De Imperator Gulpen in Wijk 00 Gulpen

Gulpen is op het toerisme afgestemd met voldoende keuze om een hapje te eten. Willekeurig ‘ De Imperator’ gekozen. Vriendelijk ontvangen en best wel lekker geluncht. Dus voor ons ok.

Wij hebben een truffelburger en een carpacio gehad. Beide waren lekker maar niet speciaal de chardony was vlak. De prijs voor het eten was redelijk voor de wijn mijns inziens te hoog. De locatie is gezellig dn de bedienig vriendelijk.

A fine place in Gulpen. Selected menu, delicately prepared. Recommended!

Great service!! We had the cheese and truffle burger 🍔 which were very good, a lot but tasty!!! Ginger tea and cappuccino was the best ending to our lunch!

NIET GAAN!!!!! Redenen: - Onvriendelijk: We hadden gereserveerd voor 10 personen en kregen een tafel voor 8. Toen we vroegen om dat op te lossen, was het voor het personeel al te moeilijk. Vanaf dan waren ze heel de avond enorm onvriendelijk. - Arrogant: Toen we vroegen of de desserts waren doorgegeven, draaide iemand van het personeel (blond meisje met haarclip) met haar ogen. - Gebrek aan hygiëne: Er zat een lang haar in de moelleux. - Gebrek aan afwerking: Korstje van de crème brûlée was niet gebrand + moelleux was ijskoud! - Enige positieve punt: Toen we verkeerde frieten kregen, bracht de jongen met zwarte krullen meteen de juiste. Hij was dan ook als enige vriendelijk.

Lekker eten maar zeer slechte en onbeleefde bediening. Jammer want de keuken doet wel haar best. Lekker eten , maar dit nooit meer. Er is veel meer en veel leuker in gulpen

This restaurant is located in a cozy spot in the center of Gulpen. We had lunch on the terrace, but the traffic is sometimes a bit annoying. The service is friendly and fast. We were less satisfied with the food. The restaurant claims to be very 'grandeur' on its website, but in any case the lunch dishes could not live up to that. My companion had the naan bread with grilled vegetables and I opted for the club sandwich with ham, cheese, bacon, chicken and some greens with 'homemade' sauce. The (white) bread was bone dry, the portions of meat praised in the description did not even fill a hollow tooth and two leaves of old curly lettuce stuck to it with a layer of vague dressing. I won't go here again for the food, so I don't know if dine-in guests might be more satisfied.

Restaurant that is located in a nice location and therefore has a lot of traffic. Nice and large terrace on the well-known catering square of Gulpen. Nice, extensive map. We chose 3 different starters (you can share these) and pasta and hamburger as a main course. The dishes are beautifully prepared and tasty. However, the pace of serving, the mistakes the service made and the unsociability that some waitresses radiated made our experience here less enjoyable. We understand that Saturday is a busy day. However, sometimes it took so long that it wasn't so much fun anymore. We also felt that they were running with too few staff and that the kitchen could not cope. Drinks were forgotten to serve, as well as an accompanying salad with the pasta. Then there was a mayonnaise on the bill for which it was not known in advance that you had to pay for it separately. All in all, the food is nice, but the service still has room for improvement.

Really worth it. Good food and I mean more than good, even when it is busy everything is delivered on time.

We had a delicious meal on the terrace, but our main course took a very long time because she forgot to pass it on.

We have reserved a spot for 7 people (including 3 young children) at 6:00 PM. We ordered bread with dips and bread with herb butter in advance to tide us over until dinner for the children. An hour later, at 7:00 PM, we were finally served the appetizer, after an hour of waiting you expect at least a nice warm sandwich from the oven or something similar. Unfortunately we received a number of dry slices of bread and a few pieces of "more luxurious" bread for +/- €13. It looked like they had collected all the leftovers and supplemented them with leftover lunch bread. Anyway, our food arrived almost as we expected and perhaps this made up for everything. The clock ticked further... Children became increasingly restless, and our 4-year-old son started crying that he was hungry and wanted to eat so badly. After asking what the situation was, we got a sneer from the waiter (presumably she was the head of the service) that the people in the kitchen only have 2 hands. At 7:45 PM (so more than 1.5 hours later after ordering), we got up and walked across the street to have something to eat at the snack bar. Scandalous, if you are short of hands, let us know and limit the number of guests. Be in In any case, it is clear to people with children that it can sometimes take an extremely long time.

