I still expected that I would like everything so much!!

We had a fantastic lunch there last week. The woman serving us was very sympathetic, told us briefly about the history of the place. The food was superb. Sitting outside on the terrace was the cherry on the cake.

A hidden gem! The menu is creative yet comforting, and the ingredients tasted so fresh.

Really kind personell and creative and delicious dishes! I came to Restaurant de Kas without reservation on a busy friday evening. Hanna(h), the lady at the front desk tried her best to organize a table for me and managed to do so. Also the other colleagues were really kind and focused on making this dinner a special evening for everybody. Besides that, the combination of green house and restaurant workes really well :)

As a birthday present together with my 2 sons we had lunch! First a round through the inspiring garden and greenhouse and then inside. Got a plate on the terrace (25 degrees and lovely under the parasol) and then the eating sensation started. I can't say anything else but what a special experience the food in the Greenhouse is for the mouth and the eye! Exciting flavours, everything top fresh and an extremely smooth and attentive service. With the cookbook in my bag I returned home satisfied ☺️

Special experience as day was fund raiser. Food was unique, delicious and very fresh. Each dish was delivered and explained before we ate. Once in lifetime eating experience.

We had lunch here with six people. Fantastic. Everything was right, the location, ambiance, the food, the wine, the team. We enjoyed it very much.

It was a very … mixed evening. They served us an amuse bouche and gazpacho before even taking our drink orders, and then they removed our gazpachos while we were giving our drink orders even though we hadn’t finished them. We also ordered oysters that never arrived. The setting was beautiful. The scene was lively but not too loud. The server was very friendly. The food ranged between good and excellent. But it was not a one-Michelin-star experience.

Very nice restaurant housed in a large greenhouse with dishes produced with ingredients from their own gardens. Harvesting is done daily for the freshest possible and freshest herbs and vegetables. Clean flavors with very stylish presentation.

Incredible experience, both in terms of the food and dining as well as the superb ambience of the place itself, and the pleasant service. Would highly recommend for lunch or dinner, but booking ahead of time is needed. The whole greenhouse concept behind the restaurant is very unique, which makes it that much more of an experience.

The best restaurant I've ever been to. The lunch menu is fairly priced, around 70 euros for 5 dishes (2 of which are desserts and optional) and the food is absolutely outstanding, from the appetisers to the last bit of dessert. They accommodate yous wishes very well (even if you don't like a certain flavour, the chef will change the sauce or even the base of the dish to make it perfect for you). Being located in a greenhouse, there is plenty of natural light and the atmosphere is great. The serving was also impeccable.

Located inside a greenhouse the restaurant is light and airy. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left the staff were absolutely delightful! Our waitress was so knowledgeable about all the dishes we were served and explained them very well. The sommelier chose our wine for us and it went perfectly with our meal. The food was off the hook! Beautifully presented and so delicious and balanced. Mostly plant based that they grow themselves, with some proteins, we had mussels in one dish and braised goat in another. It's not inexpensive but worth everything penny. You'll need a reservation so plan ahead.

We went for lunch and were seated in the glasshouse part of the restaurant. All in all, from the welcome in the beginning, taking our coats, to the service with explaining how they function and create their dishes, to the very well balanced and fresh tasting dishes, it was just an incredibly lovely experience. In the end, I was sad, that the lunch ended. Recommended it directly to one of my best friends who is often in the Netherlands.

Came here for our one fine dining experience of our trip, and it was fantastic. De Kas pitches you on their farm to table concept, and it delivers. The freshness and flavour that comes through each course is delicious, and the service was second to none. Wine pairing went excellently with every course. Thank you for a great time!

Deliciously curated food creations - many kudos to the chefs! Lovely first time experience with superb waitstaff who described each course in detail. The small plates were sublime and looked as delectable as they tasted. We enjoyed every moment and mouthful up till our final course. No sooner than our 6th course arrived, a draconian staff member swooped by and stood looming above with a portable, mobile payment reader in hand. Our dessert was melting, yet he insisted on immediate payment and refused a request to return in 5 minutes so we could enjoy our final plate. As a Michelin Star restaurant, I'm disappointed. Sadly, this interaction tarnished what was otherwise a beautiful evening and left a bad taste in our mouths.

We ate here our first night visiting Amsterdam over a week ago and it was the perfect start. Each course was incredible and it was fun not knowing what was coming next. The freshness came through in every course and the timing/spacing was great. Drinks were delicious, food was delicious, and the location and ambiance were BEAUTIFUL inside of the greenhouse. We’ll be thinking about this meal for a long time.

