In the quiet courtyard in front of a public office, shaded by a large tree, a group of outdoor tables welcomes guests simply but with great attention and care. The staff is very kind and attentive, without being intrusive. The food is tasty and refined. I will gladly return.

What a wonderful restaurant this is; 5 Michelin stars in my opinion. Amazing staff. These people also think along with you and do everything in their power to make you feel comfortable. Hats off to you!!!

The menu was very good and plentiful. I had a Tempranillo, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was attractively decorated.

Friday night dinner with a friend, small menu, simple dishes vegan, fish and meat. Restaurant is divided in two separate spaces. My seating was in the quiet area. Service was friendly but slow, food was good enough, a small misorder but overall okay. Not necessarily going back as it wasn’t that special, but at least the price matched the food and service under 50 pp for 2 courses and some drinks (no alcohol)

Honestly, I expected more. It was otherwise just fine, perfectly edible, nothing wrong with it. But if you ask me now: What exactly did you eat? I can only mention the spoon, because the lady who brought it had a good story to go with it. That's really the only thing that stuck with me.

Boxing Day and a disorganized mess in the service, despite everyone trying their best. I don't want to have to ask for my wine with the dish when I'm on a wine pairing. Water was included, but that was charged separately. The food lacked refinement. Too bland. Lacked salt. As the evening progressed, it became clear that the kitchen was also struggling. The risotto was simply dumped onto the plate. There was no Jerusalem artichoke, but undercooked chunks of pumpkin and celeriac. A scandalous Christmas dish. My diamond fillet was cooked well but lacked sauce and salt, and the list goes on. The desert trifle. Strange flavor combinations that had absolutely nothing to do with the traditional trifle. So don't call it that. We had a good time together. But I'll never come here again.

Christmas Day was terrible. The staff were friendly and trying their best, but many of them seemed to be on their first day at the job. Every moment of the evening was just chaos: several forgotten orders, long waits, poor organisation. They took our coats upon arrival and then we had to go look for them ourselves because they had no idea which guest gave what. The food was passable but expensive. Our “4 course menu” was in fact a 3 course menu with a little lemon sorbet thrown in as an extra course. Will most likely not visit again.

Christmas Day. What a DISASTER in terms of service. Tables remained full, side dishes arrived after the main course was finished, meat was poorly cooked (though tasty), and glasses were dirty. I've rarely experienced such incredibly poor service. The first drink took a long time to arrive, except for one glass of wine. After that, we didn't see anyone for almost an hour, perhaps for another drink or, even better, a first appetizer. It's your own fault that it's busy; make sure you're organized, even on Christmas Day. The food was otherwise okay, and the service was friendly.

Gosh, this was terrible today. We went here for coffee and cake. Upon arrival, the ladies were more busy on their phones than greeting us. Once we were seated, it took quite a while for someone to come. Half an hour after arriving, we still hadn't received any coffee, so we canceled the cake. The coffee was lukewarm, expensive (6 euros for a cappuccino), and tasted mediocre. When we saw on the bill that a babyccino was charged 3.50, it was clear to us: never again.

I thought my carpaccio sandwiches were okay, the meat was good, but the presentation could use a bit more attention. And sharpen the knives; they're even too small for a sandwich.

A cozy place to enjoy delicious traditional lunch dishes. Nothing particularly special, but simply delicious. Gluten-free was no problem.

We had to perform at a party at the courthouse. The venue manager, Semi, was exceptionally helpful and even offered to perform without us having to ask. It's good to know you're dealing with a venue that also treats its suppliers well. This, of course, improves the experience for the partygoers. The crew meal was also excellent, and we were able to sit in the restaurant. Therefore, 5 stars for the food as well.

We wanted to have lunch here around 1:45 pm after visiting the museum. We walked in and asked at the bar if we could have lunch: "Sure, I'll be right there." After 20 minutes, still nothing, no question, nothing at all. We then left and reported our experience to an older staff member. We received a nonchalant apology. No attempt to retain us as customers. Fortunately, we were well served afterward at Stael, just down the road. It's truly awful when a restaurant doesn't care about its customers!

Had a delicious meal after staying at the Court Hotel. Eggs Benedict with ham and a crispy chicken sandwich. Both delicious, and a cozy atmosphere!

We popped into De Rechtbank for lunch on a super hot day and couldn't have been happier. The terrace was a great spot to cool down, the dishes were delicious, and the staff was absolutely amazing!

The location and the building may raise expectations, but feel free to temper them. The service is typically Dutch: uninterested. The menu is limited, and the preparation is nothing special.

