I got to attend a wine tasting here yesterday. The food was amazing, the staff super friendly, and the wine fantastic too!

The food was served quickly and was very tasty. The staff is very friendly. They came by regularly to ask if everything was to our liking. The price-quality ratio is good. Definitely recommended.

The food was tasty. The service was friendly, but the proceedings were a bit odd: we were escorted to our table in the back and then left to fend for ourselves. I had to walk to the bar to ask a staff member. The ordered drinks arrived quickly, but the food came too quickly: barely time for an aperitif.

The spareribs were fine; the meat fell right off the bone. There was a lot of it. The dessert was unusual; it was supposed to be something with strawberries. It did taste somewhat like strawberries, and there were also 3 mini pieces of strawberry next to it.

Particularly fine cuisine on a pleasant terrace. We had to wait a long time for an aperitif, but then the main course arrived immediately. The timing could be better.

From the outside, the service and quality are not immediately visible, but I highly recommend visiting here once so you can truly experience it! Top job ladies, keep up the good work, for your kitchen as well.

Had a delicious meal, friendly staff

What a delightful experience this was. Everything was perfect down to the last detail, and the food was truly fantastic. The dishes not only looked beautiful but tasted exquisite as well. We were particularly struck by the presentation of the dessert on the glass plate. The combination of the pink heart-shaped cookies with the fresh yellow ice cream was a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. We really enjoyed the care and attention devoted to every detail in the kitchen here. We will certainly be back soon.

We had a delicious meal, fish platters for starters and sparring for the main course. That was a substantial portion.

Friendly staff, good portions, good taste. Atmospheric restaurant. What could be better? A house appetizer would be nice considering the pricing. Other restaurants do that better. And make sure the prices are correct! The menu still listed the old prices! That is really unacceptable. By the way, a menu without drink prices is a minus point for me. Many things are going well, but there is some work to be done to earn 5 stars.

We had a truly delicious meal and enjoyed ourselves; we will definitely do this again. All the flavors were spot on, the cooking was excellent, and the staff is very nice.

Beautiful place, delicious food, fast, friendly service. The latter was absolutely top-notch. The lovely ladies regularly came by our table to check if everything was to our liking. We really appreciated that; it was wonderful. The food was excellent. Served with warm vegetables, fried potatoes, and fresh fries. Truly superb. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful evening out with delicious beer

You know, the food and all that is fine. But what struck me was how the staff is treated by (apparently?) the manager. Young waitresses, who are really trying their best. Until a small mistake was accidentally made at the table behind us, well... the girl was scolded. That could be done differently, you have to cherish your staff! And train them if you want them to avoid making mistakes. But don't go around scolding them in public; they won't learn anything from that. Too bad! The 5 stars for service are also for the waitress...

The food is delicious, and the portions are absolutely generous. The service is particularly positive; the staff is extremely friendly. We'd be happy to go back!

The food was truly exceptional. I haven't had such a delicious meal in a long time. The restaurant is cozy, and the young man serving was also very friendly. One drawback, however, is that the drink prices aren't displayed on the menu. The Merlot, at €8.75, is quite expensive, so it would have been nice if it had been displayed somewhere.

We had a wine tasting with food. It was really enjoyable, with good, clear explanations and lovely wine and food pairings. Highly recommended!

Super friendly service, our dog was allowed to come along, and the chicken satay was the tastiest and most tender we've ever had, and the rhubarb compote was just as delicious. In short, a great place!

Good food, friendly service, and a great wine list. This is how dining out should be!

The starters were delicious, and the main courses were also excellent; they just took a long time to arrive. The only point of concern is the cleaning: dead flies on the windowsill with lots of dust, and dust on the ceiling.

After a hectic day, we finished it here. We were seated in a secluded area with a perfect atmosphere. We had a delicious vegetarian meal.

We came unexpectedly with our family and enjoyed the delicious mussels together. What a nice atmosphere! Especially nice to hear the historical stories and what a nice service. We also enjoyed the wine advice of the hostess! We will definitely organize a family party here!

Just had a super delicious meal in this restaurant. The surprise platter & the weekly special of herring were fantastic. And also the main courses of pepper steak & veal sukade very tasty. Extremely friendly service. Enjoyed!

We only took a main course and both pepper steaks were cooked to perfection. The meal was very tasteful. Also the possibility to order almost the whole wine card by the glass is great. Both my wife and I are wine lovers and this gave us the possibility to even more enjoy our meals. The service is great, friendly and down to earth. We can highly recommend this restaurant.

Had a lovely meal on a Sunday evening outside the season. Pleasant atmosphere. Friendly service. Space for a nice chat afterwards.

