We have been coming here for at least 20 years. Always very friendly, good food and they really give you their time. It is quite spacious and the tables are certainly not too close together. The prices aren't too bad, especially for what you get. Highly recommended.

Ordered food here today, ordered the Spring deal + soup. The food was tasty and it was more than enough. Good portions and the prices are fine. Perfect for 2 people! We just moved here and this will probably become one of our regular restaurants for a quick takeaway!

Four of us ate here, 2 ordered Grandmother Hou Yuk which was spicy and tasty, the ordered Tie Pang Hau Yuk was tasty but not spicy at all, a real shame. The Ka Lee Kai Poo was a disappointment, very flat in taste and the curry sauce was thin and not tasty. The service was also disappointing, it was not the friendliness, but the long wait for the starters and main courses took a very long time while the restaurant was quite quiet.

It's just a shame that when you order crispy bacon, you get NO vegetables. As well as the collapse on a regular deep plate. Still a bummer.

Today the four of us went to eat for my mother's birthday. I can say in one word it is fantastic food, super friendly service and very atmospheric interior!!! The expectations were quite high but they were definitely exceeded. For us a fantastic restaurant.

What scammers these are... never eating here again. We came home with 16 people who had paid for it and the receipt was only checked. Seriously ripped off, there were things on the receipt that we did not have. Never eat here again.

We chose the 7 course menu with 6 people and it was excellent. Friendly service with clear explanations of the various dishes. Owner was very courteous and hospitable. One of the 7 courses was an oyster dish, never eaten such large oysters before. Delicious. Finished with desert and a French coffee. We ended up dining for almost 2.5 hours. An excellent experience. Ooh ooh those oysters.....

We had dinner here for the first time on Valentine's Day. We used to always go to Tai Wu, but we found this very disappointing recently. The New Chinese Wall will be our regular restaurant from now on. They serve fresh and super tasty food. The owner is super customer-friendly and really thinks along with you. We had someone with a number of allergies, she wrote it all down and made sure that he too could enjoy their delicious food. Prices are also fine. In short, we are certainly satisfied and will be back soon!

Absolutely fantastic! Hands down the best Chinese food in Rotterdam. The service was excellent, and the dishes were super tasty —delicious dumplings, perfectly roasted Peking duck, and an incredible seabass. Highly recommend!

Bad service! We called the store at 5:30 PM to place our order and were told we could pick it up at 6:00 PM. When we finally got there, I was told that the order had been placed at 7:00 PM without hearing anything. Then asked how that was possible because the receipt even said 6:00 PM, but they couldn't explain that and suddenly they couldn't do anything about it.

Order regularly. I'm done with it now. The beef was full of tendons, unedible. As a single person I also pay more than 30 euros. The food has really deteriorated. Very sorry.

Everything was wrong at this place. I went with my friend/ colleague who is Dutch. They always spoke to her and ignored me completely (because i am brown?). The food they served me was terrible. They didnt bother to even powder or mix the spices . They put a bowl in front of me where half a litre of oil and a lot of whole spices were floating. I couldn’t remove the spices as they were too many. Neither could eat them as there were too strong in taste. I couldn’t eat anything at all because I had had to consume the oil. When i told them, they didn’t react, didnt even make eye contact with me. Finally when the bill appeared they chose to also present it to my white friend again ignoring me. I would never go there again. More than the food the way they treated me talks the whole story about them.we paid €90 for the two of us of which i paid €45 for this horrible food and service pathetic. Edit: Priscilla, Thanks for your reply, but i wasn’t born yesterday and i can tell the difference when someone struggles with the language or when someone completely ignores you without even eye contact. Thank you for the offer to serve me other dishes but i will not be visiting again. Good luck serving customers of your liking.

Delicious food, the food was more than enough and we were allowed to take the rest with us. Good and cozy atmosphere, we were advised satisfactorily and we now regret our choice. Good business, see you soon!

