A great restaurant with very friendly service. My family and I enjoyed a good meal here, with both meat and vegetarian options. The waitresses were courteous and not averse to jokes. German was also spoken. The atmosphere was pleasant and not too loud, even though it was busy.

After our first visit, we immediately made a second reservation because we were so impressed. There's a small selection of vegetarian dishes, and the two I tried were outstanding. My grandparents also loved the meat dishes. The service is fast and courteous, and the atmosphere is cozy.

We were here for the first time and immediately made a reservation for the day after next. We haven't had such a delicious meal in a long time. The service was great, fast, and friendly. The food was excellent. And the location wasn't bad either, just a few meters from the large parking lot.

Best Peking duck I've ever eaten.

This restaurant is by far the best Chinese restaurant we've ever eaten at. Everything is just right here: the food is super freshly prepared, and the service is super friendly. The prices are comparable to German prices, but you get, for example, extremely tender, fresh meat for your money. And the sushi not only tastes great, it's also beautifully presented.

I picked up food there, and I can tell you, it was fantastic, and the portions were generous. If there were more stars to be given, I'd be there. Insanely delicious, I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Egmond. Highly recommended 😌😏🤤

Unfortunately, I can't confirm the good reviews. I wasn't impressed with the food overall. The appetizers were all frozen, the so-called fried rice was—like the fried noodles—tasteless, extremely oily, and topped with some kind of unidentifiable, pressed ham. The main courses were all very fatty and, as a result, sat heavily on my stomach. The pork made me absolutely disgusted after the first bite. The only positive thing: the food was hot. What a shame! Regarding the service (which, of course, can't be fully evaluated due to a pickup order): Picking up the food was quick and easy, but the employee wasn't particularly friendly either.

Insanely good Chinese food! We got takeout. Huge portions, absolutely delicious, very friendly service, and there was a special waiting area for pickup – very thoughtful! The food was ready very quickly and piping hot when we got home. Highly recommended!

We were in Egmond for a weekend and ate there again. The entire staff was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. The food was excellent as always, and gluten-free options were no problem. It's a shame the restaurant is so far away from us.

Update 2025: Still excellent service, still absolutely delicious food. Personnel is multilingual. Menus available in several languages. Someone pointed out a small amount of veggies with the meal.I cannot confirm this. We had plenty of vegetables with the dishes of our rijsttafel. Very friendly and efficient service. The food (Rijsttafel) was very good, too!

The most delicious sushi ever! We've been here a few times now, and the sushi and Chinese food are both delicious. The service is also fantastic. They always give us a little something extra, and we always leave feeling very satisfied. Highly recommended!!

Unfortunately, we can't replicate the positive experiences here. While the food was prepared promptly and the portions were very generous, that was unfortunately all there was to it. The taste was a complete disappointment; one dish had no sauce at all, making it very dry and bland. The other dish was also barely seasoned. Unfortunately, for the price, it's really unacceptable.

Really the best Sushi ever! And so funny how it was explained very well that the tomato soup is really very, very, very sweet. Still ordered and it was delicious! But the sushi was really great as well as the friendly service. Too bad we don't live nearby.

Very delicious food. They responded quickly to our allergies and brought something different. Always made sure we had full glasses. A wonderful experience at the Chinese restaurant. Be sure to reserve a table, otherwise it will be difficult. They apologized several times for the noise from the guests with several children. They were quite loud, but it didn't spoil a wonderful evening for us. Many thanks to the team at De Chinese Muur.

What a wonderful restaurant this is. You can eat fantastically there, where the friendly hostess helps you to make the right choice. In short, great and will definitely eat there when I am in the area!

The dishes are a bit different from what I'm used to from "German" Chinese restaurants. Personally, I felt they lacked vegetables. Otherwise, everything was tasty. The prices aren't cheap, but they've gotten more expensive everywhere these days. The portion sizes were adequate. The service is excellent.

I was beyond thrilled with my visit to this Chinese restaurant! The atmosphere is authentic yet modern – you immediately feel welcome. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and quick, without being intrusive. You can tell that a lot of love and quality goes into their work here. The value for money is also absolutely spot on. This was our first time in Egmond and certainly not our last at the Muur! We received a very friendly welcome and were shown to our tables. We had various starters, all of which we loved, and we shared the main courses, so I can say that all six dishes were truly delicious. And everything was very hot. There were two types of rice and noodles, and they were all hot, too. Unfortunately, there was no room for dessert... So: definitely go (and reserve a table in advance!)

