De Pomp Utrecht in Wijk 08 Zuidwest

Unfortunately, glory faded. Almost scared me to death when I saw a hamburger on the menu. Very unfortunate, we have been coming here for 5 years with great pleasure and always enjoy it. Since they adjusted the shared dining concept, it is certainly not the same anymore.

Nice restaurant just outside the center in an old garage. With a beautiful card. Not too many dishes, but enough choice for everyone and that can be seen because on this Saturday afternoon the place was quite full and reservations are sometimes necessary. We will definitely come back!

Really a menu with only tasty things!! Both for lunch and dinner. Very nice and enthusiastic staff. Can be a bit busy/noisy inside, but I always give De Pomp as a tip to people if they are looking for something fun in Utrecht!

Food okay. Service bad. Waited half an hour for three coffees, while two tables were occupied when we arrived. We ordered something to drink with dinner. That didn't arrive until after 20 minutes when we finished the food. Waiter's response: too few staff. I'd say throw out a few tables and serve your guests well. Please keep it up!

Delicious food! The redfish, Caesar salad (!!!), grilled vegetables and basil ice cream are definitely recommended. The service was quite slow, it always took a long time before they came to the table. But the food was so delicious that I still give it 5 stars :)

At the beginning the service seemed to be very busy, but it made them unfriendly. The kitchen couldn't get a lime and dirty glasses were served. Later when it became less busy, it was much better.

A special restaurant. Super friendly service by young employees. We had a three course dinner. Starter (beetroot) was delicious, main course was a tough piece of meat with delicious vegetables and tasty fries. The ice cream for dessert was also delicious. Cozy atmosphere. Definitely recommended.

Had brunch here on Sunday morning. We had been here before and came back for the labneh! This time it was even better! I dare say with certainty that this was the best lunch in Utrecht for me! Friendly staff and very nice decor!! Definitely recommended :)

We sat on the terrace at the Pomp! We stayed dry under the large parasols before the rain shower passed by. The food was very tasty and the drinks too! Even though there isn't much on the menu, there is something for everyone!

We had a fantastic meal here. What used to be a gas station is now a great restaurant. Although simply furnished, you can enjoy friendly service and delicious dishes here. The restaurant is only located here temporarily and we hope it will return.

It was very noisy, I had difficulty hearing my conversation partner. The food was tasty, but the service was a bit crazy because it took quite a while before we received a dinner menu even though we had made a reservation for it. When an employee asked if we wanted to order something to eat, after we had already received the dinner menu, she suddenly walked away?? That was very strange. A great experience, but I don't know if I'll be back there anytime soon

Great opportunity for lunch, when the weather is good you can sit outside on the terrace

Wanted to like it. Never got to try the food. They were very busy. Had a reservation for 3. We were seated at a table for two and told we would have another chair brought over, which never happened. We waited for 30 minutes and no one took our food or drink order, and we were too hungry to wait longer, so we had to leave.

Had a delicious asparagus salad for lunch, special place, nicely decorated. Fast service, even when the entire terrace was full.

Enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the sun. Drinks delivered quickly. Then we had dinner where some things went wrong, but the food was good.

Real value for money! Delicious wines and good food. Compared to many restaurants in Utrecht of the same level, very affordable! We will definitely come back again!

A very nice place to eat or have a drink with friends or colleagues. This is not just a hip place (definitely the place you want to be seen) but it is also a restaurant with a mission. The owners have a heart for the environment in which they work. Of course they sponsor eating out with your heart. The atmosphere in which they pamper the elderly ensures that this is perhaps the best functioning dining group in Utrecht and perhaps in the Netherlands. Price/quality ratio is excellent. Atmosphere is excellent. In short, be surprised and visit this restaurant, you won't regret it.

I've been here twice and the drinks and snacks are fine, but I'm always amazed at how slow the service is. From what I hear, there are four to five people working in the service at any given time, but before the first order is taken (and only because it is requested) it takes at least half an hour, even though it is not busy at all. Nice tent, but this could really be much better!

