Döner King in Callantsoog

Four of us ordered takeout food from there. The doner kebab was by far the worst I've ever tasted. The chicken was only partially crispy and had an above-average level of fat. The audacity began with the bread: They don't serve you flatbreads, but burger buns, which were also old and sticky. Last but not least, the salad was very soggy and took some getting used to. We took a quick bite of the doner kebabs and then had to throw them away. Even the dog, against his nature, didn't want to taste the meat. To all tourists and guests: If you're craving a doner kebab like we were, find another place.

Ate here yesterday, the doner bread looked like it was a week old! So tough! The lettuce wasn't green, but brown and pink, as if it were already very old, and the meat was also old and raw. The croquette was absolutely tough. We also received mayonnaise without the fries we ordered... 40 euros wasted.

9 EUR small kebab, 11 EUR large kebab...

I ate a large doner kebab, but it didn't cost me a penny. Very little meat, a tough roll that had been briefly baked, served on an old Ikea plate. I was still really hungry after the sandwich. It didn't look very fresh inside. A hard-working man, but completely out of energy for the guests.

I ate here yesterday and it was a disappointment from start to finish. The food tasted like it had been sitting there for hours, and the salad had more brown edges than green leaves. A free stomach ache afterward, though! The staff was disinterested and curt. No smiles, no greetings. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cold and chaotic, as if no one really cared about the guests. All in all, a waste of time and money. There are plenty of better places where you're welcome and get a good meal.

For my personal taste and rating, the worst döner ever had. It's called chicken döner but my was a tasteless fluffy non-crispy meat in a bread with some salad. Fries was at least not frozen but far away from what the Dutch as experts in fries can do. Bit cleaning outside area would elevate the quite central location. Price on higher side and may due to location and time, but it's in my opinion absolute not in balance with the provided food quality.

The worst kebab we've ever eaten, if you can even call it a kebab anymore. It's completely overpriced and the staff is extremely unfriendly. The only thing that was good was the Coke. Save your money and your time.

The prices are out of proportion to the quality, I wouldn't recommend it.

The staff was incredibly friendly, but the two chicken doner wraps were an indefinable mass. Charging €24 each for that, including a drink, is simply not reasonable. The outside area was quite unkempt. It could have been better. It's a shame.

Hi, we ordered a kip kebab with real chicken and a tonno pizza. Both were excellent for a quick snack. The price was a bit high, but the food was just about okay.

We first waited for 3 minutes until someone finally came to help us... I actually wanted to leave then (I should have done better in retrospect) Chicken Doner tasted bland..... Cheeseburger, burger is super thin and light, cheese has become 1 with the bun and you can only get a Coke with a menu and no Fanta or something. All in all not something to go there to eat... you won't see me here anymore

Sorry but you shouldn't call it a kebab That was the worst kebab I've ever eaten. A can of meat that has been left in the sun for 3 days tastes better. The only fresh thing was the lettuce leaf on top. Save your money.

Amazing, big portions and juicy.

We ordered calzone with kip doner. Was very nice and big, can easily feed two people. It was very cheesy and the meat was good. As well we tried durum doner, Turkish pizza and burgers, all was very good and in order. We went there three or four times so far and I have nothing to complain about. Reading the previous comments I would say that the offer and the quality of the food improved a lot.

I absolutely cannot understand the bad reviews. We've gotten pizza to go here several times. These were always super tasty. Fresh ingredients and the pizza base is nice and crispy. And the staff is always very nice.

I do not recommend. The meat was lying in pieces in containers probably all day instead of being roasted on a spit. The man making the kebab did not have gloves and touched the tortilla with dirty hands. He warmed the tortilla slightly but it was still cold when I got it. I wanted a regular kebab but got it with chicken because that was the only meat they prepared, probably because they have few customers. Not good. Couldn't eat it

What a bunch of tents you order for a fortune in food. Fries looked like they had washed up from the North Sea, Turkish pizza had been kept under the beer tap, I think. Kofte was the same as the hamburger sandwich. Gross shit I don't think the pan was hot or the oven was broken because everything was cold and raw.🤮

A very bad experience and that is putting it lightly. Food is undercooked and cold. Turkish pizza was wet and tasted like beer. Out of misery they turned to the white sandwiches with salami.

