We've been coming here since the beginning, seven years, and we wouldn't go anywhere else! Plus, the cocktails are delicious and affordable. And the focaccia is amazing. The pizzas are the best. No, we won't go anywhere else!

If you want to go to this restaurant, you should call an ambulance to take you straight to the hospital after eating there, because you're guaranteed to get a stomach ache from that disgusting pizza. Moreover, the staff are extremely rude and have absolutely no respect for the elderly. 0 stars

Great pizzas. Worth the detour.

Ordered a nearly 20€ pizza and parts of it wasn’t even delivered (burrata ).When I contacted them about I was told to cancel my order with thuisbezorg and make a new order! Terrible service Also ordered a tiramisu which is nearly 8€ and it’s about 2.5 bites an absolute ripoff!! My recommendation is to go straight to BACIO pizza, which is a quality pizza spot with better pizzas and better prices done by Italians as it should be!

Best pizza that I have tried in recent times there's also pizza of the month which is delicious and unique, always have been pleasantly surprised ❤️. The homemade desserts were mind-blowing. Great service and hospitality too. Location - very accessible. Parking could be a little challenging but worth the effort :) cheers.

Delicious Italian pizzas in a stunning building on Dam Square in Zaandam. The staff is fantastic; it's a true family business. A wonderful place to enjoy pizza, a real asset to Zaandam.

Karig belegde pizza’s Ik kon mn ansjovis echt niet vinden op de Napolitana- Zwart verbranden randen en bodem. Kraanwater hebben ze niet ( gek toch in Nederland) wel flessenwater. En de tafels gedenkt met vreselijke plastic tafelkleedjes Plakken dus als het warm is.En het duurde allemaal veel te lang!

This place never lets you down. Pizza is fantastic, and there’s a great selection. Always nice friendly service, and familiar faces. And the kids can get play dough (which is actual pizza dough) to play with, which they even bake for us. Thank you for your work!!

We waited over an hour for the pizza. The chance to compensate for the annoyance is missed. Apologies are made but do not arrive, in the same sentence it is said that it is so busy and difficult to keep an eye on everything. Pizza with tasty ingredients but too sparsely topped. Disappointing

Always delicious pizza and a glass of wine or cocktail at the pizza bakers in Zaandam

After several good experiences at other Pizzabakkers we tried this one for the first time. We sat on the terrace and it was not busy. However, we had to wait 50 minutes for our starter, which was only focaccia with dips. After half an hour we asked if she knew if it was almost there, she reacted surprised that we asked this and said she would check. After that she never came back and no apologies, so it took another 20 minutes before it was served. The pizzas after that also took way too long and I also found the taste disappointing. Also they did not actively ask if we wanted a new drink with an empty glass. Unfortunately we will not come back here again.

I dont recommend it, the restaurant was almost empty, there where people eating/almost finishing when I arrived. It took more than 30mins for a pizza that only had tomatoes and tomatoes sauce. They forgot the antipasto/entrance I ordered “blaming” the system. At the end I payed everything and I only got an “I am sorry”. I was sitting alone which made the experience even more ackward.

Always nice staff. Lovely outside seating. Starter was a mix of starters and all very tasty. As a main course I once ordered the vegan pizza and was surprised at how good the cheese was. Food is great and their limoncello goes perfectly with it.

Unfortunately I had to change my review to 1 star. 75 minutes waiting for pizzas and they still had to be made ... We left but not before we had to wait for the pin machine because the drinks had to be paid by the management, very unfortunate!

Don't be fooled by the negative reviews. Yes, the pizza dough is thin, but it's good, as are the sauces and condiments. The shaved parmesan was delicious. The servers are also very pleasant, and you can see the chefs preparing the pizzas. The downsides would be the prices, of course, even though the pizzas are quite large, and the ambient noise.

