Fairly poorly maintained building, food was passable but not wow.

The decor, in the style of an American diner from the 1960s, is very nice. We were allowed to take numerous photos. Thank you very much for that. The menu is huge, which doesn't speak for quality. The burger was overseasoned and probably a convenience store item. The owner was very friendly, similar to the waiters in larger Italian cities who greet tourists outside the restaurant.

Downtown eatery Sluis spaghetti is served in a plate that looks more like a top hat than a normal deep plate, most likely with the intention of disguising as much as possible the very small amount of what is offered at the bottom; this one was namely not enough even for a 5 year old toddler. The taste of this meager snack was okay. The cheeseburger sandwich on offer (€16.95) tasted like it had been frozen for 10 months and was as hard as a piece of brown coal, in short, inedible. When complaining, the service suddenly barely understood Dutch anymore. In short, from now on we will avoid this company because the final amount of +€40 for these 2 snacks that look nothing like this only made the frustration even greater.....

Prima eten. Onbeperkt spareribs waren lekker mals en goed gebakken. Na de vijfde kam zat ik bomvol. Verder smaakte de cheeseburger goed (en zeker ook precies licht rosé van binnen) en ook de Schnitzel was prima. Voor t geld kregen we veel (vooral vlees). Dame blanche was ook lekker. Dranken werden goed en vlot geserveerd. T is n Rock 'n Roll diner dus je keek he ogen uit aan t interieur. Heel erg vriendelijke bediening. Ooh ja... en heerlijke *ouderwetse liedjes van Elvis Presley enz. nam ons terug in de tijd van nu opa en oma....

De mosselen natuur waren uitgedroogd, te lang gekookt. Er zat totaal geen smaak in. Jammer want het waren nochtans grote (Jumbo) mosselen. De serveerster spreekt heel onduidelijk, voor ons onverstaanbaar. De zetels zijn doorzeten. Geen aangename ervaring. Wij gaan hier nooit meer terug.

The 2 issues are due to the decoration, the food was not good and the smell of the environment is super unpleasant, they try to disguise it with incense and it turns into something horrible.

Terrible!!!! DON'T GO THERE!!! The food just couldn't be put down! The beef burgers tasted bad and smelled like fish. An espresso was offered as an alternative because we've all lost our appetite for more! I wasn't willing to pay the full price, but was rudely told that I would definitely pay! The waitress was of the opinion that they couldn't do anything since they only work there. The boss is in Spain. He's probably having a good time by the pool there, since he's set up his four tourist traps in town and is collecting money. Our bill was €150, with one drink each, but we ate the fries. Oh yes, the wrong bill was also brought to us... I can only warn you not to go there!!!!

Ten of us were visiting Sluis and wanted to stop for dinner. The portions were moderate, but the worst thing was the smell of the beef burgers, which was indefinable and the food was therefore inedible. No meat has ever smelled like this before. I've never experienced that almost everyone took a bite of the food and left it there. The complaints were ignored because the boss was in Spain, these jokers. So we basically paid €15 each for a homeopathic portion of side fries. We were offered coffee as an apology. Even though the billing was wrong, the visit was perfect. Set up a pillow and romantic candlelight in the toilet :-\

The beef burger tasted like fish, was really bad, don’t go there!

Horrible!!! We had 6 burgers here and they smelled and tasted like fish. It was not possible to eat it. We all said the same in our group. Same issues at other table. They rejected to give us refund, because the boss is in spain. Wow! One of the worst places we have been.

Omdat het er rustig uit zag gingen we binnen. Later was duidelijk waarom er geen volk zat 🥲. We hadden mossels natuur én entrecote besteld . De mosselen stonken even erg als hun toiletten, vies! Toch geriskeerd om enkele te proeven maar ik kreeg walneigingen. Precies alsof ze over datum (wat waarschijnlijk ook zo was) waren en een half uur gekookt hadden. Ook smaakloos, zout en peper hadden ze blijkbaar niet meer op voorraad. Teruggegeven en direct aanvaard, zelfs geen weerwerk, wat toch al vreemd is. De entrecote was een dikke lap die uit 50% vies vet bestond, kleurloos, smaakloos en een ranzige smaak. We hebben eigenlijk alles laten liggen. De man gaf ons elk een extra drankje, waarschijnlijk uit schaamte en verontschuldiging. Dit walgelijk eten heeft ons dan ook nog eens 75€ gekost 😭😡 Ik zou iedereen dit restaurant absoluut afraden!

