The food here was delicious, and the terrace was lovely.

We stopped here for a short visit. During our walk around town, this cozy restaurant caught our eye. The staff was very friendly (the waitress also spoke English and German), and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Highly recommended.

This spot in the middle of the beautiful town of Wijk bij Duurstede is highly recommended. They have so much choice here for both lunch and dinner. The atmosphere when you sit on the terrace is amazing and very beautiful to experience. You do need to make a reservation here if you want to eat inside.

What a nice place, right in the middle of Wijk bij Duurstede. It’s going to be 36 degrees today, so we didn't feel like cooking. We cycled to the Stadsbrasserie. A nice spot with an outdoor terrace. Today, Wednesday, there is a market until 12 o'clock. We sat in the shade of the brasserie and both ordered a salad: carpaccio and goat cheese. They tasted great! The staff is very friendly. The only downside: three ladies and a child were sitting next to us. The ladies were smoking...

Dorestad, the former name of Wijk bij Duurstede, is an excellent place to have lunch, dinner, or simply enjoy a drink. The dishes are delicious, the wine is good, there is a good selection of snacks, the terrace can be heated with infrared lamps, and the service is attentive and friendly. The price-quality ratio is favorable. There is a large free car park within a 200-meter walk.

During a strenuous bike ride (33C), we ended up at this fantastic spot in the atmospheric old town. The coffee was just as it should be, the apple pie artisanal 👌🏻, and the service very friendly. When we asked if we could perhaps get a Spezi in this heat, the response was immediately enthusiastic, and this refreshing mixed drink was in front of us in no time 🙏🏻

Dinner early, because we had a bit of a bike ride afterwards! The kitchen was up and running at 5:00 PM sharp. Had a delicious meal in the still quiet restaurant. We sat inside, though, due to the strong breeze. The service was very polite and also very friendly. A place to remember!

Had an excellent meal (including perfect rabbit satay); it can safely be stated that Dorestad is currently the best choice in terms of price/quality at Duur bij Wijkstede, while the quality itself would be a good reason. The service was also excellent, by the way.

The atmosphere is great, and the service is friendly, but inexperienced. The wait was unacceptably long: even the menu took ages, and the food took almost an hour after ordering, even though the restaurant was largely empty. Drinks arrived more quickly, although €5.50 for a non-alcoholic beer is very expensive. The food is okay, but the prices are high for a village brasserie (burgers or pork satay start at around €18.50). Conclusion: not recommended.

The prices are fine, but if you order salmon, for example, you'll think it came from the freezer. DO NOT order papardelle. Don't do it! Absolutely don't. You'd be better off giving that €18.50 to a homeless person. You'll definitely be happier that way!

You'll immediately feel welcome thanks to the friendly service. The food is served quickly, and the café/restaurant has a cozy atmosphere. Excellent! Free parking is available at the mill and the harbor. It's about a 5- to 10-minute walk. Plenty of options for food. You can have lunch and dinner here. There are vegetarian options! As shown in the photo. There are plenty of different options for drinks. Soft drinks, coffee, water, or alcohol for those who prefer it.

Today, August 10th, was a beautiful day. I ordered soup from Dorestad, and to my surprise, it came in a cappuccino cup with a very large plate underneath. And then the price! I'd say keep it up, but no more Dorestad for me!

Nice place to have a drink on a cozy terrace with a beautiful view of the church. In addition to drinks, I only had fried chicken pieces that were very tasty, but the menu for dinner looked good! Staff very helpful and cordial!! Will definitely come back!!!

Diner was goed. Broodplank vooraf is lastig inschatten qua hoeveelheid (tip restaurant: geef aan voor hoeveel personen, dus of voor 1 / 2 personen of meer is!) en 2 st was nu meer dan eerder (en duurder? dat weet ik niet meer, maar € 7 is wel prijzig), twee is best veel voor 2 personen, enne... helaas met vreemde stukken "stam" in de kruidenboter ... dun maar van bijna ruim 1 cm lang dus in de kruidenboter, vreemd. Geen reactie, zelfs geen vraag bij uitnemen (gesmaakt/OK?) , terwijl duidelijk zichtbaar was dat we iets aan de kant gelegd hadden, dus reactie was op prijs gesteld. Schnitzel was boven verwachting goed, top dus. Dagmenu vis was witte+groene asperges met zalm (naar keuze > of beenham). Helaas groene asperges iets te lang afgesneden (hout aan onderkant) en zalm bleek gerookte zalm. Dat is ook prima, maar zeg dat dan - ik verwachtte gebakken zalm, was toch ff een kleine domper, want zalm en gerookte zalm is in mijn beleving echt iers anders (gemeld, LET OP: zeer goed opgepakt en zou bij presentatie aan tafel aangepast worden, dat waardeer ik zeer). Niet alle garnering vis was qua versheid van vandaag (of gisteren, soms geel en duidelijk niet vers/soms zelfs enigszins snotterig). Geen reactie bij afhalen, aan rand van bord duidelijk zichtbaar gelegd... Al-met-al zeker niet ontevreden, gastvrouw zeer vriendelijk, smakelijk, maar dus toch echt wel paar verbeterpunten. Vorige keer was op aantal punten echt beter.

Have been here twice now to have lunch in this fantastic 'museum village'. Delicious food with friendly staff. As it should be, but nowadays other tents increasingly deviate from this in a negative sense. But not here!

There is a very pleasant atmosphere! Good, excellent, enthusiastic, hard-working staff. They are very attentive and keep a close eye on whether you want another drink. Excellent menu! There was a bit too much cheese sprinkled over the carpaccio. The parsnip soup was delicious, as were the shrimps. Main course satay delicious. The salmon was fine, the risotto was a bit too much, but tasty. Wide choice of desserts. Free parking in the large parking lots just outside the center. Less than a 5-minute walk. You can also drop people off at the door and there is a disabled parking space nearby.

