The ambiance is truly appealing and invites you to linger. Unfortunately, neither the food nor the service were convincing. The food was mediocre, and the service was inattentive: While the order was taken quickly, no one appeared afterward. Eye contact was barely noticeable, and reordering was practically impossible. Overall, it's a shame, because with such a lovely ambiance, one would have expected much more.

A fun, no-nonsense pancake restaurant with a nice play area for children.

Yesterday, we were in a mixed group of Dutch and Germans at the restaurant. Before eating and drinking, we also treated ourselves to the mini-golf course for five euros per nose. Yes, it's not a high-tech facility according to the Olympic Committee's testing regulations, but we still had a blast. Our cheerful competition thrived on improvisations and our own interpretations of the rules. The subsequent stay in the restaurant was also to our liking. We're in the Netherlands and on the coast – prices there are somewhat higher than in provincial German suburbs, in our opinion. The service was attentive and charming. We'd love to come back and already have new ideas for our next round on the mini-golf courses...

We had delicious lava cake there. Highly recommended. It's also a really fun place with trampolines and other play equipment.

Went there today for dinner. The terrace was very dirty, and the food was a disgrace. But when we left, we saw the kitchen. 🤮🤮🤮. They should have seen it beforehand, otherwise they wouldn't have earned a cent from us.

Slow, seemingly hard-of-hearing staff who have no control over the place at all. Very short attention span and no interest in making us feel satisfied. Instead of a smile, you’re met with a confused look. Misunderstands what you want to pay and what you ordered. At best, mediocre food. And teenagers were constantly hanging around the trampolines pulling dangerous stunts, which wasn’t exactly ideal with my little daughter there.

We were there yesterday as a family and wanted to end the day with a round of mini golf. I can't comment on the restaurant or the food, as we only used the course. My conclusion: If you only want to play mini golf, I unfortunately can't recommend a visit. The course has potential, but this is currently neither being used nor clearly exploited. At first glance, the holes at the front appear reasonably well-maintained; apparently, they were only superficially cleaned to create a better impression. However, upon entering the holes, one thing quickly becomes apparent: there is neither recognizable numbering nor clear routing. You therefore have to choose the order of the holes yourself – which some might find flexible, but others might find simply confusing. The overall condition of the holes is clearly showing its age: unkempt, partially dirty, with rust on the frames, and in some cases even defective. You almost have to take care of cleaning them yourself before playing. The promised 18 holes are also missing – when we inquired, we were told that one hole had been removed because small chalets had now been built there. Instead, we were supposed to play another hole twice. When I pointed out that I had personally never seen such a run-down course, the owners responded with only a curt "okay." They showed no interest in further feedback. Our visit ended quickly, and we went elsewhere. My conclusion: The potential is there, but it's not being utilized. I can't recommend the course purely for mini golf. I can't comment on the quality of the restaurant or accommodations.

The atmosphere was nice, with a trampoline for the kids... the hot dog wasn't your typical hot dog, and the fries tasted of old grease... the schnitzel was dry and very overcooked....

We played only mini golf.sadly it wasn’t in a very good shape.everything was covered with leaves and falling parts from trees. Also we even lost a ball since the hole in one track was leading under the track itself.we finished earlier because no one really had fun on playing on such besides from that as a nice playground so if you just want to rest do a small break and this is totally fine here.for people who love to play mini golf i wouldn’t recommend this place.

The food here is rock-solid and absolutely decent. Only the attached mini-golf course doesn't quite fit in with this fully developed tourist restaurant in a few places. For one thing, I tripped over a large protruding nail, many of the holes haven't been cleared of the foliage and needles of the neighboring trees for a long time, and it's very strange that there are only 16 holes. Even the note you receive lists 18 holes...

The price-quality ratio isn't ideal here. If you order poffertjes, don't expect a plate full, but a maximum of 10 poffertjes topped with powdered sugar. For the price, that's truly exceptional. The service wasn't great either, the staff were lovely, but I would definitely have ordered a drink more often if the staff, who walked by, had checked if everything was to my liking.

Waiting 45 minutes for 4 dishes was unbearable. All the staff were 16, 17, and 18-year-olds. Fries were hard, and the sandwich was cut too thick. Useless. But the staff wasn't in a hurry; chatting with each other was more important.

