De Patchka in Oude Pijp

Hidden Vegan gem. We, a family of 4, stumbled on this place last night. Food is delicious, plentiful and feels homemade. All made and served by one lovely lady. Hoping to visit again on our trip. My teen son said it’s one to keep for other visits to Amsterdam, and his restaurant praise is always given sparingly!

We discovered it by chance because we were going to the restaurant next door, but we saw a couple eating there and they highly recommended it. And it was a total success. One of the best Asian restaurants in Amsterdam. The place is small and it's just the owner serving and cooking. You might see her a bit overwhelmed, but it's worth the wait while she cooks. You can tell she cares about the flavor and preparation of the dishes. The menu isn't very extensive, but what they offer is varied and delicious. All the food is vegan 💚

Homemade Japanese-Korean vegan food, with a small menu but every dish is exquisite. Both desserts are also very tasty. The place is small and doesn't have a restroom, but there's a small table outside, very quiet and pleasant. The service is very fast and the prices are very reasonable, inexpensive. The best place I've been to in the city :)

So delicious, yajangmyeon like in Korea but vegan. Red bean dessert also super tasty.

Delicious spicy ramen for the third day in a row! It's the kind of hidden gem where you hesitate to share it because you don't want it to be overrun. But I would still 100% recommend everyone eat here. 🦩♥️

How soy can taste, unfortunately too much work for the home cook. Tastefully decorated mini-restaurant, fast and friendly service, had a delicious meal.

The food was very delicious. The place seemed semi-closed when I showed up but the lady let me in (I was about to pass out from hunger so I'm super grateful haha). She seems very hardworking.

Korean vegan heaven. We got the noodle jjapgetti and it was incredible! The restaurant has an authentic local vibe and everything was homemade by the lovely lady who served us. We had to go again before leaving Amsterdam and would definitely come back next time we are here. Thank you for the lovely meal :)

We had the Tempeh Japchae and Beefy Bulgogi and were absolutely thrilled. Dishes we won't soon forget. The food is cooked by a very nice lady who runs the place wonderfully. We ate there several times during our stay in Amsterdam. Yummerz!

Fantastic vegan Korean-Japanese food. I have ordered takeout here a few times now and the dishes do not disappoint. I highly recommend the jjajang noodles. The ‘beef’ pieces are very well seasoned and go very well with the noodles. We ordered the cheesy dakkalbi for the first time. It is slightly spicy and the vegan cheese is a good combination with the VG chicken and vegetables. The owner prepares the dishes with great care and we will definitely be back to try the rest as well.

Food is really great, but it is framed as „take away“ which means no toilet. The rest seems like a restaurant and the time pressure while ordering is real.

Clearly a labor of love of the charming woman who owns and operates the place, all on her own. I was so impressed I came back a second time during my short stay in the city. She offers a small selection of vegan versions of Japanese, Korean and Indonesian dishes, of which I had the Jjajang Noedel (noodles and soy beef in black bean sauce), and the Tempeh Japchae (sweet potato noodles and fermented soybeans). I enjoyed both - excellent textures and good complex flavors (though slightly too salty and monotonous). The portions were very satisfying. For side dishes there's miso soup which was simple and delicious, and kimchi, which I was slightly disappointed with (again, too salty for me, and not particularly interesting). For dessert, I had the tapioca-coconut soup with matcha, a wonderful flavor combination. Bear in mind that service is basic - you order at the counter and the food is served to you at the table. Other than that, there's no WC or even a sink to wash your hands, which is a bit of a bummer. All in all, the food and atmosphere are great, and I was really impressed with what a great experience this was, particularly for such a low price. Can't wait to come again!

Very nice place with lots of delicious Korean dishes! It is a quite small place that describes itself as "basically a takeaway shop", so it doesn't have a restroom. Still it is quite comfortable to sit there, and the food is very tasty! They also have some interesting soda drinks to choose.

We had a fantastic meal from De Patchka! The owner also takes the orders and cooks the food herself but she was still very friendly and the service was quick! We had the jjajangmyeon, avocado bibimbap and homemade kimchi and all were delicious! Great portions and great value for money, would definitely recommend to anyone visiting :)

I honestly loved this place. I’ve never been here before but I’ll definitely visit again when visiting Amsterdam. The food was so tasty and we didn’t have to wait long.