Wonderful Mediterranean cuisine, accompanied by exquisite wines and desserts. The salad was fantastic, so I think I'll be back.

I think this is one of my favorite meals I have ever had. Truly incredible from the lush green grounds in which it is situated on to the bright and complex dishes you cannot beat it. Loved every bite of food. The stand out dish to me where the brioche with spring peas and chanterelle mushrooms. Our server was such a sweet guy with charms in his teeth! Couldn’t have asked for any better service. I had the strawberry mezcal cocktail and orange wine both complemented the food well. If I lived in Amsterdam I would be a regular. Worth every single penny, run don’t walk.

It was an interesting experience. Everything would have been great if the food has connected for us, but it didn't. Most of the dishes were just ok, some excellent, and some we didn't finish. The appetizers were great - a green gespacho and cauliflower tacos. Then came a few dishes that we felt were just OK. On the way home we realized that there was way too much acidity in the food and nothing to balance it out. The after taste you get walking out is acid. Service was not consistent, sometimes they would go over the ingredients too quickly, and we had to ask to pay several times.

We have eaten here several times and were allowed to bring our dog. Now that we have made a reservation again for a very special occasion and received confirmation by phone that the dog was no problem, we were suddenly told upon arrival that dogs are not welcome. We of course respect that restaurants do not accept dogs, but then you should also indicate this normally when making a reservation and not only upon arrival at the restaurant. That way we could have decided to leave him at home or eat elsewhere. For such a special day they really ruined it. Even leniency or an exception was not possible, nor did they think about how we could solve this impasse. Downright unfriendly and bad experience. I would have liked to give a zero, but unfortunately that is not possible. Incredibly bad service

Incredible experience from start to finish. A lovely greenhouse style atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. But the food. The food was so, SO good. The gardens outside are picked from daily and everything was very fresh. Each course was not only visually stunning but tasted amazing. I cannot recommend this place enough, it is absolutely worth it.

Not only the food was perfect (other than the ice cream at the end that I did not like) but the location, service and story were all amazing. Not checp, but it is a Michelin star. I thought I got great return for my money here. Only comment I have is that the toilet should be better maintained (and possibly renovated)

Incredible food with incredible presentation! This is not just a meal, it is an incredible experience. They happily accommodated our vegan dietary needs with different variations/modifications of the seasonal menu. We even had an adorable bee friend come visit us during our meal! The atmosphere, service and food is top notch. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Amsterdam!

We had lunch there quite some time ago and enjoyed it. We liked the idea that they grow their own ingredients and serve them fresh. You can see the greenhouse right at the entrance, which is a nice touch. The staff welcomed us warmly when we arrived, and the service inside was good too. They were helpful and open to questions about the food and the menu. Each dish was nicely presented and tasted good—sometimes the flavors were quite strong. When you have several dishes together, it might feel a bit overwhelming because everything is quite flavorful. But of course, that depends on personal preference. We sat in the dining hall, which was a bit noisy. Not sure if it was because of sound bouncing off the windows. It might be better on a nice day when the doors and windows can be opened. So that reason we will head back there again in summer.

This was my fourth dinner at De Kas. I go every time I visit Amsterdam, every couple years. Every previous dinner has been fabulous. This time the featured main course was lamb. But my girlfriend and I do not eat lamb. The substitute for lamb was sauteed turnips. Sorry but that is not remotely acceptable. A piece of fish or poultry would have been fine. If you want to substitute turnips for lamb the cost of the dinner should be reduced considerably. It was not changed, so I left a much smaller tip than I normally would. I do not plan to return the next time I am in Amsterdam. Too bad.

This was an insanely amazing meal and overall experience! Worth the bus ride if you are staying in Amsterdam! I ate some of the best food I’ve ever had, personal favorite was a celery dip with tapioca crisps. It was amazing to see how everything was straight from the surrounding garden and greenhouse. Highly recommend taking a pause in the middle of dinner before it gets dark (waiters are happy to oblige) to walk around the grounds. We saw ingredients we had just eaten and where they had been dug up from the ground. Sitting in the greenhouse was also an incredible ambience and the staff was wonderful and knowledgable about what they were serving. When we asked a question about the homemade liquors, the bartender came over to our table and explained the entire process from start to finish. Highly recommend to anyone who is a foodie, interested in plant based alternatives, or just wants a unique dining experience!

