable to a novice like me), and even gave history of the 17th century home that houses the restaurant. I literally have zero critiques. Dates, small family or group (2-4 people) dinners, a deeper way to celebrate life, this special place is perfect for it all. For the price paid—€328 for two people—for the breathtaking experience we had, for the way I am still, over a week later, thinking about this dinner, I am more than happy to write this review.

Wow! What an evening. Every dish from amuse bouche to mignardises was just incredible. The presentation, the taste, the combination of flavors and products were so on point. We loved the service as well and the wine pairing was great. Had an epic dinner. I want to thank everbody for making this evening a very special one for me.

The food here is absolutely amazing. Their are, however, not very flexible with their menu. The venue is a retrofitted building that is over 400 years old. The whole experience is just excellent. It's pricy, but it's well worth every penny of it.

Een avond uit met mijn oudste zoon... Dit restaurant gekozen omdat mijn jongste zoon er momenteel, als kok, stage loopt... Wat was het een heerlijke avond! Gevestigd in een fantastisch 17e eeuws pand, waarover de bediening enthousiast vertelde en ons wees op verschillende opvallende kenmerken. De gerechten waren stuk voor stuk prachtig om naar te kijken en uiteraard heerlijk om te eten. Veel verrassende smaken en combinaties. Als we er dan toch één favoriet uit zouden moeten kiezen, dan gaan we voor de 'Kingfish' met de daarbij behorende 'kombu meringue'... Kortom: Dikke aanrader voor een fantastische avond uit...

You really don’t get many experiences like this. Fine dining but in a historic 400 year old house that’s family run? Incredible. The staff, the food, all 8 courses, and the rich history of the building made this a memory my wife and I will never forget. Every course was truly 5 star, but the veal and mussels were the two highlights for me. While it’s expensive, it’s worth every euro and more.

Chose to go for lunch, and it was spectacular! The 5-course menu was inventive without being over-the-top, incredibly flavorful, and a feast for the senses. The amuse bouche was out of this world! The servers were kind and personable to this solo diner, and paced the courses perfectly. Worth of the Michelin Star and more!

For that special evening meal on holiday the De Silveren Spiegel lived up to the expectations of great food, beautifully presented and with solid hospitality. As a group of four we all found something special to take away from the evening and the wine paring was fantastic too. Who knew white port was that good?! The team are professionally attentive but relaxed which suits the vibe. We would recommend a visit to anyone.

Service was amazing, particularly Harry and Chris, our well-seasoned servers. Beautiful food in historical home from 1600’s. The story of the building, the family who owned it, and its place in Amsterdam’s history was shared incrementally by the server as each gorgeous plate was presented in our tasting menu experience. We thought we were treated especially well when we showed up early, thought we were special, then slowly each new patron was welcomed with the same warm but efficient treatment. The kitchen is manned by artists, and the taste of it all was unexpected and delicious. A real surprise not to be missed!

We had an exceptional dining experience at De Silveren Spiegel. My husband and I enjoyed a seven-course meal, starting with a glass of sparkling wine followed by a glass of white wine. The food was presented beautifully, creative dishes where every bite was delicious. The service was impeccable—our waiter described each plate in detail, adding humorous comments that made us feel comfortable and encouraged a friendly interaction. The restaurant's location is excellent; we were able to walk back to our hotel safely after dinner. We highly recommend De Silveren Spiegel—it truly exceeded our expectations!

A beautiful restaurant in a quiet street in the center. The building in which it is located gives it a special charm and romance, although the owners of the restaurant also took care of that. I didn't try the food, I was just passing by, it seems nice and tasty. I was impressed by the lamps on the tables outside, which give a refined look to the table.

Without a doubt one of the most legendary dinners that I will always remember. From start to finish we surrendered without hesitation to the flavors, textures and experience that the chef offered us. 100 out of 10.

Those tilted houses wherein De Silveren Spiegel resides are the first things which come into your view when you approach the place. The whole neighborhood around is truly cozy which adds to the overall atmosphere and you haven’t even entered the restaurant yet. A quick warm welcome, and if you are lucky enough to get a table upstairs you’ll get a change to climb the super steep Dutch stairs, but be careful with your wine as you will have to take the same staircase at the end of the evening. The building is somewhat around 300 years old with sloping floors and other awesomeness of the sort while De Silveren Spiegel has been the resident there for more than 20 years. Feels snug and homely. The tasting menu along with the wine pairing were beyond all praise with the waiters enhancing the impressions. It does cost a bit, but nothing like breaking a bank on a budget. We will definitely come back once we are back in Amsterdam. Thanks.

