Delicious dinner highly recommended

Very nice atmosphere and fantastic fish dishes. The sushi is among the best I've ever eaten. The prices are reasonable and not overpriced.

Food was good, but not very special. Service bad. They didn't have a catch of the day. We thought that was special in a fish restaurant. They did have a whole menu, but we were there for lunch so we didn't have that. When they asked what we wanted to drink, and we said water, they immediately responded with surprise "no wine"?! No thanks, we said. Since then, the waiter in question has ignored us. A friendly lady took over, all compliments to her. You can clearly feel that if you don't take wine and/or a menu, you don't "count". Food was good, but not spectacular. Shrimp croquettes hardly had any shrimp in them and the sushi falls apart completely.

Generally, prices for fish dishes are comparatively significantly higher. But that's also the case at all other shops near the beach.

I was in Domburg 30 years ago, ate on the beach, fresh Tongue, great experience. And now in De Visbar. It is a shame to have to conclude that a restaurant with this dish costing almost 40 euros is completely out of line. Sole from the freezer, that's 1 (don't you have to announce that?), fish compact in texture, not too much flavor. Garni with samphire (lukewarm), an asparagus stalk (cooked and lukewarm) and a ball of cold, clayey mashed potatoes. What a disappointment. Very attentive waitress who offered me coffee and that I could have had something else. So I should have done...

Excellent establishment where we had dinner, then lunch. Fresh products, original and delicious dishes. Impeccable service, and very kind staff.

My absolut favorite place to eat when in Domburg. The food is fresh and beautifully presented. The staff is friendly and attentive. We’ve been coming here regularly for years now. A visit in Domburg is only half as good without having some food here.

Excellent dorade, shrimp croquette, and shrimp/salmon/tuna salad! They could be a bit more generous on the fries, though. The staff was amazingly helpful!

My wife and I tried an oyster here for the first time, and it is not my favorite food, but I didn't think it was that bad either, otherwise we had a very tasty meal here.

Great and recommended. From a selection of mixed oysters to sole and sushi, it tasted good. The sweet and sour taste of the sole fell by the wayside, but it still tasted good. Excellent selection of oysters was completely convincing and the sushi was great. The furnishings and lighting were atmospheric and pleasant. The Domburgsch Blond beer has a well-balanced taste. The idea with the little port wine tasting was nice, I wouldn't have expected it there. The staff was friendly and clearly enjoyed their work, and a big thank you for that. Important: without a reservation it will be difficult to get a seat at peak times. So go to the store and make a reservation for the evening.

Top food with excellent no-nonsense service

Excellent food and very friendly service. Were in Domburg for the first time. It should definitely be reserved. On our second visit everything was pre-booked. We were lucky that something became available at short notice.

Whenever we are in Domburg we have lunch here. We are always satisfied. The staff is very nice, the food is delicious (including the children's meals) and the decor is nice. We can only recommend it.

Everything perfect! Very courteous and friendly service, great ambience and above all, great food. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right. Tip: even if it's often difficult to get a table... it's worth sticking with it. All thumbs up… Full recommendation!!!

Ich würde es einfach als perfekt bezeichnen. Diesmal war ich allein unterwegs, und habe recht kurzfristig noch einen Platz gegenüber der Küche bekommen. Zusammenfassend sei gesagt: die Location ist cool, das Servicepersonal super freundlich und bemüht und vor allem ist das Essen echt klasse. Daher auf jeden Fall versuchen, einen Tisch zu bekommen… auch wenn es evtl. mehrere Anläufe benötigt. Alle Daumen hoch… Top Empfehlung!

Really good oystersssss!! I love it!

Wir waren mehr als zufrieden. Es war ganz toll angerichtet und hat super geschmeckt. Sowohl das a la Carte Gericht als auch die Tagesempfehlung waren hervorragend. Endlich mal ein Fischrestaurant in dem es etwas anderes als den fettigen, frittierten Fisch gibt. Und das alles zu einem verhältnismäßig günstigem Preis. Warum es allerdings eine extra Portion Fritten mit Majo dazu gab haben wir, obwohl die ja lecker waren, nicht verstanden. Es hat halt irgendwie nicht dazu gepasst, schmälert unsere Bewertung aber in keinster Weise.