It was an amazing food experience and reminds me of Alice waters Chez Panisse in Berkeley California. Highly recommend commend!!

This was our third time visiting. The first time we loved it so much we decided to host our wedding reception in one of their more private rooms. Upon returning this third time I would say the food was again excellent, but the service seemed to be disjointed and lacked attention. It really is an amazing place, I hope they can pay better attention to the small details.

This restaurant is an amazing concept. They grow fresh ingredients on site in their local area and you eat in a greenhouse. Each course served tasted extremely fresh and novel. They took their time to walk through and explain each of their dishes. The spacing and timing of each course was also well considered. My favs were the tacos, main course of lamb, and the lettuce roll. The dessert was also very good with a french pastry and sorbet. Would highly recommend

Great experience! We came here for the first time & had quite some expectations. If you want to make a reservation for a weekend, you must be there on time (2 to 3 months in advance). These have certainly been surpassed with delicious food, special combinations & a nice ambiance. The employees were also very nice. Would definitely recommend going here.

What a wonderful evening! Bubble in the beautiful garden in the sun and then a 5-course menu with wine pairing. A lot of flexibility in menu, wine and tasting and flavours. Very nice atmosphere and a lot of attention from the staff. Absolutely recommended!

Phenomenal flavors and friendly staff.

We were staying at Hotel Casa Amsterdam, within walking distance, when one of the employees enthusiastically encouraged us to try Restaurant De Kas. With no reservations and a sense of adventure, we decided to try it - and boy are we glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with open arms and quickly found a cozy table for our group of four. It felt like we had stumbled upon a hidden gem - dining in a beautiful greenhouse surrounded by lush plants and warm sunlight. Every dish was made with fresh, seasonal ingredients from their own garden or from local farms. We particularly liked the vegetable-focused tasting menu. Every bite was bursting with color, creativity and flavor. The service was top notch and the staff shared their passion for every dish with us. We came in with no expectations, but we left feeling like we had discovered something very special. De Kas is highly recommended, even if you are not from the area or are passing through. We will definitely recommend it to anyone going to Amsterdam!

The best thing about this restaurant is the ambiance. Really nice. Food is also good, mostly salad and vegetables. However, the service was very chaotic and ruined the experience. While we're sitting, suddenly the whole table was full with bread and sauces, butter, and amuses. We even didn't have a chance to look at the menu. It was overwhelming. We had not finished one thing and the next thing was on the table. Then I asked to slow down. It went OK for dish 2,3,and 4 and then suddenly dish 5 and 6 came together. It felt like they were pushing us out. The service was not attentive and we had to wait long before they noticed us when we needed something. It's a pity that this beautiful restaurant has not leveled up the service with the atmosphere.

De Kas restaurant truly deserves a 5-star rating. It has completely restored my faith in restaurants. We were so impressed by the flavors, the presentation, the attentiveness of the staff, and the cozy atmosphere: both in the main restaurant and the greenhouse, that we’re already planning our next visit. We chose the 4-course menu but were delighted with two additional surprise dishes. Every plate was absolutely delicious, made with ingredients picked that very morning, and each one had its own unique and memorable flavor. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a truly special dining experience.

We were very disappointed mostly because our server had a very superior attitude. They do work as a team, but they all seemed to be similar with their attitudes. We had received recommendations for this restaurant from friends and the concierge. The atmosphere is lovely in the garden conservatory. The food is organic and grown in their own garden which really appealed to us. They asked if we had any food allergies or foods we didn't like. For some reason, the fact I didn't like scallops seemed to really throw them off, but they came up with a wonderful beet and strawberry dish substitute which was the best course of the entire meal. Most of the dishes are vegetable based with the vegetables coming from their own organic garden in the morning. We had 5 courses. They never had a menu so we could see what we were going to have during the course of the evening. The put the dish down and then, they described what we were having. We wanted to have the wine pairing, but for some reason, our server didn't want to do that so we shared a bottle of wine. Some dishes were better than others. The meat was a lamb neck which was just OK...not much meat and hard to get the little bit of meat off. The first two course came out reasonably fast, but the last few dragged out. We were there almost 4 hours for a 5 course meal. That is too long. The amuse-bouche came out last which was also unusual. Frankly, we had other meals in Amsterdam that were better, took less time and with servers that really made a difference in our experience. Other people seemed to have a better time at this restaurant. Again, we were disappointed.

