A nice little restaurant with an outdoor area and two floors. The staff is very friendly and the food is of high quality. It was delicious, and we would come back. Many thanks to the team at the Downtown Grill Restaurant.

Worst salad I've ever eaten. Ordered a shrimp and mango salad. The salad dressing was completely tasteless, 3 tiny shrimp, and the table was unwashed and still dirty from previous customers. I do not recommend it.

The sauce tasted like it was ready-bought. The room temperature in the bathroom was unbearably high. After eating there, my boyfriend got diarrhea.

Not even a drop of sauce for a 15 euros burger, just one slice of raw tomato and one slice of cucumber. Angus burger definitely not angus meat but probably frozen discount meat. This restaurant is not worth the big value you pay for, avoid it.

Quaint little place in heart of Rembrandt square. Great prices and plenty of options. We had the rib steak and a Cesar salad both were tasty.

Tourist trap. The burger was empty, no cheese, no pickles, no onions just one slice of tomato and an overcooked steak.

Situated on a corn of Rembrandt square is downtown steak House. I absolutely loved this restaurant and visited twice over the kingsday celebrations. First time was a very late evening meal where I had a delicious mix grill served on a portable mini bbq which I love the idea of and the partner had a beef beefburger. Mest on the grill was perfect and reasonably priced. Second visit was just for early evening drinks and dessert after a very long day. Do love there brownies here and a nice pint of Heineken lager! Big thanks to GINO who was polite, attentive, friendly and created a lovely happy atmosphere across the restaurant. Outside heaters and fire pits to help you on them chilling Amsterdam evenings so still comfortable eating outside. Great location for a spot of people watching

Run away! We were tired from our day, we let ourselves be persuaded by the tout on duty. It was a bad thing for us. 40 minutes of waiting and barely edible dishes. Run away, run away. and, as unfortunately I had forgotten that evening, NEVER ENTER a restaurant where people are soliciting you in the street. We didn't even have dessert, so. It was too bad...

Fairly warm welcome but the kitchen leaves something to be desired. The burgers were made with frozen steak, the sides cost money but you don't know until the end of the meal and they even missed the salad. I don't really recommend.

Do NOT GO to this restaurant ! The toilets are dirty af, i ordered a Burger and the bread was cold, they just put some sht together and sell it for 14.90.. and that’s not finished! They wrote that French fries were included in the price but not at all ! I paid for it, en français « Fuyez les gars c’est chaud »

With a friend we ate on the terrace, it was very good despite the servers not being very smiling, not very welcoming except the person who seated us who was very cool. The atmosphere outside in the evening with the kind of small braziers is very pleasant. Affordable prices.

Tourist food, €30 for surf and turf...two sad shrimps and a hint of steak...for anyone who wants to lose weight, there's nothing else. Oh yes, the extra sauce we ordered cost an additional €3.

Great place and very friendly waitress

Except for Melisa and another young waiter, who were friendly, there was nothing good about it. The onion soup was average, nothing special; I ordered the salmon tostada and decided not to eat it; no one bothered to ask why I didn't touch the plate; the vegan burger was dry. I don't recommend it, nor would I return; it was money wasted.

The only saving grace about the place is Melissa, the food is very bad, the salmon arrived in very bad condition and when discussing it with the waiter the response was: sorry. The burger is nothing out of this world. Very bad experience.

Terrible servicio. La comida era mala. El personal era muy poco servicial cuando se trataba del menú. Pedí una hamburguesa, que se sirvió en un bollo seco frío. Sin mayonesa, sin salsa, sin mostaza, sin ketchup. A cada cobertura se le cobraba extra por ello aunque no se mencionara en el menú. No servían agua del grifo, nos dijeron que el propietario insistió en que bebiéramos agua embotellada y de nuevo nos cobraron por esto, a pesar de que el agua del grifo es perfectamente segura en Amsterdam. Mi amigo tomó un filete y una ensalada. El filete estaba sabroso. Pero la ensalada no tenía aderezo. Nadie se molestó en vernos después de que la comida llegó. Cada uno tenía patatas fritas y no tenían absolutamente nada de ketchup en el restaurante! Nadie quitó nuestros envases de bebidas o botellas. Platos sucios dejados en la mesa muy pequeña. Mucha gente. Tuve la impresión de que el personal era todo gruñón. Es una gran ubicación, pero absolutamente no vale la pena los 60 euros.