I seriously don’t have enough words in my vocabulary in any language to describe how wonderful this experience was. Our waiter, Chris, really was the most amazing part of our journey at de Silveren Spiegel. He guided us flawlessly through a multitude of amazing flavors, each paired with not just the perfect wine, but a story and a historical reference for every part of each course. The food! Everything was perfectly made and expertly dished and timed to perfection as well. I can’t begin to say how truly magical this experience was. Sock away some euros and make this place a priority. I hope to one day return and meet up with Chris once again. There aren’t enough stars so I’ll give the 5 that I can.

What an absolute treat! Service was excellent and the quality of food was fantastic! The server explained the history of the house - old Mayor's house converted into a restaurant - and gave us a very brief tour - we were the first ones at the restaurant so the server had time to explain the history. My husband had their Michelin special that included a 5-course lunch with a glass of champagne, wine pairings, coffee & tiny sweets. I don't drink alcohol so I had the 5 course menu without the drinks. The server made me two "special" drinks that he mixed at my table. The drinks were not on the menu and he just made them based on the flavors I liked. I don't remember what they were called except one was a little tart and the other was sweet. Both were excellent, and the presentation of the drink was great! The presentation of food was good and it was very flavorful. Each dish didn't disappoint and I love the combination of flavors. It was a treat for my eyes and my tastebud! :) Service was also top notch - we had two servers to 5 tables so they were extremely attentive and friendly, taking time to explain each dish and the wine pairing. Our lunch took about 2.5 hours and we didn't feel rushed at all. Expect to sit and enjoy lunch for over 3 hours, esp if you order coffee and want to sit and talk. The servers obviously take great pride in their job and it made me feel happy to see that. We ended up tipping higher than normal for European standards, which made our server happy. And we were happy to see him happy..It was such a fantastic experience all around. My only regret was not making the reservation earlier so we could have dinner --- book early because by the time we finalized our dinner plans (1.5 weeks before we traveled), there were no available time slots for dinner. And if you decide to splurge and do their Michelin Special, you won't regret it!!! My husband and I are on a crazy foodie tour starting in Copehengan and ending in Amesterdam. We have been to several Michelin restaurants, and this is one of my favorites so far (and we were at some highly rated restaurants in Copehengan so this is saying a lot).

A beautiful Friday evening in De Silveren Spiegel. What an incredibly nice and balanced restaurant. A beautiful place, wonderful, interested and civilized service with a warm story. And then the plates from the kitchen. An 8 course menu concluded with beautiful cheeses. The concept of 'Dutch fine dining' appears to be very contemporary with expressive swirling flavors around local products and great layout. Also a big chapeau for the host and his beautiful wines. We can't think of anything that could be even better 👌🏼👏🏼🔥🔥🔥

We went there for a business dinner to make sure we have a pleasant dinner experience with our clients. They served many courses one after the other. All meals were almost a piece of art on their own. I really appreciated the effort spent on every detail. The waiters were very polite and explained the delicate nuances of each course at each round. A fine dining experience. To be greeted by the owner was a surprise. It is a family business with the son as the chef. The seven course meal was amazing. The layers of flavors, the depth of tastes, were a pleasure to the tongue. Our server explained each course and was there for us when needed him. Again, a dining extravaganza.

Loved our visit here for a 7 course set meal. The building is old, crooked, and full of character. The staff were a delight, and we felt very well cared for. We enjoyed some bonus amuse bouche (a real highlight), also some wonderful bread fresh out of the oven, followed by 7 beautifully presented and delicious courses. Particularly enjoyed the lamb and rhubarb, but it was all good. Sometimes it is just such a treat to put yourselves in the hands of others and just be open to enjoying what they chose for you. We had an excellent 5-course lunch at de Silveren Spiegel on Good Friday. Even though the restaurant was fully booked for dinner, we were lucky that there were only 3 couples at lunch, so the service was very attentive and personal. We were amazed by how delicate, light, and tasty all the dishes were ( okay, the lamb was reasonably hearty :-) You can see the dishes in the photos. All in all, we had a memorable meal to end our Amsterdam trip. We would come here again when we are in town. Hopefully we'll book early enough to enjoy the dinner then. The restaurant is located in an old historic building from the 17th century. We saw people outside stopping by to take photos. The dining room reflects the historic nature of the building.

