We had a delicious meal with our 2 grandchildren at Westkaap! What a fantastic location and friendly staff! We later heard from others that we absolutely had to choose the Zeeuwse ondero sje for dessert next time; we will certainly be back again!

Fantastic service and amazing food.

The restaurant's location right by the sea (although it's a bitumen-covered coastal protection "dike," meaning there's very little to no sand between the sea and the land depending on the tide, so it's hardly what you'd call a beach café). However, you can drive right up to the restaurant on asphalt, which is tempting if you're looking for a slightly more upscale dining experience 😉. The ambiance is lovely, with a direct view of the sea and the sunset. The menu selection and portion sizes are manageable, but the dishes are presented in a more refined style and are priced accordingly. We were already familiar with this, having eaten there several times and even invited friends over. However, several things didn't sit well with us this time: we were treated rather rudely, and when we asked if we could have a different fish than the third type (sea bass) on the seafood platter, we were simply brushed aside with the comment that that was the only way it was served. Further polite inquiries, pointing out that there was another fish on the menu (sole), were also dismissed. The appetizers didn't live up to their names: we ordered crab soup garnished with razor clams, but neither of our soups contained a single piece of crab meat, only the two razor clams each, which were advertised on the menu as merely a garnish. The main ingredient, crab, was barely discernible as a crab broth, and it didn't taste particularly distinctive. The main courses were supposed to come with French fries, which tasted raw inside. We had specifically asked about the side dishes and were told they included French fries and vegetables. However, the vegetables were only present for show under the fish. Furthermore, the restaurant's fans were running at full blast, even though it was a shady, overcast day, and the resulting unpleasant draft forced me to sit and eat wearing my jacket. The main courses were supposed to include French fries, but they tasted raw inside. All in all, this will have been our last visit there. A real shame.

We had a truly wonderful birthday dinner there. A lovely atmosphere awaited us. We had a great table with a sea view. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Everything was absolutely delicious, special, and beautifully presented. My son was thrilled with the burger and still raves about it. We felt completely at ease.

Very weird service. The waitress was laughing at everything. A small bowl of fries for the four of us; she said that was normal for 4 people. When we left, we saw that a couple had the same bowl of fries for the two of them. I wanted my steak rare, but I got it well done. Fortunately, it wasn't tough, but listening is a skill too. Not really worth repeating. 6 oysters, 3 portions of mussels, and the steak... 140 euros. No, I do not recommend this.

What a fantastic place! From the terrace, you have an amazing view of the North Sea. We had a delicious meal; the homemade apple pie and the “Zeeuws Onderonsje” dessert are unbelievably tasty! Super friendly staff and owners.

The food was delicious 😋. However, we were a bit surprised when we received one bowl of fries for three people; after asking, we got two more. The service was excellent; the lady was very friendly and funny. We love going there; the view is simply amazing.

I am not going to pay for my plate and cutlery. Yes, you read that right; you pay for the plate. And cutlery. Three euros per person. That is nothing, but considering the fact that they charge this, and that it is only displayed at the back of the menu, it is a pathetic situation. I looked around and could already see the money rolling in. I am also not going to pay three euros for either salad or just fries. That was listed at the back of the menu as well. I should have known this place stinks, because there are really too many exclamation marks on the reservation page. "Watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Yes, that should have been a warning for me. Naturally, after finishing our drinks, we immediately asked for the bill. So no sole today then. A tasty fish instead.

Ate delicious crab legs with rich white crab meat for 2 years in a row; now returned for the third year in a row. A serious disappointment: grey-brown meat and dried out. I mentioned this when paying, but it was just charged as is.

Very friendly staff. And a surprisingly good desert specialty made with the local butter toffee flavor. And great fries And of course a fabulous view… Otherwise quite disappointing! I know, I cannot always expect the lobsters, I ate on the pacific coast, but frankly… am I the only one finding 30$ for halve a lobster of baby size, grotesque…??! And, don’t misunderstand me, I would pay it gladly if the quality were up to it, but sadly, it wasn’t: the half lobster was not grilled well, not cooked “à point”; the lobster meat still sticked to the carapace and it was only lukewarm… the accompanying grilled veggies were plainly cold, the sauce was a lovelessly prepared mayonnaise based thick paste… sorry, it was a bad experience! And finally, I had an encounter of the x-st kind in seeing this “machine”, that probably should keep white wines at the right temperature and serve the “proper” sizes… but honestly… what do we have to think of gastronomes that pump up a well made french wine through plastic tubes…

