It's getting worse and worse, it's become really filthy there, the toilet looks like a pub toilet! Tables are sticky with grime everywhere, the floor is sticky, what must it be like in the kitchen! Often served cold too, it's about time a good, permanent manager came in here, you bunch!

Despite it being a fast-food restaurant and perhaps not expecting too much, we were not satisfied. The prices are way too high for the quality you get; you pay 12 euros for a few fries, a small burger, and a drink—no drink at all, because the drink was 75% filled with ice (see photo). The McFlurry is also now more expensive than 4 euros and nowadays consists of nothing more than a few scoops of ice cream. The tables were also dirty, every single one of them. You are better off driving a bit out of your way to the nearest snack bar; you get more value for your money there.

The fries weren't too salty, but really exceptionally salty.

McDonald's is always good, so this one is too.

Really nice staff, tasty food, your food arrives really fast, it looks nice. I have been to several McDonald's, but this one is the best.

My husband ordered a Quarter Pounder without cheese four times, and four times in a row it went wrong. Every time with cheese. The service has also deteriorated. Normally, you are supposed to get something for free if something goes wrong, but now you only get excuses. The staff don't seem very motivated. In the hour we were there, no tables were cleaned either. It didn't look very clean. I am hesitant to order anything here again.

3:45 PM, not a soul in sight. Still, I had to wait 5 minutes. Everything was abrupt and without a 'please'. Had a whole discussion with the girl at the first window who spoke poor Dutch. According to her, she always says 'please'. That is absolutely not true; it is short and sounds almost like commands. The atmosphere, respect, and politeness are really hard to find at this McDonald's. That is a shame; it is a real difference from the past, and I don't feel like having my food practically thrown at me without any politeness whatsoever. Bizarre how things work here.

The manager came over to speak to a couple of guys because they had a bag of KFC on the table... then the little guy very rudely says that he can go eat it at KFC, to which the boy replies that he was taking it home, then that guy whined some more and then he left and the boy had to stuff the bag into his jacket because it had no pockets. Extremely rude!

The manager was very aggressive and antisocial.

We sat in 2 places. The tables were quite sticky and even dirty.

Can take a very long time. It is often very busy there. Only go there if there is no other option.

Plenty of staff, all active. Burgers and coffee are fine. Place clean, including the toilets.

I went with my son yesterday. Ordering via the kiosk was easy. Picked out our food, paid, but it always turns out to be disappointing🫣, but the prospect of a Big Mac menu made up for it. We sat down at a table and our food was brought to us. 🥳. So much for the fun; I opened my container and found the Big Mac. The container already looked smaller than I remembered, but the burger was, of course, even smaller. My son had a hamburger and a chicken burger. Honestly, what a disappointment for me😔. My son is apparently already used to this. Fortunately, the taste was still just as I remembered it.😀 For both of us, we came to the conclusion that for the quantity, we'd be better off going somewhere else next time.🤔 But the food was just as tasty as I remembered, only the size and quantity were disappointing🙄

Very bad McDonald's. Ordering via the terminal and then waiting a long time for your order to be ready. Customers in the McDrive apparently take precedence over customers in the restaurant. Very unfortunate for this nice branch. There is potential, as well as a lack of oversight in the kitchen.

They really should put a bit more energy into keeping the place clean. Dirty tables, all the trash cans overflowing. Come on, you could do better....

McDonald's is a place you go to quickly for dinner, a quick snack, or a late-night treat. I mainly go there for the McFlurries and the breakfasts, both of which are very good, by the way.

Every time the same problem: frozen cheesecake. Not refrigerated, but literally still half frozen and hard. Very disappointing and totally not ready to eat.

May 2026, early evening. Smart choice to be located so close to the competitor as a neighbor. The fast food neighbor doesn't have coffee. So I went to this McDonald's specifically for that reason!

Assen is my hometown, so nothing can go wrong. Ate some tasty burgers there, still good.

Always super good service, the manager always addresses me politely, often a quick chat and super friendly! Love coming here for a cup of coffee!

I really barely get any sauce on my flurry at this McDonald's.

Things often go wrong. This time, they completely forgot to deliver the milkshakes first. Then without ice. Next time, just drive on to Assen-Zuid.

The coffee is disgusting, and when you talk to the staff, they pretend they don't notice.

