The waitress was very nice and made me a recommendation for a dish because I told her I had intolerances.

Went with a group of 6 friends while visiting Amsterdam. As someone who has frequented Hard Rock cafés in Europe and the USA, I have to say the venue in Amsterdam is one of my favourites. Davide our server was brill, he was attentive, understood and delt with my food allergies brilliantly and was very engaging. The food was also very tasty and the drinks even more so ☺️

Only had a hot chocolate pit stop after the hard rock shop in the cold weather. Excellent service and ok hot chocolate

Great staff, fantastic cocktails and good food!

Unfortunately, it's a bit dated. However, the waiters were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the food was just what you'd expect from a Hard Rock restaurant. It's about a 30-minute walk from the train station, which is quite manageable and makes for a pleasant stroll through the city center. Definitely worth it.

A place I just pass through in Amsterdam. Sure, hard cafes are everywhere, but I find that Amsterdam isn't exactly known for its fine dining. It's nice to stop for a good burger. Plus, it's well located by the water where you can watch the boats go by. The staff is really friendly, we always receive a very warm welcome, and the burgers are truly excellent, always served with passion and at a reasonable price.

The ribs were delicious. Luis and Ritchie were attentive and helpful. Thank you very much.

A memorable evening at the Hard Rock in Amsterdam. The location is beautiful, nestled among the canals (especially the seats near the windows), the decor is beautiful, and the food is delicious. The staff, who speak several languages, is truly the added value of this place! They're incredibly knowledgeable and kind, and know the dishes well, and they give excellent advice! A special thanks to Davide, who made my husband's birthday a day to remember and looked after us all from the beginning of the dinner to the end. Thank you so much, Davide ❤️

This was my first time ever visiting a Hard Rock Cafe, and unfortunately it turned into a very disappointing experience. When I walked in, the atmosphere initially impressed me; it genuinely felt like stepping into America. As a Dutch resident who has visited NYC before, it briefly brought back those memories. The prices were shockingly high. I paid almost 7 euros for a single glass of Fanta. The food was good, but also on the expensive side. I could have overlooked that if the service hadn’t been unacceptable. Our server introduced himself, but from the moment he took our order, his attitude changed completely. Since we weren’t very hungry, we only ordered one dish and one drink each. Apparently that wasn’t good enough for him, because his service immediately became cold and dismissive. While he was extremely friendly and attentive to the five other tables around us, he treated us noticeably differently. I watched him refill everyone’s empty glasses, every single one, except ours. He didn’t even bother to ask if we needed anything. He barely stopped by our table at all, and in the end I had to call him over just to get basic service. Despite giving us the poorest service in the entire section, he still expected a tip. When I politely said I didn’t want to leave one, he became irritated. I refuse to feel guilty about that. Why should I tip someone who clearly decided from the start to give us intentionally bad service? Paying nearly 7 euros for a soda while others around us got refills without even asking was frustrating enough, but being treated as if we didn’t matter simply because we ordered less was unacceptable. I am certain he gave us worse service on purpose, and then had the nerve to be annoyed when he wasn’t rewarded for it. Overall, this experience ruined my first visit to Hard Rock Cafe. He should consider himself lucky we didn’t complain on the spot. I will not be returning.

A very lovely spot if you’re looking for amazing burgers and great cocktails! The location is perfect — close to several museums and even a casino. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the fries were fantastic. Everything was super tasty, and the view while eating by the canal made it even better. Such a wonderful place!

We had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe during our trip to Amsterdam and were very impressed. The restaurant is very distinctive and meticulously designed. The menu is well-organized, and the dishes we ate were spectacular. The staff is friendly, helpful, and courteous. An honorable mention goes to the chicken, which was beautifully breaded (pictured). Highly recommended! ☺️

Less atmosphere than any other Hard Rock I've been to. The restaurant is small and not very well located, in my opinion. But I still recommend it.

