Luckily, we were seated in a very nice spot next to the kids' playground. It was ideal for us as parents to have dinner with the family while playing in the playground. Plenty of staff and very friendly service. The food was delicious!

Little Johnny once saw plums hanging, oh, as big as eggs 😁 Had lunch on the terrace with my wife and two daughters. A delicious lunch with a thick toasted sandwich, a roll with two large croquettes, and a fried egg dish – truly a treat. The terrace or restaurant belongs at a Landal park; I don't know if it is a self-contained unit. You do have to take into account that there is a playground next to the terrace, so yes, for us that wasn't a problem. But unfortunately, some people are bothered by that. Otherwise, friendly service.

What restaurant closes at 7:00 PM?! Especially when the weather was beautiful. The shop and restaurant simply open and close whenever it suits them, and there is absolutely no communication with the park's reception. One evening, the restaurant was still open at 7:20 PM because there were people sitting on the terrace, and we just wanted to eat/get an ice cream, but before we could even say anything, they immediately shouted very rudely that they were closing. Very peculiar, and we have truly never experienced anything like this anywhere else! Also, pay close attention to all of the lady's responses to reviews she doesn't like; that also clearly indicates the overall atmosphere of this "restaurant."

Soup spoon was not clean. Had to return it. The toasted sandwich wasn't a toasted sandwich. Soggy, snow-white bread that hadn't been in a toasted sandwich maker. Cappuccino? Never had such a stingy cup of coffee. Cup too small for a cappuccino. Onion soup. The hard, bitter bottom of the onion hadn't been cut off.

The coffee is tasty, but the service is already grumpy before the start of the season. This is going to be a problem. Perhaps it is because the owner wants to maximize their earnings and claims that the tap water is undrinkable, even for children or for taking medicine. Having the staff push nice, environmentally unfriendly bottled water... why? In this heat? The coffee, tea, and ice cubes can be made with tap water, though, so well... A disgrace. The menu looks good, the coffee is tasty, and there is a playground right outside. Now all we need is a customer-friendly owner 🫣

Edited: I used to come here very often with friends and family in the summer and winter, but I have hereby adjusted my rating to 1 star due to something that has never happened to me before: A few weeks ago, I returned from a long bike ride with my girlfriend towards the Gulperberg and we decided to have an ice cream at Jantje. We have ordered a custom caramel sundae there very often, which is not on the menu but was very often arranged very sweetly by the staff. This time we asked for it again: "I'd like the soft serve in a glass, but with caramel sauce instead of chocolate." It could be arranged. Unfortunately, we received the standard Dame Blanche, whereupon I asked if they hadn't managed to arrange the caramel version this time, to which I was told: "If you order a Dame Blanche, then you get a Dame Blanche," even though I had never used that term. We finished the ice cream and then paid politely. I also asked a colleague of this lady if we could fill our water bottle somewhere. That was possible at the outdoor tap on the facade, so we did that and left afterwards, feeling somewhat disappointed. Today I came with my ten-year-old son to get something tasty to eat, and the same lady came up to us and told me very loudly, without batting an eyelid, that I still had to "apologize for my rude behavior last time when I complained and subsequently filled the water bottle four times with water from the restaurant." Naturally, we immediately attracted the attention of the surrounding tables. I stated that I found this behavior very rude and unprofessional. We finished and paid for the drinks we had already received from her colleague. I explained to my son that we were leaving it at that because we were not welcome. He was very sad but understood. Apologies to all other staff at Jantje. You don't deserve that, but something like this is really unacceptable and has simply ruined the atmosphere for me. I won't be coming back unless I am invited by others.

Highly recommended! Enjoying food and drinks while the kids have a blast in the playground. A real gem!