The food tasted chemical, the taste lingered for a while after finishing eating, wondering what caused it? Otherwise the vibe is great!

I stumbled upon this place by chance and came to eat with my girlfriend. We were both impressed by the food. It was delicious and very reasonably priced. The small restaurant is also very cozy. It's very welcoming and the food is excellent. I would recommend it to everyone. The meat alternatives were very well prepared and I really enjoyed them.

Came in at 19:30 and a very kind old lady who worked alone in the kitchen/counter and she was so cutee omg. I hope a lot people visite her because i dont have the feeling :( 5/5 Stars absolutely!!!!

Nice vegan Korean food restaurant in de Pijp. Quick service and the food was good. We ordered the vegan beef noodles, which were really yum and miso soup that was mild in taste. They have interesting dessert options.

Absolutely loved this place! Even though they were clearly short-staffed, everything was super fast and incredibly well organized. The food was extremely delicious – real comfort food with soul, and I really appreciated the full vegan menu. The modern self-service concept is cool, relaxed, and fits perfectly with the overall vibe. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. All of this at a very reasonable price – amazing value for money. I would 100% come back every time I’m in Amsterdam!

It's a vegan restaurant! It's delicious!! The owner was worried it wouldn't suit Korean palates, but my parents enjoyed it too. It might not be for those who like spicy food, but the bibimbap is basically delicious, and the japchae bap is literally Korean japchae bap! The portions are generous!

Simply perfect. I found it online and went alone. Calm and very welcoming atmosphere. Fantastic lady, very friendly, quick service and a top-notch cook! I loved the food and the jasmine tea. Very good and inexpensive! I'll be back.

The japchae was one of the most delicious meals I've ever had. The restaurant itself had a few tables to sit at, but no bathroom as they stated on a sign they're basically a take out with seating. Fast service, satisfying vegan food and a cozy spot to grab dinner at.

Our favourite restaurant in Amsterdam, we went there so many times unfortunately we don‘t live here anymore. Size of portions are perfect and also the price! The dishes are flavorful and spicy sauce is amazing. Sometimes we had nice talks with the owner but mostly she is busy because she is on her own. Next time we are in Amsterdam this restaurant is our No.1 destination🌻

A great find for very tasty and good value vegan Korean and Japanese dishes. I had the Bibimhapje and really enjoyed the selection of vegetables, protein and rich gojujang sauce. Just beware there are no toilets or tap water available here, as it's quite a small shop with a take-away focus. Incredible that the owner seemed to manage all by herself - she was on a mission to deliver good food!

Stopped by for an early dinner and the food was incredible, although I found the tapioca matcha desert way too sweet. Just a few notes. They’re extremely understaffed, so it’s best to make a reservation or come early and expect waiting a bit. Also, they don’t provide tap water nor have bathrooms. But I’d definitely return to try more dishes:)

We arrived 30 minutes before closing but the owner was so kind and made us some of the tastiest Korean food we have ever eaten. The miso soup with the meal was also delicious. I liked that each dish had protein, carbs and vegetables. Very balanced, healthy and tasty.

We visited De Patchka on the recommendations of a friend, and were absolutely amazed by the food! The vegan menu offers a varied choice of different asian dishes, and for those options that include vega meat-substitutes, the cook managed to perfectly imitate real beef in taste and feel, which I've never seen anybody do before. The location is cute but also roomy and has some beautiful art pieces on display. I can absolutely recommend this place to everybody!! we paid 13€ each for our dishes.

OK, WOW, that was one of the best meals I've had in a long time – all vegan, super fair prices (main courses 12.90, Coke 2.50), and every bite was truly amazing. Wow! The jjajang noodel was world-class, and the beefy bulgogi rice bowl was really good. I'd love to try it all, hahaha.

As long as you keep in mind that this is a simple, authentic take-away-focused place for vegetarians, you will enjoy it a lot! The lady at the counter is direct, even by Dutch standards, but hey—it only adds to the atmosphere! Note: there’s no toilet inside, but the food quality is good, so you’ll unlikely need it :) Their fried noodles are delicious, and I like that they add soy protein. Spicing/flavour is top-notch. I also enjoyed their tapioca dessert with matcha. The only improvement I would add is using better noodles quality for the kimchi ramen. It tasted like the packaged one from the supermarket. Overall I can recommended the place, especially for fried noodles.