Had a nice bite to eat after an afternoon of blues. It was busy, but there was still plenty of room upstairs. Food and service excellent, and nice and fast. Only the stale smell that resembled that of a dishwasher was a bit of a shame.

I ate a steak and my wife's ravioli. Steak was too tough for me and the ravioli was delicious but far too little! 75 € was already sporty!

Good service, super kids friendly (they give a coloring page with puzzles + special kids plate) great location, good food and cold beer. I just didn’t like the meat of the kids plate.

Well, we are getting old and where has the straight forward owner of yesteryear gone and a good plate of food at a reasonable price!? Not much imagination for food now, but tastes differ and the weather was good including the nice service. Maybe use a little less salt here and there......check the toilets in between, but the fries were cooked well......Unfortunately no surprises to report.

Gezellig terras, aardige bediening. Niks mis mee. Vaker bezocht maar het diner wil daar niet lukken. Ooit best goed gegeten maar hoorde later dat de “ kok” niet was komen opdagen ( tijd terug) Het lijkt meer op de hobby van iemand die denkt te kunnen koken. Hopelijk komt er een keer een echte kok. Het eten is in vergelijk met andere plekken goed geprijsd maar dat moet dan niet zeggen dat vis droog is, of te vet, risotto niet herkenbaar is , salade met hele grote stukken onrijpe tomaat met hard eraan, dooie sla ……. Maar t blijft er wel gezellig.

We hebben hier goed gegeten. Vooraf een Thaise kippensoep, een ruime saté en dorade en een kaasplankje toe. Zo ook het lokale blondbier geproefd. De bediening was vriendelijk.

Wij kwamen hier vroeger vaak, we waren in Wijk en zagen dat Dorestad nog steeds bestond. Positief beginnen. Personeel is echt goed. Vriendelijk en snel. Verder vonden wij het tegenvallen. Behoorlijk aan de prijs voor de kwaliteit die op tafel wordt gezet. We begonnen met koud droog brood waarvan na het snijden meer kruimels overbleven dan brood. Dit is voor ons al vaak de waarschuwing dat we er niet teveel van moeten verwachten want hoe moeilijk is het om een vers warm broodje op tafel te zetten? Voorgerechten van goedkope kwaliteit. Geen echte ossenhaas carpaccio maar een goedkopere groothandel versie. Wel met veel lekkere kaas en truffel mayonaise wat de slechte kwaliteit van het vlees enigszins compenseert. Saté was voor varkenshaas echt te doorbakken en daardoor droog. Pindasaus wel echt lekker. Het dessert hebben we maar overgeslagen. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Het standaard adres voor een betrouwbare maaltijd als je even niet zelf wil koken. Sinds enige tijd is het interieur vernieuwd en deze lokatie is er zeker van opgeknapt. Mooi en efficiënt resultaat. De kaart is als voorheen, simpel en kort. De carpaccio heeft een wel heel bijzondere uitvoering, maar is best smakelijk, zij het dat ik er wat brood bij verwacht had. Wat echter onveranderd is, dat is het kartelmes dat bij een steak wordt geserveerd. Onbegrijpelijk bij de goede kwaliteit vlees die we voorgeschoteld krijgen. Het is alsof de kok zegt: "mijn bereiding laat te wensen over, maar met deze zaag heb je mogelijk succes". Zonde en echt onnodig, mijn bestelling was van hoge kwaliteit en een scherp mes had bijgedragen aan een nog betere beleving. Mijn advies, vervang aub uw zagen door een goed steakmes zodat uw cuisson op waarde gewaardeerd kan worden.

We were there for the first time in Wijk bij Duurstede. Address chosen via the internet. That was certainly not a bad choice. On Monday evening, nice and busy. Nice and very attentive service. And delicious food on your plate. Everything was good. For us, Dorestad remains a very good choice and we can certainly recommend it.

After the very successful renovation, renewed acquaintance with the restaurant. The entourage and table setup is perfect. Dinner is very tasty, only the dessert was tasty but very minimal and that for €8.50. A bit disappointing.

We zijn hier zaterdagavond geweest. De door ons gereserveerde tafel was helaas niet beschikbaar. Na lang aandringen kregen we een bartafel toegewezen. Niet echt comfortabel. Het eten was lekker, wel wat weinig groenten bij het hoofdgerecht. Al met al een beetje teleurstellend

Splinternieuw gerestaureerd restaurant op de markt in Wijk bij Duurstede. Ik heb daar een prima kopje cappucino gedronken. Restaurant ademd een gezellige sfeer uit Zeker een bezoek waard.

Lekker eten, goede bediening, fijne atmosfeer. Klein puntje van kritiek: wat een ballenmuziek. Als ik Ed Sheeran en Sam Smith wil luisteren, zet ik Skyradio wel aan. De mensen tegenover ons hoorde ik nog beteuterd zeggen: ‘alleen het laatste nummer was leuk’. Verder alles top hoor, we komen gerust weer eens terug.

Heerlijk staartstuk gegeten en een heerlijke Irish coffee toe. De bediening was goed en vriendelijk en gaf een goede uitleg wat ze serveerden. Komen zeker terug als we in de buurt zijn.

Leuke bistro met een leuke kaart. Voor een lekkere bistro hap ben je hier aan het juiste adres met een leuk terras midden in pittoresk Wijk bij Duurstede.

We zaten boven het is daar erg gehorig vooral met hoorapparaten niet fijn, ik ga er niet meer zitten.

Altijd leuk als fietsstop. Je zit heerlijk in het centrum wat ook erg leuk is om te bekijken. Binnen is helemaal gerenoveerd. Super aardige bediening.