Immer noch das beste Restaurant in Domburg: Exzellenter Service, tolle Speisekarte, frische Fische und Meeresfrüchte vom Feinsten und eine gute Preisgestaltung. Das Ambiente ist modern und lebendig.

Update April 2025: Today we ate the excellent Fruit de mer. It was delicious and perfect. .......................... At lunchtime the salads and poke bowls are very tasty and reasonably priced.

We spent a wonderful evening here with delicious food and matching wine. We chose the catch of the day and were treated to gurnard fillets and delicious side dishes. That's how I imagine a wonderful evening. We'll be back. Addendum 2025 Great again. We're already looking forward to next year. 🤗

Very nice restaurant! Great food, top service and a fantastic ambience!

Wir kannten das Restaurant schon von früheren Besuchen. Diesmal hat es uns etwas enttäuscht. Die Speisen waren in Ordnung. Auch preislich war das Angebot angemessen. Die Atmosphäre lud nicht zum längeren verweilen ein, man hatte das Gefühl rasch möglichst viel Umsatz zu machen und dann Platz für die nächsten Kunden zu machen.

The food is truly delicious. Unfortunately, even a light eater won't be satisfied. We had the dish of the day and a sea bream. Both were almost 30 euros. At that price, I expect not to have to buy anything extra. The service was actually nice. But at the end, my jaw almost dropped. We paid around 64 euros for two small dishes and two drinks. I paid with a card and put 3 euros in the bowl. The waitress said something like, "Is that for all of us? We'll share it." I almost fell off my chair. Sorry, but that's unacceptable. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this restaurant. And I won't be going back. You have to accept that prices have risen exorbitantly everywhere. But here, it's assumed (of course, this is the case in many restaurants) that you order an appetizer and dessert to fill you up. Then we would probably have spent around 100 euros.

The heart of every restaurant review is of course the food - and here “De Visbar” was convincing across the board. The dishes are very tasty, rich and are attractively served. The service is very friendly, attentive and very accommodating. You can tell that customer satisfaction is important here. The cozy furnishings are stylish and the atmosphere is inviting. The toilets are clean. As soon as you enter you are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior is stylish, cozy and modern. For the quality offered at “De Visbar”, the price-performance ratio is absolutely appropriate. The prices are fair and moderate. You get excellent food and first-class service for your money here. Dogs are also welcome. Recommended.

Sehr schönes Lokal mit angenehmer Atmosphäre. Sehr professionelles Personal welches einen freundlich in Empfang nimmt. Interessante Speisekarte mit tollen Gerichten rund um den Fisch. Wir hatten eine Sushi &Sashimi Platte als Vorspeise. Sehr leckere Varianten auf dem Teller Als Hauptgang Surf &Turf mit Iberico und Tintenfisch. Lecker abgeschmeckt . Zum krönenden Abschluss eine Dessertvariation für 2 Personen. Absolute Empfehlung 💯

In diesem Restaurant bekommt Surf and Turf eine andere Bedeutung. Ich hatte Seeteufel und Chorizokroketten. Eine ganz hervorragende Zusammenstellung. Das Essen hatte 10 von 10 Sternen verdient. Preis-Leistung vollkommen in Ordnung. Jederzeit wieder.

Very good food at fair prices. Reservation is a MUST. If you want to have your plate full, you should go somewhere else, here it's the pleasure of the palate that counts. Friendly and accommodating welcome. The willingness of the waiters to listen. We ate finger food with an aperitif. Perfectly cooked langoustines and shrimp croquettes. I ate the catch of the day (the weever). My friend ate the cod. Both a plate full of flavors and the fish perfectly cooked. The wine was excellent. We came back the next day for the sole. Price/quality really good. A discovered gem where the chef can cook.

