De Nijl in Wijk 00 Assen centrum

I recently ordered food from here. The delivery driver was 45 minutes late. The food was lukewarm, the potato wedges were limp and lacked flavor. I'm not in danger of repeating this.

I called to pick up, and the price was 12.50 on their website and on Thuisbezorgd. Once there, I had to pay 13.50. The man behind the bar told me it was still the old price online. (That's what someone would say if they were trying to rip you off, and the price was still 12.50.) And of course, I asked for my euro back, just on principle.

Food was ok. Portions felt a bit oversized. Meat was slightly dry as it's probably had sat in hotwell for a while but considering that it is fairly inexpensive not a real issue. Service was quick and polite. Place felt dated but it was clean.

The Kapsalon dish is exactly the same as the special cheese shawarma... but otherwise, it's delicious 🤤😋. Got a free dessert, good baklava here. With candles, a cozy, romantic atmosphere! Friendly people, good service. They also have a cat, which we didn't see.

The food was excellent, I can't say otherwise. There was a misunderstanding, though: I asked a question about a meal, but it was immediately noted as an order. So while I was waiting to place my final order, the food was already being prepared. Unfortunately, not everyone speaks Dutch there. The lighting is distracting; it keeps flashing. Not for epileptics. Drinks have become more expensive again. I think it's a shame they have to make so much money on this. Normally, I would drink much more, and that way they could make the same profit, but now I try to drink as little as possible, and that's detrimental to my overall experience. The owner is very friendly, that's for sure. Otherwise, excellent, and the quantity is good too.

Ordered food from De Nijl for the first time in a long time, a shawarma dish and a lamb shawarma. The lamb was spongy as if it was paper thin minced meat instead of pieces of lamb, I didn't like it. The salad was dry with huge chunks of cucumber. The taste of the 'normal' shawarma was okay, but the meat was very coarse. The dishes were warm. Too bad not again for me.

Ate a giant shawarma here last week. Awesome! Meat tasted delicious with a tasty garlic sauce. Was already a good address 30 years ago and still is. We will definitely come back here again!!

Ordered 2 hair salons by phone yesterday for delivery. But what we got were not hair salons. At a hair salon, the fries and the shawarma or dõner are on top of each other in a rectangular dish. But we got 2 round dishes, and everything was next to each other. The meat of both dishes was also tough and dry, and was barely warm. And the salad with it was dirty, warm and yellowed. This was NOT the Nile we are used to. All 3 of us also got sick after eating. Restaurant de Nijl no longer sees us as customers for the time being.

Called the owner, first of all he doesn't let the customer finish talking on the phone, he always interrupts, even if you ask something, you get the answer, I want to deal with it as quickly as possible on the phone, otherwise you will disturb me with preparing orders, then I will get burnt food thanks to you. So disrespectful and customer unfriendly because if you don't treat your customers like that, the fast food chain will do even better.