We were really looking forward to eating there, but it was a complete disappointment. We had the feeling that they didn't even want to understand us. They spoke to us almost exclusively in Dutch, even though we obviously don't speak Dutch. They weren't really interested in speaking to us in English, even though the Dutch are actually perfectly fluent. The service staff seemed completely overwhelmed with simple orders like "Pommes special." As Germans, we had to explain what a Pommes special was—the Dutch are actually so famous for it. In the end, it looked like everything, but not like a Pommes special. We were a group of three couples and ordered three Bitterballen. Everything was thrown into a bowl and placed on the table. The staff seemed completely listless; we didn't see anyone else outside. No one came to ask if everything was okay or if we wanted to order anything else. When we went in and asked if someone could come out and pay, they printed out the entire receipt and put it down. No one knew we were paying separately; we should have told them beforehand. But no one even asked us if it was okay to be billed as a group. Work clothes were very dirty in places. The staff couldn't even smile. The pancakes were okay, but we're really annoyed that we spent so much money there. We would have received more friendly service at any chip shop. Since we apparently aren't the only ones complaining about the service, maybe we should take that to heart. PS: It's best not to wear shorts. Chairs without seat cushions left very unpleasant welts on my thighs that were still visible over an hour later. Comfortable is something else entirely. The only nice thing here is the play area for children.

I've been there twice now, and the service was just as bad the second time as the first. Although there aren't as many tables occupied, the waitresses are few and far between and slow. Once you've finished your drink, you don't get a chance to order another one because no one even bothers to check on you. I had the apple pancake both times, which was delicious. It came with powdered sugar and syrup.

The waitress was quick to get our drinks, which arrived within five minutes. The food arrived 20 minutes after ordering and was incredibly delicious. We highly recommend it. There's plenty of space for the kids to run around, including a small playground and three trampolines. We'd love to come back.

Bad business! Food and drinks from the supermarket. No fizz in the drinks. No service is too much trouble apparently... Not seen me again. My experience with this restaurant is very bad never experienced shame on you!

We had to wait almost two hours for our food without warning and were repeatedly delayed by five minutes. On top of that, the waitress repeatedly ignored us, and the owner was incredibly rude and didn't seem to care that we were completely dissatisfied. The food is quite solid, but definitely not worth the money or the wait. We've rarely eaten food so poorly presented and poorly seasoned. We definitely wouldn't go back.

Our drinks were empty after just 30 minutes. No service anywhere – no one even thought to ask for further requests. Ignoring guests like this is simply disrespectful. The terrace was a complete nuisance: trash on the floor, a dirty dog ​​bowl right next to our table, and it hadn't even been cleaned beforehand. Disgusting and unhygienic. Conclusion: A miserable place with catastrophic service and terrible food. Absolutely not recommended. We won't set foot in this restaurant again.

I went there to play mini golf. One hole is missing. Particularly interesting obstacles are branches and leaves on the course, as well as small defects. The ground is uneven, which naturally makes the game difficult.

We ate salty and sweet pancakes, or "lätty" in Finnish. Both tasted really good. The service was friendly and the food arrived quickly. Yes, I could visit here again.

I'm from the area and have always been curious. Unfortunately it was disappointing, even though the setting with play house, trampolines and miniature golf is great fun. Service was not good and the pancake ordered was way too greasy. The tables were also not clean. Very unfortunate. I hoped this would become a regular spot.

Very bad service. We had dinner with 6 people for a birthday. 4 people get their food, the other 2 fifteen minutes and half an hour later. Without any form of communication.

Played a round of golf with the family on the mini golf course, then had some coffee, tea and something tasty. Hardworking team, all equally nice and helpful.

Very cozy restaurant in Petten, with very nice outdoor dining. The best apple pancake I've had in a long time. Simply great!! Other dishes also looked delicious. Herzog Jan beer/bottle, super tasty and cold. We'll definitely be back.

Ik wil graag mijn teleurstellende ervaring bij Restaurant Buiten in Petten delen. Mijn bezoek was een ware ramp van begin tot eind. De bestellingen liepen volledig door elkaar. We kregen gerechten die we niet hadden besteld en moesten vervolgens wachten op onze daadwerkelijke bestelling. Dit alles werd verergerd door de eigenaar, die niet alleen bot maar ook ronduit onvriendelijk was. Er was totaal geen begrip of excuus voor de fouten, wat de hele ervaring nog onaangenamer maakte. Ik zal hier zeker niet terugkomen en raad dit restaurant absoluut niet aan.