We were on a short vacation in the Netherlands and found this place. Amazing 100% vegan food. The owner is very stressed, but friendly and sweet. The food is amazing - almost unbelievably good. It's strongly seasoned and intense. The bulgogi bowl is out of this world. Take note, this is a small place with limited seating opportunities, it's more takeaway-focused. If there is a place to sit, the owner will invite you to order and sit down. I wish more places were like this, especially when looking for vegan food. Very good prices!

A woman-owned and minority-owned eatery serving fully vegan Korean and Japanese-inspired food, such as Jjajangmyeon Spaghetti and Cheesy Dakkalbi. Not traditional dishes but interesting if you like fusion concepts. Limited seating and mostly self-service, as it’s mainly a takeaway concept and it’s a one-woman show~ (She literally does the ordering, cooking, serving on her own!) Located near De Pijp Station.

I absolutely don't understand negative reviews: yes, there is no toilet and it's half self-service, but the owner clearly states it on her website and at the restaurant, so stop complaining people!

Completely vegan, what a gem! ETA: went there again a week after because it was so good. It was as good as last time! The owner does it all by herself, the focus is not on service, but on good food. Which is very charming and unlike other places in Amsterdam. That's why this place is such a gem. I will definitely visit again soon, can't wait to try everything on the menu :)

This is a cute takeaway spot that has some indoor seating. The food was absolutely amazing and you could tell it was fresh and made in a home-style way. It feel like it was in a sketchy area but we weren't bothered as we walked the street.

Highly recommend. A low key eatery but not lacking charm and coziness. Everything I tried was delicious.The meals are prepared by the owner with the care you'd expect. I ended up eating dinner here two days in a row and possibly a 3rd day had it not been closed on Thursdays. Sizable portions and excellent value. Be sure to make an online reservation to secure a spot, especially if in a group.

a small korean/japanese restaurant that is mostly for takeout, but if you're lucky you can book a table here as well! the food was incredible and extremely affordable, very generous portions and delicious :) we had the japchae, the jajangmyeon and the milky miso soup and loved every bite the jajangmyeon came with vegan meat and oyster mushrooms and the combination was sooooo good the owner basically does everything by herself so she's quite busy but she was also very kind, the atmosphere was very nice we would come back here any day, i highly recommend this place (not just to vegans, i believe anyone would love it here :))

This is the best vegan place in Amsterdam in regards to food quality/quantity and taste. Price is very cheap for Amsterdam too! My favorite place for a chill dinner. The only thing to note is that it doesn't have a toilet.

A very intimate place with generous portions, fast service, and fair prices. Despite being all alone cooking and serving the lady in charge delivered to me two beautiful and healthy dishes rich with flavour. Each dish, in theory, equals a full meal, and when I ordered two, she was very fair in explaining that to me. Super satisfied, till next time.

We were very well received! Bravo to the owner who manages the restaurant alone and who manages to quickly serve us the dish as we ordered it and while being respectful. I even spilled a glass, she cleaned it up, reassuring me, then went back to the kitchen. Regarding the dish we were satisfied although a little too salty.

We have both been to visit De Patchka and eat there and have had takeaway too. Love this food! So tasty/ lekker! The lady who runs the place was lovely and the meals have been consistently good. Will be eating here again to try my third option!

Loved the food and the atmosphere. One of the best vegan meals I had in Amsterdam so far. The owner of the shop is super nice and friendly. I would definitely come back again! Update as of November 2024: I have been regularly ordering from de Patchka for about 1.5 years now, and the quality has stayed on the same high level all this time. Every time absolutely delicious and so flavorful! My favorite is the cheesy dakkalbi and my husband prefers the bibimhapje. We love de Patchka!

During vacation my fiancée and I went to this restaurant 2 years ago and we still think about how amazing the food was to this day. We are from the U.S. and don’t know when we will be able to go back but when we are back in Europe this place will be one of the first places we will go to again. Anytime I talk about our trip with anyone, I mention this place and the wonderful woman who cooked/took our order. I wish this restaurant all the success it deserves!

Delicious korean food. The owner is a one man army who puts great effort into everything. Be informed it is more a takeout place without a restroom. As a drink I would recommend the Vaya kombucha.