Food was mediocre at best which you expect in a tourist hotspot. We were seated outside at our request by a lovely young man who couldn't do enough to help. However while eating we watched the same young man be berated almost to the point of bullying by two older men that worked at the restaurant who were trying to entice passers by to come in to eat. We asked one of the 2 older men for the bill 3 times before it was finally brought to us and a card machine was thrust at our faces. We asked to split the bill and my friend paid their portion and I said I'll pay the rest. He said I don't know how much that is as I have to input the amount on the screen. We worked the remaining balance and I paid and left. The service would of been a 5 star if we had only been served by the original waiter but after our interaction with the other 2 outside members of staff.

A lot of people were sitting outside, so we decided to come inside and take a look. The restaurant wasn't anything special, though. Our food was prepared quite well, but the wine card was lacking in presentation: the only available wine was white, rose, and red. The bar stand had wine bottles missing from the menu. There's a comfortable terrace, too. Overall, the restaurant isn't too atmospheric, fit only for a single visit. Also, my crème brûlée was frozen (sad)

We thought it was so cool that they had a grill brought to the table that you could cook your meat. The smell in the air was delicious. The food was okay. Very friendly service.

The owner is very pushy. A flat rate of €5 tip will be accepted/required. The cooking levels were not as ordered.

Personal encantador y amable con carisma. Hermosa comida y un entorno encantador. Pedimos hamburguesa con papas fritas y el pollo envuelto en tocino en una hermosa mirada de mostaza miel. También tenía una patata chaqueta como un lado que venía sofocado en crema fresca que era un placer encantador. I really want negetive stars to review this restaurant We have waited for 1.5 hour.. then they said they have messed up with the order. After our order the restaurant hosted 20 group of people, and delivered food in front of me in 15 mints. It seems if you are going in a big group then its fine fir them else not. Je déconseille vivement !!!! Le pain des hamburgers est dur et froid, le verre de vin rosé ressemble à du vinaigre et le steak ressemble à tout sauf à de la viande. Les banquettes sont éliminées et bonnes pour la décharge quand aux toilettes, mieux vaut vous retenir 🤢 On vous alpague pour rentrer et une fois assis, on est juste une addition : personnel pas aimable, le serveur vous sert en baillant et quand vous partez, même pas un « au revoir et merci « .

Good place to enjoy good food when you are a big group and don't know where to go and what to eat. There is a big menu and you can pick a couple of options. The food was very good. I had the hamburger with topping of my choice and enjoyed it very much. The fries were crispy and with good spices. The service was very nice and helpful for questions.

Downtown was an outstanding experience. The mojitos were expertly crafted with bold, refreshing flavours. The rum and cokes were like measures I would pour myself at home! 🤪 The steak was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavour. Overall, the meal exceeded expectations, and the attention to detail made for a memorable evening. Highly recommend! Thank you, Gino!

Sorry but this place is super bad. Had a stake, 300g and it was so over cocked. The pepper sauce was just a béarnaise sauce with green pepper in it, no sallad to my meal. Fries was ok. Hard to miss that one. Wife had a onion soup with bread. Was soup and onion, not so tasty. No grilled cheese on top.

Amazing steak experience right in the heart of Leidseplein! The meat was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure everything was spot on. The atmosphere is cozy yet lively, perfect for a night out in Amsterdam. I also tried a few sides, and they were the perfect complement to the meal. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great steak in the city!

T-bone - it was cooked well, service was late but let's face it it was quite busy. But what bothered me the most was the tall guy at the cash register who forced me to pay a tip. I've never had that happen anywhere I've been. He printed the bill of payment which was €110 and wrote from the pen on the back that I owe €121. Very ugly!