We didn't even get to eat. Before we were even properly seated, we were sent away. We were told we had to stand and wait in the heat so they could clear away the leftovers from the previous guests. One side of the table was already/still clean, so two people remained seated there, with the waitress's permission. However, the owner didn't approve of this. When we pointed out that we thought it was strange that everyone had to get up to clear a table, the owner got very angry and we had to leave. So, she just sends away a table with 11 paying guests. Apparently, things are going really well for you. But keep this up, and you'll soon be less busy... It's a pity I can't respond to the comment (see photo) afterwards. Two people remained seated on the side of the table that was clean. The rest had gotten up. My father actually asked your friendly colleague if he could stay seated, and that was okay. One person did indeed make things uncomfortable: you. I have never had to get up so that tables could be cleared. And I was never asked to stand in the sun (at 33 degrees) at all. And then you shout: "It is the tone that makes the music!" I hope you were referring to your own tone at that moment?! It is a pity you didn't handle this differently.... You have a nice business and great staff; if you do something about your customer friendliness, there is potential! And why do you respond to all the negative reviews personally? Use them to improve your business; you will get much further that way! And if you have had a bad day, offer your customers an apology instead of just attacking them. Friendliness costs nothing, but it can bring you a lot of money. I actually still don't understand what you got/are so angry about.

Rarely have I had such an unfriendly experience. After we wanted to take a seat at a newly available table in the shade, we were asked to wait to the side so that the table could be cleared first. When someone in our party calmly remarked that the table could perhaps also be cleared while we were sitting, the atmosphere completely changed. The owner reacted immediately in a disproportionate manner, ordered us to leave the terrace, and even indicated that we "never had to come back." Any business owner can have an off day, but the way guests were treated here was unprofessional, inhospitable, and downright rude. We were genuinely surprised at how quickly a normal situation escalated without any provocation, and were left with five very disappointed children who suddenly had to leave the playground because they were no longer welcome at this establishment...

Unfortunately, 1 star. The staff didn't say hello or anything like that upon arrival. They stood chatting amongst themselves for 10 minutes and didn't give us a glance. After mentioning them, we were spoken to in an unfriendly manner. It took at least another 10 minutes for drinks after that. We finished our drinks and went somewhere else for lunch!!!

A beautiful place to enjoy a nice meal after a lovely bike ride. The service is very friendly and our order came through quickly. My wife was particularly impressed with the sour meat.

The restaurant looks cozy. There are plenty of tables and chairs. Reservations are possible, but you can also just walk in. During busy times, there is a chance you might have to wait. The food is well-prepared and sufficient per person. The service is friendly and helpful. When you are with children, the staff handles them nicely. The wait staff asks the child directly what they would like to eat or order. However, it is a condition that the child is also able to indicate this themselves.

On Mother's Day, of all days, very slow service, but anyway, that's not the problem. The real issue was that my soup was so salty I couldn't eat it; first I was allowed to choose another one, then the waitress came back to say the chef said there was nothing wrong with the soup. I had to pay again for a different one. We received a small sparkling water and a table bottle on the bill. Additionally, I had ordered a pizza, a pizza with mushrooms (boscaiola), and received no mushrooms. When I inquired, they said it was sold out; they didn't tell us anything and didn't offer us anything else. The location is great for the kids to play, but the service really leaves a lot to be desired.

We are staying at campsite Europarcs, and this restaurant is located right next to it. Because the weather was lovely, we were able to eat on the terrace. All four of us were very satisfied with the quality of the food and how beautifully it was served. The service was also very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be coming back for dinner again this week!

There is a restaurant and a takeaway. On the first evening, due to the crowds and queue at the restaurant, we chose to get a pizza to go. The pizza was OK, but not great; it could have used quite a bit more cheese and ham. The lady at the takeaway was very friendly. Later in the week, we had lunch at the restaurant. The schnitzel, fish & chips, and tomato-paprika soup with Burgundian croquettes were tasty, better than the pizza. Here too, the service was friendly.

We ended up here as a break during our motorcycle ride and enjoyed delicious Limburg flan with whipped cream, coffee, and tea. The lunch/dinner menu also looked very appetizing, as did the generously filled plates placed on our neighbors' table. The terrace is also nice, but unfortunately, it rained during our stop. From the terrace, you have a very beautiful view due to the restaurant's elevated position on the Gulpenerberg.

It was nice that there were vegan krotetjes (you don't see that often in Limburg!) they were very welcome after a long walk!