Waited half an hour for the menu and then got up and got it myself. Then waited half an hour for food. It was because I was really hungry, otherwise I would have left long ago. No tip given, I normally give around 10 , but this was ridiculous. Never come there again!

It's a shame that no more attention is paid to the miniature golf courses. Many broken, no numbering. Was a disappointment!

We hadden Verse wafels verwacht Dat viel tegen. Mogelijk waren onze verwachtingen te hoog Verse wafel of verse poffertjes. Hadden we heerlijk gevonden . Mogelijk kom ik nog een keer terug voor pannenkoeken ik hoop dat hij wel vers zijn maar wafels maak ik thuis en poffertjes ook of gaan naar restaurant die ze zelf maken. Personeel was vriendelijk maar leken zich ook onmachtig te voelen toen ik doorvroeg over de wafels en de poffertjes die blijkbaar uit en zak komen. De aardbeien waren vers en dat is heerlijk . Voor een wafel uit de zakje die veel te zoet was en duidelijk niet zelf gemaakt was, was dit bezoek teleurstelling helaas.

It is a nice place with trampolins for the kids, which are nicely located (right in front of some of the tables). But the food was alright at best - the fries were way too salty and you could tell it was prepared in a hurry and without any love. The worst thing tough was the service: We had to get the menus ourselves (after 10-15 min of being there) and then after we ordered, the food was delivered 80 (!) minutes later, even though the place was not that crowded. Our two-year-old son was starving, which they must have noticed, but nevertheless they did not apologize at all. We will not come again!

We had to wait for more than one hour for our Food (with a two-year-old). They did not apologise or asked if we want to order more Drinks. So we were thirsty as well. The taste of the food was okay, but not good.

Poffertjes were straight from the supermarket. Pancake was dry and without syrup or powdered sugar. Schnitzel from the fryer when we had already finished the pancakes. A nice environment for children. Run by teenagers, stay away!!!

Prachtig plekje, dus even ontspannen en ons verheugen op wafel met ijs en advokaat. Deze was lekker echter voor het gevoel van WOW zou je een wáfel moeten hebben en niet een klein rond wafeltje dat niet zelfgemaakt was. Broodje kroket was voor €5 een zacht bolletje met kroket, niks erbij, geen mosterd, geen bestek. Jammer want daardoor komen we niet meer terug. Tip, doe er voor €0,30 ct meer een extra wafel bij waardoor mensen in ieder geval het idee hebben dat het een wáfel is. Bediening was trouwens allervriendelijkst maar ja, die kreeg dan tóch geen fooi.

The restaurant was occupied by 3 couples and yet we had a waiting time of 1 hour (2x fries and a wrap) the portions were very small and completely overpriced, I have never eaten so badly! The quality was poor. The high chair for our son was dirty and the tables were also sticky. Never again !

This is a very interesting place to relax and eat. The Host of this restaurant is super friendly. From a good Dutch Pancake to a good beer with a nice exterior facing the mini golf and the tranpolines for the kids and adults to have fun! 😅 Good Surf Vibe! 👍

Haben das praktisch leere Lokal als Familie besucht. Nach etwa 10 Minuten wurde man auf uns aufmerksam, etwas auf der Karte zu finden war nicht schwer. Nach dem Bestellen haben wir 30 Min gewartet. Wir hatten einen Toastie und einen Hotdog. Ich beobachtete andere Gäste, welche nach uns erschienen, jedoch vor uns gegessen, gezahlt und letztlich den Laden verlassen haben. Dann kam plötzlich jemand mit einer Tüte voller Hamburgerbrötchen an uns vorbei. Kurze Zeit später dann wurde unser Essen serviert. Geschmacklich einigermaßen, jedoch sehr unprofessionell zubereitet, wirkte optisch also keineswegs ansprechend. Da wir nicht wirklich beachtet wurden, habe ich dann umgehend an der Theke gezahlt und wir verließen den Laden ohne noch einmal an einen Besuch zu denken.

