The food is excellent, and the drinks are excellent too. However, we had an unpleasant experience today with the service of a young, blond employee. There were four of us, including two dogs, so we needed a table outside by the wall, which had just become available. However, two other people were given priority over us, even though they were already seated at their table, and were given a table for four. Since we were also waiting for the people who had gotten up, we left after the two other people were given priority and the waiter offered no solution after we spoke to him. From a business perspective, this makes absolutely no sense for the restaurant! They lost four customers, moved two people to a table for four, and left a table for two empty and unused. What a shame!

The food was good for the price; I'm not sure about a few things, whether they were pre-made, but everything tasted good. The staff were very friendly, even though it was sometimes stressful with the crowds. There's nice outdoor seating with a slightly elevated position overlooking the pedestrian zone. We'll gladly come back.

Restaurant located in the heart of the central pedestrian and shopping area with a lovely view of the pedestrian zone. The outdoor seating area is sheltered from the wind by glass panels. Both the interior and exterior are very attractively designed. Our food was beautifully presented. While it tasted good, it didn't particularly impress us. The service was very attentive and friendly.

I really enjoy a good salad. And it was delicious here! We asked for fries on the side, and that was possible. A nice, refreshing ginger drink to go with it. Very friendly service. Food arrived quickly. Clean toilets. Toys available for the children. Top notch.

Delicious food, we had burgers, Mexican fries and flatbread… Top-notch service!

From the menu, we chose the medium Angus steak with peppercorn sauce, and my partner ordered the chicken burger. The wait staff was friendly, cheerful, and quick. Fries were served with the meal. The chicken burger was a major disappointment. It was made from minced chicken that had been pressed far too firmly. It was one dry piece of meat, a shame. The Angus steak, on the other hand, was perfectly cooked medium and was delicious. The fries were nice and crispy, exactly how fries should be.

I usually only leave reviews when I really like something, but I have to complain here: when we're in Domburg, our kids stop by every day for sundaes or milkshakes, and they are delicious and not expensive! BUT: the service is never friendly – ​​although a smile never hurt anyone! And: recently, the milkshake has been served in a thick plastic container with an aluminum lid! Completely environmentally friendly! That's why only 3 stars.

Delicious soft serve ice cream with a crispy waffle cone! We went for the biggest one and it is definitely worth the money! It might not look that big in the photo, but you get a lot of soft serve for your money! The nostalgic chocolate, which you can hardly find anywhere anymore, makes it complete for us! Wonderful after a day at the beach.

What a fantastic experience! If I could have given 6 stars, I would have done so without a doubt. The meat was truly perfectly prepared: so tender that it literally fell off the bone. Every bite was full of flavor, and you can taste that the cooking is done with passion and care. The dessert was also a delicious conclusion to a wonderful meal. The food was fresh, absolutely delicious, and the portions were a good size. If you have a hearty appetite, three courses are definitely enough. The staff was very professional and polite, and spoke at least Dutch and English, but also understood every word of German. They could have walked a step slower, though. :) The atmosphere was very cozy. We were seated right on the open portal doors, so we were both inside and outside. A little more space at the table and it would have easily earned five stars for ambiance. We'd love to come back again!

We decided to try something new and ordered two sundaes, paying €11 (one with caramel sauce and one with a stroopwafel), and received two miniature cups, one with a little caramel sauce and the other with a few stroopwafel pieces. Absolutely overpriced. For comparison, the largest cone with soft serve and even toppings costs less. So, in short: if you're happy to pay more for less ice cream and product, then by all means, order a sundae. And if you enjoy being ripped off, then go for it too :).

That was the worst kibbeling we've ever eaten in the region. The service was terrible to boot.

Always a treat: kibbeling with fries. The kibbeling is so juicy and perfectly seasoned. I can also recommend the Iced Matcha Latte Strawberry! Friendly staff, the food arrives quickly.

We had a very delicious meal and drinks, the waiter was funny and very friendly, and at the end we had great fun with the free photo booth and were allowed to take the pictures with us as souvenirs.

I had a small container of kibbeling and thought, "Wow, 8.00 euros is really a lot," but when I got the container, there was really a lot in it and it was also really flavorful; it was nice and crispy and the fish was nice and tender. I really enjoyed the container of kibbeling and please, no hate towards Karin because she is a sweet, hard-working woman who wants the best for you!

