Unfortunately, our experience wasn't good. My food was delicious, but the order was wrong, and we had to wait a long time. Empty plates and glasses after consumption were noticed very late. I hope things will be better in the future.

We went to dinner with the family this afternoon. We ordered spare ribs. They were served lukewarm and quickly. That means they had been reheated. Such a shame. The speculaas coffee was delicious! There was only one waitress, Anique. She was a nice girl and very good with the kids. Unfortunately, there was someone from the kitchen, a boy with glasses, a bit bald, who felt the need to constantly criticize her in front of the customers. The boy had something to complain about everyone. There were too few staff for the crowd today. The children's play area is nice, but it could use a wipe down. The restrooms were clean.

Had a delicious lunch with pancakes and orange juice. Friendly welcome and great service!

We spontaneously visited in November 2025 around 2 pm on the recommendation of our vacation rental host, without a reservation. The service was friendly and pleasant, the pancakes (and other creations too!) were delicious, the burgers were tasty, and the coffee was excellent. The atmosphere is lovely. Our dog was also welcome. See you soon! 👍🏻

Pancake Valley is a must! The most delicious pancake I've ever had in my life. The very friendly waitress, Lianda, gives her complete attention and love. A beautifully varied menu, created by a wonderful chef. A beautiful establishment in a beautiful setting. The loving owner, Sjon. You can taste the Spirit of God in everything.

My son and I are having a wonderful meal here right now. The food was incredibly delicious, the service and atmosphere were perfect, my son and I said so too. We will definitely come back again.

A pancake costs an average of €14.95. Three scoops of ice cream in a sundae cost €10.95. In total, we paid €87.00 for five drinks, one appetizer, three savory pancakes, and two desserts. The quality was mediocre, nothing special. We expected a pancake house to be more culinary. You can easily make tastier and, above all, higher-quality pancakes at home. The food wasn't visually appealing enough to be photographed. The service was also mediocre; the first drinks weren't served until almost 30 minutes later. A shame.

We’ve visited De Pannekoeken Vallei in Den Helder several times over the past years, and it has never disappointed us. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. In the summer you can sit outside on the patio, which is lovely, but now in fall it’s especially cozy and pleasantly warm inside. The staff are always friendly and attentive, creating a relaxed and welcoming experience. This time, we ordered the Angus beef burger and the “Frans” pancake and both were excellent. The burger was juicy and well-seasoned and the pancake was light, generous and full of flavor. We also had poffertjes, which were perfectly fluffy and just sweet enough. Truly delicious! Overall, we are very happy every time we come here and look forward to returning again on our next visit. Highly recommended!

A bit of a quiet evening but it was great!

Delicious meal! Oriental salad with chicken. It was delicious, just a bit too much 🤪 What I didn't finish was taken away in a container 👌👍 My wife had gluten-free pancakes, and she devoured everything ☺️ The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff was very friendly. And it's in a beautiful location. You don't need more, do you? And as you can see in the last photo, I happily ate the rest at home 👌

A very nice atmosphere in a large wooden house. The service was very friendly and always courteous, even when the crowds were quite busy and the atmosphere was very busy. The pancake selection is fantastic, with something for everyone. The food was delicious, and we would definitely come back!

What a mess. I can't comment on the food, but I can on the service. It's completely lacking. We had a reservation for six people. We were led to a table that was set for five, with five chairs. We grabbed a chair ourselves, which was no problem, of course. We made our choice, and then the waiting, and the waiting, and the waiting... The waitress was very busy, in her own way, but we didn't see her again. After 35 minutes of observing the disorganized mess, we left... We didn't order anything, saw or heard from anyone again...

The food is delicious, but the service is so excruciatingly slow that we had to wait for everything. Drinks took ages, and if you ask for a glass of orange juice, it comes from a carton. We skipped dessert because it took so excruciatingly long, even though it wasn't even busy.

We spent a lovely evening at the restaurant. 6 adults, 1 child, and 3 dogs. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. The dog was given water and a treat without asking. For children, there's a playroom and a coin for a slot machine. There's nothing to complain about, and we highly recommend the restaurant. We'd be happy to come back.