Not the first time we visit the Visbar. And of course there is a reason for that. The food here is so well prepared. Quality of the dishes is top. Hospitable employees who understand how to combine hard work and friendliness.

We ordered fruits de mer with lobster and a glass of champagne. Our children had a children's dish with salmon salad and fries. They quickly ate the entire salmon: it was super tasty! We didn't like our fruits de mer as much, especially because there was sand in the cockles and razor clams, which makes your teeth grind while eating. Very unfortunate! The mussels were super tasty. Therefore given three stars.

THE fish restaurant in Domburg - excellent, unique starters, main courses and desserts with perfect service in a pleasant atmosphere

Wonderful experience at De Visbar in Domburg On New Year's Eve we decided to go for an extended lunch at De Visbar, since dinner reservations were no longer possible anywhere. The last lunch spot at 2:30 PM turned out to be a bull's eye. We were kindly received, although our coats were not hung up - a small tip for improvement. The aperitif, a gin and tonic with house gin, was delicious and immediately set the tone. Beforehand I enjoyed a beautiful dish: grilled poulpo with avocado and black garlic, full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The main course, monkfish fillet in Manchego crumbs with chorizo ​​croquettes and a refined ajo Blanc, was simply excellent. All this was accompanied by a soft, tasty organic cava with beautiful bubbles. To finish I chose a light crème brûlée, a perfect balance between sweet and creamy. My wife chose the goat cheese mousse as a starter, followed by a bluefin toro tataki, and finished with a scroppino. She was also more than satisfied with the quality and presentation of each dish. Despite the crowds due to dinner preparations, the quality of the dishes remained excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. A fantastic experience and definitely recommended. We will definitely come back!

Heerlijke ervaring bij De Visbar in Domburg Met Oud en Nieuw besloten we uit te wijken voor een extended lunch bij De Visbar, aangezien een dinerreservering nergens meer mogelijk was. De laatste lunchplek om 14:30 bleek een schot in de roos. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen, al werden onze jassen niet opgehangen – een kleine tip ter verbetering. Het aperitief, een gin-tonic met huisgin, was heerlijk en zette meteen de toon. Vooraf genoot ik van een prachtig gerecht: gegrilde poulpo met avocado en zwarte knoflook, vol van smaak en perfect bereid. Het hoofdgerecht, zeeduivelfilet in manchegokruim met chorizokroketjes en een verfijnde ajo blanco, was simpelweg voortreffelijk. Dit alles werd begeleid door een zachte, smaakvolle biologische cava met mooie bubbels. Als afsluiting koos ik voor een luchtige crème brûlée, een perfecte balans tussen zoet en romig. Mijn vrouw koos voor de mousse van geitenkaas als voorgerecht, gevolgd door een bluefin toro tataki, en sloot af met een scroppino. Ook zij was meer dan tevreden over de kwaliteit en presentatie van elk gerecht. Ondanks de drukte vanwege de voorbereidingen voor het diner, bleef de kwaliteit van de gerechten uitstekend en het personeel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Een fantastische ervaring en absoluut een aanrader. Wij komen zeker terug!

We komen steeds terug op deze plek en dat is nooit een teleurstelling. Een heerlijke menukaart met zoveel heerlijke gerechten. Omdat we al een dag of vier best wel veel lekker aan het eten waren deden we het deze avond wat rustiger aan. Brood met makreeltappenade en een zalmtartaar als vooraf. Als hoofdgerecht catch of the day zeebaars. Heerlijk krokant gebakken met fijne garnering. Een heerlijke Weisburgunder zorgde voor een prettige combinatie met de gerechten. Een kopje thee als besluit van deze fijne avond. De Visbar blijft onze nummer 1 in Domburg!

