De Bokkerijder in Wijk 01 Vaals

We were very welcome, even with our dog, despite our somewhat muddy and sweaty appearance after a trail along the border. We had delicious tomato soup and a Monsieur Veggie, yum. Our dog even got some attention! Friendly staff, beautifully decorated restaurant. Highly recommended!

Beautifully situated restaurant with a view of Vaals and Aachen

When we're in the area, we like to visit "Bokkerijder." There's plenty of parking right at the restaurant and even more nearby. The surrounding area is, of course, ideal for long walks and getting some fresh air. The restaurant is well-maintained and attractively decorated. For children, there's a great playroom in the back with a climbing frame. There's plenty of space, and in the summer, there's also an outdoor area with a fantastic view of Aachen and the surrounding area due to the restaurant's elevation. The staff is very friendly and attentive and happy to accommodate special requests. The food is very good, beautifully presented, and of very high quality. The prices are moderate and more than fair for the quality, especially considering that restaurant prices in the Netherlands are generally higher than in Germany. With that in mind, I would even consider it a bargain. The coffee, which is roasted in-house, is worth mentioning. Tip: You can also buy the beans there for a very reasonable price.

Very tasty food, beautiful view, very hospitable welcome, good and fast service. Only had to wait a bit long for the bill.

We were here on vacation in Vaals. We were first asked to move to a different table because of a large group! (No reservations at the table, nothing.) But whatever. We were then shown to a table tucked away behind a pillar. We weren't asked if we wanted anything else to eat afterward. We were literally ignored from that moment on. I've never felt so unwelcome. This was definitely the first time, but definitely the last time. They're taking the restaurant further.

Good stop for a coffee and cake break after a car journey

Since there are 3 borders very close this place is located on the Dutch side. There is plenty of parking space so there should not be a problem with parking. The food was delicious. We had a breakfast and that was flawless. The pastry was probably the highlight along with the scrambled eggs. The price is also acceptable as it is 15.5 euros per person for the breakfast, and the portions that you get for those 15 euros are worth it. The atmosphere along with the indoor decorations were amazing as well as the staff were professional, kind and very friendly. The restaurant has a nice view of the nearby historical city of Aachen which is worth visiting as it has nice historical town center. Overall this was an amazing experience and I certainly recommend visiting this place and having a breakfast.

Just came for a cup of coffee and a large, delicious slice of pie with whipped cream. I asked for a glass of water with my coffee to take some medication, but I think the waiter overlooked that.

It was our first time there. We ordered a coffee, an apple spritzer, and fries with mayo. 1. Bad service, and on top of that, we got our drinks, and my still apple spritzer was probably already prepared and brought directly to the customer. And then we waited and thought we'd get our fries, but no one came. After 15 minutes, we were fed up and wanted to pay. Since there was no server around, I went to the cashier, and the bill still said fries. I told them we didn't get any fries and didn't want any more because we were leaving. No apology, nothing. Rude and disrespectful!

The cake was delicious, and we also had a delicious hot chocolate. The staff was friendly.

We arrived at 10:45 for lunch, the waiter didn't take our order properly, 1 hour 20 minutes later still nothing and when we asked him he told us it was too late because it was past noon, not at all business-like, very disappointing, zero out of ten for the waiter

Beautiful view and excellent restaurant

Excellent service, beautiful view, and had the opportunity to meet a group of football players who also came to eat at the restaurant. The restaurant is big, wide, and beautiful, perfect for a dinner with family and lovers.

We went for dinner last weekend, during our stay in Limburg, after visiting Vaals, the tri-border area. We actually wanted to eat at our hotel/restaurant, but our attention was drawn to the terrace and its beautiful view. The food was delicious, good value for money, and the service from both gentlemen was excellent, friendly, and efficient! It really gave us that holiday feeling; in short, we highly recommend it.

We had something simple—a coffee and a soft drink—but the food looked great, the views incredible, and the gathering of different groups, families, and athletes taking a break from their bikes. The multicultural atmosphere enhances the experience, and its location on the border of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany is conducive to a good time. The service was good, and the bathrooms were clean. We liked it.

Located very close to the three-cushion point

Wonderful restaurant. You really get your money's worth. We ate there twice last summer (2024). We went again this summer (2025). The quality is still excellent. My wife had the schnitzel. My youngest daughter and I had the salmon. My oldest daughter had the XXL hamburger, and my son had a pancake. We all had ice cream for dessert. It was delicious, and we all enjoyed it. I can tell you: that doesn't happen often 😉.

It's really nice for breakfast, and the prices are very reasonable. However, they don't serve oat milk for coffee, which I think is normal these days. But otherwise, everything's great!

We sat and ate here for the first time, and we definitely didn't regret it. We were lucky to be able to sit at the back and enjoy the view. The service was fast and friendly.

Wonderful atmosphere, super friendly staff. We had a lovely spot with a beautiful view. On the terrace, there are binoculars where you can take in the beautiful scenery for €1. The staff member pointed out the indoor play area, where our 4-year-old son can climb, slide, and play games. The staff made eye contact while talking and involved our son in taking his order, which we appreciated. We are so glad we traded our previous brasserie for this wonderful, hospitable location. Conclusion: A customer-friendly location where you can relax as a family, where the staff makes you feel welcome and gives you a relaxed holiday feeling.

Total chaos. One of the guests can watch his friends eating. When the group eating has finished everything, the last plate of food arrives. The order was 'entered incorrectly'. Very atmospheric place with a terrace with beautiful views. You can relax, drinking e.g. a beer and enjoying the closeness of nature. Fast service. The drinks we ordered were received in a few minutes. A large selection of beers, wines are available.

Very disappointing, we were referred to a small table and couples who came after us without a reservation just sat at large tables by the window. The order was brought wrong. So we had to wait again. First there was pie and then you have to hear that there was only apple and cherry pie left. In short, a big disappointment, not worth driving up for us, unfortunately, because it seemed so nice. The toilets at the ladies were extremely dirty, a lot of rubbish on the floor too. It's because you have to go, otherwise we would have passed. At the men's it was fine. Only that hand dryer on the wall is super inconvenient, my trousers got wet.

Nice place to stop if you are near the Drielandenpunt. The view from the terrace is beautiful, and there is enough choice on the menu from Limburg classics to simpler dishes. It is also nicely set up for children, with a play area inside. Nice view, extensive menu, child-friendly. Only in the children's area the wall drawing is not correct Luxembourg?

A great place to have breakfast with a beautiful view. The children quickly disappeared... a great play paradise with a climbing course and a lot of love for the little ones ensured that everyone had fun. The little ones in children's heaven, the adults in peace with their coffee. That's how it has to work.

This place is on the Dutch side of the three borders area and the place has a very nice atmosphere and views. If you are coming with little kids you will especially enjoy it because they have a very big kids area that lets you have lunch or dinner peacefully while eating. The food is nothing special, but the staff is very gentle and helpful.

I think the waiter (man) was on his period, it was a pity he acted like that, no tip, but he ate a really tasty pie 🫶