Cosy restaurant! Friendly staff, especially the man who, by the sound of it, wasn't from Limburg ;-). Friendly towards our children. Nice seating area for eating. The sour meat, the pizzas, and the satay all tasted very good! During the meal, they didn't come to ask if we wanted anything to drink anymore, but it was busy too.

The salmon pizza was simply raw.... If you like good pizza, you've come to the wrong place.

We stayed at Europarcs Gulperberg for the weekend, so it's nice to be able to eat nearby on the first evening. We made a reservation just to be safe, partly because we had dogs with us, but that wasn't a problem. They had even taken this into account when choosing our table, which was very thoughtful. Two guests unexpectedly joined us, but that wasn't a problem either. We chose the satay and the sour meat; you are in Limburg, after all! Good flavor, a good portion, and beautifully presented. We had a wonderful time sitting and eating.

Very cozy family restaurant with a nice, quiet atmosphere. Plenty of room to walk between the tables with a stroller. Tip if you are going with children: ask for a low table. There are a number of tables at bar height, which is not practical with a small child.

The waitress was repeatedly aggressive because we wanted to sit in a sunny part of the terrace that, according to her, was closed. The tone makes all the difference. Fortunately, her colleagues were much friendlier, and we still enjoyed a lovely hour on the terrace.

The food, lunch with a small cup of soup, was perfect. Tasty and plentiful. The service was correct and efficient. The only downside, if one may even mention it, was that it was quite noisy with the many children.

Cappuccino with flan. Both delicious. The cappuccino foam is nice and creamy and soft. Service is friendly and fast. Why not 5 stars? Well, because of the racket of screaming children in the playground right next to the terrace.

Because I can't tolerate any noise at the moment, my wife asked if the music could be turned down due to my PTSD. She responded immediately. Very sweet, and otherwise, we had a lovely evening.

A visit to Jantje (etc) had two sides. The coffee with the excellent flan was a great start. But unfortunately, the main course, the Limburg Sour Meat, contained mostly a lot of sauce and very little meat. And of course, gingerbread and vinegar belong in sour meat, but here the chef had added both ingredients very generously. Otherwise, a nice spot in a beautiful location with friendly staff.

On a snowy Friday evening, I spontaneously went to dinner alone at Jantje Zag in Spruimen. From the moment I walked in, I received a friendly welcome, which immediately created a pleasant atmosphere. The steak was delicious, and the dessert was also truly delightful. Everything tasted great. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and relaxed. A big plus for me: the music wasn't too loud, allowing you to eat and enjoy yourself in peace. All in all, I had a wonderful evening. Thank you for the delicious food and hospitality — I will definitely be back! 😊

We had such a lovely time! The food was absolutely delicious — I would honestly rate it number one in the Netherlands when it comes to quality and taste. The customer service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I highly recommend trying their Angus beef burger and the schnitzel with mushroom sauce — both were outstanding!

We love it. The food is fantastic. The decor is beautiful. The acoustics are great. The staff is fantastic. They definitely deserve a raise! Highly recommended!

People, look at the way this lady responds to everything. Every review with a point of criticism gets a sneer. That alone is unprofessional. Unskilled and unfriendly, especially to the owner. To children and animals. Unacceptable!

After a long day of driving, arriving from southern Germany, you'd like a drink after checking in. The terrace was empty; it had been raining, so we went inside. There, the two of us were put in a dark corner. We ordered two beers, and a little later we were asked what we wanted to eat, but we didn't want that, just a beer. This wasn't appreciated; there were only a limited number of places to eat, so just a drink wasn't the right thing to do. According to the lady with glasses who served us, it was a restaurant, and now we were taking up a place for diners. Very unfriendly, and we felt completely unwelcome. So, for the rest of our stay, we didn't go to this restaurant again! The website clearly states that you can go there for coffee, pie, drinks, and/or food.

I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, and after finishing one half, I wanted to start the other. Then I saw there was a bug in it. I told the staff, but they didn't give me a new one. They said it wasn't there when we brought it. Poor service, in my opinion. There were also a lot of wasps, which they don't bother with. The food is generally fine, but I wouldn't go back.

