Says open from 7am. Went there at 7.20am. Nothing was ready and staff were pretty rude and unhappy that I walked in at 7.20am

Conveniently located in Amsterdam Centraal station, this Belgium restaurant was where we got breakfast most mornings we were in Amsterdam. With a nice selection of breakfast options, and pastries, this became one of the constants on our trip.

Nice breakfast spot on the NE end of CS. Go to spot at the CS.

8+ euros for a small cappuccino and a microwaved “ham and cheese croissant” is really not ok. Save €6 and get a much better meal at Albert Heijn a few doors down Very disappointed

Ordered a cappucino, came very late due to unforeseen discussion between co workers. It's a station work fast. We missed our Pont. Cappucino came without foam. Price is too high. Concept is too socialist for this highly neoliberal place.

A sausijzenbroodje (Sausage in pastry) is something you can get anywhere in Amsterdam, and there is usually nothing you can say about it, but here (at the back of the train station) I was impressed. Flaky pastry that was actually flaky, instead of oily. I now want to go back and try their English or American breakfast, their large array of sandwiches. Nice people, nice place, and nice view of the river,

I go quite often, and to sit in is absolutely fine but they have a terrible system for To go coffees, there is almost always only one barista doing both to go and dine in coffees. Today I waited 15 minutes just to be acknowledged at the to go counter. I watched 3 people leave the queue because wait time was too long. Can be a really nice place with nice bakeries but they need to make a concrete system for Take away customers. And maybe hire an extra barista to do shots so the turnover is quicker.

Looks like a great place, a bit pricey. I ordered a chai latte. Very tasty; too bad it had a beer cap in it😦 How does that happen???

We went there twice and really enjoyed it. The breakfast was delicious. We would definitely come back.

Very bad coffee and impolite service. They have no idea about how to make a decent cup of coffee. Lady behind the counter was rude, i throwed the coffee away.

This place is in a very quiet part of the station. Right at the beginning of the IJ passage, a relaxing spot to enjoy a cup of coffee.

Great chill place in the station. Salmon Baguette was tasty and cappuccinos are perfect. Friendly staff and great service. They have a customer toilet as well which is not something common in the station for most places there. Complimentary little waffle adds a great touch as well.

The waiting time at the table to place the order is quite long. You have to look for the waitress to be noticed ;) We ordered coffee and muffins. The cookies turned out to be frozen inside!!! We asked for a replacement and got a new one... also with sparkling ice inside. I ate what was "warm", my partner left almost all of it intact... We didn't ask for another replacement, because it would probably be put back in the microwave, and that doesn't solve the problem. Tasty, strong coffee. Toilet available on site.

Ik ben zelf paar keer geweest, het was fijne rustige plek. Tot dat ik met met z’n tweeën komen. Ineens in achter grond harde muziek. Met beleefd gevraagd om de muziek wat zachter gezet kan worden zodat wij normaal gesprek kan voeren zonder te schreeuwen, antwoord ( engels sprekende) serveerster, no we can not do that. Oh fijn.. maar niet heus!!! Ik vraag beleefd om muziek wat zachter niet uit te zetten. Het is restaurant/cafe, geen discotheek… helaas!!!

If you can, choose elsewhere. We only went here because we were short on time to go elsewhere. Loud music. Service was slow and the waitresses were very unbothered by the customers, never said anything more than “ok” and then walking away. Touched our foods with their bare hands and then served it on napkins instead of plates? :s would never go back here..

The products are of excellent quality. However, the service is very long. Plan widely in your schedule

Pleasant staff, quick service, lovely food. Best hot chocolate in Amsterdam?! Yum! Sadly, though, no vegan options on either of our visits.

Ilusorio y el almuerzo arruinado, porque claramente pedimos un desayuno sin tocino, lo recibimos con tocino. Pedimos hacer uno nuevo, en este punto solo trajeron el plato de vuelta, quitaron el tocino y lo trajeron de vuelta un minuto después. Nos fuimos ya que este comportamiento es totalmente irrespetuoso, esperamos que esta revisión ayude a encontrar personal que realmente se preocupe y escuche respetando a los clientes (todos ellos).