I have honestly never had such a bad experience. I placed my order via Uber Eats around 5:45 PM and it never arrived. I had already called 4 times and asked where my pizza was. One colleague said that my pizza had already been made, the other colleague said that it had not yet been made. At one point I asked if my pizza would arrive cold if it had apparently already been made, but there was no delivery person yet. To which I was literally told: "Yes, probably, but that is not our problem." Excuse me? I pay almost 25 euros to then be the victim of the fact that you work with Uber Eats, they cannot provide delivery people so I have to eat a cold pizza? The girl kept repeating that it was not her problem, after which I luckily got a manager on the phone who did know what he was doing and knew how to speak to a customer. The icing on the cake was that I heard the girl in question say to her manager in the background: "Please answer this phone" in a tone that you absolutely should not talk about a customer in, especially when you are still talking to them on the phone. The only star for this review is therefore to the manager of Saturday evening 24-05, but I will never order from here again.

We hebben hier een paar weken geleden gegeten met ons gezin. Alles was prima in orde. Volgens mij was het voor een maandag behoorlijk druk, of drukker dan gedacht en dat kan heel rot zijn als je moet werken. Het werd allemaal prima geregeld en het eten was zalig!

Very good thin-crust pizza & friendly atmosphere

For € 25 (pizza 16,50 and tiramisu 7,75) I expected at least a good pizza. Terrible dough, was concrete by the time I got home. Its 10 min drive. And then also torched beyond saving any taste. And a few flakes of toppings. Come on, for that price you can do better boss! You can see how dry this thing is. And what's with that 'tiramisu'? € 8 for that flap there? That fake cake is not even worth 3 euro, especially that size. Insulting. For a place that only makes pizza, to have this horrible dough and then charge as if it was special, not worth it. This place pretends to be something special and I find insulting for the real makers who make the dough themselves the night before. So to me not worth it, not even a star for such disrespect.

In itself a pizza that has quite a nice taste, but all in all gives little satisfaction because of the price. The pizza base is very thin, the toppings are sparingly used, it looks like a Turkish pizza... you are still hungry after your last bite.

Pizzas are quite tasty, the base is on the thin side and therefore a bit tough. Staff are friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is not very romantic or warm. Cold is an exaggeration, but it leans towards it a bit.

I really enjoyed and felt happy while eating there. All employees are really kind and smiling all the time. Kitchen looks well cleaned and their employees also hygenic. If i visit Zaandam again, i will defenitely eat in here again.

Mijn ervaring in dit restaurant was erg teleurstellend vanwege de gebrekkige hygiëne. Het snijgereedschap werd in deze 2 uur, niet schoongemaakt, het bakje met heel vies water waar het in lag was daarvoor ook niet schoongemaakt en de pizzabakker waste in de twee uur dat ik er was nooit zijn handen. Als zijn handen vies waren, veegde hij ze af aan zijn schort of broek en raakte daarna de ingrediënten aan. Dit vond ik erg onhygiënisch. Na mijn bezoek kreeg ik last van mijn maag en darmen, en ‘s nachts had ik diarree. Waarom werkt deze jongen er nog

Delicious pizza. Kids had a great time with their ball of pizza dough and it was nice that it went into the oven before them. We had to wait too long for our drink once. I would have liked my red wine with my pizza, but the pizza was already 2/3 gone. For the rest fine

We came here to celebrate a birthday, and we were very well received. The staff prepared a nicely decorated table for us and made us feel welcome. The food was good. The pizzas are not really Italian style, but they did seem inventive and original, which is something to be appreciated. What we liked most were the cocktails. We had one based on limoncello and another based on oranges and red wine (I think it was called Crazy Negroni?). Both were excellent. The desserts were also tasty. The restaurant is quiet even though there were many people inside. You can have a conversation and hear each other easily. We enjoyed our evening very much.

We hebben vanavond met vriendinnen bij jullie gegeten. Helaas niet wat we ervan verwacht hadden. De pizza’s waren koud. 3 konden terug de oven in. Twee waren daarna goed de derde kwam verbrand terug. En de andere moesten het met een koude pizza doen.