I got dinner for the three of us in the evening for 40 euros. I had 1 bite of meat that was raw... the sandwich was soaking wet. My comrade's lamachun tasted like beer and was soaking wet. And my other friend's hamburger was the same as the kofte. Fries were greasy and very wet.

Disgusting!!! 2 kebabs 28€ not to mention the quality. Even the trash can vomited after we threw the leftovers in it.

Well I have to say the pizza was good. The service too. All in all, completely OK. Nothing negative. There's no restaurant that's good for that.

Give it a wide berth. Meat like most of the previous speakers, far too little of everything, stuffy and annoyed people behind the counter. The only thing that matters here is to get money into the cash register as quickly as possible. Typical tourist rip-off, once you've been there, you'll never go back.

The burgers we had could have been bought in the fridge at the supermarket around the corner for 2 euros.

Unfortunately I forgot to read the reviews! I can't understand why the store was so full! 1 kebab 10 euros 1 kebab box 9 euros a burger menu over 16 euros around 39 euros and the food was inedible!! Burger menu wobbly disgusting with 8 fries! Doner meat is indefinably disgusting so the last thing. It was a lesson for us not to read any reviews

KING DISASTER!! Large kebab box only half full, meat is really not that great. Fries are hard and too salty. Pizza Salami is also a disaster, dough not cooked properly, tastes like nothing. So the store has nothing to do with KING. But prices like a really big one

We ordered two pizzas, which tasted good. Mine was a chicken pizza. I tasted an exotic spice, a bit like curry, which is delicious. The crust of the pizza was hot and delicious, except for being a little salty, everything is good.

So unfortunately I also missed looking at the review beforehand. We had pizza that was not only completely overpriced but also completely tasteless. Unfortunately my wife's kebab box couldn't do anything either. At least the beer and the Fanta were ok 😂

The kebab king is probably more of a diarrhea king. The kebab meat tasted strange. That was really an expensive failure or diarrhea. The shop would have to be closed.

Juice shop to the power of 10. A minimal kebab where as an adult you would need two to get full for a whopping €11 with a minimal lettuce leaf and nothing else, the sauce was lousy and spiced with cinnamon to top it off. 🤬 Pizza without tomato sauce, cheese without taste and the mushrooms old.

After a long journey and a short stay at the beach with ravenous hunger, I ordered 2 kebabs to take away. Nothing at all fit together. Dry cheap roll, far dry, limp kebab meat with trace elements, lettuce and onions... nothing else, no hot peppers or sheep's cheese that you wanted, 10 €! I have rarely if ever eaten such a bad and expensive kebab. Ridiculousness and foolishness, completely pissed off despite a nice day.

The very last thing 😠 we just got 2 kebabs... that was the worst kebab we've ever eaten.. indefinable kebab meat, probably cut off a long time ago and kept warm and partly not cooked!!, a touch of chopped salad, Sauce slapped on it for €10 per kebab! The “doner kebab” tasted okay. But for 9 euros you can only get one without sauce, with sauce 10 euros. The size of the “big” kebab is also an absolute disgrace. Placed online order. Ordered a pita bread Döner without lettuce/raw vegetables and sauce… you guessed it…. My daughter ate a bun with flakes! The salami pizza was greasy and if you can't cut a pizza… don't try! My Döner sandwich was lukewarm and very soggy! Not recommended for a weekday Tuesday evening! P.s. the pita breads were not pita but “normal” balls!

Doner bread from the microwave. Meat stored in the metal boxes, not freshly cut, feels like chewing rubber and the meat only fills 20% of the diner. The kebab comes in a box so that the 20% of the kebab meat falls out anyway. Not recommended, don't try it at all.

Ate there for the first time and won't be going back. The alleged "bacon" on the burgers was normal, not tasty ham, the burger patties were ready-made frozen patties or something, definitely NOT freshly prepared. The falafel wrap was dry, hardly any sauce, hardly any salad. Paid a lot for dissatisfaction. When I was asked which sauce should go on the wrap and had to think for a few seconds, after two seconds the waitress started typing impatiently on the notepad. You just don't do it.