If you are at the tip of Walcheren (Domburg, Zoutelande, or Westkapelle), be sure to stop by the Westkaap! The food is top-notch, you sit right by the sea (without the sand 😅), and you receive a warm welcome (dogs are allowed if they behave). So much better than what is offered at the average beachside shack. Enjoy true Zeeland cuisine with excellent fish and mussels, but also tasty burgers or a bavette. Reasonable prices, highly recommended.

We used to eat here very often. Then we had a disappointing experience and didn't go back for two years. This March, we wanted to try it again. The food was tasty. The portion size, well, it was more like a child's plate. Especially the portion of fries—a tiny bowl meant for two people. The sauce was barely more than a tablespoon. The service was new to us, and, well, it took some getting used to. Friendliness, kind words, and a smile would have suited her well. It's a shame; it used to be our favorite restaurant.

Delicious drinks, friendly service, and there was even a biscuit for the dog.

Super delicious food, several times. Plenty of choices. The service from the (mostly "older") woman with her hair often up in a bun is excellent! The rest is unfortunately variable, sometimes mediocre. The atmosphere and food are otherwise excellent!

The food was delicious, the food was superb, and the flavors were delicious and creative. The staff was friendly, and the trainee bartender 👶🏻 was also fun and friendly. We will definitely be back when we're in the area again.

This restaurant's main selling point is its beautiful view. The hot chocolate and pastries were also excellent. Easily accessible, too, by the way.

Had a drink in the afternoon, the weather was dreary (January), the service was welcoming, the bar was very well stocked, and the staff were super friendly. We'll book for Easter.

We have already been to Zeeland three times, and every single time we make sure to visit this wonderful restaurant, located directly by the sea – only about 10 meters from the water. The service is absolutely outstanding. Rarely have we been welcomed so warmly and sincerely anywhere outside of Japan. The hospitality feels genuine, heartfelt, and attentive throughout the entire evening. The seafood is phenomenal – so fresh that you can almost still smell the sea. The food is delicious, beautifully prepared, and surprisingly affordable. I can highly recommend the lobster: a whole lobster costs no more than 40 euros, and a three-course menu is just 50 euros, which is exceptional for this quality and location. We have visited this restaurant nine times , and every evening, as the sun sets, the atmosphere becomes incredibly romantic. This restaurant, together with its location, is an absolute hidden gem that I can wholeheartedly recommend to everyone. Just make sure to reserve in advance, as it is fully booked even during the week, and on weekends every table is seated twice in the evening. A place we will gladly return to again and again.

Through a social deal. We were able to choose from the entire menu, with some options requiring an additional charge. Friendly and efficient staff. The meat and fish were excellent quality and perfectly prepared. The vegetables/salad were tasteless, odorless, and colorless. Such a shame; it could be much better.

Unfortunately, this was an extremely unpleasant experience. The staff were consistently unfriendly and at times even slightly aggressive. You feel completely unwelcome – instead, they roll their eyes and completely ignore customer requests. I have rarely experienced anything like this in a service establishment. Very disappointing and definitely not a place I can recommend!

We were only there for coffee, but the pineapple crumble immediately caught my eye on the menu. It was something completely different, so I had to try it. The server was incredibly friendly and helpful, and she explained exactly what was on my plate. And what can I say?! The pineapple crumble was divine! I've rarely eaten anything so delicious and perfectly balanced. The pineapple was flavored with rosemary, and the cinnamon parfait wasn't overpowering and complemented the pineapple beautifully. We'll definitely be back for that alone. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience! P.S.: The cappuccino was also delicious, of course 😋

Fantastic restaurant with a stunning sea view. We ate there during a storm. The seafood platter was excellent, the sole was superb, and the veal fillet was also very good. Reservations are recommended. The service was good and friendly.

Easily accessible on a section of beach where cars can drive. Great sea view. BUT the food was very carelessly thrown together and completely overpriced. The service took a little while to get going, but was then good.

The lady was unwilling to serve a group of 6. Very unfriendly and inhospitable. We left without eating or drinking.

