Have a Duvel here. Order it and ask for a Duvel glass. We don't have one, sir. Only emblem-free glasses. And that's in the most expensive Duvel-related place in all of Walcheren (€6.75). Such a shame. Partly because of the lack of the engraved D on the bottom of a Duvel glass, the "Goedenacht" (Good Night) doesn't bubble in the glass, thus detracting from the taste, appearance, and uniqueness of the product! Such a shame!

We had lunch for two on the terrace at In den Struyskelder and had wonderful memories of it. The staff welcomed us warmly and even allowed us to eat a little early. The €30 mussels are among the best we've ever tasted. The desserts are also quite good, although the cheesecake lacked a little softness. But overall, it was a very pleasant experience. Since the restaurant's terrace is right next to the harbor, we were able to watch the boats "park" there :-)

Pleasant terrace at the harbor of Veere. We also had dinner in the evening, which wasn't as good. The chicken salad contained hardly any chicken and a lot of ingredients that weren't on the menu. The mussels were prepared with carrots, not exactly to our liking. Also, one large pot of mussels for two people... I still find it odd to have to share a pot of mussel dishes. Friendly service.

In den Struyskelder in Veere is a charming place to unwind. The historic cellar creates a unique ambiance, and the service is friendly and attentive. The cheesecake, in particular, was wonderfully creamy and full of flavor, perfect paired with a good cup of coffee. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Veere!

We had a lovely time sitting here on the terrace by the water. I find the waitress very friendly. If they don't have time yet, they say, "Just a moment, I'll be with you in a moment..." polite and then they come... you don't have to wait long for your drink... well organised.

Lovely terrace by the harbor. Beautiful view of historic buildings and boats. Inside, the ceiling is low (...basement), so taller guests might want to duck in if they need to use the restroom. Prices are higher than average, but the location justifies that.

We just stopped by this bar on the quay for a drink. Great chairs, very comfortable, great location; the drink prices are on the high side, so you don't drink too much. The courtyard and the interior of the bar also look very inviting.

Fine, but there is work to be done. Veere, a wonderfully beautiful town. Picturesque street scenes with lovely people and on a lovely lake. But In Den Struyskelder did not reflect this. We went for lunch with 4 people on a Saturday around 12:30. Waited a long time for a friendly greeting by the lady of the day and ordered a few things. More ice than tea in the Icetea, irritation number one. Then came the food; mussels. The power of Zeeland. The pride of the sea but these mussels should have stayed in the sea. Through and through with bread that could have stayed in the oven a little longer. Taste was the big absentee in the pan. Fries as limp as my spine and yet a chip shop atmosphere because of sauce in a cardboard container! Why in a cardboard container? Shame! The ladies and gentlemen who work here are really incredibly friendly and nice at the table. But please let's boycott those cardboard containers!!

I had lunch at this beautiful restaurant and absolutely loved the experience! The place is stylish and cozy, with a great atmosphere that makes you feel welcome right away. I ordered mosselen and it was incredibly tasty – cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The staff were all very kind, friendly, and professional. Today I was a guest at Holland an der See again. The service was, as always, very friendly and attentive – even special requests were easily accommodated. The spare ribs and mussels were excellent. An all-around successful visit! I highly recommend the restaurant and would gladly return.

Prachtige locatie, maar uitbater kiest voor winst boven beleving: We reserveerden op een mooie dag met het duidelijke doel om op het terras te zitten — het uitzicht op de haven is prachtig. Bij aankomst bleek het terras echter al volledig volzet te zijn op het uur van onze reservatie. Wat een gebrek aan organisatie van de uitbater. Waarom dan überhaupt reserveren? We werden zonder uitleg naar een klein achterzaaltje geleid. Het jonge personeel was vriendelijk maar duidelijk onderbemand. We wachtten meer dan 70 (!) minuten op een eenvoudige pasta bolognaise. Intussen zorgde een extreem luidruchtig gezin naast ons voor heel wat overlast, zonder enige tussenkomst van de uitbater. Het lijkt alsof het restaurant vooral mikt op zoveel mogelijk tafels vullen, zonder oog voor sfeer of klantbeleving. Zonde, want de locatie verdient beter.

If everything is correct, then a great company like In den Struyskelder deserves five stars!! Situated on the harbor of the beautiful town of Veere, a beautiful and clean terrace with no wind but some sun because of the many glass, and a view of the cozy harbor, it was a real pleasure on Easter Sunday. Also enjoyed their delicious fish lunch, which consisted of a small but delicious fish soup, well filled with white fish, a delicious sandwich with tuna salad and to top it all off, a sandwich with a very tasty shrimp croquette. All in all, more than enough for lunch, especially with a nice blond La Chouffe beer. My wife enjoyed her sandwich with delicious smoked salmon and her white wine, and when I asked her for a rating she spontaneously gave me an 8. In short, highly recommended there at De Kaai in Veere. And then I haven't even mentioned the super friendly and expert service. We had three employees at our table and they were all great! To conclude with this absolutely positive story, let's take a look at the beautiful garden behind the building, with a beautiful conservatory and, importantly, neat modern toilets. We had a delicious lunch here, the staff was very friendly

The restaurant has a beautiful courtyard with a direct view of the church. Great for windy days! The inner courtyard is a little more hidden, but all the more quiet and relaxed! Inside, the basement, is also very nice! The nachos (see picture) were great for lunch. Something for everyone! The bitterballen were also delicious! We'll definitely come back again!

