Reserved online, and upon arrival, the place was closed, indicated by a handwritten A4 sign: "Closed due to busy summer period." According to Google's opening hours, they were simply open, and there was no notification about this on the website either. Too bad; we were standing at the door with 2 kids who had their hearts set on pancakes. We weren't the only ones; as we walked towards the car, we encountered more people who thought they could eat a pancake.

Dear Pannenkoekenvallei Team, Your restaurant comes highly recommended. Although we arrived quite late on September 18th, we were served very kindly and attentively by a lovely young lady. We were pleasantly surprised by how quickly our pancakes arrived. We would even give them 6 stars for taste! We've been there several times now, and the pancakes have always been delicious. The staff has been very friendly lately. Communication is no problem (English; I only speak a little Dutch). I like the decor, even though some (admittedly difficult-to-access) areas were a bit crowded.

An absolute disaster. The service is abysmal; the waiters prefer chatting to attending to guests. Simple requests regarding food intolerances are ignored, and even when asked, they lie. Do not go there under any circumstances.

There were four of us there today. The food was delicious! The location is quite nice too. However, the service was incredibly slow. We sat outside and had to wait forever because the servers barely came out. It wasn't very busy, and much better and faster service would have been possible. We arrived, we had made a reservation, and we were given the menu. After looking through the menu, we put it aside and then waited 20 minutes for service that just wouldn't come. We also raised our hands several times, but no one came. After half an hour, we left. There was only one waiter, but this was really bad. The person was standing at the bar doing nothing, staring ahead. Normally I find the food here very tasty, and the atmosphere is always nice, but when no service shows up, it quickly becomes a bad thing.

We were shown to our reserved table, our drink orders were taken, but they never arrived! Other tables that arrived later had their drinks brought immediately… when we asked, we were told it was a problem with the receipt machine 🤔… Oh well, the food was okay. We'll try again next year. The staff seemed overwhelmed.

We pre-booked a table online, which worked well, and it was ready for us (8 people). The menu was available via QR code in both German and English. Unfortunately, the staff wasn't very efficient. While they took our drink order quickly, ordering the food took a while, but we had time. The food delivery also took a very long time, as we had ordered an appetizer and our main course was the last thing on the menu. Consequently, we waited quite a while. The food was very tasty and something different. I'm not sure if I would go back. The staff could also be more attentive; they could have made more money that way.

We (4 people) found it quite pleasant to have a nice pancake here. No weird hassle with QR codes or anything like that, just personal contact.

The food, we had different kinds of pancakes, was great but the service was terrible. One waiter wore a shirt that said „fu**“ and dropped his tray with empty drinks on one of us. In general they were very unfriendly, ran away multiple times while taking our order and the bill took forever until we eventually went inside to pay. Cannot recommend unfortunately.

We made a reservation properly. Subsequently, we were spoken to quite rudely and not very friendly. After that, you receive a menu that is falling apart after waiting 20 minutes, and then no one comes by to take an order. The staff walk around in their own clothes and hand everything out without a tray, just by hand. Very unprofessional. We left for Flow and unfortunately were unable to place an order. In hindsight, it's probably for the best.

Despite some negative reviews in recent weeks, we decided to try the restaurant. The service was friendly and quick. Before ordering, we were informed that it would take a little longer because the chef needed a 15-minute break due to the high temperatures. Nevertheless, our food arrived after 30 minutes. We simply had a nice meal there, nothing more, nothing less. The waiting times were okay considering how busy it was. The service seems understaffed; this manifested itself in a very rushed waiter who was difficult to approach. Note: the info here on Google states that they are open on Mondays, but we found ourselves facing a closed door then; we were able to get a table on Thursday.

Okay food, service can be slow. We went twice, first time was better than the first.

We were there today (August 8, 2026) in the early afternoon and were very disappointed and somewhat confused: 1. We wanted to sit inside, but were told that they only serve outside, even though several tables inside were occupied. 2. We ordered large Cokes and Fantas, but apparently only small glasses are available at the moment, and instead of Coke/Pepsi, we were served what seemed to be syrup mixed with water. And we were supposed to pay almost €6 for one glass of this cheap swill! 3. I ordered a schnitzel. After a while, an employee came and spoke in very poor English, saying that something was wrong with the chicken and that's why they couldn't offer any meat. He said the exact same thing again when I changed my order to a pancake called "churros." What do steak/schnitzel and chicken have to do with churros? 4. The men's restroom was missing door handles, and all the soap dispensers and soaps were empty. 5. All the decorations that used to make the building so cozy were gone; only their outlines remained. 6. Apparently, there had recently been a change of ownership, and the new owners didn't seem to really know how to run a restaurant like this. 7. My companion ordered a pancake with ham. It seems the cook simply placed a slice of ham in the middle and poured the pancake batter around it. There was no batter underneath the ham. The same thing happened with my daughter's pancake with apple pieces. So, minimal ingredients were used. None of us were satisfied; we would have had to eat at least three pancakes to feel full. And then, depending on the ingredients, each pancake costs around €15. 8. You can't pay at the table. You have to go inside and list all the food and drinks ordered from your table because the tables aren't numbered. Try remembering all the food and drinks for six people! Conclusion: We were here for the 5th or 6th time today, but this will definitely be the last time. I absolutely cannot recommend it. If it's just minor things like the lack of soap or language barriers, that's not worth mentioning, but advertising brand-name drinks for almost €6 and then delivering the cheapest syrupy concoction, or not being able to prepare any of the food, etc., that's unacceptable!

