Pyramide Grillroom in Wijk 00 Assen centrum

In terms of atmosphere, this is one of the most unwelcoming McDonald's I have ever seen. Everything is clean and tidy, the staff are smartly dressed, all fine. But the layout and the overall look of this building are just not top-notch. It also didn't help that 4 or 5 employees were standing against the counter, a wall, and the serving desk. One had his arms on his hips, the rest stood with their arms crossed, waiting for... something. Another (manager?) also came over for a quick chat (in English) and apparently just wanted to mess around with them. After a few games of rock-paper-scissors between them, our order was ready, and the employee had to do something else. I visit McDonald's a few times a year, but I had never experienced anything like this before. Not very professional. And to say there was nothing to do... there were plenty of customers walking around the building, and the Drive-Thru was reasonably busy too. We were here around 5:30 PM; maybe that is a quiet time for them... no idea. But it's easy to score points if something is done about it, just to sharpen the staff up again.. And ask headquarters for a budget for some coziness in the building ;)

It was really expensive with very mediocre facilities. 50 euros for one night. I know everything is getting more expensive, but the facilities were so meager.

A man is filming people in the establishment without their permission. Guests are furious and do not want to be filmed. They have asked the staff not to film without permission. The staff is ignoring this.

The food was delicious. Always great! Super!

Delicious fresh food! The chicken curry is especially great! Especially with the large shell-shaped prawn crackers. Takeaway, though, didn't eat in the restaurant.