We visited this establishment on a special offer from a tour. We loved everything: the food was wonderful, the waiters were attentive, and we were given the best seats overlooking the canal. And the dessert was a special treat. I highly recommend it.

Very sad after our experience today... We're regulars and have been coming to the Hard Rock Cafe Amsterdam every year for years. Today we wanted to show this place we love so much to my in-laws, but they made us wait a good 5 minutes standing up only to tell us we couldn't eat or have a drink because we had our little chihuahua (who was in his bag). I should mention that we take our dog with us EVERY YEAR (see photo) and we've been to many Hard Rock Cafes in other countries. The Hard Rock Cafe was on our itinerary, as it is every year. We walked 3km just to get there with my brother-in-law who has Down syndrome, an elderly person, and a pregnant woman. The reason? "It's not hygienic for the kitchen." I didn't really understand their excuse since we didn't even set foot in the kitchen. :') And especially since they didn't even want us to go to the bar area...!! But in any case, we'll never set foot in there again!! What a disappointment, it was really a place we loved going to…

Very cool cafe! Like the other cafes. But the staff at the cafe entrance is so unfriendly and rude. They were only polite inside the cafe itself.

The food is not very interesting and service was so-so. Nothing to write home about except that it's in a good location. I wouldn't go back.

Hard rock cafe, good vibes, nice food, shirts and great staff.

This was my grandmother's favorite restaurant. However, this time it has gone downhill. The service had become significantly less attentive. Very disappointing. The burgers themselves have gotten smaller. We also weren't told we'd paid for our drinks and could get one downstairs. We only realized this when we got home. Since parking is more expensive than a drink, we didn't go back. But unlike our previous experiences here, this one was drastically disappointing. It's a shame, but we won't be coming back anytime soon.

Pricey, but fantastic food! Skipped the cocktails this time (delicious, by the way) and went for a beer and nachos! Tasted delicious.

Amazing evening at the Hard Rock Cafe Amsterdam! Me and my husband both had the smash burgers, my husband has a gluten intolerance as well as other dietary requirements and the service was incredible! Our server was Kyriakos and he was brilliant! So friendly and welcoming, the manager came over to our table as well to help us with the dietary requirements and make sure that everything was ok and she was really understanding and very helpful! We had a lovely evening and would definitely recommend, we can't wait to go back!

A very positive note was the waiter Nicola, who was very friendly, kind, and very professional!!! The view of the canal was spectacular! Reservations required. The complimentary ice cream was very much appreciated.

When we're abroad, we always stop by this chain's cafes. The meat is delicious. In Amsterdam, surprisingly, the cafe is very small, and you have to wait for a seat. There are also very few exhibits on the walls. The ribs, as always, are prime!

As always, a must-visit for anyone who likes this genre. The special feature is a section of the shop that overlooks the canal. It's in the museum area, so it's a bit of a walk-through.

We had a reservation, otherwise the wait would have been 50 minutes. Despite having a reservation, we still had to wait before being seated. Our special requests regarding food were fulfilled. The food was delicious, and they had a great burger special. I think the prices are relatively high. The service was friendly and quick at first. At the end, we asked for the dessert menu, but it never came when we ordered, so we paid instead. We had a great seat with a beautiful view. My last visit was similar. At first, the service was quick and friendly, but after our meal, we wanted to pay, but the waitress was nowhere to be found, so paying took a long time. For the price, I thought the burger was too small, and there were only a few fries.

Do NOT go here if you’re vegan!!! I knew better than to go to Hard Rock and ask for a vegan burger, but when you call beforehand and they assure you they can make every single one of their burgers vegan, you’d think your expectations are at least slightly valid. The burger I got was one of the saddest things I’ve ever eaten (see photo) for 22 euros. All I got were 2-3 pickles, cheese, a patty and no sauce at all. I don’t think it would’ve hurt them to maybe put a tomato slice, onions or lettuce (some very vegan ingredients). The cherry on top: they make you pay 1 euro extra to make it vegan… only to remove every ingredient in the burger. Do better, or don’t do it at all!

