We were in Amsterdam for part of our honeymoon looking for a good, non-touristy place to eat breakfast and we got really lucky finding this place. We loved it so much we ate here twice. I got a quiche lorraine which was amazing and so fresh and my husband got the bakers breakfast. They have really great sourdough bread and the staff was super friendly. Will defintely come back if we are ever in Amsterdam again.

This is an offense! Their scones are ridiculously good. The clotted cream is perfect, Applemeisje contains so much Apple you wont believe it and the cinnamon buns are very special. I couldnt try the pastel de nata or the caramel cake, because I already almost died and went to heaven. The Coffee is even as good. My Partner had the joghurt breakfast and was also completly satisfied. The hearty meals Look and smell delicious. You can watch them cooking. The interior is clean, cozy and a bit quirky. There are 4 different compartments, one of these is for Reservations only. They have many smaller tables, but even a really big one with about 12 chairs. The staff is friendly, helpful and very polite.

We had a very tasty breakfast at Dd Bakkerswinkel. We had the French toast breakfast. The French toast was made with Frisian sugar bread: delicious! Furthermore, the coffee was tasty and the staff very friendly. The atmosphere is great too!

Ugly staff. We we're a group of 7 people, two people didn't want to order and they forced us to buy something. They were also rude telling us that we can't bring drinks from outside, but it was the bottle of water that we bring with us for the hole day, so we'll not throw it just to enter. Not recommended. Drinks were nothing special.

The quiche was so delicious. We could have gone back a second time just for the quiche but we wanted to explore more during our short stay in Amsterdam. The staff was so friendly. I also ordered a croissant and he asked what jam I’d like. I told him to surprise me. He brought me homemade fresh blackberry and rosemary (or another herb) jam. It was so wonderful.

I visited for breakfast on Saturday without a reservation. I was able to get in after waiting 5-10 minutes. There were several other groups waiting as well. What I ordered: 1 x Brownie → €5.95 1 x Quiche Lorraine → €8.70 2 x Koffie Verkeerd (caffè latte) → €3.90 1 x Wentelteefjes (French toast) → €22.05 The quiche was especially delicious!

It is simply always good! Staff always friendly and welcoming. Food and drinks always of consistent quality. A long-standing favorite for a delicious lunch.

I have ordered a fried egg with salmon. The bread was uncuttable under the eggs and the salmon, which made it hard to eat. Also, the bread was not fresh (hardened) and was wet. The portion was not fulfilling its 15 euro price. I would have expected bread as a pre-sliced on the side and some fresh greens on the plate. The plate was very oily, which was not a good start for a meal. My partner ordered a chicken sandwich and was also not satisfied with the portion. We were sitted at a wobbly table, even though the staff knew about it. They didn't change our table until we said something, which I had a hard time understanding. It would have been better if the staff had proactively offered to move us to a stable table or fixed the issue without waiting for us to bring it up. The service is ok. The breakfast is overpriced for the quality of the food. The interior is cozy, but the tables and chairs are not comfortable. The chairs were hard and lacked padding, making sitting for more than a few minutes unpleasant. Additionally, the table height did not match well with the chairs, making eating awkward and uncomfortable. I don’t recommend this place for breakfast. However, the pastries looked delicious.

I've been coming here for about 4 years now and it's still just as good! Always a nice spot for a brunch or lunch date, or for a pastry in the afternoon. The service is always friendly and you receive a warm welcome. My favorite are the delicious scones with homemade jam!

A gem on Warmoesstraat that has retained its cozy Dutch Amsterdam charm, while the whole neighborhood is focused on making quick money with tasteless treats/snacks. Keep up the good work, thanks!

Highly recommended for a delicious lunch in Amsterdam (near the station). The staff were super friendly, and the scones were delicious. A real old-fashioned cozy atmosphere.

The most delicious tosti with kimchi (not spicy) with sourdough bread. The portion of quiche was on the small side, but tasted good. The place is full of locals, which is a good sign.

Absolutely loved De Bakkerswinkel Centrum! The sandwiches are really good — the bread is truly the star of the show, fresh and full of flavor. The pastries are beautifully made, and I especially appreciated that the muffin didn’t have one of those flimsy paper wrappers — a small detail, but it really shows the quality and care they put into their food. Definitely coming back!

Had lunch with a few friends here! What a delightful place, right in the city center! It is so much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside! Stop in and let the super friendly staff take care of you!

An exceptional croissant and the French toast was sinful

This place seemed a lot smaller than it was. There is a lot of seating in the back. The food was fresh and very tasty. We had everything from their bread basket with amazing passion fruit curd, which came with a drink and a small fresh pressed smoothie type drink. Also amazing was their soup and quiche meal. I had both the soup and quiche of the day and they were both amazing. The salad had a nice dressing on it. The coffee was very tasty too. The atmosphere is bright and light and very comfortable.

A must-try in Amsterdam for food-loving tourists. I go to Amsterdam regularly and I always make sure to stop by Bekkerswinkel for a delicious breakfast, served with a smile by lovely staff.

