Small, cozy restaurant with a waterftont terrace. Excellent food, friendly, welcoming service, very reasonable prices! Serves lunch and dinner. A hidden gem! Highly recomend it!

A perfect spot for a drink or a cup of coffee at Eterij de Schalkse. We started with a drink. Then we ordered the sandwich platter, which we had to request ourselves. It took quite a while before it was served. It wasn't busy; including us, there were only ten guests there that evening. Finally, after a long wait, the main course was served. Ha, we thought, that would be a treat. Well, no way... Afterwards, the waitress asked if we enjoyed it. The chicken was hard and dry, looked dark, the side of the schnitzel was burnt, the fries were greasy and limp—in short, not very good... She mentioned it to the owner, and we were told he would make it again for us. We declined. As compensation, a free drink was offered, and we ordered coffee (not much can happen, right?). The lady who helped us did her best, but I can't say the owner did. We didn't see her again, and she didn't even show up when we left. The poor girl was completely on her own.

Sandwich zalm ging wel maar nogal smakeloos. Biefstuk puntjes in salade oneetbaar. 1 stukje, ja, hoe weet je anders of het smaakt. 2de uitgespuugd en bij teruggave op bord in servet aan serveerster meegegeven. Bij rekening werd de biefstuksalade berekend maar drankjes van de rekening afgetrokken. We namen daar geen genoegen mee. Eigenaar werd ronduit onbeschoft. “U heeft ervan gegeten.” Noemde ons asociaal. De eigenaar ziet er voor zijn functie van eigenaar ietwat shabby uit, heeft duidelijk problemen en dat is merkbaar. Het blijft een verrukkelijke plek daar, dat terras aan de Vecht. Hopelijk komt er snel een koper voor het te koop staande etablissement. Dan komen we graag terug. Maar nu maar even niet.

A lovely place to sit outside and watch the water sports go by. We had a simple lunch, which was excellent. I found the interior a bit dated, but the location and the view make up for it.

Great spot in Weesp on the water. Excellent food and excellent service! The staff was especially friendly and attentive!

Had dinner there tonight. We had ordered a bread board in advance. After half an hour still no breadboard. Bread platter came immediately with main course. When we said something about that, the waiter gave us a big beak. So the service is very rude. The advice was to dip the bread in the sauce! Afterwards, the waiter was gossiping about the event with other guests. So not recommended. We ate quickly, fed bread to the ducks on site and went elsewhere for dessert. The owner responded to my post, he wants to know who had the big mouth, it seems very strong to him, he writes. Owner was not present himself. It concerns the boy with curly hair! He thought we shouldn't complain so much because she had been working all day. And the girl advised us to dip our bread in the meat sauce. And went on gossiping. well..........

This beautiful summer evening we wanted to eat a schnitzel on the terrace. Discovered the terrace last month and had a great meal with nice service. Perfect location with relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately tonight a completely different experience. A relatively simple starter, the bread platter took a very long time and eventually it came together with the main course. It may happen and take a little longer, but there were not 100 people sitting on a terrace, but not with half a terrace, but that's besides the point. The reaction of the young lady and young gentleman servants was inappropriate. No awareness whatsoever of what service orientation is. Quite brutal too. In an average restaurant this would not be tolerated. The fact that you are not a hotel school employee graduate is another factor, but these types of comments made by this apparently new generation of employees are not correct. It's a shame that it is served by people with little passion and sense of reality. When the cat is away......Lesson 1 at the hotel school is; the atmosphere determines the taste. Unfortunately this did not work out for us on this evening. We are really not the most difficult, but this non-customer orientation "makes your jaw drop." It's a shame that such a beautiful and uniquely located and very original and personal eatery becomes unpopular in this way.

Relax on the terrace by the water

Great place where you can have a nice snack and drink when the weather is nice

A nice, cozy, small restaurant on the water in picturesque Weesp. Within sight of a fort of the Dutch Waterline. A nice start or end point of a walk across Weesp to Naarden, for example. You can expect the typical menu here, something for everyone, with fries or not. Friendly service and attentive.

Beautiful place next to the water. The food is AMAZING. From the salada, to the toast and even the schnitzel. Strongly recommend.