I find it really bizarre that I live 190 meters from the restaurant and just get cold pizzas worth €40 delivered. In addition, the extra toppings were not on the pizza but next to it? Truffle sauce was as liquid as water and had no truffle flavor at all. Delivery guy via Uber was there within 2 minutes so it wasn't his fault. 3 years ago it was much better. No idea what happened there.

Nice restaurant in a cozy old building on De Dam in Zaandam, with pizzas that are not so average and tasty (my favorite is the pfunghi & pancetta). Nice people too, nice terrace. Not in the sun in the evening, but more atmospheric.

Excellent pizzas are baked in a beautiful building on Dam Square. My pizza had a good taste, was crispy and had something fresh about it, which was a good combination. You can also expect something surprising here. Focacia starter was also excellent with good sauces. Chocolate mousse for dessert completed the evening. The food here is just fine. The service makes it complete. You will receive a warm welcome. And nice to take a look in the kitchen. Years ago I once made a Zaans Story about the pizza makers. They then gave children from families living in poverty a free pizza. So they also have a heart for their fellow man, which is great! When the weather is nice you can eat outside on the terrace.

Ordered 2 pizza margherita and 1 tira misu for 43 (!!!!!!!!!) euros. Crappy dry pizzas that arrived almost cold. Barely dry tasteless tira misu. Never again!!

We’ve had series of unfortunate events during our visit. Not worth going back. There are other pizza places in Zaandam that deserves attention. 1. We were offered a seat next to the kitchen as we had no reservation. It was all fine until when we’re about to order, they asked us to transfer to the bar because it was apparently the table was reserved. It’s forgivable until.. 2. Pizza came - the red pizza was good but the tartufo was dry and tasted nothing like tartufo. We were hungry so we ate it anyway with extra spicy olive oil. 3. Ordered Tiramisu. It was dry. Period. 4. Ordered affogato. The waitress asked if I want amaretto with it. It was unusual but am willing to try so went for it. When served, it didn’t taste like it had the liquer so I asked if they put the liquer in - they said they did so fine. Then all of a sudden another waitress just pulled my espresso cup and poured the liquer in it. The espresso became diluted with the liquer as we already finished half of it so it tasted purely like alcohol - no apologies and the waitress was combative. Not worth the additional cost. It would’ve been great if there was an apology. I understand the restaurant is busy and I’m usually very patient to restaurant staff. This time, it’s not really acceptable especially for the price we had to pay. At least have the decency to apologize. That’s all.

Delicious pizza with a thin crispy base.

Such a shame when we come in on a Sunday evening at 9:00 PM to eat two pizzas, we are told that the dough has run out. Quite strange when you're open until 10pm! Vincent and Joke were not there themselves... Because during their presence we have never heard at 9 pm that the dough was gone.....

Probably the worst pizza ever. Paid 41 euros including delivery for ice cold Pizza. Paid extra for a whole buratta and you only get half. On top of that, a lovely long hair on the pizza. Contacted, according to the pizza makers it is all up to Uber. Never again!

Excellent pizza in a cozy restaurant. The pizza oven is clearly visible and the chefs throw up the dough for the pizza bases within sight of the restaurant. Nice to have such a glimpse into the kitchen. The taste of the pizzas was fine and the base was paper thin. The service was also what you would expect.

De Pizzabakkers Zaandam is our favorite pizzeria in Zaandam. My husband and I go there often because, so far, it’s the best pizza we’ve found in town. I have a few favorites on the menu, like the Tartufo pizza, but if you visit, I really recommend trying their pizza of the month. Each month, they come up with a different pizza featuring unique ingredients. For instance, in October, I had one topped with chicory. The pizzas always have a thin, crispy crust, and they’re absolutely delicious. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Great pizzas! Not your usual ingredients, which made it quite interesting. Didn’t fancy a choice of the three pizzas of the month But the food we did order was fabulous. Service was a little slow, but friendly enough. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Super! Ambiance très sympa à l'intérieur, plus que l'extérieur ne le laissait présager. Service rapide, pizzas faites devant vous. Cela sent la bonne entreprise familiale. Et les pizzas sont justes excellentes! Nous avons testé une à la truffe et l'autre aux champignons des bois et nous nous sommes régalés.