We've been to Domburg far more than 15 times. However, the restaurant's somewhat gloomy exterior always deterred us. Today, we were "perhaps" persuaded to go in... and we were absolutely thrilled! The food (three different fish dishes) was delicious. Cooked to perfection... and the side dishes were tasty! The portions were also generous. The atmosphere was pleasant... we felt welcome at all times, and the friendly and attentive service was truly noteworthy! Absolutely perfect! In our opinion, the "Red Lion" deserves a much higher rating. It can not only compete with the "big" restaurants in Domburg, but truly surpass them!!! We were extremely pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back. Hence this heartfelt review! Thank you!!! Great team!!!

The food (schnitzel) was disappointing. In my opinion, it had nothing to do with culinary skill. The service was very inattentive. We were very annoyed and certainly won't be coming back.

This review is difficult for me to write. The food is the best thing about the restaurant; the kitchen staff clearly know what they're doing. The service, however, is atrocious. We went twice, and even though the place was far from full, it took 20 minutes to get a menu. This continued throughout the evening. They were also completely inflexible when it came to making changes. I expect more from restaurateurs who genuinely want to offer hospitality. The ambiance, with its play area, is more like a daycare center.

We've been going to Zeeland for many years and De Roode Leeuw is always a favorite. The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly, and our Bernese Mountain Dog was always welcome.

I picked up fries and snacks, the selection is poor. The ordering computer is still there from the coronavirus era, in the sun, so you can barely see what you're typing. The staff is yelling at an older couple who understandably don't quite understand the ordering computer. Next time I'll drive to Oostkapelle for fries.

The food is really good. But it's not cheap.

Two years ago, we discovered this restaurant while spending a day in Zeeland with friends. This year, we're on vacation in Kortgene and drove all the way to Domburg specifically for this restaurant. Why? You might think... For the freakshakes. Our kids absolutely love them! A milkshake completely decorated with all sorts of treats. But it's not just the freakshakes that are recommended. They have a varied menu and a fantastic interior! The slightly elevated terrace is also a wonderful place to enjoy the sun and all the delicious food they have. So, a big 5 stars from us!

When we politely asked for a table, we received a very unfriendly response. We didn't eat or drink anything there.

The mussels on the terrace were delicious! A major drawback was that smoking was taking place at all the tables around us (even while we were eating). Smoke was literally blown into our food, which left a nasty aftertaste. I really don't think this is acceptable these days, especially not with young children at the table. We really need to raise awareness about this!

This is the third time I've eaten here. I have celiac disease and have to follow a gluten-free diet. The kitchen and staff are knowledgeable and will even convert gluten-containing dishes to gluten-free. Before anything is served, they check the menu—for example, the ice cream was listed as gluten-free. The kitchen checked and found that the new product contained gluten. So, after consulting with them, it was replaced. The food is super delicious, arrives hot at the table, and is beautifully presented. We'll be back next time we're in Domburg.

A truly beautiful restaurant on the main artery of Domburg. We've never been to Domburg before and chose this restaurant based on its appearance. We haven't regretted it. We've rarely experienced such friendly and courteous service. And, above all, attentive. The chef also seems to have mastered his craft. Everything was delicious and the portions were very generous. The prices are completely reasonable. In any case, you can eat well here, drink well, and watch the crowd. If you're in Domburg, you should definitely stop by. It's worth it.

I only went to the takeaway place to the right of the restaurant. It was expensive, unappetizing, and unfriendly. I liked the ordering machine, easy to understand, but a bit impersonal. The staff aren't great at squabbling with other people; no friendly words, no "hello," no "your food is coming soon," or even a simple goodbye. The food was okay, but nothing more. And a croquette for €4.30. I was there for the last time.

What happened to the soft serve? It was a tiny amount, and it was completely watery. The quality has deteriorated. Zero creaminess and zero flavor.

Don't make this mistake! After the (correct) decision has been made for a schnitzel (mushroom cream sauce with it is also the correct option), the next question arises: 200g or 400g? Even if you're not a glutton, 200g isn't doing you any favors. With such a delicious schnitzel, no one in their possession likes to stop eating after 200g!