Locatie is geweldig, begin met een vies glas het eten was niet goed een biefstuk salade gegeten, biefstuk was goed de salade dreef in de soya saus , vriendin had sandwich zalm, deze was ook minimaal en er was geen salade bij. Sommige borden die voorbij kwamen zagen er goed uit . Had het idee dat ze niet zoveel zin in hadden.het staat ook te koop , je kan hier iets moois neerzetten!

This is an excellent restaurant. We arrived on a dull and damp day but, nevertheless, we had a very enjoyable lunch. The garlic soup was delicious, as was the seafood pasta. Service was prompt and friendly with an excellent Chardonnay on tap. The views along the canal will be much better on a Sumner's day. We shall be back!

We were lucky enough to be thee first guests of the day . ended up having a great conversation with the owner. We will be back for sure!!

Very nice location for a nice get-together with a spot inside but still on the water. Enjoyed the meal very much.

What a wonderful place. Nice lunch menu. For each his own. And you immediately feel at home because of the friendly service. We stayed much longer than we intended.

De Piña Colada is een must hier. Verder heerlijk genieten op het terras aan het water met lekkere happen.

Hier kann man super draußen sitzen. Wer hier 2 Stunden sitzt bekommt auf jeden Fall was zu lachen. Das es hier nicht sehr günstig ist, ist ja klar bei der Lage. Aber es ist sauber, das Personal sehr freundlich und das Bierchen schmeckt auch. Die Schnitzel sind die Besten in NL und in der Pfanne gebraten. Auch die Fritten und die Soße sind selbst gemacht. Mooi terras aan het water. Maar het eten is zeer matig. Pannenkoek verzadigd met oude olie. Ook biefstuksalade zeer matiget een ondefinieerbare saus.

Locatie is echt heel fijn, aan het water. Bediening is vriendelijk. Eten echt matig, veel gefrituurd. Wijn prijs/kwaliteit prima

Sehr gutes Essen, direkt an der Vecht, gute Atmosphäre

Na een dagje jeugdherinneringen ophalen in het mooie stadje Weesp streken we neer op het terras van dit restaurant. Het restaurant ligt pal aan de Vecht met aan de ene kant zicht op het witte bruggetje en de andere kant op de molens. We kozen allebei voor de Ibericorib. Het was heerlijk vlees en de groentegarnering paste er goed bij. Daarnaast kregen we nog een mandje heerlijke frieten met dito mayonaise. De bediening was vlot, personeel vriendelijk. Met een zonnetje erbij was het heerlijk vertoeven. We komen graag nog eens terug!

Enjoyable lunch overlooking the waterway.

Op zich prima tent voor lunch. Niet hoogdravend, maar average. Leuke lunch & diner kaart. Ook voor de zakelijke lunch in ons geval. Prima service en mooi gelegen aan het water. Steak tartare had ik meer van verwacht zoals ik het gerecht ken vanuit binnen- en buitenland. Deze versie voelde wat amateuristisch aan. Helaas ook last van buik gekregen naderhand. Verder prima borden.

Ik had spare ribs met frietjes, de ribs waren net niet helemaal perfect maar ondanks dat heb ik er toch smakelijk gegeten. De carpaccio was zalig en de bediening erg vriendelijk. Mooi pluspunt vind ik skuumkoppe op de tap.

Leuk terras, leuke menukaart, vlotte bediening. Zomers eten aan het water. Opladen e-bike mag/kan niet. 🤷

Een heerlijk gelegen restaurant aan de Vecht. En als je dan op het terras in het zonnetje kunt zitten kan je dag niet meer stuk. Prima, vlotte, jeugdige bediening en lekker, betaalbaar eten.Wij namen oa. de kalfslever. Een prima keuze.

Heel gezellig aan het water. Lekker eten.

Bijzonder vriendelijke bediening, maar wat er uit de keuken komt mag beter. Spareribs lijken met magnetron bereid, weinig smaak en niet gebraden. Salade gerookte zalm een paar blaadjes sla, zalm plakjes ook erg overzichtelijk, gepocheerd eitje zo uit een plastic vormpje uit de koelkast. De plek op het terras tegenover de mooie oude brug is prachtig. Maar de volgende keer zou ik het bij een glaasje bier houden.

Heerlijk gegeten en de bediening was super. Vriendelijk en relaxed ondanks dat ze alleen was, had ze alles prima onder controle en tijd voor iedereen (zat vol! )