We arrived in a group of 11 people. We were sent inside because there wasn't enough room outside for our size. So we went inside and were told we could sit outside after all, so we all left. The waitress then put three tables together (why didn't she do that right away?). When we wanted to sit down, we were told it was too late for food. We were all visibly annoyed by this point; good service can be better. But that wasn't all. Just as we were about to leave, the waitress told us we could eat, but we had to order within 10 minutes. My meal tasted good and the price was still reasonable. Others who had steak were still hungry afterward. When we wanted to pay, we received a total bill; separate payment was refused. That wasn't a problem either; everyone added their share and was handed over to the waitress. Nothing can go wrong now, can it? Oh yeah, they don't accept €200 notes, what a pity. Main courses cost over €30, but they don't accept €200 bills!!!!!! By now, even the last of us was in a pretty bad mood. If you don't have high expectations of the service, you can definitely eat here. But I wouldn't recommend the restaurant.

Party in the basement. Beautiful space. Very young and sometimes slow staff. We also had to make do with very little.

Had a starter with a team outing (July 1). It was 37 degrees that day. No air conditioning or even ventilation inside. Very special. That made it uncomfortably warm inside. Even drinks were served warm. To make it less bad they put ice cubes in it. Customer friendliness in my experience weak to moderate. I think they were students who just did whatever. Especially the boy with blond hair clearly didn't seem to feel like it. Other staff didn't know what a smile is for the guests. The starter itself is okay but not wow. Volume was disappointing. I won't come back here and I wish them luck.

Good food, with proper dressing and flavors selected with care. Outside area was nice and smartly arranged. Sadly, the service was laughable, performed by a handful of inattentive students who didn't bat an eye about missing our order or focusing on anything except their own banter. Sad but true.

The food was fine, but waiting 3.5 hours for a main course is really too long. Moreover, it was very warm in the room and the air conditioning was only turned on halfway through the evening, but it worked moderately.

Van klantvriendelijkheid en gastvrijheid hebben ze hier nog nooit gehoord en het reserveren van een tafel betekent volgens de medewerkster ook niet dat je een tafel hebt. Dan vraag je toch af waarom je een reservering kunt doen op hun website. Überhaupt is het wonderlijk dat je mensen in dienst hebt die het moeilijk vinden om op een klantvriendelijke manier gasten te woord te staan. Of hebben ze soms het idee dat je al blij mag zijn om daar je lunch of dinner te mogen nuttigen? En ik vind dat doodzonde want je hebt een mooie locatie en leuk terras.

Lousy service, reserved a table but according to the very unfriendly employee there is no room. There is and there are tables set up, but not for us because there seems to be a difference between a reservation for six or eleven people, so we are asked to wait, but while waiting other guests are given a table. Then they come up with a strange excuse that there are not enough staff.

First time at the courthouse for lunch and dinner. Pleasantly surprised by the delicious food. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is casual. Recommended!

But my colleagues had nice tender pieces of meat. Meat was wonderfully flavorful. Lately you have often been eating fairly tasteless meat. Or poor quality. But not at this restaurant! Delicious food. Top service. Everything nicely arranged. Kudos to the team!

Excellent experience at De Rechtbank. Casual atmosphere and basic, but good and affordable food. Start with a small truffle risotto in Parmesan; very tasty with some extra black pepper, you really don't need the fresh truffle. A tablemate had the carpaccio, which was also positively rated. Main course was the beef steak. Excellent medium fried with generous portion of vegetables. The fries were crispy and with a tasty truffle mayonnaise. The house wine by the glass (tempranillo) paired nicely with the steak. Not all that special, but well done. Certainly not fine dining, but worth repeating if you are looking for a place to catch up while eating. Unfortunately we had to deduct a point for forgetting to report our main course to the kitchen. After we asked where it was, it was quickly picked up and we received a drink on the house.

Nicely centrally located in the Museum Quarter. After a number of years we had dinner in the restaurant again. Upon entering, there is a smell of old frying fat that lingers in your clothes. The starters seemed to come from the refrigerated display case. Lots of staff on display but little actual service. In short, it was disappointing. In the summer you can simply relax on the terrace. Because the location remains golden.

We went in for tea and dessert. The cheesecake was not tasty and the whipped cream on it was clearly spoiled, I don't know how long this cheesecake stood unsold. The toilet was very dirty, no toilet paper. I do not recommend this place.

Voor de derde keer in zes weken dezelfde ervaring: bestelling vergeten door te geven. “Dat is me nog nooit overkomen,” zegt het personeel iedere keer. Vandaag kwam de ‘herhaling’ ons ook niet snel genoeg. Na twee keer een kwartier zijn we opgestapt. Hoe moeilijk zijn twee kopjes thee?

Delicious Christmas dinner this evening. Top appetizer, good venison steak and also a cheese board with (free) port. Note, the steak could use more sauce, now it was mainly just meat (but super tender). Cheese board for dessert, explain which types of cheese to eat and in what order. There are details for improvement. In general we had a very pleasant and delicious evening, thanks for this 🤜.

