Very nice place and delicious food

Never had proper Uyghur cuisine before! Was at a conference at De Doelen, and Urumqi saved us from the awful conference food. Had a dry wok dish with homemade noodles and the Urumqi chicken kebab, both really delicious. Service is really friendly. Highly recommended.

I have been waiting for one hour for my most simple food. It’s still not here. 😢

Upon entering, the first impression is not really positive with the atmospheric interior and the plastic tablecloth. The service is also not really friendly. When we arrived we were given the menu, and later after ordering the food she immediately walked away without giving us the chance to order drinks. Maybe because there was only 1 person who was busy because of it? But all dishes were very tasty. It is advisable to ask what is spicy and what is not, because it is not clear from the menu.

Lamb skewers and the Danpanji are highly recommended. More than enough food for 2 people. Don't forget to try the tea too! We would love to come back again.

Great tasty food! I had a lot of trouble choosing, but in the end I received help from the staff with choosing! The prices are also very affordable. You really get value for your money. Nice living room atmosphere and the rose theme really completes it! I was completely devastated by the desserts! So awesome. I have never enjoyed a meal so much❤️

Very tasty food. Noodles have great texture and the dishes are very flavourful. The dessert torts are also very tasty. Nicely layered with good flavour and moistness.

They have really great Uyghur food, I had never tried it before but now I tasted it I want to keep coming back. It’s like a mix of East-Asian and Middle-Eastern flavors. They have homemade noodles and kebab for example, but also many other dishes I haven’t seen anywhere else yet. They serve big portions so be aware of not ordering too much at once. They have amazingly friendly service and you can bring leftovers home. The overall aesthetic is great, not your usual restaurant vibe (they usually don’t play music for religious reasons I believe) but I think that makes it unique. Recommend to everyone who likes good food and wants to try something unique in Rotterdam.

It was fantastic, and cheap too! The handmade homemade noodles are fantastic, have a really good bite, and the dapenji was wonderfully seasoned (we asked for spice, and definitely got it!). Tea came (for 4 people) in a large pot and we had it refilled once. The kebab skewers and cakes are also highly recommended, but without them you will be full before you know it

It was the first time for us to try Uyghur cuisine. Our favorite is the lamb satay, it was so tasty and tender. They use traditional herbs to enhance the taste of the lamb.

At Urumqi restaurant I tried the Royal Lagman and it was a fantastic experience! The flavors were rich and authentic, and the atmosphere in the restaurant contributed to a wonderful culinary evening. An absolute must for lovers of tasty dishes😍

Food was very tasty and fresh. I have really enjoyed it. Chicken wok was very tasty and fresh, even the pasta! I definitely recommend it.

Heerlijk traditioneel eten, unieke ervaring Een fijne kennismaking met de Oeigoerse keuken! Lekker eten, met unieke smaken. Vriendelijke biedingen en handig foto’s bij de gerechten.

We were the only people inside for pretty much 40 minutes after 5:50pm. There is no muzak, just silence, the decor reminds one of a wedding dress boutique, and they didn’t have liangpi or cold shredded tofu (plus it’s no alcohol). BUT all that said: the food is top-notch. The hand-pulled noodles had an irresistible sauce that I uncouthly drank from the bowl. The chuan’r skewers were spot on. And the chicken noodles (essentially, ‘small plate chicken’) were brilliant when taken home to eat for breakfast. The bean sprouts were an afterthought; the Uyghur polo is apparently made with chicken, not lamb, so we didn’t order it. The impressively multilingual server was solicitous. NB it’s a tad pricey, though we definitely overordered—but having the chance to eat food this good, of this kind, is priceless.

Delicious food with very generous portions. Will gladly return with a group of friends to try more dishes!

It's really a hidden gem to be able to taste authentic Urumqi food in the Nederlands. Quite, friendly, good quality and price. Need to be patience as only the owner is serving, small family restaurant but worth it. Highly recommended lamb sate, and freshly hand-made noodles (all types). We would like to try the pizza and also lamb buns but need to reserve 1 day in advance so we'll do that next time. What a city escape to have a relax dinner in this busy Rotterdam. Thank you so much, We enjoyed a lot, our family also enjoyed the takeaway noodles that we bought.