During our week6away we stopped for a bite. Food was mediocre, served by a 16yo and a couple of other young individuals, not all that professional. Atmosphere was children playing in the restaurant garden, noisey. We sat outside and although it was chilly the sun was intense enough to warm us.

We stopped during our bike ride for waffles and poffertjes. At a pancake restaurant you expect it to be freshly prepared. This was not the case. The poffertjes came out of the microwave and were not even warm. A pity. Furthermore, excellent and friendly service.

Crappy restaurant. Waited over an hour for a simple pancake. After carefully asking (it was not very busy, but the lady in question had to solve everything on her own). "Do you want it now then?" Groups that arrived later and were larger received their food earlier. Ice cream (from the Social Deal) but skipped, nothing was said about it, but I was allowed to pay for my drinks. I was here on October 14, 2022. With a Social Deal. No go. There are nicer restaurants in the area.

We had delicious pancakes and poffertjes, very good chicken wrap with an individual sauce, and a delicious Greek salad. The prices are reasonable. The service was attentive and quick. Child and dog friendly. Clear recommendation for a little hunger in between!

It smelled strongly of old grease and food, prices for 🍺 non-alcoholic beer and alcoholic beer were quite expensive. Looking into the kitchen stopped us from ordering lunch/cake. It wasn't clean and hygienic enough for us to eat there.

Quite a nice place to eat if there was something there that you could order. The hot dog (?) was already dry because there was no more hot dog sauce. Fries were tasty and the chicken wrap was mediocre. Service was friendly, there was almost no waiting time (no one else was there either). This time 08-2023 a completely different experience. Waited almost an hour and still no pancake. Also came 0x to ask if we wanted anything to drink in an hour, only ordered a drink upon arrival. We sat inside and the only table with nice chairs had an open laptop on it, so you couldn't sit there. Service staff walked by stamping loudly 30 times. But they also walked past us completely ignoring us after having had nothing for an hour, paid for the drinks and left Still 3 stars due to previous visit. Had a great meal, it was quite busy but the food was quick and of excellent quality. Service nothing wrong with nice girls. Inside, the decor is a bit boring and you can sit outside and the 3 trampolines are of course fantastic for children. Was pleasantly surprised, I've driven past it 100 times, but I always ate something on the beach at Zee en Zo. But I can really recommend this after a day at the beach. I personally think the food is better and the service and seating are better than Zee en Zo. Although Zee en Zo isn't bad either, I still go there regularly.

You had to look for the toppings on the pancakes and if you order a waffle with ice cream you literally get a cold sugar waffle from the supermarket with a scoop of ice cream. Definitely not recommended for food. There was room for the children to play and jump.

Very nice restaurant! Perfect for eating out with children. While you wait for the food, the children can go straight to the playground and let off some energy. Visited with daughter, her partner and granddaughters. At the end of the afternoon, around 5 o'clock, it was still very quiet. Being able to jump on a trampoline with the eldest granddaughter before and after ordering. Relaxed atmosphere. There is also a playhouse with slides. There is also a miniature golf course for older children.

Misschien waren onze verwachtingen te hoog aangezien ik een zelfgebakken verse wafel verwachtte maar dit leek meer op een rond wafeltje ut een supermarkt verpakking die was opgewarmd waardoor het middelste nog koud was met wat aardbeien erop

We were super satisfied here, very nice service. We were able to order in English and there were no communication problems. The food was also really tasty and came quite quickly, considering it was quite full. The only thing that was unreasonable was a few tourists who complained that the nice lady only answers in English and why she doesn't speak German, which in my opinion was an impertinence. Then I'm not allowed to go on holiday abroad!!!

We had lunch at Buiten in Petten and enjoyed the experience. The setting is ideal for a quick rest and snack, making it perfect for a quick lunch. The food was standard but tasty, with the surprise size of the waffles that brought laughter to our table. The standout feature is the location, with trampolines and a mini-golf area for children, and close proximity to the beach, sea, and dune. However, the service was slower than we'd prefer. Despite this, the staff was accommodating. Overall, Buiten is a great location for a family meal, with good food and fun activities for children. Be prepared for slower service.

Not recommended! On a quiet day, the two of us came to eat some fries. After more than half an hour still nothing. Went inside to ask how long it would take, we were told that the papat was not even in the fryer yet. We ended up leaving without having our food. Bad thing!