Een yougurt met granola voor 11 euro, was neergekwakt in een bak, twee scheppen youghurt. Schandalig voor de prijs. Bovendien verveeld en ongemotibeerd personeel. Ik ga er niet meer heen.

I was drawn in by the food in the window, and was a little worried after checking the Google reviews, but was completely relieved when the food was delivered. The breakfast was delicious and the service was very friendly.

I worked at Centraal for a few months and Volklust was always my favourite place for a coffee or pastry - definitely the best quality in the station. Very friendly staff, varied menu and welcoming atmosphere.

The food and service is perfect. Eggs were done to perfection. The staff are friendly and attentive. The background music makes the atmosphere better than I would expect.

Nice cafe, friendly staff and good service. Nice and modern furnishings, with plenty of seating. The menu is excellent, well prepared dishes and beautifully presented. We will definitely come back to the nice cafe Volkslust in Amsterdam.

everything is great! Highly recommended are the bagel and the omelet with vegetables and the one with bacon. The smoothie rouge is also super delicious. the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. Of course it is a little more expensive, but it is also tasty and filling. ideal for breakfast or brunch.

Undercooked Paid €7.50 for a spinach feta twister and a chocolate chip cookie. The twister was undercooked on the inside. A bite of raw dough.

Sicuramente un posto accogliente dove fermarsi per fare una colazione dopo essere scesi dal treno o dalla metropolitana. I camerieri sono gentili e accoglienti. Ci sono diverse varietà di cibo, anche per chi vuole fare una colazione salata invece che dolce. C'è anche la possibilità di prendere il take away. Il prezzo è ragionevole, tenendo sempre in considerazione che ci troviamo ad Amsterdam.

Why does the avocado come out of the freezer and taste like vinegar? Don't eat this. And then ask 11 euros for it. What do you think about your customers? They have no taste...?!?!?!

I had an incredibly nice sandwich here. It was a bagel, mildly sweetened and i think it was corn based. It had some meat on it, with an extremely outspoken flavourl. It might have been smoked i dont quite know. Further on the staff was very helpful. The service was quick and it had a nice atmosphere.

Good spot for a hearty or light breakfast in Central Station. We were a group of 7, looking to run out of the rain. Enjoyed coffee and food at a fair price. Highly recommend.

Tastefully decorated, good music and delicious food while waiting for the train.

I was disappointed with the 'crispy bacon' listed on the menu, as it arrived undercooked and chewy. When I politely asked the chef if they could reprepare it to achieve actual crispiness, they declined. While the rest of my meal was satisfactory, the subpar bacon fell short of expectations. Considering the menu's explicit description, I hoped for a more accommodating response.

This concerns Volkslust Utrecht Centraal: Just had a very bad cup of coffee. Staff clearly did not receive proper instructions. I get coffee outside instead of at home to have a really good cup of coffee, and then this is very disappointing. Especially for an occasion that profiles itself as a specialty coffee shop.

The staff member was very impolite, and the place was poorly organized. You need to go to the takeout area to find out what cakes are on offer before ordering at the table.

I had decent hopes for this place. I tend to walk past it often on my way to work and it seems like there’s always a line up at the counter. The baked goods and bagel sandwiches seemed appealing. I came and sat in the dining are with a warm smile and observing the staff and clientele. The coffee was good and my bagel sandwich wasn’t very flavourful but the bagel bread was nice. Not worth the price to be honest. What really affected me was the way the staff were behaving towards the customers. Very passive aggressive energy and behaviour. I have worked for many years in hospitality and this just wasn’t chill even in a rush. You talk to your waitress and she looks in the distance past the glass windows and when we did the payment I tried to say something nice to her and she gave my this passive aggressive glance and walked off. The gentleman who possibly is the manager doesn’t explain properly how to seating works to an elderly couple that obviously were trying to better understand if they were to be seated or waiting for their waitress. He was actually frustrated with them. The gentleman doing the counter to go payments would roll his eyes now and again at people. Guys I get it you’re not the happiest to be there but come on now. Have some decency with the clientele and treat others the way you want to be treated or just change jobs if you hate it that much please I beg you. I will not be returning.