A disappointing Christmas dinner. The matching wines were placed on the table without explanation, often when the meal in question was already half finished. Paper thin tuna tataki. No questions were asked about the desired doneness of the venison steak, some people got it cooked almost gray and for others it was barely medium rare. Sometimes there were huge tendons in the meat. The desserts were substandard in the same sense. An embarrassing display for the price asked. Perhaps the more competent colleagues had time off because it was Christmas Eve?

Ik vond, in tegenstelling tot eerdere ervaringen het erg ongezellig. Mede bediening is de Engelse taal wel nodig. De toiletten waren ongehoord smerig. Daarvan melding gemaakt, er werd wel erg luchtig en lacherig op gereageerd. Tegenvallende ervaring, ik zou er morgen gaan dineren maar dat laat ik nu wel uit mijn hoofd.

A nicely decorated restaurant in a street near the canal and the Dom in Utrecht. The service was very friendly but it took 30 minutes before someone was at our table. On the other hand, we both thought the food was really fantastic.

Service started well but during the course of the evening additional drinks were not taken into account. In my opinion, the steak was a bit overdone and the fries had truffle mayonnaise, stop that! Truffle mayo is a terrible addition to any product. It's kind of a simple way to make something look fancy but the taste ruins everything. The location is also nicely decorated.

The location is nice, in the former court building. We come in with our coats still on and without having seen the menu, I am immediately asked what I want to drink. Someone else serves. We ordered carpacciio and tournedos. Well, just not the best. Fries were very greasy. There were many pieces soaked in and appeared to have been fried several times. Start with bitterballen and olives. Those were good. My glass still has some left in it, I was asked if I wanted to drink it or if I could take the glass with me. Coffee and chai Thea were good. The bill comes, the lady is immediately ready with her pin and says pay immediately? Get away quickly. Who knows, maybe we'll be back on the terrace in the summer. Because it looked nice. Has more potential. We were there on a Tuesday evening.

I was here for the big drinks on Friday, Borrel030. The drinks take place in the basement, where there is a spacious room with a wide bar on one side and the DJ opposite. The bar works with coins, where there is a separate cash register for purchasing the coins. There is a very wide range of drinks and the bar staff is incredibly friendly and pleasant. There was such a good and relaxed atmosphere that was immediately noticeable. The audience is purely highly educated and has just come from work to end a good and tough working week in a pleasant and festive way. Many groups of colleagues, it is clearly visible because the groups are grouped together. The age is a bit higher than average, but that doesn't make it any less fun. Safety is well above average, there is neat and polite security and they keep a close eye on the crowd. All in all a good experience and definitely worth repeating. Very unique location, especially with a hotel and restaurant above it

Na een vriendelijke ontvangst kregen wij een tafel toegewezen voor onze lunch. Daarna duurde het een kwartier voordat er iemand langs kwam om de bestelling op te nemen en ons een menu aan te reiken: personeel liep langs ons heen, zag onze lege tafel, maar reageerde gewoon niet, waardoor wij uiteindelijk maar iemand hebben aangesproken. Wij hebben genoten van een prima truffelrisotto (€17,50) en een redelijke pinot grigio (€ 5,25 per glas). Het bestek kwam gelijk mee, maar om een servetje moesten wij expliciet vragen. Na de lunch bleven wij hangen. Wij wilden een fles wijn bestellen en een portie bitterballen, maar het leek wel of het personeel een tijd lang niet onze kant op wilde kijken, naar onze tafel met lege glazen. Wel werd veelvuldig het mobieltje geraadpleegd. Toen de wijn en de bitterballen werden bezorgd, kregen wij weer geen servetje. Het zijn lieve mensen, maar het zit kennelijk niet in hun systeem om rond te kijken en scherpte in hun werk te brengen. Vlak voor ons vertrek was er een wisseling van de ploeg en toen kregen wij wel een vlotte en alerte dame in de bediening: wat een verschil! Dat maakt uit of je bij deze zaak wel of niet een keer terugkomt. Er is dus op personeelsgebied nog flink wat werk aan de winkel! Wij vonden de ongevraagde videoreclame boven het toilet/urinoir overigens irritant.

Just a good location to have a drink and something to eat. Yesterday we sat in the brasserie, less stiff than the main hall. A nice extra on the menu is the pasta. Then they come along with a large parmesan into which you put the pasta warm and get the flavor from it. I personally had vitella tonato (great!) and the duck breast. I would recommend both. Add Pinot Noir and enjoy your meal. We had a Filipina who spoke good Dutch as waiter. A winner!

Had drinks and stayed for a snack. Food was good, partly so was the service. Needed some patience. However, if people turn their eyes when asking a simple question, the fun is quickly lost. It was also not mentioned that the table water that was served as tap water cost 3.75 per carafe. On a large bill for drinks and food from a group, it is surprising that this was charged without reporting it