Let me start by saying that the pancakes were excellent and the young woman serving was very friendly. Otherwise, it was very disappointing. We waited a really long time for our food (people who came in and ordered later got theirs first, and less than half the tables were occupied, the terrace almost empty). We had to ask the waiter several times for our drinks. The older woman serving and the bartender were both clearly stressed and snapped at their staff several times. When we left, the cook (with rancidly stained clothes) even followed her into the restaurant to complain about a note on the door, and she snapped back very harshly. Oh yeah, and the beautiful plastic tree in the restaurant really needs dusting. All in all, not a pleasant evening, and we won't be back.

A really nice place for the whole family! The pancake selection is huge, and everything we tried was delicious. The service is friendly and attentive. The playground makes the visit especially fun for children. A cozy place where you can enjoy delicious food and have a great time.

The Pannenkoekenvallei offers a wide selection of pancakes – both sweet and savory, with and without meat. One small downside: The only unusual vegetarian dish advertised was unfortunately no longer available and will likely be removed from the menu. Finding alternatives wasn't easy, as many dishes are prepared in one go and meat can't simply be omitted. After several attempts, however, a solution was finally found! The taste is absolutely convincing, the atmosphere is truly wonderful, and the terrace and the lovely indoor and outdoor play areas make the visit particularly enjoyable.

Great pancakes that would have been even more delicious with whipped cream instead of spray cream. The pancakes are really good, both sweet and savory.

After dinner, I asked for drinks myself... I didn't even ask for dessert. The service is appalling.

A truly cozy pancake house with very friendly and attentive service and super delicious pancakes in many different variations. It was our second visit to a pancake house on this vacation. We arrived about an hour before closing time, got a table right away for five people, and received very friendly, unhurried service. All our special requests were accommodated, and it didn't take long at all until the delicious pancakes were on the table for us to enjoy. Absolutely delicious! It was a lovely end to our vacation here in the Netherlands, and we highly recommend this pancake house. We really miss a place like this at home.

We sat outside in the beautiful weather. It was a bit rustic, but it was fine. The waitress advised us in perfect German. But of course, you should order a pancake there—the name says it all!

I went here for dinner with five people. I ordered my third beer, to which the waitress asked, "This is your third beer, who's driving?" What a ridiculous question, and it's not your place to decide how much I can drink. Again, there were five of us, so it makes sense I wouldn't drive home. The pancakes were also way too thick.

Where do I begin? First of all, the food here is really good, but we had to wait twice in a row for our order to even be taken. If you go here, I recommend keeping the whole afternoon free. Finally, while taking our order, they announced that part of the terrace would be closed. But then we didn't have to move? All this does is make your guests feel unwanted. And then, when we finally got our drinks after 45 minutes, they were practically smacked on the table—no "good afternoon," no "goodbye," nothing. All in all, we won't be going back.

The first time we didn't think much of it; mistakes can happen. But then it happened a second time. The food is good, if you manage to get any. Expect to wait at least 20 minutes for them to take your drink order. Even when you can literally see the waiters doing nothing or chatting amongst eachother. Today we waited 40 full minutes before someone came to ask us if we had already ordered drinks. We were told they were closing this section of the terrace, but didn't ask us to move? So if anything it just made us feel not welcome. To add insult to injury since they were the ones who made us wait till they wanted to close the section to take our drink order. We were also told that it would be another 45 minute wait for pancakes? The place was nowhere near full and all the tables we could see already had had their food so the wait seemed rediculous. In the end i opted out of eating and just wanted a drink, my bf ordered an omelette sandwich. The damn sandwich came faster than our cola's?! In fact my bf was 3/4 of the way through his sandwich by the time a clearly annoyed waitress finally decided to slam down our drinks without even saying hello nevermind any aplologies for the close to full hour of our day we wasted just waiting as the servers were doing nothing. Us locals will definetly not be coming back for a 3rd time and I can't recommend anyone who values their time or likes feeling welcome to come here.

Completely messed up. We walked into an empty restaurant at 4:30 PM on a Saturday. Drinks and appetizers came super quickly. But the pancakes didn't arrive until an hour later. Four tables with 15 other guests, all of whom had arrived after us, got their pancakes before us. What's up with that?

