Nice place, good food and polite and efficient service.

Yesterday we had a celebration with the family. We asked the Chef to surprise us. We had a great dinner with authentic chinees food. Thank you Mr. Chon for your hospitality.

We ate an amazing duck meat and we definitely recommend it.

If you want to wait an hour for your food without normal excuses or as a gesture a drink on the house or something. This is the place to be. Lousy service

A delicious Cantonese restaurant where hospitality and authenticity are 'simply' the basis. Where else can you find that? Well, here! Hong Kong has a classic and warm interior, impeccable table linen, lovely staff and fantastic Chinese gastronomy. An extensive menu with good vegetarian options and the best Peking duck in town. Great!

We ate here with friends on Christmas eve and everything from the service to the quality of food was excellent. Lucas is a delight. When we next visit Rotterdam we will be returning to Hong Kong for more peeking duck and Kung Pao chicken.

The food was really great, well priced went with a course meal in 2 people. Every dish was really nicely made, tasted wonderful. Service was polite and helpful, felt very homely. Would recommend and will come again.

While traveling in Rotterdam, I searched for this Hong Kong restaurant and came to eat without hesitation. It has an old-school and solemn Western restaurant style, friendly and professional tableside service, and delicious Chinese cuisine. This is rare in Taiwan. I didn't expect it. Met in Rotterdam, great dining experience, highly recommended! (The photo of the meal is actually missing a piece of steamed fish, because the service staff quickly helped us remove the bones and remove the meat before we had time to take pictures when it was served😄) Next time I have the opportunity to travel to Rotterdam, I will definitely pay a return visit.

We came here for dinner with 4 people. We were seated at a table. Little or no Chinese was spoken there. We ordered duck. The skin was overcooked, and was cut at the table. In itself good then you can see that it is 'fresh', only the duck with half of the meat still on it disappeared at the same speed as it had arrived. It was almost thrown onto the table. They were probably busy in the half empty restaurant. For the amount you can pay, I also expect friendly treatment, instead of the treatment we received. The food was really not traditional Chinese, but Dutch Chinese. If you like bland food and lots of fat, then you've come to the right place.

I have been coming here for years and nothing has changed in terms of quality, service and atmosphere in all those years. In short, this is simply the best authentic Chinese in Rotterdam and the surrounding area. 10+

What a great Chinese, delicious Beijing duck. The funniest service ever experienced. Bent over laughing at the waiter's comments, he would tell jokes in between.

Top! My new favorite Chinese restaurant in Rotterdam. Classy, ​​spicy and excellent service. The chicken with peanut, cashew nuts and Gon Bao sauce, not normally tasty! Interior pleasantly classic. And you know the service is excellent when the owner/host receives you for the first time and calls you by name (which is great, because we spoke once on the phone and my last name is not pronounced correctly by everyone at once ). Best Chinese in Rotterdam! Update 18-10-2024: due to circumstances I have not been here for some time. Now ate here again. Still delicious food and still the best Chinese in Rotterdam! And Lucas is an excellent and funny host.

Reserved for group of 9 people! After their visit to Hong Kong, everyone was unanimous in their opinion: excellent! The quality of the dishes served was excellent, with excellent taste and good heat (temperature)! Furthermore: relaxed atmosphere and very friendly service! Highly recommended!

Great food, vibe , service and people.

The dumplings as a starter were fried and greasy. Main course was okay, but not fresh at all. There were all kinds of strange carved extras that were inedible. Don't throw it on a plate if it's not edible. For the price you pay, I expected a fresher meal with more flavor. Was very disappointing.

Absolutely great. In the past, every village and town had at least one such Chinese. Beautiful memories of food with the whole family, fish cut from carrots and aquariums. These have all been slowly replaced by those shovel sanders :-( This owner refuses and wants to keep the Chinese as it once was. You get warm towels, perfect service, delicious dishes and the Beijing duck is cut at the table. This really is one of our favorite restaurants! That they shouldn't change anything. Delicious food!!

Authentic Cantonese cuisines in a warm atmosphere.

Ended up here by chance... a direct hit!! Very, very nice service and German is also spoken. The food was delicious and everything was freshly prepared. Even the rice chips as a free snack in advance….simply delicious! No sticky glass of sambal oelek on the table, but fresh and homemade brought to the table. The cloth napkins are the icing on the cake! Highly recommended!!!

Had a delicious meal here yesterday with my colleagues. After a friendly welcome that most restaurants could learn something from, we sat down at the table. And then made a choice between a starter and a main course. The food is of an excellent standard and the duck is especially great with the special sauce! So if you are looking for a nice authentic Chinese restaurant, this is the place!