This evening was a big disappointment after we had eaten there last year. Maybe it was too busy but the food was very carelessly prepared and bad service. Example: asparagus that were not peeled properly. After repeatedly asking for the wine list only after the starter, etc.

We were still able to get in despite late reservation. Parking almost in front of the door. Neat menu with about 12 starters, 12 main courses (meat, fish, vegetarian) in total and a number of desserts. Service reasonable, got the idea that it was too busy for the number of people in the service. Had to wait quite a long time for the bread board, which was otherwise good. Main courses were warm, but that was all. Side dishes: fries, salad and in my opinion quite sour rhubarb. Bowl of fries for 4 people too little, immediately ordered extra, took a long time before this arrived. Everyone had already finished their main courses when it arrived. Did not order dessert due to time.

Once again a breath of fresh air in the hospitality industry, friendly service and a beautiful business. Top.

Sat on the top floor with the company of old classmates. The interior was very cozy and with beautiful luxurious furnishings, with nice built-in seating areas, long tables and standing tables. The menu was also specially put together for us with a choice of 3 starters, 3 main courses and 3 desserts. The food was really great👍 and good quality and (for a large group) also quickly on the table. So this is definitely recommended for groups too!

Normaal vind ik het voorgerecht het lekkerst maar het hoofdgerecht was echt super! Vlees lekker mals, kruidig en voorgesneden. De bijgerechten ook heerlijk! Ook mijn vriend had een mals gerecht, boterzacht. Personeel vriendelijk en de wijn te lekker! Zeker een aanrader! Ook leuk dat de jongen die daar werkt nog even trots de zaak liet zien hoe mooi het geworden was na de verbouwing 😁

Twee avonden achter elkaar heerlijk gegeten bij De jongens van Joure. Echt een aanrader. De visschotel, de spareribs, de ossobuco en de ossenhaas... echt geweldig lekker. Ook de bediening super vriendelijk en gezellig. Als we weer eens in Joure zijn gaan we daar weer eten!

Had a delicious meal at De Jongens tonight. Good company, good food, good service what more could you want. The mug in the photo contained delicious mustard soup and was part of this platter of starters, super.....

Very tasty food here, excellent value for money and friendly service. The stove was on nicely so it was warm, definitely recommended to eat here. The main course had many extras. I can recommend this restaurant.

We had dinner here during our holiday in Terherne. This restaurant is beautifully located in the center of Joure. The restaurant appealed to us because of its website and menu. The cook (owner) is very knowledgeable and friendly. He even came and served the food himself. The food was really great! The homemade foccacia bread with spreads was delicious, as well as the chicken satay and the forest mushroom risotto. The desserts were also top notch. The only downside was that we found the service rushed. Unfortunately there was little interaction. Perhaps it was due to the crowds upstairs in the restaurant. Our experience was positive overall. The food is definitely worth tasting!

Dinner at De Jongens van Joure was fine, but the wine service brought a smile. After tasting and approving the red wine, the bottle was neatly placed on the table with the cap tightly screwed back on... and our waiter suddenly disappeared. We expected that the bottle would continue to be served, but apparently the service felt that we could arrange it ourselves. Fortunately the bottle was not full and despite this comical moment we had a pleasant evening!

Nice location in the heart of Joure. Especially the outside seating-area/patio is very nice Staff is very young, friendly and helpful- food is of high quality. The prices are still ok, its a lot of good food and beverages for the money.

The spare ribs were fantastic for the pricing and it came with some fantastic fries and other sides. Service was great too. The inside looks very nice but the terrace is lacking a little in comparison, though there was no issue. Highly recommended.

Delicious lunch this afternoon with a nice glass of wine. Owner knows a lot about wine, the dish was delicious, original and fresh. The service and environment are pleasant. Had dinner earlier with the same findings. A place where they take the trouble to serve you something tasty, highly recommended!

We drank wine at a time when there were no customers yet and the staff still had to eat, so it was logically not very vibrant inside.

Went out for dinner with a group of 18 people last weekend. We got our own spot on the top floor where no other people sat. This way we could chat with each other as a group. There was something for everyone in the adapted menu/arrangement with a choice of fish/meat/vegetarian! The service was very smooth and friendly and the food was delicious! On behalf of the entire family: thank you! It was very nice and compliments to you.

Great restaurant. Other guests were very noisy (young and enthusiastic and at work I suspect) we were moved to another place, great! Tasty spare ribs, delicious venison steak. Very tasty appetizer from home (probably always tastes better😊) The sauvignon was delicious!!

A nice restaurant with friendly service. The food is of good quality. The menu may be too 'exotic' for some with pigeon, deer loin and pike-perch. I had a fish platter and the spare ribs were also delicious. The restaurant is spacious (downstairs and upstairs). Personally, the lighting could have been a little less, creating even more atmosphere.