We hebben hier lekker gegeten in deze bijzondere kelder. We bestelden de Zeeuwse mosselen met frietjes en verschillende sausjes en sla en de bietroot wraps met groenten (vegetarisch). Op de kaart staan drie vegetarische gerechten en één vegan gerecht. Dit restaurant is wellicht de enige die dat heeft in Veere. Alles was lekker. Het smaakte heerlijk. De bediening was super vriendelijk. Hier zou ik zo terugkomen voor een diner. Echt een aanrader!

We had a delicious meal here in this special cellar. We ordered the Zeeland mussels with fries and different sauces and lettuce and the beet root wraps with vegetables (vegetarian). The menu includes three vegetarian dishes and one vegan dish. This restaurant is perhaps the only one that has that in Veere. Everything was tasty. It tasted delicious. The service was super friendly. I would come back here for dinner. Highly recommended!

A very nice place except that... in the middle of July, they close the kitchen at... 8pm, while the whole street is teeming with people. So we had no choice but to leave this magnificent city to go and eat a McDonald's in Middelburg. We wonder why on earth they close so early but it is definitely not customer friendly.

It was already a bit later on Sunday evening. We went in because it looked really nice. Very cozy restaurant. Staff does make mistakes. Being able to order drinks quickly and being served quickly. Then had to wait a long time to order food. Although there were still a lot of staff walking around and only 3 tables were occupied. The food was tasty. The fries were not tasty, they were fried once too much.....

Despite the late season, it was busy, but compliments for the (honest) staff who did their very best and were honest with regard to waiting times. So tops/hats off. Quality of dinner and dessert very good and price/quality ratio also good.

The avocado burger was very tasty! However, you also pay for the view.

Unfortunately a bad experience for dining at this restaurant. After waiting 40 minutes for the main course, the burgers arrived almost raw and cold inside. Angus is supposed to be medium/rare, but this just wasn't cooked properly. Not tasty and it was returned to the kitchen. Then had to wait another 25 minutes and then had to cancel the order because it simply took too long. We sat for almost 2 hours in total and could only eat a starter. In short, a very bad experience for a night out for dinner...

Went for dinner with 8 people on a very hot day, asked for a place in the shade, after 30 minutes we were in full sun. The sun turns, they also know. 4 people ordered mussels, which are served in a large pot instead of each having their own pot, very inconvenient to eat. Finally, the waiter gave me a portion of fries and vegetables in my neck, leaving my clothes stained. There was hardly any excuse for this. When paying, after much insistence, we received 1 drink as compensation. Not worth repeating.

Best location on the Veere quayside, there are seats inside, outside on the quay wall (with a great sundowner) or in the courtyard sheltered from the wind. Good menu and friendly service. We “only” tried the fries and the kibbeling during a lunch stop on the bike. The ambience outside cannot be topped with the view over the harbor, especially on sunny days.

Veere....such a cozy village. I always come here when I'm in Zeeland. This time I had dinner in De Struyskelder. Very friendly welcome. Had the crustacean bisque with bread as a starter. Very tasty with plenty of shrimps, mussels, etc. The bread was already quite dried out, so not really tasty. Main course the Visplatter with fries. Very nice sign. Different types of fish, very tasty. The fries were perfectly cooked and not greasy. I definitely recommend having something to eat there when you are in Veere.

Found food mediocre and service was too quick. Couldn't really enjoy a night out with family in peace

We were kindly received. Were allowed to choose a spot ourselves. Given the nice weather, we decided to sit outside. Nice view of the water. Service quickly came to take our drink order and it was brought quickly. Then immediately ordered the starter and main course. Enough time between courses to let it sink. Food was sufficient and very tasty! The evening ended with a delicious dessert. A nice place to dine on the water. Highly recommended!

Super fast and friendly service on a cozy terrace!

We had made a reservation on Pentecost Monday, but were fifteen minutes later than expected due to delays in the parking lot (squeezing in front of the vending machine and such). 4 minutes after the reservation time we receive a phone call telling us where we were staying, but even when we entered the waiter could not hide his annoyance. First we turned a blind eye to the fact that we were with an extra person and then we apologized for how annoying it was that we were late. I fully understand that nerves are tense on a busy day and that a lot of energy goes into making everything run so smoothly. But I don't think it is very customer friendly that someone half my age is lecturing me that I should have called and that they sent away 12 people and that my lateness is costing the place money. In the end it all seemed to go well because when we finished lunch the place was barely half full. So I think the fact that we were a little later cost the place 0 guests. But anyway: enjoy the shrimp croquette less after such a reception.

It was a pleasure to come for dinner, now under the management of two new owners and their team. They exceeded our expectations! The food was delicious with fresh ingredients and tasty flavors. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and inviting, providing a perfect setting for both a casual meal and a special occasion. The staff were attentive and professional and we felt very welcome. It is clear that a lot of care and passion has gone into the renovation of this restaurant. We look forward to eating here again and would recommend it to everyone!

Had lunch here last summer. It was busy but the staff didn't notice it, good fast and friendly service. The menu was flexible if you wanted to combine or change something about your dish. The food was also delicious! To be repeated !

We just walked in with a group of 15 people, this was no problem at all. Tables were put together and then we all enjoyed a delicious lunch! Food was delicious and service was great! Highly recommended!

Starters took one hour. The taste was very nice, especially the home made kroket. A lot of staff but still had an empty glass and we had to ask for a drink our selves… After waiting another 45 minutes the main course finally came. Fries where to hard, fish was very tasteful and delicious I only would have liked a bit warm saus. Dessert came fast and was good