After our first drink, we waited over an hour. We then asked how long it would be before our food arrived. The server told us it would be another 20 minutes. When we said we'd go to another restaurant because our three children were already fed up with it, they said it could be brought within 10 minutes. She said it was the chef's fault. We ordered drinks from the server, but they didn't arrive either, and we had to chase them up again. After our meal, we weren't asked if we wanted dessert or another drink. We didn't bother asking again because this would probably take a long time as well. We were supposed to get one round of drinks on the house for the long wait, but when we paid, this also went wrong, and I had to tell them to deduct the drinks. The service is brisk, but far too few people. I blame the new chef, but I think the service needs to be restructured. The food itself was fine, but we won't be returning anytime soon.

The waiters were very nice. Unfortunately, the processes seem to be a bit off yet; ordering was only possible proactively, and even then, it was difficult to reach the staff. We waited two hours with three children for our food, and some of it was missing. As parents, this was a huge challenge. :) It would have been nice if they had been more transparent about why the food was taking so long to prepare, or if they had apologized for the delay.

A super fun and excellent pancake restaurant. The pancakes (even the gluten-free ones!) and other dishes are delicious, the service is very friendly and fast, there's a cozy atmosphere both inside and outside, and there's a nice play area for children. They've also thought of details for children, such as a small toilet and a stool for washing hands. Ignore the bad reviews; we think they're undeserved!

The service was good, but after we finished the appetizer, our empty plates were still sitting there for a long time. The wait was also very long. I knew that when I booked the table, and it was also stated on the website. I had a Mexican-style pancake and it was delicious. Everything was good, and I would go there again.

We visited here as part of our vacation and were immediately captivated by the ambiance – a beautifully converted old barn with a very cozy atmosphere. The service was extremely friendly, accommodating, and even spoke good German. We were seated immediately and served quickly, without long waits. The menus were a bit "tattered," which was noticeable in the otherwise very clean environment – but that's really nitpicking at a high level. There is free parking on-site. Children are well catered for: a dedicated menu and a playground. We had a schnitzel and the classic apple pancake – both delicious! We had to wait a little longer for dessert because there was a technical problem with the orders. This caused a bit of chaos, but it was resolved in a charming and personable manner. All in all, a very pleasant experience – 4 out of 5 stars from us.

The reservation worked perfectly, no wait time. The food wasn't as described on the menu, or wasn't available at all. The wrong drinks were brought, and if you complained, the waitress became very unfriendly.

We waited 20 minutes for our drink order to be taken. Even when we asked, the waiter didn't take our food order and simply told us we'd have to wait 30 minutes for the food. However, our food order hadn't been taken even after another 20 minutes. Frustrated, we paid for the drinks and went to a nearby snack bar. And the terrace was only half full. Service is different.

The food (we had pancakes) was delicious. The staff seemed a bit disorganized, but they were very friendly. Still, only 3 stars because the wait was too long, considering it really wasn't that busy.

Ate here this afternoon. The pancake was great! (That's why it's rated 2 stars.) I don't recommend the chicken club sandwich. First, I got a sandwich without the chicken. And then the bacon was missing. I also had a tomato allergy. But the replacement sandwich had tomato. I sent it back, and they removed the tomato but didn't replace it. Not great with an allergy. Also, the kitchen staff yelled in the restaurant area several times. And other staff reacted to this. It was a strange situation. The guests were at a loss. A very uncomfortable atmosphere.

We had to wait an hour and a half for our food due to understaffing. You can be unlucky, but the service was also terrible. They didn't even come by to ask if we wanted drinks. I ordered one sparkling water and got a pitifully small glass with ice cubes in it, which contained very little, and I was charged €3.25 for it. Ridiculous. We'll never come back here.

Good value for money. Purchasing is a bit behind sales, and there were some items that ran out, but the chef was able to easily replace them.