The staff insults guests! Dear pizzeria employees, if a guest does not speak Dutch, this does not mean that he does not understand Dutch and you have the right to insult us (unfortunately, Google don’t give permission, tell directly what was saying) behind our backs when other guests understand you! This is humiliating!!!!!! Situation: I was in this pizzeria with my daughter. We asked about the availability of a table and were offered one, but were told that there was a reservation for it at 18:00. We had 1 hour and 20 minutes to eat our pizza. We made it in 45 minutes, paid and left. On the way, my daughter told me that the people working there were very bad and she didn’t want to come there anymore. To my question "why?" she replied that the staff called us with the bad words. We were very polite, smiling and left a tip. All bill was around 70 euro. When the waiter made a mistake and brought us one plate for two (we asked from beginning two plates to share a pizza and salad because we not eat too much, but we want to try menu), we told her not to worry and that we could handle it without bothering her. What have we done to deserve this attitude towards ourselves???? My only regret is that my daughter didn't tell me about it when we were there. In this case, I would directly contact these persons, administration and the owner of this pizzeria.

The pizza base is thin and tough, even with a serrated knife it was almost impossible to get through. The woman at the table next to us had the same challenge. Considering previous reviews, this seems to me to be a point of attention, to say the least.

Delicious food at the bar, beautiful tent and an open kitchen, which really creates a familiar, cozy atmosphere. Nice service that is also very cheerful.

I always loved this place. One i always bring my guests but i noticed the reduction in quality of starters at least and young inexperienced waitresses…. Still hope it gets back to how it was- amazing warm and great food spot in Zaandam .

What a joke,they call this Italian pizza,it’s made with cheap ingredients and the so called mozzarella tastes like rubber/obviously this franchise establishment chooses for low quality products just to keep up with the demand too bad cause a few years ago was decent and enjoyable/ such a shame!

I'm truly disappointed to say that the pizza I had here was one of the worst I've ever tasted. The "Pizza of the Month" was an absolute letdown. Its paper-thin crust offered little substance, and the meager toppings lacked any discernible flavor balance. While the ambiance and service were pleasant, they couldn't salvage the truly disappointing culinary experience.

Best best best. Had caprese, caponata, Fungu & Pancetta and Tartufo. All were great. The Affogato is THE BEST .

The restaurant has earned a rating of 4 stars and leaves a very positive impression overall. Although it looks inconspicuous from the outside, the interior is tastefully and harmoniously designed. The service was extremely friendly and tried to answer all questions in detail despite a slight language barrier. The menu offered a solid selection, especially pizzas, as you would expect from a pizzeria. There were about eight different types as well as some antipasti. A small point of criticism is the selection of drinks, which only included products from St. Pellegrino - unfortunately one searched for cola in vain, which is why one star was deducted. The pizzas themselves were excellent. The dough was thin, but not too thin, with a nice crispy edge. The tomato sauce was intensely tomatoey and had a pleasantly fine consistency. The cheese content was a bit sparse, but that only emphasized the fresh taste of the tomatoes. Of particular note are the salami pizza with fennel, which offered a unique taste, and the pizza with ham, truffle oil and egg. The traditional pizza oven certainly added to the authentic taste. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant for lovers of good pizza and an appealing atmosphere.

I order a pizza which was really delicious. I had paid 2.5 euros for pesto. My pizza arrives and throughout the meal I think "am I blind or haven't I got pesto on" I ask a waiter and he points to the green and says it's pesto. Afterwards, I pass a table where a pizza clearly has pesto on it, and I can also see it in the pictures here. I had eaten my pizza when I saw this so didn't feel like I could do more about it. Our drinks had very few ice cubes in them and were room temperature. We had to ask for more ourselves.