1 uur wachten op het eten. Met de drank waren ze ook al verkeerd. Een toast die helemaal aangebrand was. Een hamburger broodje dat nog bevroren was en geen slaafje bijgeleverd ook al stond dat op de kaart. 2 personen hadden al gedaan met eten toen de 2 andere hun gerecht kregen. 2 tafels naast ons waren ook ontevreden. Aangebakken pizza’s , verkeerde bestellingen van eten. En al bij al dan nog super duur ook.

We aten hier met negen man, het enige wat een beetje te vreten was, was de soep (waarschijnlijk uit een pakje). De tosti downtown met "bolognaise saus" was koud en de saus smaakte erger dan ravioli uit blik. De komkommer bij het slaatje zag er nog erger uit als plankton uit spongebob. De enige tip die we kunnen aanbieden is: "zoek iets anders!"

Frisdrank heel duur. Twee pizza's besteld waarvan er 1 verkeerd was. Niet slecht, meer middelmatig. Ook een hamburger besteld maar deze was niet lekker. Droog stuk vlees met wat ketchup, blad sla en schijfje tomaat. Op het menu stond er met salade maar die was er iet bij. Nooit meer. Had beter eerst de reviews gelezen.

Ongelooflijk lang moeten wachten. Erbarmelijk eten uiteindelijk: bevroren broodje hamburger, verbrande toast, spaghetti zwom in water) Bij betaling werden de klachten weggelachen, geen compensatie. Er waren nog boze klanten.

As good as this was last year, it was as bad today. We arrived on the heated terrace at 1:00 PM and ordered our drinks and food at 1:10 PM, 4 pizzas and 1 bacon burger. My hamburger was brought to the table around 2:10 PM and the first 2 pizzas around 2:20 PM. The last two pizzas arrived at the table around 2:30 PM. the bacon burger was ok, the 4 pizzas were not baked long enough so the pizza base was undercooked and soggy. To ease our suffering from having to wait so long, we received 1 free coffee. Please note: Not per person, but 1 coffee for 5 people. What a letdown.

Fakka with this store man, I waited an extra 20 minutes on top of the 1.5 hours for a damn wet pizza, the dough wasn't even done, 1 star because I couldn't give a zero, the pizza was less than 20cm in diameter and I spent €15 there paid for

Worst waffle ever Don't eat old and dry It's outrageous that they dare to give something like that

Had something to eat at Down Town this afternoon. Ordered next: 2 x waffle with whipped cream 1 x chicken salad 1 x bacon cheeseburger. 1 x latte 2 x 00 beer 1x fuze tea The latte was a half filled cup with a (too small) spoon in it. The waffles were overcooked, so I didn't eat half of them The chicken salad was grotesque, but clearly prepared without visible love. The bacon cheeseburger consisted of a fried bun (had seen its day), the burger was tasteless, the bacon was a slice of ham, the cheese was definitely having a day off. Soggy salad in between. Burger was accompanied by fries. Fried too hard, no mayonnaise. The ordered burgers and fries were even left on a table next to us. That says quite a bit. When we ordered a fuze tea and a radler (for those who had latte earlier) we received a different type of fuze tea and a bottle of radler. Had to ask for the glass themselves because they didn't understand that it was for someone else. The service did not speak the Dutch language. Also remarkable. Music could be heard in the background. 4 songs to be exact. And then the 1st song started again. We sat there for about 45 minutes and heard every song at least 10 times.... It's really sad that the municipality even allows such non-catering people to run a business. A mockery. Permit should be confiscated. Remarkable by the way.... in reviews the owner puts a comment 'ok'. No apologies, no response to the comments, no mention of 'we will improve that'...

We bestelden via thuisbezorgd een borrelplank. Maar het was niet eetbaar. De warme hapjes bij de koude in een bak.. gesmolten kaasblokjes, warme olijven, verlepte sla.. zonde van het geld want het was niet eetbaar..