On September 18, 2023, I had my first doner sandwich after work. That night I started throwing up, sweating and shivering, severe food poisoning. Back on my feet today. I had to give a star to post a review, I give them a minus 5 stars and notify the inspection service to visit this tent.

Chosen döner chicken and it is no longer necessary for me: the sandwich was very sparsely filled with some dried out chicken remains, lots of lettuce with a dash of sauce and sambal, for way too much money. Hatte Pizza und die war sehr gut. Auch die Pommes kann ich nur empfehlen mal zu probieren.

Wir hatten eine Dönerbox und eine Chicken Mix Box. Das Essen hat geschmeckt und war preislich ok.

Das Essen war zwar nicht allzu schön, muss es meiner Meinung nach aber auch nicht sein, denn es hat gut geschmeckt. Das ist alles was zählt.

Ich hatte eine türkische Pizza ohne Fleisch....super lecker....guter Preis....kann ich nur empfehlen.

27 mei 2023 zag er leuk uit even hapje eten na het strand. Wrap doner en kl broodje doner en patat met. Daar ter plaatse eten en kreeg geen bestek erbij..daarom gevraagd. Er was alleen een vork .. Het vlees vond ik er apart uit zien ik zei lijkt wel boterhamworst ook mijn man Keek nog eens goed, dat lijkt wel zo, smaakt er niet naar. Geen saus op de doner daar vroegen om ..het zat er op zeiden ze..nee dus ..de flessen saus werden wel mee gegeven moesten meteen terug. Patat was geweldig..toch het vlees kwam uit een bak, de spit stond niet aan en daar werd ook niks van af gesneden. We vonden beiden het vlees er raar uit zien als vleeswaar en besloten hier niet meer heen te gaan. Ook al smaakte het prima. Het was niet zoals we gewend zijn, als we in Schagen eten.

Wir hatten Pizza zum mitnehmen bestellt. Beide Pizzen sehr groß, der Belag allerdings (ausser Käse) sehr übersichtlich. Schön dünner Boden, leider aber sehr weich, die Pizza direkt in Achtel geschnitten, aber mit den Fingern essen nicht möglich. Ausserdem kam der Geschmack nur von der Salami, die Tomatensauce ohne Gewürze. Vielleicht etwas viel Angebot in einem Laden, alles rund um Döner würde doch auch reichen, es gibt sonst keinen im Ort. Schade, es ist ein schöner, gepflegter Laden mit nettem Personal.

Hallo,wenn ich so lese was die Leute so geschrieben ,kann ich es nicht ganz nachvollziehen, wir waren heute da,zwar keine 5 Sterne, aber 4 gebe ich Personal war nett,essen war okay, die meisten die hier nur 1 Stern gegeben haben,hatten ihre erste Rezension geschrieben, da bin ich sowieso immer skeptisch und komisch ist es auch,bei so vielen, konnte jetzt nichts negatives sehen,die Preise sind halt so,Touristen Stadt,was erwartet man also dann...aber noch zu bemerken, große und tolle Auswahl an Getränken!!

Bah wat een vies broodje doner kebab, duur, smakeloos, vet en slap vlees, lauw, en droog brood, je moet contant betalen..

Schon wenn man sich die Speisekarte anschaut, wird klar, dass es hier nicht um Qualität sondern um Masse geht. Wenn man nichts erwartet, ist es ganz okay. Auf jeden Fall nicht billig und der Außenbereich war bei meinem Besuch unappetitlich dreckig.

I was there only one time but i can say all for me was good about durum doner good meat and fresh salat food was ready very fast i got 5 on it.

Een nieuwe zaak in Callantsoog de Dönerking, maar helaas van buiten zag het er netjes uit, maar het personeel onvriendelijk, Döner broodje te koud en het patat speciaal niet lekker met ketchup en majonaise. De man sprak slecht Nederlands en begreep dus niet wat wij wilde eten.
