For those prices, you can eat much better elsewhere in the area.

We had reserved a table for Boxing Day and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. There was plenty of staff around, so we were always served promptly. We were very pleased with the food, both in terms of taste and value for money. The portions were ample and well-balanced. We were pleasantly surprised by the Café Royal for dessert. It's highly recommended. I was only briefly confused when the coffee arrived first, followed by the dessert about a minute and a half later. But it was all right. This wasn't our first visit, and it certainly won't be our last. Adding a bottle of wine does increase the price slightly, but you can always just order a glass.

The food was okay, but unfortunately there wasn't enough of it. My partner and I paid €67 and we weren't even full. We had to go to the supermarket afterwards to get something to eat, which was disappointing.

The service and atmosphere were great, but the food was far too little for the price. So little, in fact, that we had to eat somewhere else. Much too expensive.

Visited twice during my stay in Zoutelande. Friendly and efficient service, and the food and drinks were excellent. I wasn't completely satisfied because I was then stalked via email by the booking platform Zenchef, simply because I had to provide an email address when booking. Punishing such practices, even though they might be legally compliant with their opt-in policies, is inappropriate. Let people decide for themselves whether they want to write reviews.

We discovered Eetcafé Royal on our second evening and stayed there for the rest of our vacation. The staff was super friendly, mostly young. Drink orders came faster than you could blink, and the food was quick too. All the dishes we ordered, from wraps to tarte flambée, pizza, kibbeling, and fish pancakes, were delicious. The seating inside is pleasant, but the outside patio is also pleasant under the heaters, even in cooler weather.

Actually, it was okay. Service was friendly, But the plastic flowers on the tables, "That's just not acceptable!" A shame. Update 2022/06: The fish (sea bass fillet) was good, as was the baked potato. The white wine sauce was served in a plastic cup (that's more environmentally friendly, too). The fish pan was mediocre, the fries were awfully bad, even the mayo was in plastic. And the super-ugly table decorations (plastic "plants") were still there. Update 2025/10 These nasty plastic plant imitations are becoming more and more common and are now even hanging on the wall, among other places. Yuck, Holland, a non-flower country, or something.

Super fast service, delicious food. We'd be happy to go again!

The food was delicious, but we were truly shocked by how the staff spoke about customers. After almost every interaction with a guest, staff members would walk away and immediately start talking negatively, mockingly, or ridiculingly about that customer as soon as they saw a colleague, without even realizing that other guests could clearly hear them. This immediately gives you the feeling that they're talking about you the same way as you walk away. And this wasn't just a few exceptions: even if someone preferred to order a glass of wine instead of dessert after their main course, they were already being treated disparagingly. I understand that running such a busy restaurant during the coastal marathon can be stressful, and that everyone needs to vent sometimes. But doing this constantly, with all the colleagues, in front of other guests in plain sight, is simply unprofessional and unpleasant.

Definitely worth going for a meal.

The mussels weren't particularly good, which you wouldn't expect from this location. The preparation wasn't what it should have been, although that's not big science. The staff, however, was super pleasant and friendly!

The Royal IDT is a beautiful and cozy restaurant 🏡 that invites you to linger. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant 🌿. The food is good 🍽️ and varied, and the dishes are attractively prepared. The staff is particularly impressive; they are always friendly and accommodating 🙂. Overall, it's a restaurant where you feel at home and will gladly return 👍.

Large selection, everything delicious. We were there once in the evening (kibbeling and salmon) and again the next morning for coffee and cake. The staff is friendly and professional. Especially the tall, blond waiter who served us on our first visit. He is particularly attentive, friendly, and has a great overview of everything. The Zoutelande Spritz is also recommended (if you like a Martini Bianco).

Unbelievably bad! The satay they serve is tasteless and lifeless. The service is bizarre. In the space of five minutes, we were asked four times if we were finished, even though our plates weren't even empty. It was incredibly embarrassing. I complained about this, but it wasn't taken seriously and was laughed off by the overpopular staff. And no compensation was offered. I think this place is succumbing to mass tourism. A few years ago, you could still have a nice meal here.

Lekker gegeten,maar wel een matige portie. Ik had wienerschnitzel met als extra champignonsaus. Saus is 3,50€ extra. Deze saus was ongeveer 2 eetlepels. Erg mager. Smaakte wel goed.

Vriendelijke binnenkomst, vlot geholpen en naar onze gereserveerde tafel gebracht. Drankjes werden snel gebracht, de martini eerst zonder ijs, daarna met ijs. Glas was alleen de boem gevuld, nog geen halve centimeter en dan met 6 blokken ijs, was niet meer te drinken. De schnitzels, moest je saus bij bestellen. Ik koos voor zigeunersaus. Helaas was dit een zoute ketchup smaak, dus er af geschraapt. De schnitzel zelf was gewoon van smaak. Sla zat een aparte smaak aan( te lang in de koeler) mijn man had een andere sla in zijn bakje. De friet was knapperig dus die ging schoon op. Beetje jammer en helaas niet de belofte wat we de dag ervoor hadden gegeten als lunch. De flammkuchen en de zalmwrap, die waren erg smaakvol en goed bereid. Misschien was deze kok iets meer ervaren!