Het leek een gezellig en betaalbaar restaurant en dat klopte ook wel, maar de bediening had wel een voorgerecht doorgegeven aan de keuken, maar heeft hoofdgerecht niet. We hebben vervolgens (toen hij het door had) nog een half uur mogen wachten. Eerst mochten we een glas kraanwater bij ons eten, maar toen de eigenaresse erbij kwam, mochten we alleen maar flesjes water bestellen. De pizzas waren minimaal belegd en dat maakte de betaalbare prijs alsnog vrij duur. Mede gasten klaagden ook over de lange wachttijden. Voor mij niet meer dit.

I often come here for a pizza. I'm usually surprised by the pizza of the month. It hasn't disappointed me yet. Pizza base is nice and thin and crispy. Staff nice and quick.

Had to wait 1.5 hours for two burnt pizzas. No one looks around and takes orders. For 1.5 hours no one asked if we wanted something to drink. Once the pizzas were delivered we had to ask for cutlery, tissues and extra plates for the 2 Kids. In the end we didn't need it anymore, because we ate our pizzas so quickly that we wanted to get out of there asap. Service drama, waiting time drama, never experienced this before. Is it selective or they just can't handle it. Didn't understand anything. But NEVER eat there again. Don't recommend it to anyone. Waste of your money.

Tasty pizza and a fun atmosphere in Zaandam

We were 5 hungry people with no reservations. We were turned away (because of no reservations) at the top rated pizza place in town. We walked around and looked at restaurants and decided to stop here. We were trying to decide if we needed to wait for a table or just sit down... a customer who doesn't even work there took us inside and found us a table! The focaccia with the sauces was soooo good! We all ordered a different pizza and shared with each other. All of the pizzas were delicious!! The service was pleasant and the atmosphere was good! We definitely recommend!

Went last night. A heartbreak at the prices. Glass of rose €6.50, glass of bitter lemon €3.75. Pizza €16. Sit at a high table on stools and leave within 35 minutes. We will look for another place from now on

Excellent atmosphere, good food and everything very organized and clean!

The thin crust pizza absolutely delicious. It definitely quenched my hunger. The beer quenched my thirst and the limoncello drink just needed a little tad more sugar but I'm not sure if that's how people like it. It was great though. The atmosphere definitely is nice. You get a nice quiet table right inside or outside and the square of zaandem.

An aperitivo with spritz and, they say two bruschetta, but it was clearly a big bruschetta divided in 6 small pieces. The spritz was clearly made by someone who never drank or made a spritz before. Olives warm out of the ove, and bruschetta cold out of the fridge. The pizza was an insult to the real pizza makers. The margherita was a treasure hunt for mozzarella, and the half burrata, was just a slice of a burrata, definitely not half. Not recommended. Will never try this again.

I took a simple margherita pizza, the pizza is not like the one you can see in some published photos with large frames but it is low. This doesn't mean it's bad, on the contrary, the tomato has a flavor and the mixture is delicious. I would have used a little more mozzarella! For a local pizzeria the price is not high, the atmosphere is nice and the staff are friendly

1 hour waiting time for pizza is unbelievable.

Because the Facebook advertisements made me curious, I walked in here. The food is fine. I chose the pizza Caponata, with sauce with eggplant and celery. The pizza was nice and thin and crispy and the ingredients were recognizable. I would have liked a little more. With a delicious large plate of salad of arugula and fennel. The Tiramusu was a large portion, nothing special.

Average pizza that takes an hour to prepare. Wanted a coffee afterwards but "there was no time for that"

Taste is technically bland Sparsely invested My son called this the worst Margherita ever (no taste at all) and rightly so and he is a connoisseur Some frozen pizzas are better and I'm not kidding. We normally always eat at an original Italian... and we won't make this trip anymore Furthermore, the neighbors received the starter after the pizzas (ticket system not in order?)