Cuando llegamos aquí por primera vez para cenar, la comida no era genial y el servicio era pobre. Pensamos en darle otra oportunidad para el almuerzo. Eso también fue un desastre. Solía viajar a China a menudo y estoy familiarizado con la cocina china y cantonesa. Lo que De Nieuwe Chinese Muur sirve es una versión occidentalizada de ambos; no auténtico chino y cantonés. Pedimos su versión de sopa caliente y agria. Durante la primera visita, le preguntamos al servidor si hay cerdo en la sopa agria caliente. Incluso usamos una aplicación de traducción porque no parecía saber bien holandés o inglés. Durante nuestra segunda visita, hicimos la misma pregunta a nuestro servidor y ella dijo "sí". Esto puede ser un problema para algunos. También pedimos dumplings. Se obtienen 3 dumplings por pedido y son muy gomosos. Además, no es costumbre comer albóndigas al vapor con salsa agridulce. Creo que en este punto la cocina se puso perezosa. Nuestro mayor problema alimenticio fue con los "camarones con verduras frescas de temporada" (versión en inglés del menú). El plato es Chi Choi Ha. Nos sorprendió cuando llegó porque todo lo que tenía era varios camarones y una tonelada de bok choy. Sin otras verduras y sin mucha salsa de la que hablar. Cuando preguntamos dónde estaban las "verduras de temporada" (énfasis en plural) dijeron que el bok choy era la verdura de temporada. Esta es la primera vez que he pedido este plato donde al menos no se obtienen hongos, zanahorias, brócoli o guisantes de nieve. El manager era muy cortés y tenía una actitud que reflejaba: "No puedo creer que no supieras que 'verduras de temporada' significa solo bok choy. " Como dijo mi amigo, probablemente consiguieron sus verduras en el cercano Albert Heijn por lo que había en especial. Durante una de nuestras visitas, también pedimos 1/2 pato de Pekín. El pato estaba duro y seco. Ninguna cantidad de salsa Hoisin podría humedecer ese pato. De todos modos, además de la mala actitud del personal, el servicio es muy lento. Asumimos que algunos de los platos están pre-hechos teniendo en cuenta que no recibimos nuestro té hasta después de que llegaron nuestros aperitivos. Ordered fried pineapple for the little one. When he takes a bite, the dough is still completely raw on the inside. Submitted a complaint via home delivery and they indicated that the restaurant did not want to do anything with the complaint. Very unfortunate.

The food is Cantonese but not traditional . Tasty ? Yes . Better than a TaiWu ? , the other wellknown but traditional Cantonese restaurant , No . So .. if u are used to adjusted to western taste Cantonese food , like for example restaurant Hongkong in downtown Rotterdam , De Nieuwe Chinese Muur is something for you .

James, Jade, and Priscilla really have one of the most beautiful Chinese restaurants I have ever been to. With a warm welcome and an overload of food, we were delightfully surprised by the richness and quality of food combined with the knowledge and true compassion from family Wang. Would highly recommend!

Bunch of scammers. I paid 16 euros for 4 different dishes and instead I just got a bowl of noodles with curry mixed in, and then I also claim that that is the "standard price". When I called to complain, I also got a loud mouth. I'll never get anything here again.

Filthy scammers. I order noodles with sja sieuw, shrimps and vegetables and get 1 container. And then when you complain they say those are standard prices. I can get a bucket. I'm going to report it to the police.

What a wonderful thing! The babi bacon was incredibly tasty. Really as it should be. We also had a steamed Turbot and it was delicious. The owner knows what he is selling and has an excellent understanding of wines and whiskey.

We went here really last minute. But ambiance and service was good. The food was also pretty good, however, a little spicy for one… can be very spicy for someone else … We had 1 vegetarian and she ordered nasi as side for her main dish. The side dish contained meat. We asked if it would be possible to get some plain rice of nasi without any meat. This was no problem at all, however, the rice never reached our table. We did not ask a second time though. The price was OK but slightly on the higher side.

We had dinner here with a group of 7 for my mother's birthday. Due to a surprise, a reservation was made at 6 p.m. and the birthday girl arrived at 6:15 p.m. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by a passive aggressive owner who associated our origins with the fact that we were 15 minutes late. He also gave away the surprise by saying 'the ladies are around the corner' while my mother did not need to know that and this was clearly stated, but okay. We had made reservations in advance for 10 people because initially 3 more people were coming along. Once we arrived and was told that it was limited to 7 people, the owner was a bit offended. He forced us to another table because he called himself a 'perfectionist' and doesn't think it is professional to put 7 people at a 10-man table. We had a good seat and it really wasn't bothering us that there were 3 places available and we heard at least 8 times whether we really should move to another table. We then decided to remain seated at the table, with much sighing from the owner. The owner himself is a man who made passive aggressive comments to us all evening, but he thought it was funny. For example, 'Oh you're going to have the Peking duck with pancakes? Good thing, because that's for lazy people like you ha-ha' or while we ordered more dishes, 'payment will come after you'. I have to say that we let it pass us by all evening, but he may also have the wrong customers in front of him. This experience with the owner who served us has made eating at this place less enjoyable. Apart from the behavior of the owner, the food was really tasty, it arrived at the table quickly and the price-quality ratio corresponds. The concept is also nice, you can choose it as tapas but also as a large dish. I would definitely go back for the food, but if I am served by the owner again, I will say something about it.