Heerlijk gegeten bij Eetcafé Royal!! Goede service! 2 minpuntjes: jammer dat bijna alle vrouwelijke medewerkers hun haren los hebben en dit ook regelmatig aanraken. Dit ziet er onverzorgd uit en is absoluut niet hygiënisch. Ook hebben veel medewerkers hun persoonlijke mobiele telefoon in hun broekzak. Dit is niet professioneel en geeft geen goede uitstraling.

Sat on the patio at Royal, very cozy, nice music. Ordered nachos, but they were inedible. A thick layer of sauce and cheese on them, making the nachos completely soft. Such a shame. They were removed from the bill, though, and the service was great 👍🏻

Arrived on the terrace at 10:25. It wasn't busy at all. According to the information, it opened at 10:00. There were four guests there at that time. We waited until 10:35. Unfortunately, they were too busy cleaning instead of serving customers. I saw at least three of the staff walking around. I can understand that Sunday morning still hasn't started. But come on. In short, no stars for food that was never requested or delivered. Unfortunately, I can't judge that. The terrace they have is called the Snail. Well, I think that's a better name for it. Sorry to be so blunt. But that's the experience. Maybe it would have been better to come later. But whether that would be faster... Well, well.

Eetcafé Royal, located in Zoute Landen is a pleasant place to go and eat something. The food itself was at the table after 10 minutes and the drinks took about 5 minutes or even less. There were three of us and we all ordered a different croque. These were delicious, a note on this: they only give ketchup with it. What was noticeable at this place; is that there is a lot of staff present: this ensures a fast service but sometimes also a chaotic and loud environment. All in all a nice place to sit down.

For us a regular stop when we are in Zoutelande. Just have a bite and a drink and enjoy. During our annual Zoutelande holiday in April almost daily. Sometimes just something small and another time a nice lunch or dinner. Plenty of choice! Staff always friendly.

Good food, fast service, but close together (disturbing)

We ate there 2 evenings. The mussels and the steak tips were great. Day 2 the sea bass was perfect, the schnitzel on the other hand was definitely not good for a place where many Germans go. Small in size and the mushroom sauce came from a bucket of ready-made sauce. A bit of a shame. But the rest was perfect.

If you had hoped to eat delicious Zeeland mussels here near the sea, you will return from a bare journey. They had probably already been prepared the day before, were heated up in an oven (!) (because the top ones were bone dry and so were the vegetables) and the sauce was downright bad. And top of the bill, the service was not friendly either. Zoutelande is immediately a little less cheerful than usual.

Update April 29, 2025: Even though I really like you and your pizza is legendary, I have to go down from five to three stars. As an absolute steak lover, I thought I could get a top fillet steak at such a good and tasty address. I don't want to criticize at all, I'm simply describing it realistically and soberly: a fillet steak, which was ordered medium, came completely cooked in a pan that was full of fat and oil. The steak was swimming in its own fumes. It really wasn't attractive at all and wasn't even appetizing at all. The actual lean fillet steak turned into a calorie bomb and tasted purely of fat and oil. White bread was served with it. I'm perplexed. A fillet steak should have a fine crust and, if ordered medium, should be medium rare. It should not be completely soaked and floating in its own liquid. Schönes Lokal, mit sehr netter Bedienung und leckerem Essen. Wir haben online reserviert und waren rundum begeistert.

Wir fahren seit mehreren Jahren hierher und mindestens einmal besuchen wir das Eetcafe Royal. Die Speisen sind frisch, nett angerichtet , das Personal ist freundlich aber das Essen leider sehr hochpreisig. Über 20 € für ein Nudelgericht und 22€ für einen Burger sind absolut übertrieben. Wir werden leider nicht mehr wiederkommen.

Wir sind immer wieder einmal im Eetcafe Royal. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich, das Essen prima und der Service immer sehr flott. Manchmal fehlen kleine Dinge (z.b. Tomaten auf dem Burger oder Salat beim Schnitzel), wird aber immer nachgeliefert. Nachdem der Gastraum zuletzt noch einmal neu ausgestattet worden ist, wären jetzt allerdings dringend mal die Toiletten mit einer Renovierung dran...

Unfortunately, the mussels (although they were generally of good quality) didn't taste like anything, and - even though it was on the menu - I couldn't taste any white wine from the broth, which also only contained a few carrot strips and onion rings. The side salad was a tragedy, the fries were frozen food. Likewise the fish pan, served with frozen vegetables, the pan itself a mixture of fish in a ready-made sauce that tastes like nothing. It's a shame, I really don't understand all the good reviews here. In addition, the price-performance ratio is of course not right. The ambience is okay and the many very young waiters are friendly and helpful, but of course some are inexperienced and almost intimidated when clearing up or having a conversation. We do not recommend the restaurant!

De ober liet het aperitief vallen juist aan onze tafel, geen verontschuldiging of niks. Met moeite opgekuist. De mosselen waren er zeer weinig voor de prijs die we er voor moesten betalen. De mosselen, er waren er meer gesloten of open. Dus voor ons zeker niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Toen we aankwamen konden we kiezen tussen enkele tafels owv comfort van onze hond. De bediening was snel en beleefd, lekker gegeten, mooie geserveerd. Honden toegelaten,. Wel op voorhand geboekt. De zaak zat goed vol ten opzichte van de andere zaakjes in de buurt.