Luckily, we had reserved a table (at 4:30 pm), otherwise we probably wouldn't have gotten in. It wasn't necessarily a lack of available tables, but rather a shortage of staff. This was also evident in the wait for the food – over 40 minutes. The food itself was tasty, though the pancakes weren't huge portions.

I ate pancakes; they weren't bad, but certainly not very tasty either. I wouldn't go there again.

Really unfriendly to guests. You arrive, the waitress shows you to your table, very friendly, and so far everything is fine. After about 10 minutes, another colleague comes and says we won't be getting any more food, even though it was only 3 pm and we wouldn't be able to get anything for at least another 1 to 1.5 hours. The place wasn't even half full, and we were more or less forced to leave. I unfortunately can't agree with the positive reviews at all and am extremely disappointed and angry with this place. I definitely cannot recommend this restaurant, except for the soap in the restroom, which really does smell very nice, hence the one star!!!

No interest in customers? Our children were really looking forward to pancakes. Based on the good reviews, we went to De Pannenkoekenvallei yesterday. Unfortunately, the visit was disappointing. First, the server took a very long time to appear. Then, when she finally deigned to come, she informed us that she couldn't take our order for another half hour. We got the hint and left the pancake house empty-handed. Therefore, we can't comment on the food or the atmosphere. The service that day, however, was unfortunately terrible.

We were shown to a table with the explanation that it would take half an hour before we could order. That was fine with us, but unfortunately, from that point on, we were ignored. Later arrivals, who seemed to be locals, were given priority. So, after waiting in vain for almost an hour, we left. What a shame…

We reserved a table for four people at 3 pm. Upon arrival, we were greeted very rudely. We were then allowed to choose a table on the terrace, but almost all of them were still covered with old dishes. We ordered drinks, which arrived after 30 minutes. We had already asked twice because we wanted to order something to eat. After the drinks arrived, we were told that unfortunately, there was no food available due to a high rate of staff illness. The staff behaved terribly the entire time, and other families were treated the same way. We then left. Not recommended!

Unfortunately, we had to wait a very long time for our food. After 1.5 hours, two of our main courses hadn't been checked in. The dish I ordered was already sold out. As a gesture of goodwill, we received three free drinks. After repeatedly asking if a discount was possible after such a disappointing evening, we received another free drink.

If you search for gluten-free pancakes, you end up on this company's website. So you drive there from your holiday destination, because low-gluten is fine for this eater too. You order a drink and a little later the pancakes, only to find out that gluten-free or low-gluten is unfortunately not possible! Sold out! You advertise it, and then it's sold out. The person received salad with fries; she had been looking forward to a tasty pancake!

Delicious pancakes. Huge selection. We had ham and cheese, classic pancakes, and poffertjes for the kids. A great place to stop after a windy bike ride. Playground available. We'd gladly come again.

The food tasted perfectly fine. The staff was friendly, too. Unfortunately, we weren't informed beforehand that an ingredient was missing. When I complained, they offered me a different dish, but that wasn't why I was there. The prices and quality aren't really in line with German standards, but apparently that's the norm for this region of the Netherlands. The presentation wasn't great either. We only received a one-euro discount on the bill. Overall, we were full, but it wasn't exactly a culinary experience.

We sat here for lunch this afternoon. The menus are falling apart from sheer misery and are taped together with masking tape. The food itself was fine, but when we went to pay and I looked into the kitchen, I felt nauseous. It was filthy. The "cooks" walk through the kitchen in old sweatpants and sneakers; the one with long hair isn't wearing a hairnet. I saw all kinds of garnishes standing out in the open in containers, neither refrigerated nor covered; the kitchen ceiling is full of grease and mold. The garnishes for the desserts are sitting right underneath in small containers. The floor didn't exactly look fresh either, and I think you would too. The bread we had with our lunch was lying in plain sight, uncovered, and was sliced ​​on a blue fish cutting board. I don't think anyone pays attention to hygiene in this kitchen, let alone the part of the kitchen you can't see. A nice gentleman who handled our bill asked if it was tasty; I said yes, it was tasty, but now that I've seen the kitchen, I certainly won't be coming back. The kitchen is taking no responsibility. UPDATE! YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AFTER RETURNING HOME, MY GIRLFRIEND BECAME VERY SICK. WE BOTH ATE THE SAME THING: CROQUETTES ON BREAD. LATER IN THE EVENING, I ALSO BECAME SICK MYSELF FROM THIS DISGUSTING KITCHEN. WE HAVE FILED A REPORT WITH MELD.NL AND ARE GOING TO CONTACT THE FOOD AND COMMERCE LAW COMPANY TODAY.