Ordered food for delivery. After 2 hours nothing. Tried calling but their phone is off! If they were too busy, they could have at least called me. I have now gotten food elsewhere. If this order still arrives, I will refuse it! Luckily I would pay with cash.

Great experience, great food, not expensive. To be honest, we didn't pay much more than, for example, a Turkish pizza for the four of us

We recently visited the restaurant for lunch. Being a Saturday afternoon, we expected the restaurant to be full or at least little crowded. But to our surprise, we were the only people at the entire restaurant. 😀 The food tasted so authentic and flavour full. Staff gave good food recommendations. Being vegetarians, we had limited dishes in total to select, which was little disappointing. But their food tasted very good and more importantly “comforting” for a winter afternoon.

Het eten was echt voortreffelijk. Het duurde wel wat lang voordat het eten kwam maar voor de rest was het echt perfect.

Met 11 man gegeten, een verzameling gerechtjes. Lekker en goed, maar niet overdadig veel. En je betaalt toch ongeveer € 25 pp. Bij afhalen zou je voor hetzelfde geld de hele straat eten kunnen geven 😃

Na 100 jaar weer eens naar een Chinees restaurant. Eten was lekker, voortaan liever eerst de specialiteiten en dan pas de gefrituurde gerechten waar ik geen fan van ben. Prijs/kwaliteit over de hele linie prima maar €7 vragen voor een 0,75 literfles water is wel echt belachelijk.

Met gezin afgelopen zondag hier gedineerd. Om 6 uur zaten we aan tafel, om half 7 wisten we na wat advies wat we wilden bestellen. Pas om 7 uur konden we na ons verzoek daartoe eindelijk bestellen. Druk druk en diverse klanten klaagden en die gingen voor. We voelden ons behoorlijk gepusht door de eigenaar om niet allemaal tapas gerechten maar vooral hoofdmaaltijden te bestellen. Daarom 1 gerecht minder besteld en toch 1 groot gerecht want daar zat ook nasi bij. Overweldigd koos mijn vrouw voor een gerecht dat zij het minste vond. Ook wou de eigenaar extra bier pushen etc. Leek of het van het huis was voor het feit dat we vergeten waren en zo lang moesten wachten. We namen nog 1 biertje en een fles tafelwater (0,75 liter) want het was heel warm. Pas ver na 8, net toen we wilden weglopen kregen we de gerechten. Op 1 na erg zout en de Peking eend bleek droog. Slechts 1 vd 6 gerechten was goed. Erg teleurstellend dus. De eigenaar zei dat het zo zout hoort maar andere klanten klaagden ook hierover en ook de nasi was ongewoon zout. Ook de rekening was teleurstellend. We moesten gewoon de volle mep afrekenen voor de extra drank om de wachttijd door te komen. De nasi die bij het hoofdgerecht inbegrepen was, stond ook nog op de rekening. Dat realiseerde ik me thuis pas.

Deze Nieuwe Chinese Muur is niet zoals "De Chinese Muur". Het is geen dimsum restaurant. De sfeer was goed en personeel was vriendelijk

Hier met 6 personen heerlijk gegeten en ons laten verrassen. Vlotte vriendelijke en gastvrije bediening. Niet het standaard chinees/indisch restaurant wat het dus anders maakt (in positieve zin). Prijzen zijn niet laag te noemen maar prijs/kwaliteit is goed in verhouding.

Excellent restaurant asiatique ! L'une de mes meilleures expériences jusqu'à présent. Des chips gratuites en grande quantité au service parfait du début à la fin dans un cadre exceptionnel, je ne peux que chaudement recommander ! 👍 De plus, les plats sont vraiment bien réalisés et riches en goût. Je reviendrai ! ❤️ PS : pour le prix, c'est environ 19.90 pour un plat principal mais avec le riz inclus, ce qui est un bon prix pour Rotterdam et le service fourni. Il y a aussi parfois des réductions avec The Fork.