Lovely Ribeye steak, and great fries love the seasoning. Recommend the peppercorn sauce, also my partner got a Caesar chicken burger she loved it. Our little ones wanted pasta carbonara and a cheese pizza so the waiter got us it ordered from another sister restaurant. Great service and friendly very friendly staff especially Gino goes out of his way to make you comfortable.

All in all it was fine. The waitresses were partly very friendly, partly a bit unmotivated, which was perhaps because there were far too many on duty for too few guests, but it was good. My steak could have been a little warmer, the side salad didn't taste that good. The fries were average. The Caesar salad really only contained lettuce, no tomatoes/corn or anything like that. I was really looking forward to the Creme Brulee, it came with ice cream and cream, but it was only lukewarm and it wasn't caramelized well. 3 stars is good here, although the price is a bit high.

Food was average, lacked flavor and smothered in oil, (not olive oil). Service, one of the servers was arrogant, ripping the menu out of wife’s hand before she had finished her order. When the meal was done he never asked how the food was but was arrogant to ask twice for a tip and when I said no he looked over at his work mate and pulled a face. My advice, keep walking and find one of the many amazing local restaurants with great service.

Do not eat here. They will try to lure you in and make false promises like “if you don’t like it you don’t have to pay for it” and then give you completely sub-par food and really terrible dessert and argue with you after they made you wait for 10-20-30 minutes. The staff were rude, inattentive and unhelpful. Very hard to get a hold of our waiter and when we did it was very hard to communicate our displeasure with the food. When the waiter first came by I thought they asked “was it good” to which I said “no sorry” and they walked off. We thought it was strange, after a while, an hour, (the waiter walked past us multiple times and glanced at us and at one point looking at their phone.) they finally stopped by where we again informed them that we did not like the food, she said something none of quite heard and wakes off, we thought they might get the cook, manager or anyone but no. We didn’t see them again, 30 minutes goes by and a new waiter appears we tell them the same tale we told the last one, a bit of back and forth and they take our plates. (In retrospect we should’ve taken a picture of the food) And then we waited again. Then a man comes out and tries to convince us that it was our fault because we didn’t say anything earlier(we tried) and that the food was half eaten. (I had two bites of that awful red velvet cake and gave a taste to my friends to have them confirm that there was definitely something wrong with it. Because the waiters were so slow the ice cream and cream melted.) He was so unhelpful and rude, we ended up paying for the mid food and got one dessert taken off the bill. I’ve never experienced such disgusting service anywhere. When we were leaving we saw another touristy couple and we warned them to not eat there. To which the same man came up to me and told be that what we did was disgusting to which I replied that what he did making us pay for that food that and with that service was disgusting. I do not care if I’m blacklisted from that place because I truly believe they shouldn’t be up and running. Do not eat here, I cannot stress this enough. TLDR: Awful and shady service Sub-par food Terrible desserts Tourist scam Do not eat here.

Don’t bother eating here A few friends I was having a look at the menu when not even a second went by before a man came up to us and started “hustling” us into the restaurant, we told him first that we were just looking but he wouldn’t stop until we sat down. We thought the food seemed appealing so we thought we give it a go. I’ll keep it short by saying the food was underwhelming and the dessert was dry and the consistency was off. Getting the attention of the waitress was challenging and the waiting time between every time we talked to them was 20-40min Don’t waste your time and money

Tourist catcher! Literally bullshit. We ordered 3 starters which were frozen bread with butter and crème fraîche… For the dishes we each took 3 burgers made from “Angus” beef but it was literally not beef, I don’t know what the hell they did inside… 1 slice of tomato and 3 rocket leaves I had to make my own bruger by adding the sauces. Terrible frozen fries. And very average service

El personal fue grosero , se olvidó la comida , se sirvió tarde y sin órdenes secundarias y cuando se pidió al personal que remediara argumentaron que no se pedía comida. Esto no es una experiencia de restaurante, muy mal servicio , personal argumental . Una lástima que no toda la comida era mala y de hecho algunos miembros del partido disfrutaron de su comida, pero para la mayoría era muy pobre. El problema no era la comida sino la actitud y el carácter defensivo del personal. Si pudiera calificar esto más bajo le daría un cero.
