DAY tapas bar in Stadshart

The 5 of us, including 3 children, had a wonderful meal. The service was very helpful in helping us choose food for the children. The children really enjoyed the pizza and we had delicious tapas with excellent sangria.

Art deco and playful bits of art keep you looking and enjoying this atmospheric restaurant. A few odd ball dishes on the specials list and a menu of old favourites make this a terrific spot for a shared meal.

I’d give this place a swerve. My sardines on bruschetta cost €11. Not a lot of bang for your buck here. Many other places close by which are better (as I’ve eaten in them).

We ordered Gambas believing they would actually be Gambas, but they turned out to be simple shrimp — and that wasn’t even the biggest issue. They had no flavor, were extremely oily instead of being made with olive oil, which made them indigestible and impossible to eat. The place itself is pleasant, but this time it didn’t go as expected.

Calamari and Gambas tapas were really tasty, nice atmosphere and good service!

A wonderful, atmospheric spot in the heart of Amstelveen, perfect for a casual drink or a hearty meal. The tapas are delicious and always freshly made. They also have an excellent wine list. The outdoor terrace is very inviting and perfect for winter use. I highly recommend Day!

A wonderful restaurant to dine at with our teenagers. The atmosphere is great. The appetizer platter is highly recommended. The staff are incredibly friendly, and I'm always lucky that they're willing to make my favorite cocktail, even if it's not exactly on the menu.

Top location right there on that square, in the coziest corner! A lovely terrace in the sunshine, and above all, a delicious menu! The tapas! Finger-licking good. I think I've been there five times already this summer. A lovely atmosphere that reminds you of Ibiza.

Like this restaurant as having a cozy atmosphere and good quality of food. I’ve been here many times in the evenings and tasted some tapas. It was unique to find pimientos de padron in Amstelveen. First time we had lunch and liked this lunch plate which includes soup, salad and foccacia. Staff were nice. Recommendation for the locals who live around.

One of the delicious restaurants with good service, worth trying

This was my second time visiting, and I’m honestly very impressed with how good the food is. As someone from Spain, it’s hard to find authentic Spanish flavors in town but this place truly delivers. The food is delicious, and the attention from the staff is also great. Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to!

Had a nice drink on the terrace of Day. At the end of the day it is nicely in the sun and if it is not too hot then it is wonderful to end the day. The menu consists of all kinds of snacks to share. Mainly Italian and Spanish dishes. I had told the staff that we had little time and we were helped immediately and the snacks were served quickly. Nice place!

Food is really good. However the kitchen is really slow! We got drinks quick but had to wait almost an hour to get all 4 of the tapas we ordered!

Highly recommended. Atmospheric restaurant with service that does its job with humor, knowledge and skill. We (four people) barely looked at the menu and asked 'fill the table with snacks'. The service handled this perfectly. A nice variety of small dishes, good wine and above all a lot of fun. Top.

We had to wait too long to be served. Probably because we went there in a big group. However we reserved and informed in advance and it took almost an hour to be served after we arrived. Each course was served too far from one another.

A nice restaurant in the Stadshart (shopping center) of Amstelveen. It has a cozy atmosphere. They have nicely decorated the outside terrace with plants and cozy furnishings. The menu is very extensive and consists mainly of tapas. But there is also plenty of choice outside. Take the mussels or tenderloin tips, for example. We had delicious patatas bravas, The mussels and Albondigas (Spanish meatballs). The wine list has wines from different countries. Prices vary between 27 and 40 euros. We are fans of Domaine Hilaire. Have you just gone shopping or do you want to have lunch in a relaxed atmosphere with a bit of commotion? Then you've come to the right place.

Had a wonderfully relaxed meal. Tapas all came separately with some time in between, very nice and unhurried. Friendly and cheerful service. And the food was also very tasty. Recommended.

The food itself was good. Organization needs to improve. Waited almost 1 hour for a salad and a sandwich. When asked about this when lunch was delivered, I ordered a coke and coffee. Only came when lunch had been consumed and we were just about to get on. Sorry busy???? However, a good organization is lacking. Or cut back on staff?

Cozy tapas restaurant on the outside of the Stadshart Amstelveen shopping center. Friendly staff and a good menu. We had prawns ajillo, 2 types of croquetas (jambon and espinaca), Saint Marcelin (melted cheese). All authentic and very tasty. Price above average, but it was definitely worth it.

Very nice meal with a small group for lunch. Nice service. Too bad there was some kind of dance music that was way too loud. While the audience was certainly not that target group. More difficult to chat and sets the mood

Nice place for a drink and a snack. Friendly staff. The Spanish beer is recommended. One has, among other things: Alhambra Reserva on tap.