Way too expensive for a few burgers

Waited 30 minutes for 1 small order. Received my takeout food cold. They didn't call out my number and the TV said the whole time that they were still preparing. Never coming here again. They didn't even ask if they could heat it up. Only found out it was cold after I had already left.

McDonald's Assen Fast food restaurant near the A28. I enjoy coming to this McDonald's because the atmosphere here is pleasant and the service is generally always good. Everything runs smoothly and you are helped in a friendly manner, which really makes a difference. Roan is an incredibly friendly and professional manager. He is always polite, helpful, and takes the time to assist customers in a proper way. You can really tell that he takes his work seriously and places great value on good service. Thanks to his calm and respectful attitude, you feel welcome and well assisted as a customer. Roan leaves a truly positive impression and is a great asset to this branch. Additionally, I have had a very pleasant experience with Micha. He is happy to help me with the selection and the preparation of the food. All in all, I have had a pleasant experience with the service Micha provides. I will gladly keep coming back.

Last night, I stopped by here with the girls from the volleyball team to celebrate the victory. My visit to McDonald's was truly terrible! I've never experienced anything like this before! Here is a summary: - there was a lot of trash (food scraps, packaging materials, etc.) on the floor and on the empty tables inside the restaurant - a trash can was emptied next to us. It took a very long time, and afterwards, the floor was a filthy mess that wasn't cleaned - the wait time was very long - orders were not brought in full. We had to go get the missing items ourselves, and that took a very long time again - the order was delivered in a paper bag and not on a tray - ketchup was more next to the burger than on it - there was a pile of rubbish next to the trash can outside - staff were incompetent

I had gotten takeout. I quickly went to the bathroom because I'd been on my moped for an hour. When I saw the bathroom, I saw things I shouldn't mention here, but numbers 1 and 2 were both on the floor, which is what people are supposed to do in the bathroom. The end result was mold on my food.

We were craving a cup of coffee and something sweet on Saturday. Even though the restaurant wasn't very busy, finding a random clean table or one from which the sauce residue hasn't been properly removed is a challenge. But when we saw a young woman wiping tables with a dry cloth from table to table, we understood. Give these young people a quick explanation and a bit of hygiene and cleanliness.

I'm sitting here eating now and they didn't give me a straw, no wipes, and a nugget, my burger was burnt and my chicken nuggets came in a random bag.

Quick stop at McDonald's after a long day at the UMCG. Placed a large order. Received two cold Big Tastys, and a cheeseburger was missing, which I discovered on the way. Both of us had severe stomach cramps last night and spent the whole evening on the toilet. It was a one-time visit for us. The staff was grumpy.

The table had a dirty bench, which was thoroughly cleaned after asking if a cloth was available. Unfortunately, the strawberry milkshake was gone. This was resolved very promptly. Great service!!

There's always something missing, the food is usually not warm or overcooked. Too much salt or none at all. There's always something wrong. But hey, those kids want it anyway. The management has improved recently. The McDrive food is still terrible, but they're very nice now.

They couldn't get the order right, and it took ages to prepare it. People received the wrong orders, and there were many dissatisfied customers. If I were you, I'd look for a different location.

During my visit to McDonald's, I ordered a large Coke. The drink was served promptly and efficiently, but the overall experience was mediocre. The temperature was good and the drink was sufficiently carbonated, but the flavor balance between syrup and sparkling water seemed slightly off. As a result, the Coke lacked the characteristic freshness and full flavor normally associated with McDonald's Coke. While the product certainly wasn't bad, it lacked the consistency and quality I'm typically accustomed to. A little calibration of the drink dispenser would likely improve the taste experience. Conclusion: An acceptable, but unremarkable Coke. There's room for improvement in the balance and flavor intensity.

Exactly what you'd expect from a McDonald's. Excellent. Didn't get sick, so that's definitely a plus :)

Well, you don't come here for healthy food 😄 Otherwise, it's a great location, fast service, and good food. The mayo and ketchup are way overpriced, as is everything else, but that's less of a problem than charging so much for a service item like sauces. It's good that the Happy Meal now also has apple or carrot. And a smoothie. But the kids have always been happier here than I have 😄

No extras, just a Mac like everywhere else

35 ice creams were given to the Dutch under-13 athletics champions. Thank you for the great discount, McDonalds.