We had the pleasure of eating here on two separate evenings. The restaurant is located in a small side street in Egmond aan Zee. Excellent cuisine with very friendly staff. We enjoyed every bite of the food, it was simply fantastic. We consider the price-performance ratio to be appropriate. The pictures speak for themselves.

We had reserved a table for 4 people for tonight, 2 adults and 2 children. The service was friendly and the food was fine. Several things had fallen from the table during our dinner from an unfortunate coincidence; a napkin, a knife, another knife and a glass. After the glass fell, the hostess told us that it was very dangerous that many things had fallen from our table, and that the children had to be quiet. Our children are 9 and 10 and were just eating civilly at the table. This reprimand felt very uncomfortable because as a guest you feel quite embarrassed at such a moment. After paying (where we gave a tip of 5 euros because we found the service at the table very friendly, except for the hostess' comment), we were again approached by the hostess that her comment about the glass was about the safety of the children and the liability of the restaurant. We have never felt reprimanded in this way before in the catering industry. This lady's pedantic tone was unnecessary and inappropriate. The hospitality was hard to find at this time. When we explained how we experienced this, she did not listen to it but started the discussion with us. This means that we left the Great Wall of China with a very unpleasant and unsatisfied feeling. Never again!

We have eaten at many Chinese restaurants in the Netherlands and had many different experiences. This restaurant has a high rating of 4.7 stars, so we came here specifically to experience it, but the result was a bit disappointing. Their food is very spicy and salty. The shrimp appetizer is very delicious, but the taste is enough to go with a bowl of rice. The Sichuan soup (hot and sour soup) also tastes very good, but it is also very strong. The main meal is a sweet flavor common in Dutch Chinese food (I like it). The lamb chop is a highlight, very delicious, but the other two dishes, roast duck and stir-fried beef, are very salty. The sauce of the stir-fried beef is very interesting, I don’t know how to describe it, but it’s not unpalatable. The roast duck is a leaner kind, and it will be better if it is paired with the attached honey sauce to reduce the saltiness. The roast duck and stir-fried beef were placed in small rice bowls with no presentation, which was a bit disappointing. What is different from other Chinese restaurants in the Netherlands is that the coffee and tea provided with their dishes must be consumed after the meal, and only drinks can be added before or during the meal. Their table dishes do not come with desserts such as ice cream. It is speculated that because the average consumption in this seaside tourist city is relatively high, it is understandable that they hope that guests will order more drinks and desserts with higher profits. It is still recommended that the saltiness be adjusted, because the burden on guests' health caused by eating too salty cannot be solved by drinking more drinks. Healthy meals can also make guests willing to eat more often to increase the rate of repeat visits.

The restaurant is soooo great. The service is very, very friendly. We have rarely experienced that. And that has been the case for many years. Always top service. The food is really tasty and fresh. The meat is always tender and well seasoned. The beef with spring onions is our favorite. But the dishes with duck are also great. Clear recommendation!

Soooo delicious! A bit inconspicuous from the outside, but an absolute recommendation: we were warmly welcomed, even though it was very full and we hadn't made a reservation. We were given two more seats at the counter where sushi was being prepared. I'm not a sushi fan, but what was prepared there looked phenomenal. We ourselves had Chinese à la carte and our dishes were really great with the ingredients and spices!

Delicious food, service was very pleasant and personal. We came for the sushi, but the sushi chef was on holiday so we opted for a 3 course menu. We had an excellent meal. It was extraordinary! Will definitely come back to try the sushi or eat the delicious menu again.

Always delicious Here we have become repeat offenders. The card is presented “as a matter of course” in German. The selection is very diverse, and the beer menu doesn't need to be hidden either. Fresh to the table is very important here. Everything was great and therefore 100% recommended.

Ambience? Oh well. Service ok. Starter was good, but the main course was nothing at all!!!! Different variations of meat were ordered, cold, duck beef and pork completely fried!!!!!! We have never experienced tasteless from an Asian!!! Maybe the restaurant is overwhelmed with the out-of-home business?? There was a lot going on! We definitely won't anymore, €60 with a starter for the meal is already steep! In the big city, a maximum of €40.

Table reservation is simple and uncomplicated. We were warmly greeted at the reception and when we ordered we received all the information about the spiciness of the sauces. The plates were preheated and the presentation of the food was a dream. We decided on a combination and were surprised with a taste explosion. The dessert was an absolute blast. Value for money completely okay. We have never eaten such delicious Chinese food and would like to thank de Chinese Muur for a successful evening.