Great meal. Not high-end cuisine, but still of very good quality. Price-quality ratio is excellent. What we find very important is that the coffee is very tasty afterwards. Despite the crowds, very friendly staff.

Alles klopt hier. Gezellig terras, goede bediening, binnen ook mooi. En verzorgd. De menukaart is heel leuk en voor ieder wat wils, niet van die afgezaagde gerechten. Prijs kwaliteit verhouding is meer dan goed. Er wordt duidelijk aandacht aan besteed. Wat ons betreft hot spot in de regio.

What a delicious meal we had here! Ordered a few starters to share, plus the ribs and a truffle burger. With the main courses you get the option of fries or sweet potato fries. The only downside is the fact that when you pay you suddenly see that you have to pay separately for mayonnaise, even though you did not ask for mayonnaise. We think one euro per container of mayonnaise is unnecessary. The experience was very good, but you feel a bit cheated when paying and that is a shame. Definitely a recommended restaurant!

Ordered schnitzel tonight, was told that they only had forks but no knives, sorry but my jaw almost dropped, never experienced anything like that.

Forgot the starter first. After 1.15 hours asked where the main course is. Told 3 times that it was coming. Blunt response. Asked for the bill, again blunt response. Why? Can also be communicated in a different way. Very customer unfriendly.

Spareribs were all lumps of fat around the ribs, were quite sick. Complaint filed, was offered a free meal in compensation. Very unfortunate, service was friendly.

Cozy terrace. Messy operation. I ordered a cheeseburger. Everything on the bun is delicious, but the hamburger itself is very disappointing. A thin dry piece of meat. I can't recommend him.

Had a beer on the terrace. There is no price list for the beers on the terrace. 50 cl liter of Paulener Hefe Weissbier appears to cost 8.20 euros, at checkout. It was tasty, but I think 16.40 for two beers is pricey. From now on I will ask the price before ordering , but it might also be nice to mention the price on the price list (as formally required).

Very tasty meal. It is a nice restaurant in the center of Gulpen. The welcome was a bit cool, but it could have been a bit more cordial. Mainly from one of the waitresses. After a while she thawed a bit. Other employees were very friendly. But the food was really great, excellent price-quality ratio and it was more than enough.

Zeer klantonvriendelijk en dat is nog zacht uitgedrukt. Je zit al bijna 2 uur op het terras, mag niet reserveren, totdat het hun uitkomt en wordt zonder een woord te zeggen een bordje gereserveerd op tafel geplaats. Als je dan een opmerking plaatst, krijg je een grote mond.

Very customer unfriendly and that is putting it mildly. You have been sitting on the terrace for almost 2 hours, you are not allowed to make a reservation until it suits them and without saying a word, a reserved sign is placed on the table. If you then post a comment, you will get a big mouthful.

Delicious sandwiches, cozy terrace, quick service. A bit too hasty, customers feel a bit rushed. Service is friendly.

Lekkere maaltijd, goed terras. De bediening was uiterst vriendelijk. Zeker een aanrader voor een tussenstop of als je een nacht in Gulpen verblijft.

The food is mediocre, the service is ok. But €9 for a piece of cheesecake is really too much. And without asking, mayo is served and added to the bill.

We had a reservation and our server told us that we cannot order food (the kitchen was too busy). She said perhaps at 9PM (20 min later). At 9PM, she told us that we cannot order food off the menu. She would not even provide us with a menu. This is probably the worst service I ever experienced. I can comment on food as we were not allowed to order.

Unfortunately, we ordered decaffeinated coffee, but barely slept because the coffee clearly contained caffeine. Other than that it was okay.

Sat in the sun for 10 minutes on the almost empty terrace. The lady came out 3 times. She was preoccupied with herself and with “famous guests?” Unfortunately she didn't see us. I sat on a terrace in the sun a village further away.

Food was very tasty! Also a friendly waitress! But I can only give 3 stars for the food. Because there was a hair in my food.

