Delicious fresh warm apple pie with whipped cream and good coffee.

The staff constantly stares into an endless void. They take absolutely no initiative to do their jobs. Are these people even alive, or are they poorly programmed robots? Orders are being made incorrectly. I've been waiting half an hour for a very simple snack. Worst restaurant experience in years.

I'd like to start on a positive note: what a beautiful conservatory! Regarding the catering area: There were more staff than customers at the time, but unfortunately, that didn't mean the order processing went smoothly. After finally contacting one of the staff, the order (lemonade, iced tea, banana cake, nachos, bread with dip) seemed to have gone through correctly. Luckily, we received the drinks and the banana cake immediately, even though the banana cake looked suspiciously like carrot cake. After about 30 minutes, we went to the counter to inquire about the other food. After another 10 minutes of watching five people carefully avoid eye contact, we finally managed to contact someone again. This person was able to prepare our food immediately, so we could finally continue our journey. Don't go here for: A. A quick bite B. Excellent hospitality C. Logical catering procedures Do go here for: The penguins! Cute birds! They walk so funny. And don't forget to bring a currant bun and a carton of apple juice!

Imo the best cafe in the zoo. But often closed and I think menu shrank since the last time I was here

It's a nice initiative, but the place is almost never open...at least when I often show up there at the end of the day. It also surprises me because almost every old building on the grounds now only offers additional food and beverage options. Recently, the old Pigeon House was one of them...while the number of animal species on offer is rapidly declining, the food and beverage options are increasing proportionally, and the park is starting to resemble an amusement park more and more, which is a real shame. I like the location itself, lots of light and a quiet setting, with the Chimps just around the corner. During a storm not so long ago, a huge tree blew down in that exact spot, damaging the chimpanzee enclosure, among other things. I can't imagine that happening while I happen to be in the Serre. Of all the nearly ten food and beverage options available, this is the best. If only it were open more often...

If I could give less than a single star for service I would. We were here previously and also did not revieve our full order and on both occasions had to wait ages for a simple capaccino. It seems nothing has changed since we were here last year. For the most expensive capaccino I've seen in Amsterdam you'd expect more

Overly expensive and terrible service. Last time we came here they forgot to prepare my wife's food, and after waiting several minutes, we had to remind them of that. This time they complely forgot to make our drinks, and again had to remind them about our order... Why take orders if you need people to remind you what was ordered?

Absolute chaos on a Monday at 2 pm for some reason. Massive line. Brand new person on the cash register who struggled through every order. Was told they were out of multiple items (mushroom pita, salad) from the daily specials, only to see them all served to people who ordered 15 minutes after us. Waited for 25 min for coffees we ordered and paid for, they never made until we asked them to. Paid 6,50 for some stale nachos. A lame experience at an otherwise beautiful zoo.

I ordered a hot chocolate, they served me a glass of hot milk with 2 cm of chocolate syrup for €425. Cafe in a zoo where they refuse to heat baby food...

Long wait to order, 1 dish took a little longer and was completely ignored when it was ready. Just put the buzzer down and took it away. Not everything on the menu was available, but what was there was good to eat.

Its ok, cake was decent, we paid more than we should have because the price list was not correct?

Went there on a busy Sunday afternoon. Took a very long time to order and get food which sadly didn't live up to our expectations at all. The chef's special ( a chickpeas cauliflower dish with a side of bread) was flavourless. The filled pita was super soggy from all the sauerkraut and yoghurt sauce and again not big on flavour. The cheesecake was quite nice. Also they didn't have any high chairs so had to give lunch to our baby in the stroller. Went there only after reading rave reviews about the food but was really disappointed!

Unfortunately it was closed during our visit.

There was nothing left at half past twelve. And lunch was not allowed yet. It was way too expensive, 26 euros for 4 apple juice and 2 red velvet.

Good food! Probably the best place in the ZOO, although the smell from the penguins is average for eating. You can sit a little out of the way. Good coffee, nice place.

Great quality and delicious vegetarian food in a cozy atmosphere 🌱- really amazing to get such delicious meals in a Zoo! Also gluten-free options on the menu (eg soup / or sometimes meal of the day - both were great!)

Absolutely excellent. Nice service, nice environment and excellent food. No bluffs that you usually find in a zoo.

Delicious lunch with a delicious lentil soup with so many flavors, I think it is the tastiest lentil soup ever. Furthermore, delicious roasted vegetables and very tasty filled pitas. In short, if you are in Artis, this is a must. Or even a reason to go to Artis.

Wonderful place surrounded by greenery and almost among the animals. I'm not vegetarian but I didn't miss meat at all.

Everything, but everything is vegan or vegetarian, is just shoved down your throat, fine if that is offered, but also include meat items..

This is one of the best places to eat good food. I did an internship here for six months with a great group of people and a great chef. This slice will always have a good place in my heart 😁

One of Amsterdam's hidden gems: the chef here deserves a Michellin star for his truly inspired vegan and veggie dishes. Tucked away inside the zoo his prices are ridiculously cheap.

Lovely place to drink a hot chocolate and special coffee!! It was delicious 🤤 the chef prepared his own coffee liquor!! He also mentioned the hot chocolate has his own chocolate syrup that he makes with special cacao. Great drinks!

Nice cafe inside Artis Zoo. Limited menu, but very tasty soup.

Ik raad de bananenbrood hier af. De uitzicht op de penguïns is wel leuk.

Love this place; always having vegan/glutenfree nachos & homemade lemonade here ❤ I recommend the ice coffee as well 👍🏻