An outstanding meal in Amsterdam! The setting was so beautiful, you feel like you are sitting in a little piece of history. So cozy and quaint, it's just absolutely adorable. The food was beautiful but also delicious! The desserts were especially our favorites. The plating was so beautiful, each dish looked like a piece of art. The staff was very friendly and the wine pairing was perfect. All in all, a wonderful experience. Cozy, warm, delicious, friendly, historic, what more could you want? 100% recommend if you are looking for a special experience in Amsterdam.

An absolutely incredible place! We took the 8-course tasting menu with a wine and food pairing, and everything was perfect from start to finish. It's rare to have such mastery of all the flavours. An absolutely stunning experience, a must!

Location in a historic house close to the central station, finely and tastefully furnished, even with a slightly oblique floor. We chose the 8 course tasting. Quality raw materials, symbiotic and well-plated dishes, well-balanced and excellent flavor and taste. The cuisine deserves a Michelin star. Friendly and helpful room manager, excellent service. We found the wine prices a little high.

Fantastic food. Multi layered, and interesting while staying perfectly balanced. I still don't know how to describe the flavour avalanche of that wonderful beetroot. Wine pairing was all top quality and went well with the food but being ultra picky, not all of them added as much to the accompanying food as I have experienced in other top class restaurants (this IS a top class restaurant). Superb service, would be delighted to visit again.

I arrived in this idyllic and authentic setting, welcomed by two charming waiters who were attentive, smiling, friendly and passionate. The table was refined down to the smallest detail, from the choice of porcelain, glasses and silverware. Fresh flowers and candles gave another dimension to the place. As for the dishes, an extraordinary journey awaited us. A sense of detail and precision, from appetizers to dishes. A spectacle for the eyes but also and above all for the taste buds. Explosions of flavors in every bite. A real invitation to travel. Haute gastronomy cuisine that urgently deserves to have a star. Congratulations again and thank you for this memorable moment. It was an amazing evening. All dishes were delicious and prepared thoughtfully. Big kudos to the kitchen staff who created art on our plates. Waiters were very kind, experienced and welcoming. Words and superlatives fall short: this is the restaurant in Amsterdam of the moment. The young chef creates daring, contemporary, beautiful dishes, with an eye for Dutch/Amsterdam food culture & history. We had an 8 course dinner - and apart from the fact that every dish was sublime - the perfect structure of the courses was also striking. Made with so much finesse, feeling and knowledge that we really felt like we were on a sensory and sometimes emotional journey. Our visit to De Silveren Spiegel was unlike any other dining experience we have ever had. We were welcomed by the friendliest staff who took our coats and bags before seating us at a beautifully arranged table in this wonderfully historic setting. After a brief introduction to the history of the the venue we were presented with 3 of the most incredible amuse bouche which excited both in design and flavour. We opted for the 5 course lunch menu with a cheese course for dessert and we could not believe what we were presented with every step of the way. Each course was so beautifully constructed into works of culinary art. The look of this food was so exciting that we avoided looking at other tables as to not ruin the surprise of the dish that we were about to be presented with. My wife and I were blown away be the flavours we experienced, flavours that are so incredibly complex and pleasing that they are indescribable in this short review. Each course was described and explained and our waiters were as enthused to present them to us as we were to receive them. If you are ever in town this venue is not to be missed.

Great place, very tasty and atmospheric, nice staff. The 8-course menu was delicious. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. I had a nice time alone with my husband. We will definitely come back.

We went there for my wife's birthday. The settling is super charming--a historic building--and we sat upstairs with a view of the square outside (and a bit of a slope to the floor). Service was amazing, starting with a welcome at the door from the owner and continuing with our waiter, Christoph (spelling?), who took great care of us for the rest of the evening. We selected the seven-course chef's menu with wine parings. We've sampled many prix fixe meals over the years, and this may be one of the best we've had. While sometimes an individual course can be just okay, this night each course was excellent and stood on its own. The wine pairings were also great. We learned that the chef was the owner's son and took time to give him thanks before we left. It was such a great evening, and we plan to return when the menu turns over later this spring.

Highly recommend this restaurant! All of the food courses were amazing and all of the staff were very welcoming!