During our week-long vacation at Europarcs, we ate every single one. Whether it was coffee, pie, lunch, or a hot meal. We were satisfied with the food and the prompt service, and we always left a (we thought) generous tip. Until the day before our departure, when we wanted to have a drink at 4:30 PM, a table opened up where we wanted to sit, but a waiter came to tell us they wanted to keep it free for diners; there wasn't a queue at the time. We only wanted a drink. Unfortunately, this wasn't allowed, even as regular guests. Very rude. That's what you get back, even if you always leave a generous tip. We didn't return after this, but the remark kept us busy the whole evening. For this reason, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

We've eaten there a few times. The food is good, but if you have a question or want something extra (like a sauce or something), it can be a bit tricky. The steak wasn't red on the inside either, which was a shame. It's often busy, so I understand that, but a bit more customer service would make the place even better.

"The customer is king" is a principle they don't care about. During our visit to this restaurant, I saw not one but two groups of people being treated extremely disrespectfully. We were also subjected to full treatment. Therefore, I'd like to suggest that this restaurant close immediately and start a plant shop. They don't talk back and don't leave reviews. They don't complain when umbrellas aren't opened and they sit in the full sun. They simply die in silence. While we don't. Perhaps retraining wouldn't be a bad idea. Since several guests heard this behavior, and you had no problem whatsoever with the "you'll never see me here again" remark, this could very well become a reality. Humanity will thank you for it, at least.

We used to be huge fans of this restaurant, but since early 2025, it's been consistently disappointing. The staff is extremely rude to customers, making us feel uncomfortable when a customer was loudly rejected. Only four dishes can be ordered per table, and these can't be customized. Opening the parasol, despite it being 27 degrees Celsius, wasn't possible. We were blamed for switching tables. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, our food was canceled with an aggressive gesture that we should never return. Of course, we weren't planning on doing this again, but this reaction will certainly make us share our experience widely.

Extremely disappointing! The staff has an extremely negative attitude and is rude to customers. They refuse to open a parasol despite it being 26 degrees Celsius. Only four dishes per table are allowed. We used to come here regularly, but after this experience for the second time in a row, we are certain: we will NEVER BE BACK. We considered booking the adjacent campsite at Europarcs, but with this restaurant, that's also not going to happen.

The food was delicious, but the service was terrible. I'm now seeing a review from last week with the same issue. Your response was that they would work on it. I received my salad, and within a minute, three wasps were in it. No wasp precautions anywhere. I indicated I wanted to eat inside because that's not feasible. This wasn't allowed. Imagine if everyone wanted to go inside, was the response. So??? That's called hospitality! It's not that there weren't any staff, and it wasn't that busy either. The team complains and gossips about others, while we, the guests, are sitting around. They're especially joking about all the guests' complaints about the wasps. The woman with the jam-jar glasses is the absolute worst. She hardly worked, by the way; she was just chatting with her friend on the patio. If that's the owner, you should be ashamed of yourself as a company. Incidentally, there were two excellent staff members. 1 had problems with her leg and the other had leopard print pants and these helped us well.

It all started off great: a sunny day, friendly service, and delicious food. Until...we wanted to move inside because of the large number of wasps that frightened our two young children. The manager wouldn't let us in. When we asked to speak to him/her, we were told the manager wasn't even there! Anyway, we were finally allowed in, until we entered and a staff member felt compelled to loudly voice her displeasure: "This is unacceptable, and you shouldn't be acting like this, Julie. Wasps don't do anything." No question about allergies; just a blatantly unfriendly comment. NO, this is not a pretty sight. We sincerely hope the child is dismissed, or at the very least, required to take a course on customer service.

After reading the previous reviews, I was a little hesitant. But completely unwarranted! Beautiful restaurant...lovely terrace with a view of the hills and the playground. The food was on the table in no time and was delicious! The portions were generous and the staff friendly. We'll definitely be back this week.