The music was way too loud, we had to wait almost an hour for the food, the food itself, the hamburger was more burnt than fried, the pizza scampi had an aftertaste. Pizza Quattro stagione was quite good, the cheese croquettes were also cava. Not good food and way too expensive for what it is. Apart from the cool interior, unfortunately not worth repeating.

The mussels were excellent, my wife's pizza was also excellent.

The side fries for my wife and I were not enough, even for one person. We only discovered that they were supposed to be for both of us when we presented the bill. In the meantime we had informed the waitress that the second portion of fries was still missing. Shortly before we were finished they arrived, mind you, portions 3 and 4, and not, as we actually expected, portion 2!

The restaurant is modeled on a classic diner, great ambience! There are many different dishes on the menu, everyone should be able to find something here. The service is friendly, courteous and child-friendly. Prices are in the upper midfield, but ok compared to the other restaurants in the area. Drinks were generally a little more expensive than usual (water 0.5 l for €6.75). We were all full and thought the quality was good too.

Leuk american interieur. Voor mij was het zeer lekker. Ik heb mosselen gegeten. Mijn man at een burger. We hebben een cola zero besteld, na het drinken er pas op gelet dat het een gewone cola was. Gelukkig zijn we geen diabeten. Dochter at kinderspaghetti, man vond het totaal niet lekker. Meteen uit de diepvries. Wat wel zeer goed was, dat ze terwijl ik mosselen at, toch telkens de schelpen wegnamen zodat ik plaats genoeg had om ze weg te leggen. Was wel een goede organisatie qua bediening.

Nice American interior. For me it was very tasty. I ate mussels. My husband ate a burger. We ordered a Coke Zero, but only noticed after drinking that it was a regular Coke. Luckily we are not diabetics. Daughter ate children's spaghetti, husband didn't like it at all. Immediately from the freezer. What was very good was that while I was eating mussels, they kept taking away the shells so that I had enough space to put them away. It was a good organization in terms of service.

I ordered food and beer. They brought us warm beer and after 40 minutes i asked about my food. They told me they're still working on it. After 1 1 hour i paied th beer and left disapointed and hungry. 1 hour for some mussels? The boss heard me telling the waiter about tje problem and he ignored it. DISAPOINTING!

Schönes Lokal im amerikanischen Stil, was man von außen gar nicht vermutet. Nette Bedienung, alles sauber, gutes Essen. Sehr große Portionen. Ein Stern Abzug da wir hier den kleinsten, dafür aber teuersten Cappuccino (4,50€) auf dieser Reise getrunken haben. Dieser war sogar noch um einiges teurer und kleiner als im Pavillon am Strand. Dafür war das Essen (Pasta und Muscheln) sehr reichlich und auch lecker und zu Essen war ja unser Hauptanliegen.

Nous avons atterri un peu par hasard dans ce restaurant, nous cherchions des plats à emporter autre que des pizzas et des frites. Accueil sympathique et bonne ambiance dans le resto. Qualité de la nourriture correct, sauce trop liquide et viande trop cuite, hors mon mari avait demandé saignant, portion généreuse.

Was helemaal niet druk als we daar gingen eten. Interieur is wel tof gedaan (Amerikaans wegrestaurant-style). Het eten is niet top, maar ook niet slecht.

De mosselen "a volente" waren zeer lekker. Bediening was correct. Interieur gelijkend aan Cubaanse/amerikaanse bar.

Voor- en nagerecht was prima. Het hoofdgerecht (de burger) was aangebrand en bij degenen die een biefstuk hadden was nou ook niet echt meer een biefstuk, meer een schoenzool om op te kauwen. Toen ik vroeg om wat saus bij de friet, knikte de bediende, liep weg en kwam vervolgens niet terug🙈 De bediende vroeg na het eten "klaar?!?" En haalde vervolgens de borden op. Nogmaals goed voor- en nagerecht maar over het algemeen niet iets om nog eens heen te gaan. Er was gelukkig wel een man in de bediening die wel fatsoenlijk vroeg of alles naar wens was ;)