The food here is very tasty. The selection is certainly sufficient. The service is friendly and helpful.

Starter: Focaccia with spreads: 3 spreads: mayonnaise, pumpkin, and something tasteless. Here, focaccia is just bread. Fish casserole with fish heated far too much, sauce with an indistinct taste that doesn't go with it. Wilted mixed vegetables. Left more than half uneaten; really didn't enjoy the meal at all. Unfortunately, the waiter didn't ask if we enjoyed it.

We only had a few drinks, the service was nice, and the view of the sea was simply beautiful.

Everything is a bit old-fashioned and outdated. Dogs aren't welcome, at best they're tolerated. The server was very unfriendly; instead of a greeting, we were simply informed that the outdoor seating was closed. We didn't even get to eat, as we left before our meal. There are some truly lovely restaurants along the coast, but this isn't one of them.

Expected a lot. The oysters were delicious! Too bad the white wine was tart and not salty. A picpoul de pinet would have been appropriate. Our main courses were delicious fish-wise, but the presentation—a green sauce, a flatbread of something else, and the vegetable stew—was a 7. The soggy fries were a 5. The staff was polite. In short, it was disappointing.

We felt the service could have been faster, but it is a nice place to eat or drink something.

Mooie locatie met zicht op de Westerschelde. Steile trap naar boven vanaf parkeerplaats. Voor senioren een hele klim. Onvriendelijke ontvangst en geen begrip voor het wisselen van de tafel in verband met de wind. Ook de vraag om te herhalen in verband met de door accenten veroorzaakte onverstaanbaarheid van wat wordt geantwoord op vragen, geeft zichtbare irritatie. Drankjes worden vlot geserveerd. De tapasplank a 25 euro voor 2 personen is prima. De bitterballen zijn aan de vette kant. Pittige prijzen wel.

Slechte klant-onvriendelijke bediening. De muntthee met bruine bladeren en stengels en een sandwich waarvan 1 deel droog en onbelegd. Werd, na aangeven, niets aan gedaan. Kroketjes zeer vet. Wij komen hier nooit meer!

Prima goede plek om betaalbaar lekker te eten. Van te voren gebeld en onze wensen werden prima verzorgd. Vriendelijk personeel. Het eten was heerlijk en een goede portie. Het uitzicht is indrukwekkend.

Verschillende zaken op de kaart waren niet voorradig. We hebben dan bordje vis besteld waar verschillende soorten op het bord zouden moeten liggen, inclusief zalm. Zalm ontbrak en toen ik vroeg waar zalm was, geen antwoord. Men zou even checken maar geen antwoord meer gekregen. Ontgoochelend ! Hier zien ze ons zeker niet meer terug.

Absolutely worth its stars: not only the quality of the dishes was perfect. Also the service orientation sublime: due to enormous traffic in the Randstad our guests arrived an hour after the last time slot of 20:00. Where others become restless or grumpy, the chef cuisine remained calm and his hospitality was unprecedented. Up to and including the conclusion with delicious desserts. Absolute class that we rarely encounter here in the Netherlands!

We've been coming here for years. However, the quality and service decline every year. Maybe you are no longer dependent on customers or don't want to maintain the quality and standard. I can't recommend the latte macchiato because it just wasn't tasty and it's too expensive. The service also doesn't make any effort to ensure the guest has a pleasant stay.

Had a delicious meal in this restaurant in a beautiful location right by the sea. Friendly service. Portions were tasty, but a bit on the small side. I ordered some extra fries (at no cost).

Had dinner here with a social deal. Menu was not your standard menu. The food was of very good quality, we enjoyed several fish dishes and concluded with the 'Zeeuws get-together' as dessert, which is definitely recommended. The only downside: the music was not at all appropriate for a restaurant. Nicky Minaj with Starships doesn't do much positive for the ambiance.. For the rest definitely recommended, good food with a beautiful view (make sure you experience the sunset).

Ther are only few options in January in Zealand. Dijkpaviljoen de Westkaap is one of them. The restaurant is beautifully located directly at the shore. Spectacular view to the north-sea and the ship traffic to and from antwerp port. The food is of good quality, the staff is friendly (but the service team was totally understaffed when we visited the place)

So, too bad... wrong menu, okay that's possible... but dirty eggs on supermarket bread. Pricey for the quality