Cozy escape from the bustling Amsterdam center. Scones and bread were perfect. Great tea selection. We tried Lapsang and Forest Fruits and loved both. Saw a table being set up for a girls brunch maybe. It was beautiful.

We had breakfast here this morning and it was absolutely delicious. Most of the items are homemade – fresh jams, bread, and lots of other little things – and you can really taste the difference. The service was fantastic: very friendly, multilingual (German, Italian, Dutch, English), and incredibly attentive. They even asked how we'd like our eggs cooked. Plus, a glass of water was automatically included with every breakfast, even though it wasn't listed on the menu – a really nice touch. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed; there's no rush, and you can enjoy yourself at your leisure. Highly recommended – we'll definitely be back!

I rarely leave reviews, but this restaurant is worth it. The staff is welcoming and friendly. A varied menu and truly homemade food! You can see the dishes being prepared and cooling. I had a quiche with salad! Both were good, but the salad was wonderfully seasoned; I've never eaten such a good salad! Don't change this recipe! You've elevated this simple dish! The establishment is clean and quiet, and right in the city center. I'll be back!

Another customer asked me and my friend to leave because he didn't want to listen to out conversation. He was intimidating and we were scared. To our great surprise the guy working here agreed and told us we had to leave. I cannot stress enough that we were just having a conversation. I will NEVER come back here. We both kept talking about how we have never experienced anything like this. I would give negative 10 stars if I could.

Our very favorite place! It feels a bit like home, thanks to the owners and the staff. The food is wonderful, and the building itself is beautiful. We even celebrated a post-wedding lunch there with a group of about 70 people — it was absolutely fantastic.

During our family trip last week, we visited this bakery twice. Each time, we received exceptionally polite and friendly service, and our children had a wonderful time in the small play area. The most amazing place I have been i Amsterdam! Staff is brilliant! There was a male staff every morning, I guess he is the owner. His energy and vibe are so welcoming so do other staff.

While the atmosphere is quite nice, I have to say that the service is not aligned to the minimum expectations I would have from a gas station , not a bakery. The staff have already been characteristically rude (not dutch direct, I appreciate dutch direct,I am a greek living in Germany, I breathe directness, they were RUDE .Punkt ). I have the suspicion that this may be due to the fact that we are a rainbow family and my gender identity. If not, it could be even worse : they are not bigots ,they are simply useless and rude. And while I can stand a competent and polite bigot, I cant stand rudeness and lack of basic competence . PS: a cappuccino,a chai latte and a chocolate, ranged from blunt to maybe mediocre and a ham and cheese toast just plain . But the point is never the food

This is my first negativ review on google. Worst Place l have ever been in Amsterdam and l am visiting for the 4th time.... The Staff is so rude, you think you just did sth terribly wrong.... First impression: you step inside and you look around to find a table available. You make the mistake to walk a few steps in and a lady comes to you to tell you, in a rude in my modest opinion way, that you should have seen the " wait to be seated" small sign somewhere and not step in... Well what if a had a vision impairement for exemple? Stupid of us that we didn't leave immediately of course but a had a hungry little kid with me... She gives us a table after all and we think lets forget about it! Second: As we are waiting for our order to be taken, I was just rearranging the contents of my bag and for a little while I put a folded almost eaten bar of Chocolate on the table. Immediately sb comes ( wow) and instructs me to put it away ("no food from outside is allowed on the table..."), like l was in a 5 Star Restaurant, almost forgot that l was in a Backery.... We are talking about max 6 pieces of folded Chocolate... I am not getting started with the mediocre Cappuccino und a mediocre Chai Latte, that wouldn't have mattered at all, its a matter of taste after all! Definitely not coming again!

What a cozy place, with a personal approach, genuine interest, and delicious food. Plenty of gluten-free options! Highly recommended! And I took the brownies with me; they're truly divine!

We came as 3 people, the place wasn’t busy, and one of my friends wasn’t sure about his order and wanted to wait and pass the first ordering. Waiter said that we are not allowed to sit if we don’t spend money per person with rude manners. If you want someone to order, you can make recommendations, explain the menu and such. So we left, not a good experience. We just went to another restaurant next door.

On our final day in our brief stint in Amsterdam we popped in here for breakfast. We passed it a previous day but had just eaten so couldnt go in. When we did it was absolutely worth it. I got the Yogurt Granola breakfast (pictured) and my Girlfriend got the French Breakfast (Not Pictured) and these two comined was the best shared breakfast experience I mightve ever had. Loved being able to exchange pieces and put everything together ourselves, wonderful experience, polite staff, and overall looked very cool. Also the best black coffee I had in the city! fantastic all around! Would highly recommend will definitely go again if the opportunity arises !

Fantastic place for brunch. Greeted warmly on arrival and shown to a table. Ordered the French breakfast and French toast which came with some gorgeous homemade preserves. Meal came with good coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Service was very friendly throughout. Couldn’t resist a slice of their caramel walnut tart to take out as well 😋

This is one of the best cafes in the city. I visited Amsterdam 3x already and I always ended up here because they convinced me the first time. The food is awesome, the staff is nice and attentive and the atmosphere is so cozy.