Food poisoning! We went there for early dinner, had a soup, dumplings as a starter and duck as the main course. Everything seemed okay, the place was cute and the service pleasant. Only that 4 hours later my partner started puking and it was the worst food poisoning we had in our lifetime… If I could give it would be zero stars. We are not prickly with food, we eat in different countries and cuisines. So this must have been really expired food.

Excellent service and atmosphere. Without doubt the best duck and pancakes we had ever experienced before. Loved the fish tank complete with Nemo and Dorrey.

What a mockery you say, you can leave out that authentic part, You ask for tomato soup with chicken and you get a bowl of red water with 1 kilo of onions.. That says enough Min 100 stars..

Not reserved, but there was still room inside, there were 3 of us. Wide choice, vegetarian options are indicated on the menu. Fast and friendly service. The food was tasty and we got a nice portion. I'd love to come back!

Taiwoo across the street is popular around here, but I liked this one better. It's not cheap, but the atmosphere is nice, the staff is attentive, and the food is delicious. I went here because Tai wu was very busy, But eventually it was a good choice. Price was not cheap but food was delicious, kindly staff and good atmosphere. There is English and Japanese menu.

The best Chinese restaurant in Rotterdam by miles!

If you want to eat delicious dim sum, this is the place to be.

I rarely write negative reviews, but this seemed appropriate to share. The restaurant told our party we didn’t order enough food, and told us we either needed to order more food, or leave. Also note, this was late in the evening when they weren’t busy, with several open tables still. Was unfortunate to experience such poor service. Can’t comment on the food since we didn’t end up eating there.

It was a cold evening around 9pm and we already had dinner but went in the restaurant hoping to have a light meal - some soup and appetizers. To our total surprise, they refused to serve us, insisting us ordering regular dishes!!! I had never been to a restaurant where you couldn’t order a light meal. Just disgusting!!!

This is where you will be able to have authentic, great quality food and efficient service. Seems like a jump back in time once you enter the place but definitely worth it. The duck is best in town (crispy and even skin, but still juicy on the inside) better than Chung and places like Tai Wu no match. Price range is relatively high but you will enjoy every dish. The spicy chicken is very nice with white rice and steamed scallops with soy, spring onions and soy are very nice in balance. Order a good glass of cold beer from the tap and you are settled for the rest of the evening.

Nice place with friendly staff. They know the menu by heart, you stick your tongue over the dishes when you order and the lady then calls the number 😁. Had a beer and spicy chicken. This was spicy enough and the nasi that came with it tasted great. They will see me there again sometimes.

It was my second time at this restaurant. It is a very cozy place with great food, and the staff is very friendly. Aardig personeel, maar eten is matig. Had er meer van verwacht. Voor de eerste keer gegeten maar helaas ook de laatste keer. Andere chinese restaurants in de buurt hadden geen plaats meer, vandaar dat we bij dit restaurant uitkwamen. Bij aankomst was er slechts 1 tafel bezet, dus dat was eigenlijk al een rode vlag.

Had a wonderful meal that was a mix of traditional Cantonese and dim sum. Biggest surprise (in the best way) was that the food was SPICY! So refreshing to find authentic Chinese food in Rotterdam! We will be back.

Very weird service by the tall man working there. At some point he put on a doctors robe and started asking some weird questions..? Not sure what the intentions were there😅 Food was not very tasty and quite dry - no vegetables with any of the meat dishes we ordered.

Dit ouderwetse Chinese restaurant bestaat al zestig jaar op deze locatie. Leuke ervaring, alsof je in een tijdcapsule stapt. Fijn personeel (tikje anders dan elders, maar dat vond ik juist een pluspunt), en de gerechten waren smakelijk en werden vlot geserveerd.

Geroosterd eend en reepjes biefstuk was goed.

Het eten was zoals gewoonlijk goed verzorgd en heerlijk. Goede vlotte en vriendelijke bediening.

Een echte klassieker, op niveau!

Voorheen vaak bij Tai Wu geweest. Maar qua service en eten vind ik restaurant Hong-Kong beter. Kleinere kaart dus meer aandacht voor de gast en het eten. En de pannenkoekjes met eend waren perfect!!

Fantastische smaken. Personeel vriendelijk maar wat te formeel...

Heel lekker gegeten hier. Peking eend is zoals in China. De leuke bediening zorgde voor een extra leuke ervaring. Ik kom hier weer.

Gewoon TOP, als je van origineel Chinees eten houdt, moet je hier naar toe gaan. De Peking eend is fantastisch, de fijne Bami is echt heerlijk van smaak, de gerechten die we toen besteld hebben zijn allemaal lekker en vol van smaak.