Hardworking people and delicious food!

The order was written down incorrectly and then, of course, the wrong thing was delivered. When I said it wasn't what I ordered, the waiter just said, "But I wrote it down." No apology, no correction of the food, nothing. The pancakes took forever and were ALL burnt. When we pointed this out, they just said, "Yeah, that's annoying." No refund or any kind of compensation. Terrible!! The pancakes didn't taste good at all. Some were inedible. Besides being burnt, they were also soaked in grease. Never again!!! Absolutely not recommended! And then we paid over €60 for it.

Yesterday we found the doors closed, but today they were open, and we gladly took advantage of that. We were served delicious pancakes here. The selection of toppings is huge, but we deliberately kept it simple. Despite the crowds, the wait times were reasonable, and they're very family-friendly. There's also a playground next door. The restaurant is well-located and its rustic ambiance is inviting. Parking is readily available. The large terrace with its shady spots under parasols is particularly pleasant. Dogs are welcome both indoors and outdoors, which we appreciated. The restrooms are modern and thoughtfully designed – there's even a well-equipped playroom for children. Unfortunately, the service seemed overwhelmed and at times quite unfriendly. While we were seated immediately, we had to wait a good 25 minutes for service. When new guests arrived after us but were served before us, we asked the server to bring us the menu. Unfortunately, this service pattern continued throughout our visit. We had to repeatedly ask the server to cancel orders and get our espressos. Only later did they explain that due to staff shortages, they couldn't currently fill all the tables. This is understandable, of course, but earlier and more friendly communication would have made the situation much more pleasant. It's a shame, because the place really has a lot of potential and we have very fond memories of it. We hope the service quality improves again, because we would love to come back.

The website states it is open until 8:00 PM, and there is also an open sign by the road. We arrived at 6:45 PM to eat, but we were turned away with the message that no food was being prepared anymore. Bad business; adjust the times accordingly and remove that sign from the road. We will not be coming back here.

This is supposed to be a pancake house! The food was terrible. The pancakes were burnt, the cheese was poured on top, and they smothered it in garlic sauce from a squeeze bottle. I ordered a side salad, but what did I get? Wild herbs, barely dressed. Never again! Not recommended.

We have eaten here very often and enjoyed it over the last few years. But tonight was truly terrible. Waiting, waiting, and waiting some more. Then, when you finally get your food, half of the menu is missing. Asked how this was possible, but received no answer. After the meal, we waited for the dessert menu. We ended up getting it ourselves. The waiter said "in 1 second I'll be with you," but eventually, it took 20 minutes. The grandchildren really wanted strawberry ice cream. After fifteen minutes, they came to tell us that it was sold out. What a waste of such a beautiful restaurant. We won't be coming back. We heard "sorry" at least 10 times, but nothing was done about it.

We ate delicious pancakes here with our youngest daughter and our dog. In addition to pancakes that were outstandingly tasty, we also ordered the kids' menu. That was fine too. Now if they would just bake fresh poffertjes themselves, it would be absolutely amazing and five stars would be secured.

Highly recommended! The pancakes are simply unbeatable, absolutely fantastic. The prices are reasonable and there wasn't a long wait. Unfortunately, we didn't have our phones with us, otherwise we would have taken photos because the pancakes were also visually appealing and served on preheated plates. We'll definitely be back! We came by car; parking was actually good. We waited 5-10 minutes for the DRINKS!! We waited 50-60 MINUTES for the pancakes!!! We finally paid after 60 minutes and left at 7:00 PM! We went there for dinner after our day trip to Texel on Pentecost Sunday. We were looking forward to eating a tasty pancake, so we decided to choose that restaurant. We arrived and it seemed quite nice, but the worst was yet to come. We wanted to order, but the waiter simply ignored us. We called out, but they didn't even look up. They only came after fifteen minutes; even the people next to our table had to join in the shouting. Then, regarding the food: it looked delicious on the menu—no pictures, just text. We had ordered, and the drinks arrived after 5-10 minutes. But as for the food... we waited 30 minutes first, thinking it would eventually come, but no. After 40 minutes, the waiter came to us and asked if it was correct that we had ordered. We said yes, and he put down the cutlery. We asked how much longer it would take, and he said it would be right over. After 20 minutes we STILL hadn't got anything, so we decided to pay for the drinks. They did offer to give us half price, but we just left. The food was ready, but they just threw it away. Bad service, not recommended, poor staff. We just went to McDonald's instead, EVEN BETTER.

We tried to eat with group five tonight after making a reservation. Service took a long time. The wait staff was small and they had no time for service. After ordering, and after waiting an hour and a half for the main course, the chef came to inform us that they had run out of food and that the main course would not be coming. This was really poorly organized.

Arrived at 17:30 with 9 people, and at 19:30 still waiting for the food :( Very nice with everyone together, but not worth the wait! We left at 19:30. We actually found out AFTER 2 HOURS that the food we had ordered was no longer there. It is funny that people are still coming in to eat after 19:00 while the kitchen closes at 20:00! And we have already been waiting for an hour and a half. Very poorly organized. Not recommended.
