A solid 5 stars, Great for this snack bar in Hollum. Good fries and Raspatat (for the fans among us). Their soft ice cream is delicious. Fast service and a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Very friendly service, good portions of soft serve ice cream, they even have the good old ice cream...with frozen chocolate and various colorful sprinkles 😍

I didn't have fries, but chose the spicy chicken sandwich. It was very tasty, well-filled, and flavorful. The service was a bit slow, but it was also very busy, so I completely understood that. As a tip, I would like to suggest cleaning the tables and benches a bit more often. There was a sticky layer on them, which was less pleasant. Otherwise, it was a good experience and I would gladly come back again.

Fries cold and soggy, snacks overcooked, expensive business

I was on a date and ordered a cheeseburger special. The burger came with a cheerful face and a good balance of vegetables, burger, and sauce. We both had a tasty milkshake that was nice and thick (as a milkshake should be). The staff is friendly and delivers your food with a smile. Compliments on the wide selection. A really good little place!

Finally found a decent milkshake. It didn't taste very chemical, so plus points. Besides, you're barely supposed to get a milkshake through the straw. This one was so thick that you suck like crazy, especially at the beginning. So, perfect! 5 stars.

The tastiest soft ice cream on Ameland

As a family with a celiac disease, eating out is always a challenge. But here, it's no problem. They offer gluten-free fries and frikandel, so you can indulge in fast food without worry. Very friendly staff, who also speak good German. Unfortunately, only disposable containers are used for everything. This could be improved. In old photos, you can see Tellwr—it was better! They also have good soft serve ice cream—large portions :)

If you're looking for a typical Dutch snack or fast food, this is the place for you. Friendly, helpful, fast, and good Frikandel special, various Dutch croquettes, bitterballen, etc. And, of course, generous portions of fries 😅 Not for the slim figure, but typically delicious, Dutch food.

From appetizer to dessert, you can taste the care and attention of the kitchen. But what truly made our visit unforgettable was the service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely interested. They take the time to explain the dishes and are happy to offer tips on drink pairings. Everything is done with a smile and without being intrusive. Even small details, like promptly refilling glasses and remembering personal preferences, make a big difference. In short: De Fretpot is highly recommended. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Ameland!

Hello dear readers, Today I had soft serve ice cream for the first time in a long time. And I have to say it was delicious. I bought the large one, and it was a bit too big, but it was very good.

Yes, we ate there twice and it was very tasty.

Good food, deliciously prepared, friendly staff. You can sit outside at lovely tables and watch village life go by. Lovely ambiance. I always come here when I'm on Ameland. Definitely give it a try!

We had delicious ice cream there, 4 stars. The service was exemplary, friendly, fast, and good. The ambiance is OK, OK = 3 stars, just shy of 4 stars. Can I recommend De Fretpot? Yes, it's perfect!

Update on July 26, 2024: I recently stopped by again and had the new hamburger that has recently been added to the menu: The Big Fret. Really delicious and will order this more often from the best cafeteria in the Netherlands! Very friendly staff and more importantly: very tasty fries! Excellent homemade satay, definitely recommended. My girlfriend is never really into satay, but when she had the satay at De Fretpot she was hooked. We returned to De Fretpot several times during our holiday. We will definitely come back here when we are back on Ameland for a weekend away! It is also not entirely unimportant that the place is super clean, which I always experience as a very big plus when I go to eat somewhere.

Nette tent, vriendelijke mensen. Patat etc. ook lekker. Duidelijke borden en prijzen. Alleen het softijs vond ik persoonlijk een fikse tegenvaller. Het leek wel een soort mousse of iets dergelijks, het zag er ook anders uit dan "gewoon" softijs. Het zag er ook uit als mousse. Bovendien was het ook aan de dure kant. Jammer. Het softijs haal ik voortaan elders. Verder prima tent om te eten/af te halen.

Leider nicht mehr so gut wie früher.. Pommes sind nicht gewürzt und schmecken lieblos. Keine Ras-Patat mehr, sehr schade.

Mooie cafetaria, goed eten en vriendelijk personeel. Het leven is net een frikandel je moet hem zelf speciaal maken😂😂😂

Vriendelijk personeel en snelle service. Konden goed meekijken voor allergieën. De patat was perfect gemaakt en door zakje zout erbij te doen zelf op smaak te maken! Zeker een aanrader als je in de buurt een snelle lekkere hap zoekt.

Wij waren aangenaam verrast! Deze cafeteria ziet er gezellig uit en heeft voldoende zitplaatsen. Ondanks dat we tegen sluitingstijd pas kwamen was het geen probleem om te blijven eten. Het eten smaakte goed. Als toetje konden we nog een heerlijk(!) romig softijsje meenemen, want de ijsmachine deed het nog. Echt super vriendelijk personeel; top!

If you can have a favorite frituur, this is definitely the one. I'm coming here regularly and the quality of the food has been constantly good over the years. It's always fresh and delicious, no matter if you eat in or take away. The staff is super friendly. Prices are reasonable.

Leuke zaak en lekker eten en heel vriendelijk

Mindestens einmal ist Pflicht wenn wir auf die Insel fahren. Die Jungs auch öfters 😜

Typisch niederländischer Imbiss mit den bekannten Gerichten. Der Klassiker Pommes spezial und Frikandel spezial sind hier sehr lecker. Die Loempia ist schön knusprig und gut gefüllt. Die Burger sind auch okay, aber nicht besonderes. Die Speisen lassen sich auch vor Ort verzehren, allerdings war es als wir da waren sehr Laut, so dass wir froh waren nur auf das Essen zum mitnehmen zu warten. Abgesehen davon, ist der Imbiss aber ordentlich eingerichtet und wirkt sauber.

Wij hebben hier friet afgehaald maar de ervaring viel helaas erg tegen. Om te beginnen bestelden wij 2 aparte friet met saus, thuis aangekomen bleken we een gezinszak friet te hebben gekregen met de saus apart teleurstellend maar te handelen. Vervolgens vind je de saus in aparte bakjes zo klein dat zelfs 50 cent vragen nog teveel zou zijn. Vervolgens begin je aan de friet maar ook deze is helaas niet naar behoren bereidt en helaas ontzettend droog. Om over de snacks nog maar niet te spreken wij hadden saté erbij besteld en het vlees was zo lang gekookt dat je het ook had kunnen verkopen als kauwgum. Al om al ziet de zaak er leuk uit de service is naar behoren aleen eten kun je beter ergens anders doen.

Gezellige mensen, enthousiast. Goede prijs, hoeveelheid en kwaliteits verhouding. Ziet er schoon en netjes uit