Marinated mackerel with turnip, spectacular

Despite the kind assistance from a wonderful lady, our experience at De Pomp was disappointing. Although she clearly did her best to help us, she seemed to be stonewalled by the kitchen. We had two pregnant women in our group of five. We understand that dietary requirements can be difficult, but it is also not realistic for a pregnant woman to stay at home for nine months. You hope that restaurants will think along with you. Here's what happened: the dishes that were safe for pregnant women contained a soft-boiled egg. We kindly asked if it was possible to hard-boil the egg. However, this was resolutely refused. We then asked if it was possible to get the red meat well done. This was also refused on principle. Ultimately, the pregnant women chose the vegetable dishes without egg, while the others opted for the vegetable dishes with soft-boiled egg and the red meat dish. However, to our surprise, the non-pregnant guests received a hard-boiled egg and a well-done piece of meat, while the pregnant women had to make do with the vegetable dishes. Not only was this disappointing from a women-friendly point of view, but it also gave the impression that the kitchen was incompetent or deliberately trying to make us sick. All in all, our experience was mediocre and we cannot recommend De Pomp.

Surprisingly good food - we have been here before but never had such good food as today. Recommended! The only point is the acoustics, quite a lot of noise. But that's to be expected in a building like this 🙂

Erg sterke prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Voor €40,- euro een drie gangen menu. Het is goed terug te zien dat er wordt nagedacht over welke smaken er op het bord worden gepresenteerd. Veel toko’s geloven in lekker+lekker=lekker, de pomp geloofd in veel gedachte stoppen in wat ze de klant serveren. Daarnaast erg vriendelijke bediening die uitlegt wat het is dat je in je mond stopt!

Ik dacht even snel een uitsmijter te bestellen en snel op te eten. Dus niet. Volgens mij minimaal 3 eieren en zie foto. En de smaak was goed.

Sjiek dineren voor een redelijk betaalbaar bedrag! De smaken en combinaties zijn uniek en super lekker. De sfeer in het oude benzinestation is sjiek en gezellig.

We where there early afternoon, We did not have reservations and they where fully booked, how ever they managed to give us a table of two🙌 While taking the order we where ask if we had allergies. Which we don't. This is very thoughtful. Food was excellent and service was great! We sure had an amazing Dinner.

Erg leuk vormgegeven restaurant/ cafe. Bediening echter niet vriendelijk wat maakt dat je je niet echt welkom voelt. Erg jammer want het ziet er super uit.

Mooie locatie en prima kaart en service!

Wij hebben met een groep vrienden voor het chefsmenu gekozen en het was 1 groot feest. Speciale smaken en prachtig opgemaakte borden! De vriendelijke bediening heeft ons bij iedere gang geadviseerd voor een lekkere wijn bij het eten. Super leuke zaak en een mega groot terras! Fijn dat je hier ook kan reserveren buiten. 100% een aanrader, tot snel!

Mooie tent met goeie sfeer en gezellige bediening maar het eten liet helaas echt te wensen over. Ik houd van deze keuken, maar dan moet het wel echt goed zijn! Omdat wij met een groep waren kregen we een menuutje van 4 gerechten. De eerste twee gerechten waren 2 groentegerechten die ik zelf niet achter elkaar zou kiezen als onderdeel van een chefs menu. Onze vega tafelgenoten kregen ook een soortgelijk gerecht als hoofdgerecht wat het geheel wel heel eenzijdig maakte. De rest kreeg een piepkuiken die, naar mijn smaak, niet voldoende op smaak was en weinig vlees op de botten had voor een piepkuiken. Daarnaast hadden we na 2,5 uur nog maar 1 ronde op en moesten meerdere mensen haasten met het hoofdgerecht en zonder toetje naar huis. Fijn dat er daarom wel een menu van de rekening werd gehaald! Maar ik ga liever met een voldaan gevoel de deur uit dan met korting. Jammer, hier ga ik misschien nog eens een biertje drinken maar niet meer eten.

Ideale lunchplek. Gezellig interieur en knus terras. Vriendelijke bediening. Beperkte kaart - maar wat er geserveerd wordt, SMAAKT! Ook lekkere cappuccino.

De laatste tijd enorm achteruit gegaan, hele kleine porties en alles met weinig liefde gemaakt. De nacho’s stellen niks voor, dorito’s met wat saus uit een pot en wat pepertjes en de shashuka is treurig, 1 klein eitje in een bakje zoete tomatensaus met 2 harde stukjes oud brood.