Fantastisch eten heerlijke wijn en geweldige bediening. Dit is niet zomaar een Chinees dit is echt Aziatisch Fusion Laat je verrassen door de eigenaar te laten kiezen. Absoluut geweldige ervaring.

Gezellige sfeer en heerlijk gegeten!

Wij komen hier al jaren. Betere Chinese keuken, hoewel men ook babi pangang serveert. Sfeer gemoedelijk. Bediening adequaat. Zaak mooi en comfortabel. Wij hadden het Chinese Menu, aangevuld met wat extra’s en dat was smakelijk. Wij hebben hier nog nooit slecht gegeten en het is dus een veilige keuze. Hoewel men iets te veel de wijn pusht en tegenwoordig is dat niet zo verstandig. Een punt was dit keer teleurstellend. Bij het afrekenen “dwong” de eigenaar mij tot drie keer hardop het bedrag van de rekening tegen hem te zeggen, met pinautomaat in de hand. Toen ik dat beleefd weigerde, want gênant, ging hij het zelf loeihard tweemaal over de tafel roepen. Duidelijk bedelend om een fooi. Toen ik gepind had trok hij het doosje, voor de fooi toch, hard uit mijn handen en rende weg. Wij renden toen ook maar weg. Nog nooit meegemaakt, zelfs niet in toeristenvallen. Navraag later bij de beste man: “ik heb slechte ogen, hahaha, maar jullie zijn leuke mensen”. Wel, slechte ogen of niet, hij was zakenman genoeg om even geen slechte ogen te hebben toen hij het bedrag toch maar tandenknarsend intypte. Dit is natuurlijk slecht gastheerschap en bij navraag daarna de gast beleefd weglachen nog meer. Jammer voor zijn personeel, nu was er geen fooi. En jammer voor ons, maar er zijn tegenwoordig genoeg alternatieven voor zijn concept te vinden. Maar dat gezegd hebbend: deze zaak is een veilige keuze als je dit soort gedoe op de koop toeneemt.

Als vanouds heerlijk gegeten bij dit restaurant. Vriendelijke bediening. Enorm flexibel toen een van ons veel later kwam door file. Kortom uitstekend!

Zeer goed chinees restaurant, waarbij de smaken en de kaart op een veel hoger niveau staan als een regulier restaurant. Ook de entourage en de sfeer zijn super !

We hadden een aantal gerechten besteld met 3 bakken bami, helaas was de bami niet vers en was het opgebakken en er zaten aangebakken stukken in. Tegenvaller… maar toen we bak 2 & 3 open maakte was het meer als een tegenvaller. dat rook gewoon aangebrand alle bami smaakte verbrand waardoor we het weg hebben moeten doen. Erg jammer.

Bagger als je vroeg hoe lang gaat het nog duren zeiden ze het is geen carnaval heb er ruim 3 uur gezeten en voor het toetje weg gegaan 65 euro armer.

De beste Chinees waar ik ooit ben geweest. De zaak is schitterend ingericht, het eten zeer verfijnd en verrassend, porties groot, bediening uiterst vriendelijk en voorkomend. Een compleet avondje uit, waar de prijzen vrij normaal zijn.

Toiletten waren defect tijdens de Kerst. Gasten dienden gebruik te maken van Dixie buiten of gebruik maken van het toilet van het nabijgelegen restaurant. Het had op zijn plaats geweest als het personeel de gasten vooraf even had geïnformeerd en bv een drankje of koffie vh huis had kunnen aanbieden voor het ongemak. Het was tenslotte wel Kerst. Tevens was het erg lang wachten op het eten. Jammer maar ondanks de ongemakken wel lekker gegeten.

Bestel daar minstens 2 x pm . Eten altijd lekker, bakken goed gevuld.

Verwarming was "vergeten" aan te zetten. Het eten was niet bijzonder, personeel was meer met zichzelf bezig dan met klanten. Jammer voor een Fine Eastern restaurant.

We had dinner here and everything was excellent. The food was authentic Chinese, something that isn’t easy to find in the Netherlands, and very well prepared. We had Wonton soup and dim sum to start, from a nice selection, lovely Peking Duck and beef tenderloin that was very tender. The service was attentive, helpful and friendly. A great find in Rotterdam!