Para empezar, el diseño interior y el mobiliario eran realmente elegantes y hermosos. El entorno con vistas al canal era muy relajante. La comida era absolutamente deliciosa. De todos los restaurantes en los que he cenado en todo el mundo, este es el mejor. Muy recomendable. Pareja de Irlanda.

This place’s to go menu is ridiculously overpriced. Go to one of the Albert Heijn stores at the station for half price and Albert Heijn keeps baking their croissants fresh all day long.

Very friendly staff. Hands down the best cappuccino I have ever had ! Lovely smooth taste with a chocolate note. Also had a spinach pastry - very nice. Perfect for the comfortable train ride 😀

I had a latte macchiato and a chocolate croissant here, both of which were decent. My husband, however, had a cappuccino alongside a croissant which he found quite dry and stale.

The food is okay but the staff is beyond rude. Wouldn't recommend to stop here.

Very rude staff. I have travelled to many to countries and when I dine in I always ask for my coffee in a takeaway cup. I did ask for my coffee in a takeaway cup and she refused to do so, and advised to just have it when I leave. Her manner was very very rude. Before that incident I saw her smelling very closely two coffee mugs before serving them to customers which I think is a health hazard. Will never go back again.

An excellent breakfast before taking the train! The employees were also very pleasant.

Service is bad…. Very very bad. The male staff behind the counter preparing the coffee has problem. When asked him is there a toilet, he gave a look like what is wrong with you. And he answered ‘Yah’… without saying yes or no or point the direction. I have to ask follow up question, may I know where, he then point to the direction and said of course we have toilet…. The pancake is served without butter. When ask for butter, the reply is you pay 1€. Who serve pancake without butter huh. Also, we eat in and not take away, the waitress just serve the croissants with paper napkins and just leave it on the table. We have to ask her can she provide us with plate to place the croissants. She also serve me the pancakes without fork and knife. Terrible terrible service.

I went to Amsterdam on a trip from Japan. When I went there with my 11-year-old daughter on the evening of March 20th, the middle-aged female staff member was very kind. thank you! I definitely want to have a leisurely meal here the next time I visit. The cookies were very delicious.

Wow were we surprised by this. Absolutely delicious food and great range of Belgian beers too. If you have to wait for a train, then this is the place to go

Nice coffee shop, but very unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Told me they can not take any food orders at 7pm (only a drink), because they close in 15 minutes, when in fact the place closes at 8pm. Started sending customers away at 7:15pm. Not sure this is in the best interest of the chain/brand and several potential customers walked away very angry.

Rude service that doesn't want to work. Do something about it!

Waiters look away from customers to avoid serving. As a customer, you need to chase the waiter. If you succeed and place an order, you still have to struggle for payment. They waste 1 hour of your time for a 5 minute meal.

Zero customer service, ordered two drinks and tap water didn’t even come after we finished our food. I ordered mini American pancakes and they were cold. We wouldn’t visit again.

Wij hadden de kingbagel, die zoals later bleek nieuw op de kaart was. Een verse bagel met warme ham, gesmolten kaas, bbq saus en zoetzuur. Hij was heerlijk en een echte aanrader!

terrible staff! the staff and even the director talked to me like a dog! it was terrible ! never come here! there are evil people here! we ate croissants and drank fresh juice. We took coffee in a glass and took it with us on the table . Because of this, they tried to immediately kick us out and treated us rudely. They don’t like it when people drink from a take-away glass at the table! nightmare !

Borderline delusional prices. A cappuccino and a muffin 9.70 euros. Only 2 meters down in the station you can pay half of this price for the same food and better service. Conveniently, they also do not display prices so that tourists can get scammed 👍🏻 stay away!