I used to be a customer here, but i will never come back again. As someone with a severe sesame allergy, I asked for white bread and they came with a bread the size of a cracker that they still charge 17 euro for. No information. Portions for a 5 year old. Last time, they gave me a bun full of sesame, and when I mentioned this they came back with normal white bread i can eat still with the same platter, different bread, plate full of sesame. They dont care if you have allergies and do not try to think with you so you can actually sit back and enjoy their food. It was amazing, and now everything, except for the interior sucks. Will never go back here again,

Restaurants in a shopping center, it's often just not it.

Unfortunately not a great experience. Had to wait a long time for the food and chaos in the service. We were given the wrong drinks twice and food was brought twice that was not intended for us. The people next to us who ordered later were served their food earlier. It all did not give a neat impression.

Not really a traditional Tapas restaurant, but otherwise the food was excellent.

How is it possible to order 4 drinks and receive an order with 2 mistakes out of 4 and a delay of 20 minutes? Where one drink is missing and another drink is completely wrong?

Even though the place was not busy, it took the staff 30 min to pay attention to us and bring drinks. Some of the tables were covered with dirty dishes which were soaking in the heat. In the order of four drinks there were two mistakes. I did not risk to order any food and left. The staff did not even offer the refund or apologies for their sloppy service. Needles to say, I would not recommend this place.

I had the veggie burger a few weeks ago and it was very tasty, with good fresh fries, worth repeating, I thought. So last Wednesday we returned to Day at the end of the afternoon. But that was a disappointment, this time I got a too thick, mealy veggie burger, the fries were clearly old and had to be thrown back into the fryer, the focaccia bread that my husband ordered was cold, not tasty that way, warm it up beforehand. you put it on the table, he had another dish with meat, which was presented on a small oblong plate, it almost fell over it, but what was also a shame, that sauce was all over it. The staff would pass it all on to the kitchen... So I didn't think it was a success this time, especially because it is also expensive.

Last week I ate a delicious pizza Bianco di tartufo. So we did that again this week. That was quite disappointing. The base was still raw/weekly, you had to look for the gorgonzola with a magnifying glass and the pizza tasted of nothing. We left half of it and told the employee. she indicated that she would pass it on to the cook. Fine, but there was no suggestion to deduct anything from the price. Because it was said: "Well, you've eaten it". Yes, you only notice that the pizza doesn't taste like anything until you've tasted it, that's the only way to judge this pizza. If they had taken a few euros off the price, we would have come back more often and written a positive review, because it is a nice place with a nice interior. It's not about the money, but about softening the negative experience and showing respect for your criticism. But that wasn't possible. Now we won't be back and I'm writing this review. Earning money in the short term is always nice, but it is more important as an entrepreneur to build a long-term relationship with your customers who form the raison d'être of a company. But apparently not everyone thinks that way... So be it. It's a shame.

Great new concept! Tapas, we didn't have that yet in Amstelveen. Everything was delicious and well prepared. The calamaris were especially good. No plastic rings. Unfortunately no patatas bravas, with real potatoes, but fries. Unfortunately that was a small downside.

Very mediocre food. Huge disappointment, especially if you have already been to Cavataria (same owner). It's incomprehensible that this feels so amateurish, when all you have to do is copy Cavataria to Amstelveen. The tataki looked like nothing (tasteless and covered in mayo??). The Ceviche was ridiculous (had nothing to do with Ceviche, looked more like a failed poke bowl), the prawns were incredibly tasteless (if even such a basic dish doesn't work...) Such a disappointment and a shame for Amstelveen.

The staff is very friendly. The food was extremely disappointing. I ordered a falafel burger. This was very tasteless and seemed to have been fried instead of baked. The burger had no structure, but the ingredients seemed to be pureed into a ragout-like substance. The price for this was €14.50. Pretty high for what you get. I wouldn't return here myself. Addition: After years and again no other options in Amstelveen, I returned to this same restaurant against my better judgment. The service was extremely poor. It took a long time before we got our food. Our food had also been ready in the kitchen for quite some time. The only clerk first quietly walked around the entire restaurant to help other customers. The food is way too expensive and too little. It was also surprising that a dish containing anchovies was listed as vegetarian on the menu. Quite unprofessional. After sitting at a table for 40 minutes we received our first dish. Now I can rightly say I will never return.