When you order food here, you always have to check everything. If you order without onions and mustard, you'll get them half the time. We always check for mustard and onions anyway. But today it was perfect. We ordered a Big Tasty, and there was a McChicken in the Big Tasty box. We hadn't expected to get the wrong, cheaper burger. I could have paid less for that.

For a McDonald's, it's a perfectly good restaurant. Parking can be a bit tricky at times because it can get quite busy and there are few open spaces. The floor and tables could be cleaned a bit more frequently. The food is excellent, we've never had any mistakes with orders, and the service is quite fast, although some employees could use a bit more of a smile. Overall, it's pretty good, and we'll definitely be back.

Great food what you can expect at the MC

I first had to wait six minutes to be helped at the terminal. Then, when I wanted to scan a code, I had to go to the first window. When I got there, they were already working on a wire, and I had to wait another six minutes. Then I got my food. I had six chicken nuggets; it looked like they'd been there all day. They weren't tasty. I arrived at 12:30. All in all, it's a bad McDonald's. Do something about it. How hard can it be? This is my opinion of the McDonald's in Assen.

The food is expensive, way too salty, and I always regret it after a visit. Despite that, I keep coming back because I don't have the ability to learn from my mistakes. It's very nice of their staff to clear the roadside because there are so many customers with no manners.

Good help with promotional offers

Eating here is a real treat for children and teenagers. My father always used to say "food shed," which, of course, has some truth to it. It's also a convenient spot if you just want a quick bite, right off the highway. If you don't have too high expectations, it's highly recommended!

Often when I go to other McDonald's locations, I order a honey mustard chicken salad and extra chicken tenders. The extra chicken tenders never actually arrive at any McDonald's. Today, for the first time, I received my extra tenders in one go! Therefore, 5 stars for McDonald's Assen.

The food was great and reasonably fast. The staff, however, were difficult to talk to. I couldn't ask a question because they didn't speak Dutch or English. Finally, after trying a few times and being ignored, I left.

We waited 15 minutes for our order, it was barely warm. They also said we didn't wait long. We are very disappointed.

I just received very unfriendly service. Next time, please, if someone doesn't speak Dutch or English, don't let them help customers.

Here you get more value for your money when you buy a burger than at Grand Cafe Goud in Assen

The restaurant was clean and although it was full with guests, the food was served quickly. The meal was complete, nothing was missing. The burgers tasted good and looked good too. In Germany the burgers are just carelessly thrown together. No comparison with the bad Branches in Germany.

I ordered food today on July 28th. When I got home, I couldn't even get the Big Mac out of the container properly. It was very poorly assembled and had an overabundance of sauce on it. The fries had already been fried once, and the chicken nuggets were tough. It's a real shame considering you paid almost €40 and could throw half away because it wasn't fresh. The fries were overcooked and tough.

Went through the MC drive-thru. It was busy, but after a short wait, we got our turn. Everyone was friendly. The food was good, the meat tender.

Much better than before! Still a few flies, but a good place for a quick bite.

McFluori mms is already 4.10! And I got less in my cup, which is made of cardboard or something, anyway. You also have to pay a 15-cent plastic tax here for plastic, which is a sad affair.

What a fantastic McDonalds! Many branches in the Netherlands are not clean and the service is bad. But at this yellow M they really created something. Many thanks to McDonald's Assen! Terrace tables were dirty, trash cans were dirty outside too. Food wasn't very warm. Looked a bit abandoned/forgotten.

Never been to a cleaner mcdonalds. The place looked beautiful, the people looked beautiful and the 'food' looked beautiful. Wave after wave of zombie onslaught were only defeated by the throwing of our French fries. My daughter had to throw her chicken burger, which she'd only taken two bites of, and I had to sacrifice my chocolate milkshake which I tend to have instead of a cola. I like how long it takes to drink. Like bubble tea, have you tried that? Mcdonalds don't sell it and it is overpriced, but you can spend a good few minutes tracking down the bubbles . Don't suck them too hard though, like breath them in, because this one time I did and one of the bubbles almost went into my lungs. Into my lungs mind! Can you imagine? Anyway I didn't and that turned out to be a fairly nice day, despite the almost choking on bubbles. Peach flavour. Scary stuff.

Food better than some other McDonalds

We had coffee for 6 people. Bad coffee also reported new one received. This new coffee machine also appears to be not good. Had a conversation with the final leader who told us you don't have to drink coffee here!!!!!. If they treat all customers like this, there won't be much left