La comida es orgánica y cultivada en su propio jardín que realmente nos atrajo. Nos preguntaron si teníamos alergias alimentarias o alimentos que no nos gustaban. Por alguna razón, el hecho de que no me gustaran las vieiras parecía despistarlas, pero se les ocurrió un maravilloso sustituto de plato de remolacha y fresa que fue el mejor plato de toda la comida. La mayoría de los platos son a base de verduras con las verduras procedentes de su propio jardín orgánico por la mañana. Tuvimos 5 cursos. Nunca tuvieron un menú para que pudiéramos ver lo que íbamos a tener durante el transcurso de la noche. Dejaron el plato y luego, describieron lo que estábamos tomando. Queríamos tener el maridaje de vinos, pero por alguna razón, nuestro servidor no quería hacer eso, así que compartimos una botella de vino. Algunos platos eran mejores que otros. Incredible experience. We came for our son's 18th birthday. He got a little attention - thank you, it's adorable. The kindness of the staff, the quality of the dishes, we enjoyed ourselves. Everything is fresh and delicious. The setting is magnificent and calm. It was perfect.

I rarely write reviews,but this place was amazing. We were lucky to catch a table due to a cancellation as otherwise they are booked a month in advance, but rightfully so. For anyone visiting Amsterdam, I highly recommend trying to book well in advanve and if there was no table, keep checking as there are some spots opening up here and there. The restaurant concept is really well put together. When you enter, you walk through a little orchard straight to the greenhouse, seeing the trees and garden beds where the produce you're served comes from. We were seated at one of the greenhouse like dining halls, which provides a nice continuity looking at the surrounding park. We got seated and had some beautiful cocktails, while a variety of appetizers got served. For a bit we were confused as to whether the appetizers constitute as a course in our 5 course lunch, but as it turned out, almost an hour into the meal, the first real course was still to come. We then had 5 amazing courses. We even asked for a little break in the middle when we started to get full, and took a little walk in the greenhouses and the gardens. Which was a nice benefit of having a table for the whole lunch service, giving each guest plenty of time to enjoy their meal (we were there for about 3 hours). From all the dishes I highly recommend the desserts that were optional (course 4+5) I found the goat cheese ice cream sweet/savory dessert to be the most interesting. Very well balanced with sweet cheese icecream and fruit with a kick of funky goat cheese. I expected the cheese to overpower the dessert, a lot of modern restaurants do sacrifice enjoyability for the sake of being in your face "creative" and end up just tasting weird for the average palate. But this dish managed to bring on the creative twist while remaining very pleasant and easy to enjoy. The second dessert was more traditional( a swert puff with ice cream and kompot), but it was a great combination and one of the best desserts I ever had. A last point to make is that for an amazing 3 hour culinary experience the value is without match, with prices at the level or in some regards even below most restaurants in Amsterdam.

A truly wonderful experience! We came for lunch and were blown away by every dish! It was all incredible and so fresh! The wine pairing was reasonably priced and got us to experience new and interesting wines. The grounds are beautiful! I would definitely recommend making a reservation here!

I didn’t think I would ever say it, but total miss on the menu flavour profile. This was my favourite restaurant in Amsterdam. The menu is based on daily availability and usually you can’t go wrong with it. Today’s meal was way too acidic for all courses. Each plate was heavy on vinaigrette which was covering every other flavor. Very disappointing, however this is the first time I have such bad experience, usually they really know how to tear vegetables

Incredible experience: I came without a reservation this lunchtime and despite the large crowd (and my poor English skills), they did everything to put me at ease, find me a nice seat, as well as explain to me the concept of this restaurant located in a pretty park. All products are seasonal: vegetables, herbs, and aromatics are grown on site in the garden and in a greenhouse adjoining the restaurant. It is a gourmet restaurant with a professional and relaxed atmosphere and service at the same time. As for the cuisine, it's creative, varied, surprising, everything is perfect. In terms of wines, the super sommelier (thanks for your French) takes his time to skillfully recommend gems that go perfectly with the dishes served. The service was also very friendly and professional. Thanks again to the whole team, next time I will come back with my family! Aurélien.