Always been a fan of Day, but things seem to have changed. All 3 sandwiches we ordered for lunch were sparsely filled and of lower quality than before. In addition, the entrance with skis in the March sun feels a bit strange and the rotten pumpkins from autumn were still in the large planter by the door. In short, my tip is to take a critical look at the interior (which has also become quite busy after the new decoration) and be less frugal with the toppings. The staff and location are great, so that's not the problem!

Great new concept! Delicious food on Valentine's Day... The Gamba's Pil Pil are great, the atmosphere is cozy and the service is great! DAY has always been good, but now even more fun and tastier... Exactly what Amstelveen was missing, a good tapas bar! Hopefully some Spanish live music evenings at DAY soon! 🇪🇸

Mainly focused on tapas, but the choices are limited, just enough. There is nothing to complain about in terms of quality, we thought the pig cheeks were an outlier. The young but quick service is top notch, and the range of wine and other drinks is also well organised.

Been here a couple of times and we like it. The menu is small but nice and balanced, staff is kind and the place is nice. Sometimes service can be a bit slow as they dont have too many waiters but we enjoy it overall.

After a number of good experiences in recent years, this evening was unfortunately a disappointment... ordered some tapas and a Ceasar salad. The croquettes were lukewarm (and microwave) warm, just like the meatballs in tomato sauce. Returned the croquettes and received the previously uneaten number in return. We had 5 and got 3 back, the 2 that we ate only to find out that they weren't good apparently didn't count... after insisting we later got 4 and no. 5 as well. The Ceasar salad was plain (prepared) but had been in the refrigerator for half a day, or at least that's how it tasted. The chicken was dry and the flavor had disappeared from the rest. Also, but that was my own fault (didn't read it properly), I found large pieces of anchovies in the salad... which is a strange combination, fish and chicken. During the follow-up conversation with the waitress, it was made clear to me that the chicken she had tasted was indeed tender. I have no idea why she gave me this, but it seemed as if she did not take my experience seriously. Finally, I randomly ordered 2 cappuccinos and an apple pie with a scoop of ice cream (€8.50!!!!!). Here too, the apple pie was heated in the microwave, not really tasty...and the scoop of ice cream was a scoop with the emphasis on you....just like the apple pie. In short, the food was not good and the waitress actually became more irritated by the minute, it seemed. I take for granted that she forgot my ordered wine in between, that can happen on a busy evening. As a compensation we got the cappuccinos on the house, that's for sure. It's a shame about this experience because the atmosphere was otherwise nice and it was quite full, but I'm afraid the next time won't come soon....

The iberico croquettes are way too expensive for what you get, filled with béchamel sauce and, if you look very carefully, a piece of ham. The meatballs are fine, but 5? Give it 6 when it comes to sharing! Focaccia with dips are fine, especially the bowl of raw vegetables that comes with it makes it a bit more luxurious. The service is neat and attentive!

I'll start with the good things: The vegan food is really delicious. Cleanliness: 10/10 Taste: 10/10 Service: 9/10 Price: 8/10 We made a reservation but when we arrived they told us that we didn't have a reservation, when we showed them the proof that we made a reservation they immediately prepared a table for us. We were six people, the food itself is delicious. The hamburger is small but tasty, the vegan hamurger is delicious, the pasta portions were small, the avocado sandwich is small and delicious, the vegan salad is big and the vegan spread (vegan mayonnaise?) is really delicious. The atmosphere in the place is pleasant. The toilets are very clean. The experience at the place was very good, I highly recommend the place.

Extremely long wait for service and food. Also my steak was 26,50 and tinyl. Above all it lacked taste. Could have been minced meat almost. So food not passable for this price. Slow staff, not particularly friendly or interested. It's the second time in my life I've not given a tip.

With a group of six people we enjoyed a varied lunch with the pizza of the week (pumpkin, goat cheese and bacon), the tomato soup, vitello tonnato. All were very happy with their choice. Nice thin crust pizzas. Very tastefull, waiters were alert and friendly. Would love to return to this place.

After an afternoon of shopping in Amstelveen we decided to look for a restaurant for a tasty and easy meal. That's possible here!! We enjoyed various dishes from the tapas menu. Il Ripano, Saint Marcellin, Croquettes Chorizo, Bruschetta tomato and Pimentos de Padrón. Highly recommended if you ever visit Amstelveen.

I ordered a chicken dish for €24 and was disappointed to receive barely any vegetables with the meal. The broccoli was charred and the chicken was dry - which would have been okay if not for the price of the meal.

Lively food bar with tasty sandwiches. Loved the chicken and truffle egg sandwich. Good service too.