We've had one Kormisi and one Lagman plus a salad and Uyghur tea. The food was impresive, both the portion and the taste! I didn't expect it at all to be such a delicious and spicy food! I really appreciate that I've discovered a very new and tasty cusine. The tea was nice as well and it was served in a traditional nice and big tea pot. The owner was kind and the food came to us fastly. I'm really sorry that cusine is unknown to many people and I hope this review push others to at least give it a try.

The food is amazing! We had the chicken noodles for two for dine in and the beef wook for take out. Satisfied with both of them.

The noodles are impressive that they have great texture and tasteful spices. Everything is in a good amount of portion and worth the price. Nice service!

Absolutely delicious Uyghur food! If you are the first time eating this, the big plate chicken noodle (da pan ji) and lamb skewers is a must to order. They lamb bun is also the bomb! We also order Chao Mian (fried noodle) and some Uyghur fried rice and they are all so flavorful and tasty! The cuisine is like a perfect marriage of Indian spice on Chinese food. Would def come here again someday!

I visited Urumqi Restaurant and really enjoyed the experience! The food was terrific and the staff was accommodating!

Was erg benieuwd naar de Oeigoerse keuken. Duidelijk elementen van de Chinese en de Turkse keukens. Heerlijke combinatie. Bijvoorbeeld de kebab noodles. Eenvoudig eten, niet per se " restaurantwaardig". Maar gewoon prima, smakelijk. Dessert was OK. Wat wel jammer is, is dat de menukaart in het restaurant afwijkt van wat er op de website staat. Dat wekt verwachtingen over gerechten die er dan niet zijn. Of waarvan de bediening enigszins verrast leek op te kijken. Het dessert was daar een voorbeeld van. Kreeg volgens mij toch echt wat anders uiteindelijk. Het zij ze vergeven, want voor de rest is de bediening, de sfeer prettig en het eten lekker.

Heerlijk rustig restaurant. Prettige sfeer. Uitstekend eten. En… schitterend servies. Absoluut aanrader!

Yummy! Should try lamb with bread, very delicious! Roasted lamb was very big for meat lovers, chicken with noodles and potato, and yogurt were not bad too. Nice bread and noodles!

Heerlijk gegeten, chicken wok. Lekkere salade erbij. Rozenthee. Vriendelijke, hartelijke mensen. Fijn restaurant. Hier ga ik vaker terugkomen.

Gezellige huiselijke sfeer. Het personeel was vriendelijk en hielp ons keuzes te maken uit het menu. De noedles waren vers en echt heerlijk! Zeker aangeraden om uit te proberen!

Authentic Uyghur food and humble owner. The Uyghur pasta/noodles with meat were delicious and hits the spot for our Asian spice/heat preference!

Had a chance to dine at this quiet, authentic gem this week and simply can't get over it...! Besides extremely enjoying the traditional "laghman" beef noodles and sheesh kebab, the interior decor and delicate, floral cutlery took me right to the heart of Ürümqi in western China. Rayla was also a warm, hospitable host and I already can't wait to be back here again soon to try more dishes :)

Heerlijk eten en leuke sfeer! Zeer kost-efficiënt gegeten, grote porties tegen een lage prijs. Persoonlijk ben ik een grote eter. Dus mensen met een normale eetlust/maag zullen met €25 pp echt wel uitkomen.

I made a reservation to celebrate birthday there, but the owner told us: just come, let's see whether I can offer you some bonus or surprise. When we arrived there, the owner only showed up when we entered. After saying hi, she hid in the kitchen until we left. The waiter has no power to do anything for the celebration. When we told him we reserved the celebration in advance, he replied let's see the next year if you celebrate your birthday here.

Das Restaurant ist unscheinbar und hat nicht viele Gäste, davon die meisten aber Chinesen, was ein gutes Zeichen für ein chinesisches/uigurisches Restaurant ist. Die Einrichtung ist eher sparsam, es gibt Plastik-Tischdecken, die auch nicht 100% sauber sind. Alles macht einen billigen, etwas heruntergekommenen Eindruck. Auch die Gläser waren nicht 100% sauber. Das Essen war aber lecker. Die Portionen sind ausreichend, der Preis vielleicht etwas hoch, aber noch in Ordnung. Auch die Bedienung war in Ordnung. Wenn die Inneneinrichtung etwas verbessert werden würde, könnte man das Restaurant auch weiterempfehlen.