Die Visbar war früher eine Bank für gutes Essen in Domburg. Leider wurden wir diesmal erstmalig enttäuscht. Der Service war durchschnittlich, der Wein wurde in unsauberen Gläsern serviert und das Essen war beliebig, ohne geschmackliche Besonderheiten. Mir scheint, es wird mehr Aufwand betrieben, die Gerichte fein anzurichten, was im Instagram-Zeitalter verständlich ist, als ein tolles Geschmackserlebnis zu bieten.

Delicious food. A restaurant where people are flexible. Friendly alert service. It sometimes seems like the same thing is on the menu, but it turns out that the menu is prepared in a completely different way.

Creative cuisine at star level. Both classic dishes, reinterpreted, as well as sushi & sashimi. I had Surf & Turf, really good. Very nicely presented - and you'll be full...so no big plates with little on them. There were also fries on the side. Wine also good, prices absolutely okay, especially for Domburg. Service very attentive.

Little food, expensive, overrated, do not accept advice, very young, inexperienced and closed-minded, bad service, They have no idea what a prawn is, they serve you crayfish, they have not been to a cooking school in their life.. I don't recommend it at all, expensive and bad service.

Nope, didn't work out for me... (to the Maître d') placing us next to the door with an empty restaurant 🤔 ? (to our waiter) eye contact would be nice, smiling would be nice to yourself AND customers ; quietly dressing up tables next to eating customers would be great 😃 (to the cook) there was something very wrong with those 🦀 claws and I find it hard to believe it was the "very special herbs and spices mix" (that's what I've been told) as it was just cold, mostly tasteless and the flesh was soft, mushy, soaked in some liquid and brittle. All FRESH crabs I've eaten had firm flesh, a bit bouncy when pressed.

It was a fantastic evening and we celebrated a 60th birthday. The service was very kind and all attention. Our dinner had a very high quality. Because it was not our first here, we can state that it is a secured high standard.

Don’t get me wrong, the food is very good but it also comes with a high price for which I would expect a bit more. Especially the environment is very busy - not cosy - which probably is the case due to the fact that the restaurant is pretty packed with tables. The service is soso - not bad and not great. But again, the food, especially the fish, of course, is very good and most likely the best in town.

We went to Visbar twice in quick succession. The quality as well as the prices are convincing across the board. The dishes were all very tasty and of high quality and freshness. We were particularly impressed by 'Surf and Turf' and the 'Sushi and Sashimi' offerings. The two visits impressed us with culinary delights and we were completely thrilled by what was on offer on the menu. It's a shame that there are no such delicious fish restaurants in our homeland. We would be happy to come back and can only warmly recommend the Visbar.

Today we tried the Visbar, the food (oysters, sushi/sashimi and the two surf & turf dishes were very good. Our service was exceptionally attentive with Dutch charm. There is a CremeBrulee Cappuchino - as dessert - not on the normal menu - definitely try it (€4.5) We immediately made another reservation.

A restaurant that we visit every time we visit Domburg. We have also celebrated several birthdays there. Great, atmospheric and simple furnishings. Very nice atmosphere and great friendly and courteous service with lots of tips and recommendations. I can only advise you to always ask if you are not sure. Very tasty wines, beers and other drinks are also offered. The fish dishes and seafood are second to none. Refined preparation. Everything is absolutely fresh and served to perfection. Great sauces and vegetable side dishes. The desserts and appetizers are also fantastic. I can also recommend the mussels, oysters and sushi variations.

Thai mussels and mini shrimp croquettes, delicious! Add a glass of dry white wine and a carafe of tap water. Kudos to the tap water, served chilled with ice cubes and a slice of lemon: more restaurants should do this!

We have been going to Visbar with great enthusiasm for many years. The quality of the food is consistently excellent, and new dishes are always surprising and a source of great pleasure. Great cuisine, nice service. What is extremely disturbing, however, is the increasing number of dogs of all sizes brought along. Probably nice and normal for dog owners, but perhaps annoying for others? Does that really have to be the case? Despite all tolerance: there are limits.