De Aziatische gerechten, zowel voorgerecht als hoofdgerecht waren fantastisch, redelijk geprijsd echter het water ook al genoemd in recensie van maart 24 is nog duurder geworden, 12 euro, op dit moment in de winkel te koop voor 1,19 dus 16x duurder dan de winkelwaarde, voor een wit bier, 0,5 liter zou dat overeenkomen met 32 euro, gelukkig rekenen ze daar maar 8,20 voor. We hebben het in de zaak gemeld, meisje was het met ons eens, maar…….

It was a great dinner. The menu is delicious. It was very busy and I recommend booking a table in advance. You can choose to have the starters as a main course. You can choose 4. I do recommend the tagliatelle scampi. We went with the kids and they have a kids menu as well.

De saté was erg droog, de schnitzel was daar en tegen weer heerlijk. Wat dan toch de slechte review maakt is dat we € 11 voor een fles water moesten betalen. Buiten proporties!

Delicious food, tasty bruschetta, well cooked steak (medium was really medium) and cheesecake. Cozy furnishings. And a tip for the owner: be considerate of Cecilia, who single-handedly took care of the entire service, friendly and firm and kept an overview, compliments (and hopefully a pay increase) for her!

Meh. It was....fine. Felt like an exercise in wasted potential. Tasteless chicken burger, bone dry tuna, zuurvlees was roughly 50g of nice meat in a sea of sauce, boring beer options. Fries were okay. Service was fine. It was just... so plain.

Very cozy restaurant with very good friendly service!

Made a reservation for dinner at 9:30 PM. Once we arrived we were told that the kitchen was already closed for dinner at 9:00 PM (and that on a Saturday evening). Handy if you post on the site what time your dinner will be served. The staff was not cheerful either, you could clearly see that the person who came to our table did not feel like doing her job. The restaurant itself looks nice.

Heel leuk restaurant. Het eten (uitsmijter Imperator en tosti Hawaii) was uitstekend. De inrichting met de mooie banken is heel leuk en de bediening was vriendelijk en attent. Kortom een aanrader.

Mooi plekje voor een drankje, Bourgondische bitterballen waren heerlijk.

Eerste en laatste keer, NIET het Limburgse gastvrijheid! Zojuist gegeten en gedronken bij de Imperator, het aantal sterren zegt het al.. een slechte ervaring en kan het ook aan niemand aanbevelen. Ontzettend botte en slechte gastvrijheid. Meneer (kaal met strak baardje) gooit alles zeer hard en vervelend op tafel. Reageert bot naar de gasten en staat er naar onze beleving hier liever niet. Wij werken zelf ook in de horeca, maar hoe de omgang hier met de gasten is, is niet waar de horeca omgaat. En alles behalve "gastvrijheid". Erg jammer want het eten is wel gewoon goed (complimenten aan de keuken) Zeker niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Lekker eten voor een goede prijs. Vooral een soort Brasserie. Het is binnen echt als een café. Schnitzel en saté waren top!

Matig restaurant. Vrij druk en best lang wachten. Zuurvlees qua smaak echt heerlijk, maar erg weinig en ook weinig friet (lauw en melig). De burger was redelijk. Groentetuintje salade was weinig fantasievol. Geen proteïne erbij. Serveerster vraagt of het heeft gesmaakt en reageert niet wanneer je aangeeft dat het lekker smaakte maar erg weinig was. Kortom, toetje ergens anders gegeten.

Supergezellig terras met uiterst vriendelijk personeel. Zeer goede biertjes en lekkere hapjes. Kortom, een heerlijk plekje om te genieten

Vriendelijk personeel, snel geholpen, groot terras. De cheeseburger is niet perse een aanrader: ipv gesmolten kaas zit er een soort kaassaus op die veel te aanwezig is, niet zo lekker.

Wij waren zeer tevreden,heerlijk gegeten de Thaise zalm was heerlijk,we werden goed ontvangen door de gastvrije dame en na de tafel begleid.Wat een top restaurant.wij komen zeer zeker terug.Groetjes

Prettig en accuraat personeel! Goede kaart, goed bereid.

Eten is ZEKER niet slecht. Maar kipsate het vlees was wat droog, schnitzel was gewoontjes. Geen extreme maar gewoon. De burger is misschien beter idee. Verders netjes geholpen, goede service.

Heerlijk gegeten waarbij het zuurvlees een échte aanrader is! Het personeel is vriendelijk, attent en zorgt voor een gastvrije sfeer!