I’ve had lunch at De Kas twice now and both visits were fantastic. The food is incredibly fresh and full of flavor. You can really taste the quality of the seasonal ingredients, many of which are grown on site. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The restaurant is spotless with a bright and peaceful atmosphere. The staff are warm, professional, and happy to explain the dishes or answer questions. For a Michelin-starred place, it is surprisingly affordable. You get a high-end experience without it feeling too formal or over the top. De Kas is a real gem in Amsterdam and I will definitely be coming back again.

I do not have enough words to describe how amazing this experience was. Everything, from the food, the service, the thoughtfulness with each ingredient, the plating, the ambience. If you have an opportunity, you must go. Best experience I've ever had dining, hands down. They accommodate nearly any dietary preferences. Expect to spend roughly 3 hours dining, its worth every second.

Amazing service and atmosphere but the menu was only vegetarian which was very limiting.

Had a lovely lunch at Kas. Super friendly staff and excellent service. Enjoyed a three course lunch where you get tasty amuses and even a scoop of ice cream afterwards. You can taste that the ingredients are fresh and that everything is made with love.

Un muy buen concepto, excelente comida y excelente relación calidad-precio. Si esperas una experiencia Michelin tradicional mejor vete a otro lugar, aquí hacen las cosas de manera diferente. Mucha verdura con sabores muy ponzoñosos, muy poca carne y pescado, pero en general un excelente sabor. Los precios son más que competitivos, se puede tener un almuerzo de 3 platos a 50 €. El servicio a veces es un poco lento pero muy amable, no esperes que te molesten como en un restaurante Michelin tradicional, pero eso se suma al ambiente relajado. Sin código de vestimenta. En general, un almuerzo muy agradable

Great place for a special occasion. Difficult to get a reservation and quite pricey but definitely worth it. Takes a while to eat there so definitely allocate a whole afternoon/evening. I am vegan, but ate there with my non vegan parents. It was great that the staff accommodated me and made every dish that my parents got almost exactly the same, just vegan. It really felt like we were eating the same meal together, which we haven't done in a while.

A beautiful restaurant and a beautiful location really close to public transportation so it’s super easy to get to even though it’s sort of out of the downtown area. Large open seating area with major greenhouse vibes. Lots of drink options with the vegetable/vegetarian focus menu where you can get five or six courses. Lots of free snacks throughout including bread they will top up if you want. Super friendly service. The courses are timed out a little more spread apart than I’m used to so come prepared to talk and have a good conversation. All in all one of my favorite restaurant experiences. Excellent! :) Our waiter was super attentive, he did his best to explain everything to us in Spanish with love. The spectacular dishes, they have their own garden. Highly highly recommended, if we return to Amsterdam, we will repeat ;)

A tostada is always served with a toasted tortilla. My “tostada” was literally a taco :( Service was very good. Else, was a general fine dinner experience.

Fantastic service, relaxing not pretentious atmosphere, and beautiful food combinations! My favourites were the beetroot gazpacho, tapioca chips with the dip, pumpkin-muscle skewer, oyster beef tartar, and pork shoulder (I believe it was pork shoulder, but I could be wrong. It was the main course right before the desserts). The drinks are actually reasonably priced, and there’s an interesting selection of wines to choose from. It was our first time in De Kas, but definitely not the last one, as we enjoyed every bit of it!

Where to start!!! From the moment you walk in you are greeted with smells from the greenhouse and kitchen. The restaurant is bright and airy. Food .. quite simply exquisite.. every mouthful is joy. Course after course of pleasure for your mouth. Staff are super friendly. If in Amsterdam it's a must. We booked in advance and highly recommend you do so. I can completely understand why this place is busy.

Great restaurant and nice atmosphere

Really good restaurant. We tried the chef’s menu and all options were pretty good. Maybe the alcohol free beer could be some bottle option instead of can. The service was perfect. If you want to book a table try by email as in their website is almost impossible.

Wow, what a beautiful location! And so big (during our visit on Friday evening there were 150 place settings for dinner) but oh so beautiful and cozy, really beautiful! It doesn't feel like it's that big at all. No noise pollution either, tables are sufficiently spaced and acoustics are really good. Everything runs super smoothly and the service is very friendly. All dishes are really great, very refined and all real flavor bombs. There was also a dish specially adapted because someone in our party did not like mushrooms. Highly recommended. Also top price/quality.

Delicious meals prepared with fresh vegetables harvested from their own greenhouse, friendly and helpful staff, and a warm interior decor. Highly recommended! Those arriving by car can park at the paid street parking on the main road just in front.
