Cozy location, friendly staff, and the food is fantastic. You really get your money's worth. I'd say: go and experience it for yourself.

Cozy restaurant with an inviting terrace overlooking the water. Located just off the main square of Wijk bij Duurstede. A warm welcome from a friendly young lady. Relaxed atmosphere. Ordered coffee and soup, which tasted excellent. Highly recommended!

Run by a friendly couple of entrepreneurs who take excellent care of the quality of the delicious food and drinks on the terrace by the water or on the road to the center of Wijk bij Duurstede. Definitely recommended to eat spare ribs or tender satay.... and many more dishes from the chef. A household name in this historic city of Wijk bij Duurstede.

Friendly staff in a cozy cafe! The menu is modest. The smoked salmon sandwich was tasty, just what you would expect the taste to be. The house cat also came by during dinner, which is not unusual given the reactions.

We were in Wijk for 4 days until Duurstede. From the first to the last evening we had dinner at De Veldpoort. We have rarely experienced such warm hospitality and such good food. The innkeepers and all the staff were super friendly and quick. The food was excellent, many thanks to the chef and his team. The prices were reasonable and the portions were plentiful. We felt very comfortable with Melissa and Willie and would have liked to go to them more often, but unfortunately our vacation was over. Many thanks to the team at De Veldpoort. We recommend it without reservation.

Take shelter from the rain and go inside for a glass of mint tea. Friendly greeted by an enthusiastic employee, we decided to have lunch and we enjoyed it immensely. My husband had an egg roll with 3 eggs, I had an Italian roll with beef carpaccio. Wow, the sandwich was deliciously crispy and well topped with Carpaccio! Would love to come back again

De veldpoort vooraan wijk bij Duurstede is echt een aanrader zit op een toplocatie. Sfeer een 10 dit door het mooie oude pand en zeker de mensen.

Kwamen onverwacht omdat we op doorreis waren mochten even aan de bar zitten en binnen 5 minuten was er een tafel vrij we hebben heerlijk gegeten echt een aanrader

Sfeervol restaurant met eenvoudige doch smaakvolle gerechten. De spareribs zijn van sublieme kwaliteit ! En dan hebben ze ook nog een bierkaart met veel kwalitatief hoogwaardige Belgische bieren. Uitstekende prijs/kwaliteit verhouding.

Super lekker gegeten, goede sfeer en echt aandacht voor de gast! En….. waar maak je nog mee dat je bloemen krijgt als je jarig bent☺️.

Zijn verwezen naar grieks rest MAZI MAS. De veldpoort was vol, en we hadden niet gereserveerd. Jammer maar hun verwijzing was zeker een topper! Bedankt!

Op het terras leken alle tafeltjes gereserveerd. De bordjes stonden op tafel maar er stond een afspraaktijd bij, beschikbaar tot 18.00 uur of 19.00 uur. Dat vond ik heel fijn. We hebben dus een heerlijk biertje gedronken en een bitterballetje gegeten.