We were there as a family with three generations and the atmosphere was very comfortable! The service was very good and super friendly! The pancake selection is overwhelming and caters to every taste. There was even a flour alternative for those with gluten intolerance, and a selection for vegetarians too 🤩 We all needed a second pancake to feel full... which was a bit of a shame and significantly increased the bill. We'll be back 😉

Worst visit we've had this time. We had a reservation for several people inside. We were prepared for outside. We acted quickly and got something ready inside. Our first order arrived quickly. One time, a bit too much, and one time, the wrong thing was delivered. After that, no one came to us for an hour. The 200ml glass of cola was quickly empty. After an hour, we ordered another round of drinks and dessert. About 20 minutes later, an announcement was made in the restaurant that they apologized for the commotion and that everyone would receive a drink on the house. There was applause in the room. 20 minutes later, the drinks arrived. Another hour later, the dessert arrived. When we paid, we were charged FULL for the drinks, even though they were delivered AFTER the announcement and we hadn't ordered new ones. A 3-hour stay for 1 pancake for everyone and 4 desserts.

Very good pancakes, great selection, and varied. We would come back anytime. The drinks are a bit pricey, so it's a shame there's no drinks menu.

The food is great, the service is great, the location is fantastic, fun for little ones, both indoors and outdoors. Very affordable. Please note: opening hours are until 8 PM. Sometimes it's closed without any notice other than a note on the door saying "We are closed today." It would be nice if this was indicated on the website, Instagram, or Facebook. Nice ambiance, delicious food, and very friendly service. The menu is varied, including plenty of pancakes. A nice outdoor playground and plenty of parking. You can't eat outside in the evening, so arrive a little earlier if you'd like.

Beautiful location. Under new ownership for a while now. I haven't had the chance to eat or try anything there yet. It's also unclear when they're open these days. They were closed on nice days and on a summer Saturday with a festival next door. They were also closed for quite a while. The restaurant has now reopened for a few days. We'll see if it stays that way. We'll keep you updated.

Go to another restaurant and stay far away from this one. Once you know what goes on behind the scenes, you'll never want to eat here again.

DO NOT come to eat. The owner walks around the building with his mouth full and his phone in his hands, stains on his shirt. An older blonde woman also constantly texts around the building. You always have to wait an extremely long time, and even if you make a reservation, it's questionable whether you'll even be able to eat, as they often give away reserved tables. Besides, there's a lot of commotion going on behind the scenes.

We had a wonderful meal today. Lovely terrace, wide selection, and friendly service! A wonderful way to enjoy a summer evening.

We waited 20 minutes for a menu and a drink on a Thursday afternoon. After 45 minutes, we were surprised to see that no drinks had arrived. After a total of 55 minutes, we received a second reminder: no drinks, wrong dish. When the correct one arrived, everything was lukewarm at best. The atmosphere was excellent. We saw two waiters in total. Probably far too few for the size of the place during the summer holidays.

We literally waited over an hour and a half for four regular pancakes, which tasted mediocre. There weren't many customers in the restaurant, which was inexplicable to us. The whipped cream was from a tube, and the Nutella tasted cheap. The service was slow and unfriendly, and there was no paper in the restroom. The climbing frame is life-threatening because it's loosely embedded in the ground and not concreted. So if you want to wait forever with your children, who will eventually disturb everyone around you, and you don't really want to eat anything but want to spend a lot of money, this is the place for you.

This was our second time here, and we've arrived both by car and canoe. The various delicious pancake variations leave nothing to be desired. Delicious spare ribs or schnitzel with fries are also available. The drinks selection is also excellent, and the staff are very friendly, even with minor complaints...everything is really great. The outdoor playground and playroom are great for younger guests. It's nice to have a parking lot and a dock at the restaurant.

The food that they serve is of great quality they have something for everyone. They have a kids menu and things for people with allergies. The service is great and quick. The all around aesthetic is great with visually pleasing wooden tables and a inside and outside playground with enough things to do.

Very disappointing experience – drove twice for nothing We have now driven to the Pannenkoekenvallei twice, and both times we were faced with a closed door – while the website clearly stated that they would be open. Today we wanted to enjoy a pancake here with our family, in honor of our 8-year-old son obtaining his A-diploma. He had been looking forward to this enormously. Unfortunately, the shop was closed again, with only a note on the door: "Closed today." No message on the website or social media. A 30-minute drive (and therefore also back) for nothing, and a very sad boy on a day that should have been festive. If correct information had simply been shared, we could have prevented this. For us, this is the last time. Very unfortunate.

According to the website, it was open, but it was closed. 30km drive was free.