We hebben een gezellige avond gehad en zaten heel fijn op het terras. Het eten viel helaas tegen. We begonnen met brood, maar we kregen slechts 1 sneetje per persoon (later op verzoek kregen we er nog 1). We bestelden het chef's menu voor 37,50, maar de drie gerechten die we kregen waren niet vegetarisch maar volledig vegan. Dit werd niet vermeld op de kaart, anders hadden we wel vlees of vis bijbesteld. Eiwitten ontbrak volledig in de geroosterde wortels (gerecht 1), geroosterde knolselderij (gerecht 2) en dashibouillon met gekookte aardappel en geraspte wortel (gerecht 3). Voor dit geld hadden we echt meer verwacht. Daarnaast was de bediening vaak in de war: we kregen bijv. per ongeluk twee keer hetzelfde gerecht uitgeserveerd.

Hele leuke plek net buiten het centrum. Makkelijk eten zonder teveel poespas, heel ongedwongen. Gezellige sfeer en leuk personeel.

The interior and design of the restaurant is a combination of industrial and a little bit of vintage. It has a large outside seating area. They hace high chairs for small children (the IKEA ones) as well. The three of us ordered a shakshuka (without feta), a kimchi croque and the strawberry pancake. The shakshuka was lovely seasoned with spices and the eggs were perfectly cooked (poached). It goes nicely with the two slices of sourdough bread. The kimchi croque was tasty too with oozing and crunchy cheese on top, two thick slices of sourdough bread with delicious kimchi filling. It was accompanied with a small batch of Sriracha mayonnaise. The pancakes with strawberries was a layer of 3 thick pancakes with nice fluffy and sticky texture (perfect for us, though it's very personal). Topped with mascarpone and strawberries. Not overly sweet, which was nice. The staff was friendly and prices were very reasonable.

Het voormalig pompstation aan de Croeselaan is knap getransformeerd in een mooi café - restaurant. De grote parasols en schaduwdoek creëren een heerlijk terras. De binnenruimte is ingericht met een knipoog naar de historie van het gebouwtje. De latte macchiato decaf havermelk is zacht, de cappuccino is ook zacht van smaak maar geeft toch een mooie, volle koffiesmaak. Om in “Shell terminologie” voor de ouderen onder ons te blijven: De Pomp is meer Super dan Normaal! Verslavend lekker!!

Met een kleine groep gegeten bij de pomp. Sfeer was goed en bediening vriendelijk. 3-4 gangen verrassingsmenu gegeten. Vlees/vis was prima, maar vegetarisch was lekker, maar met drie gerechten met alleen maar groenten (1.wortels 2. Mei knolletjes 3.spits kool) zonder bijgerechten niet voedzaam genoeg. Gelukkig konden we kaas als nagerecht bestellen voor de broodnodige eiwitten. Zoals gezegd was de bediening aardig, maar het duurde steeds wel erg lang voordat de drankjes kwamen. Leuke plek, maar niet helemaal tevreden.

Leuke unieke tent. Alleen iets gedronken.

Vriendelijk personeel en waarschijnlijk iets te weinig mensen in de bediening, af en toe wat langer wachten. Smakelijk gegeten alleen zat bij het verrassingsmenu van vegetarisch en vis toch ook een gang met, wel goed bereid, vlees. De sfeer is goed en binnen zit je toch ook een beetje buiten.

Heerlijk eten, gezond, anders, vriendelijke bediening. Goed op de hoogte van tevoren doorgegeven bijzonderheden.

Goed en leuk en lekker! Erg goed eten, lekker veel zonder vlees ook. Sympathieke bediening en leuke sfeer. Helaas vanavond wel te druk waardoor we erg (te) lang moesten wachten op de volgende gang. Dat werd wel netjes goed gemaakt door 2 drankjes van de rekening te halen. De aangeraden 4 gerechtjes pp vind ik wat ambitieus, dan wordt het ook te prijzig. Voor een normale eter kun je ook prima met een gedeeld vooraf en 2 gerechtjes pp uit. Maar dat is natuurlijk persoonlijk. Al met al: kwaliteit eten bovengemiddeld goed. Zeker een aanrader als ze de keuken en uitgifte beter afstemmen op het aantal couverts.

Leuke plek. Goed eten en humoristische bediening

Fijne bediening en een wat compactere kaart voor de lunch maar helemaal ok en goed! De bediening was uiterst vriendelijk en het eten was met liefde bereid en zeer smakelijk! De kaart is wat Magreb en midden oosten getint. Heel lekker en een leuke sfeer in de oude garage! Dank! Ook een heerlijke lunch op het ruime terras is een aanrader. Weinig autoverkeer en goede kaart en bediening.

Leuk klein restaurant, prima gerechten voor redelijke prijs. Als het druk is wel een enorme herriebak, je kunt elkaar maar matig verstaan.