Strategic place in a tourist friendly area

I was very excited to come and order a vegan burger after calling the cafe and specifically asking about VEGAN burgers. Person behind the phone told me that all of their burgers can be made vegan. However, after getting the burger and seeing the sad state of it I was extremely dissapointed. Not only it was missing any lettuce, tomato or any other vegetables, it was also missing the sauce. Hard Rock is known for its amazing burgers, but this was simply sad. What made it even worse was that we paid 20€+ for it and had to pay extra for a veg patty.

As I write this review, I already know that management will likely reply saying it was all a misunderstanding and justify it by mentioning that they’ve known the waiter in question for many years, just as they told us at the time it happened. A few days ago, we entered Hard Rock to attend an event taking place at the bar area. We came in through the main entrance, where the front desk employee told us we could go ahead and choose where to sit. We specifically asked if we could also order food there, and the employee confirmed that we could. We then walked upstairs toward the bar area and chose a nearby table to have some food before joining the actual bar area. As I was pulling out a chair to sit, someone suddenly yelled behind me and grabbed the chair out of my hand. I couldn’t understand what he was saying at first, and when I asked, he screamed even louder (extremely rudely) saying we couldn’t sit there because this wasn’t a “self-service restaurant” and that we needed to be assigned a table by a waiter. We tried to explain that the front desk had told us we could sit anywhere (the restaurant was quite empty, by the way), but he insisted that no one would ever say that and proceeded to *escort* us back downstairs to “prove” his point. He seemed more interested in proving us wrong than actually helping us get seated or providing any kind of service. When I calmly suggested he could be more polite next time, he completely lost his temper and insisted on calling the manager - even though I said there was no need and we just wanted a table. I’m the furthest thing from a “Karen” and I genuinely try to avoid conflict, especially in hospitality settings, knowing it’s not an easy job. This was actually the first time I’ve ever spoken to a manager about an issue - and ironically, I hadn’t even asked for one. But the manager’s reaction was just as disappointing. He barely tried to understand what had happened or provide a service; instead, he simply said he knows the waiter for many years, suggesting it was simply a matter of the waiter’s “manners.” Needless to say we decided to leave.

You can eat better for the money

I sent an email two days later describing the situation, but no one responded! Service is different. Here's the content of the email again: Thu., July 4, 10:03 AM We were in the shop around lunchtime and did some shopping. Afterwards, we wanted to eat. Unfortunately, we were asked at the door for our reservation, which we didn't have because we were there spontaneously. Unfortunately, the gentleman didn't give us a table. He said everything was fully booked. There were no tables occupied on the terrace. We've visited many Hard Rock Cafés around the world, but this has never happened to us. It's a real shame. We'll definitely avoid you in the future. That's not how you treat guests! By the way, we had a wonderful meal at another restaurant. Best regards

The food was of lower quality than last time. The salmon was dry and overcooked. The chicken burger was a disgrace. I will never order again. I made a reservation, so no wait time.

I’ve been to several Hard Rocks around the world, and honestly, I expected more from this one. I think it could use a remodel; everything feels quite dull and lacks the chain’s signature decoration. The only good things about this location are the canal views and the delicious fajitas. We asked to change tables but were told no, even though the restaurant was nearly empty and we had a reservation, so we were a bit disappointed… I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

I ate at the Hard Rock Cafe twice on a recent trip to Amsterdam. They have an extensive gluten free menu, and having explained my food allergies to the waitstaff on both occasions, I felt well catered for. I had a spicy cheese burger (I don’t remember the specific name of the burger, but it had jalapenos) and fries, with a gluten free bun. It was great. The wait staff that served me on both evenings were friendly and helpful. I’d recommend it here.

Can‘t go wrong with a Hard Rock Cafe. Nice views across the canal. Extremely attentive and friendly service. We pre-booked a three course meal offer with unlimited drinks, which we thought was great value for money.