Gingen om 1600uur op het terras zitten, wij waren met z'n vieren en een kindje. We hebben zelf 2 honden en die gaan overal mee naar toe, zijn ze ergens niet welkom gaan wij door naar een ander restaurant. Maar bij Jantje was het geen enkel probleem, netjes bij en onder onze tafel. We hebben eerst wat gedronken en hebben om 17:30uur wat te eten besteld,we namen 2 x pasta en 2x de Angus burger, de gerechten waren goed bereid en smaakten bijzonder goed, complimenten aan de chef. Als desert gekozen voor een Dame Blance, ook deze waren heerlijk (groot) 😉 al met al, heerlijk gegeten en gezeten, we gaan hier de komende 2 weken zeker nog een paar keer heen.

Bad service was just pushed into a corner. They said that everything was reserved. But afterwards there were still guests who could choose a table and also had not reserved, I think that is a bad thing.

Extremely cozy, both inside and out. The staff is super friendly, the menu is small but delicious. I had the Black Angus burger yesterday and again today, and it was delicious. A solid 5 out of 5.

The food was really not tasty. Taste ratio was not right, not restaurant worthy Also reported to the staff but was told "there is nothing wrong with it" 4 small pieces of meat in a stew and a limp cutlet and 15 pale fries sorry that really can't be done for that price.

Heerlijk gegeten op het terras. Lekkerste salades ooit! Ook de bediening was super vriendelijk ondanks dat ze het zo druk hadden. Wij komen zeker weer snel terug.

We went for a bite to eat with 4 families (11 people). When ordering it turned out that you can only choose 4 different dishes per table due to the busy kitchen (excluding children's and pizza dishes). Since we had not seen that, we were made aware of it. We had shifted and adjusted to 5 different dishes, but it turned out to be unacceptable. We even offered to split up to 2 separate tables (parents/kids) so that they had 100% of the income from our ordered dishes. That also turned out not to be good, we had to leave! Unbelievable how antisocial and even almost rude the owner reacted. Then you dare to allow yourself a bit 😡 Fortunately, there are still plenty of other catering establishments that do welcome guests with open arms. Jantje saw plums hanging is not worth letting them earn even a euro! And the lady with glasses (read owner) is anything but customer-friendly and arrogant in a TOP way! To puke 🤮

We gingen met 4 gezinnen (11 personen) een hapje eten. Bij het bestellen bleek dat je maar 4 verschillende gerechten mag kiezen per tafel i.v.m. drukte in de keuken (exclusief kinder- en pizzagerechten). Aangezien wij dat niet gezien hadden werden we erop geattendeerd. We hadden dusdanig geschoven en aangepast naar 5 verschillende gerechten maar bleek niet acceptabel. We boden zelfs aan om naar 2 losse tafels te splitsen (ouders/kids) zodat ze de 100% inkomsten hadden van onze bestelde gerechten. Ook dat bleek niet goed, we konden vertrekken! Niet te bevatten, hoe asociaal en zelfs bijha brutaal hoe de eigenaresse reageerde. Dan durf je je wat te permitteren 😡 Er zijn gelukkig wel nog genoeg andere horecagelegenheden die de gasten wel met open armen ontvangen. Jantje zag eens pruimen hangen is het niet waard om überhaupt maar een euro te laten verdienen! En het brillenmevrouwtje (lees eigenaresse) is alles behalve klantvriendelijk en arogant op en TOP! Zum kotsen 🤮

We waren met 11 personen. Het werd goed bevonden dat we met zijn allen aan een picknicktafel gingen zitten. Vervolgens mochten we maar 4 verschillende gerechten kiezen. Hierop hebben we ons willen splitsen met tafels. Dit werd niet gewaardeerd, waarna we zelfs weg gestuurd zijn.. zeer onvriendelijk personeel. En dat terwijl we al terug gegaan waren naar 5 verschillende gerechten. Schijnbaar kunnen ze het zich permitteren...

Wanted to get a table outside with our big dog around the corner. Quiet place! But a very hurried lady in the service said that it was only for larger groups. She approached us very outspoken and unpleasant and not amenable to reason. When we walked away we saw that tables in the quieter part were occupied by 2 to 3 people both with and without a dog!

Got some delicious fries here. A bit pricey though