Food is great, view to the canal is amazing, service is great and friendly. The store is small but has some good stuff amd there are always some discounts.

Menu needs an overhaul. Very little vegan food. Seems stuck in the 80’s. No atmosphere.

First time, ever. Amazing, made a B line. Taken the walk from the station, taken a few snaps, enjoyed. Not in rush. Starters, best I have ever had. Burger & fries. Killer coffee, same as the shop used to service. Would I come back, haven't left . Alvaro ,Anastasia, excellent service. 3rd time in 2 days. There is a party of 20, with 2 wheelchairs. Lift to move them. I would love to be part of that group. Could I turn up on the motorbike, sure would love that.

A little untypical for a Hard Rock Cafe

We spontaneously went in for dinner. The salmon bowl was absolutely delicious. The spot was right on the canal dock. It was sheltered from the wind and super sunny. Lucky me 😁

Unfortunately, we can't comment on the food. After being seated, we were ignored for 20 minutes. We were sitting in a queue, and I think the waitstaff walked past us at least 15 times without even looking at us. After an unanswered attempt to get their attention, we left.

Convenience food was my first thought... as the plates passed us by... Drink prices are tied to the location and the history... Like a forest of bars... €10 for a standard beer... And they even take it from the living for the merchandise... Well... seems like the best years are over and in the end, it's just the cult... I had to go anyway... Punta Cana was still better... Whatever... It's just my generation... If you want to, go for it.

A bonus find on my travels to canal cruise tour company. I saw this from across the canal and went in to get a city pin for my friend back in Canada. He collects guitar shaped city pins so I try and stop in one every city I visit.

We went on a very very rainy day for lunch wait staff were lovely the food was good but music was quiet and not a lot of hard rock style memorabilia about the place.

You wanted to check out the Hard Rock Cafe and have a beer, but you were immediately sent away. Unfriendly service. I'm becoming increasingly unsympathetic to Holland.

I always enjoy going to a Hard Rock Cafe. We received a friendly welcome and service here. The space is decorated with lots of rock star pictures and accessories. The special of the month was delicious. I'll be back.

Hard Rock Cafe Amsterdam is pretty much what you’d expect if you’ve been to other Hard Rock Cafes around the world. It’s a standard setup — lively atmosphere, classic rock memorabilia on the walls, and a full dining area with all the usual menu options (burgers, ribs, cocktails, etc.). Service is friendly and quick, and it’s a reliable spot if you’re looking for something familiar in the city. As with every Hard Rock, the Rock Shop is packed with merch — plenty of T-shirts and other branded gear to choose from if you’re collecting or just want a souvenir. Nothing groundbreaking, but it delivers exactly what the brand promises.

No matter which city, it's always an incredibly good stay in a cozy atmosphere, good rock music and very good service.

Unfortunately, the breakfast was only mediocre. The ambiance and memorabilia were truly wonderful, and the service was extremely friendly and prompt.

I entered this establishment with rather high expectations. The thought of the food made me salivate, and finally, I entered the restaurant, high on endorphins. As the meal progressed, however, I realized that the restaurant's reputation was completely unjustified. Saddened and brought back down to earth by the truth, I left the restaurant after a less than exhilarating experience.

The burger was the size of a tennis ball, and the fries were casually thrown next to the burger. The quality was comparable to McDonald's, although the burger was smaller.

We were there with a large group of about 70 people. The selection of dishes was very small. The salad was okay. The burgers, whether vegetarian or not, were just basic, and we had to put them together ourselves. The burgers didn't come with any sauce; we could only use mayo and ketchup. The fries were good. For dessert, there was a cheap ice cream that didn't taste very good. Considering the high price of the menu, we were very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend it.

The drinks are great. The rock is not. Personally I don't think modern pop music counts as rock, I don't go to hard rock cafe expecting Mary J Blige.
